destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to
destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I
Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.
May God, who has caused His Name to dwell there, overthrow any king or people who lifts a hand to alter this decree or to
destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I,
Darius, have issued the decree. Let it be carried out with
diligence.
And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be
sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’
sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?

forever! Why should I not be
sad when the city where my fathers are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been
destroyed by fire?”
And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the
dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

inspected the walls of Jerusalem that had been broken down and the gates that had been
destroyed by fire.

Mordecai.
And when he learned the identity of
Mordecai’s people, he
scorned the notion of laying hands on
Mordecai alone. Instead, he sought to
destroy all of
Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the kingdom of

enlargement and
deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be
destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and

destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for
bondmen and
bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not

For my people and I have been sold out to destruction, death, and
annihilation. If we had merely been sold as menservants and maidservants, I would have remained silent, because no such distress would
justify burdening the king.”

revoke the letters that the scheming
Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, wrote to
destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces.
Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to
destroy, to
slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would
assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the
spoil of them for a prey,

Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his
integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to
destroy him without cause.
Then the LORD said to
Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one on earth like him, a man who is
blameless and upright, who fears God and shuns evil. He still retains his
integrity, even though you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.”

destroy them. He often restrained His anger and did not
unleash His full wrath.

flourish; it is that they shall be
destroyed for ever:

destroying them.

destroy them.

quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will
destroy them.

swarmed around me like bees, but they were
extinguished like burning thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them off.
The wicked have waited for me to
destroy me: but I will consider thy
testimonies.
Remember, O LORD, the children of
Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said,
Rase it,
rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
Remember, O LORD, the sons of
Edom on the day Jerusalem fell: “
Destroy it,” they said, “
tear it down to its foundations!”

destroy all them that
afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

Destroy all who
afflict me, for I am Your servant.

lightning, and
scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and
destroy them.

slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall
destroy them.
But
whoso committeth
adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it
destroyeth his own soul.
An
hypocrite with his mouth
destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
With his mouth the ungodly man
destroys his
neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are
rescued.
Whoso despiseth the word shall be
destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
He who despises instruction will pay the penalty, but the one who respects a command will be rewarded.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

messenger that your
vow was a mistake. Why should God be
angry with your words and
destroy the work of your hands?

For the leaders of this people cause them to
err; and they that are led of them are
destroyed.
For those who guide this people mislead them, and those they mislead are
swallowed up.
