And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast
done? And the woman said, The serpent
beguiled me, and I did eat.
Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have
done?” “The serpent
deceived me,” she replied, “and I
ate.”
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast
done this, thou art
cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy
belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have
done this,
cursed are you above all
livestock and every beast of the field! On your
belly will you go, and dust you will eat, all the days of your life.
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
“What have you
done?” replied the LORD. “The voice of your brother’s blood
cries out to Me from the ground.
And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again
curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again
smite any more every thing living, as I have
done.
When the LORD smelled the pleasing
aroma, He said in His heart, “Never again will I
curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from his youth. And never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have
done.
And
Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had
done unto him.

Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast
done unto me? why

And Sarai said unto
Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my
maid into thy
bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was
despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.
Then Sarai said to
Abram, “May the wrong
done to me be upon you! I delivered my servant into your arms, and ever since she saw that she was
pregnant, she has treated me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me.”
I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
I will go down to see if their actions fully
justify the outcry that has reached Me. If not, I will find out.”
Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the
integrity of my heart and
innocency of my hands have I
done this.
Didn’t Abraham tell me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ I have
done this in the
integrity of my heart and the
innocence of my hands.”
Then
Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou
done unto us? and what have I
offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast
done deeds unto me that ought not to be
done.
Then
Abimelech called Abraham and asked, “What have you
done to us? How have I
sinned against you, that you have brought such
tremendous guilt upon me and my kingdom? You have
done things to me that should not be
done.”
And
Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast
done this thing?
Now therefore
swear unto me here by God that thou
wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have
done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast
sojourned.
Now, therefore,
swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
And
Abimelech said, I
wot not who hath
done this thing: neither
didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has
done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until
today.”
And said, By myself have I
sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast
done this thing, and hast not
withheld thy son, thine only son:
saying, “By Myself I have
sworn, declares the LORD, that because you have
done this and have not
withheld your only son,
And it came to pass, before he had
done speaking, that, behold,
Rebekah came out, who was born to
Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of
Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
Before the servant had finished praying,
Rebekah came out with her
jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of
Bethuel son of Milcah, the wife of Abraham’s brother
Nahor.
And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
After she had given him a drink, she said, “I will also draw water for your camels, until they have had enough to drink.”
And it came to pass, as the camels had
done drinking, that the man took a golden
earring of half a
shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;
And after the camels had finished drinking, he took out a gold ring weighing a beka, and two gold bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels.
And before I had
done speaking in mine heart, behold,
Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.
And before I had finished praying in my heart, there was
Rebekah coming out with her
jar on her shoulder, and she went down to the spring and drew water. So I said to her, ‘Please give me a drink.’
And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.
Then the servant told Isaac all that he had done.
And
Abimelech said, What is this thou hast
done unto us? one of the people might lightly have
lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought
guiltiness upon us.
“What is this you have
done to us?” asked
Abimelech. “One of the people could easily have
slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.”
That thou
wilt do us no
hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have
done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.
that you will not
harm us, just as we have not
harmed you but have
done only good to you, sending you on your way in peace. And now you are blessed by the LORD.”
And Jacob said unto his father, I am
Esau thy
firstborn; I have
done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my
venison, that thy soul may
bless me.
Jacob said to his father, “I am
Esau, your
firstborn. I have
done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game, so that you may
bless me.”
Until thy brother’s anger turn away from thee, and he
forget that which thou hast
done to him: then I will send, and
fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?
until your brother’s
rage against you wanes and he forgets what you have
done to him. Then I will send for you and bring you back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?”
And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places
whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have
done that which I have spoken to thee of.
Look, I am with you, and I will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to
Laban, What is this thou hast
done unto me? did not I serve with thee for
Rachel? wherefore then hast thou
beguiled me?
When morning came, there was Leah! “What have you
done to me?” Jacob said to
Laban. “Wasn’t it for
Rachel that I served you? Why have you
deceived me?”
And
Laban said, It must not be so
done in our country, to give the younger before the
firstborn.
Laban replied, “It is not our custom here to give the younger daughter in marriage before the older.
Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.
Give me my wives and children for whom I have served you, that I may go on my way. You know how hard I have worked for you.”
‘Look up,’ he said, ‘and see that all the males that are mating with the flock are
streaked,
spotted, or
speckled; for I have seen all that
Laban has
done to you.
And
Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou
done, that thou hast
stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as
captives taken with the sword?
Then
Laban said to Jacob, “What have you
done? You have
deceived me and carried off my daughters like
captives of war!
And hast not suffered me to
kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now
done foolishly in so doing.
But you did not even let me
kiss my grandchildren and my daughters goodbye. Now you have
done a
foolish thing.
And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were
grieved, and they were very
wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob’s daughter; which thing ought not to be
done.
When Jacob’s sons heard what had happened, they returned from the field. They were filled with grief and
fury, because
Shechem had committed an
outrage in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter—a thing that should not be
done.
And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and
whatsoever they did there, he was the
doer of it.
And the
warden put all the prisoners under Joseph’s care, so that he was responsible for all that was
done in the prison.
For indeed I was
stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I
done nothing that they should put me into the
dungeon.
For I was
kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have
done nothing for which they should have put me in this
dungeon.”
And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I
awoke.
When they had
devoured them, however, no one could tell that they had
done so; their appearance was as
ugly as it had been before. Then I
awoke.
And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath
done unto us?
“My silver has been returned!” he said to his brothers. “It is here in my
sack.” Their hearts
sank, and
trembling, they turned to one another and said, “What is this that God has
done to us?”
Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.
Is this not the cup my master drinks from and uses for
divination? What you have
done is wicked!’”
And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have
done?
wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?
“What is this deed you have done?” Joseph declared. “Do you not know that a man like me can surely divine the truth?”
And the king of Egypt called for the
midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye
done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?
So the king of Egypt summoned the
midwives and asked them, “Why have you
done this? Why have you let the boys live?”
And his sister stood
afar off, to wit what would be
done to him.
And his sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.
And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
But the man replied, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you
planning to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “This thing I have
done has surely become known.”
Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
Go,
assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—has appeared to me and said: I have surely attended to you and have seen what has been
done to you in Egypt.
For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has brought trouble on this people, and You have not delivered Your people in any way.”
And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
and that you may tell your children and grandchildren how severely I dealt with the Egyptians when I performed
miraculous signs among them, so that all of you may know that I am the LORD.”
And in the first day there shall be an holy
convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy
convocation to you; no manner of work shall be
done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be
done of you.
On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly, and another on the seventh day. You must not do any work on those days, except to prepare the meals—that is all you may do.
And thou shalt
shew thy son in that day, saying, This is
done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
And on that day you are to explain to your son, ‘This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’
And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”
And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us into the wilderness to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
When Jethro, the priest of
Midian, Moses’ father in law, heard of all that God had
done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
Now Moses’ father-in-law Jethro, the priest of
Midian, heard about all that God had
done for Moses and His people Israel, and how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.
And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had
done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and all the
travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
Then Moses recounted to his father-in-law all that the LORD had
done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships they had
encountered along the way, and how the LORD had delivered them.
And Jethro
rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had
done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
And Jethro
rejoiced over all the good things the LORD had
done for Israel, whom He had
rescued from the hand of the Egyptians.
Whether he have
gored a son, or have
gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be
done unto him.
If the ox gores a son or a daughter, it shall be done to him according to the same rule.
Six days may work be
done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD:
whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
For six days work may be
done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD.
Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.
And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the
calf, which Aaron made.
And the LORD sent a plague on the people because of what they had
done with the
calf that Aaron had made.
And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
And the LORD said, “Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I will perform wonders that have never been
done in any nation in all the world. All the people among whom you live will see the LORD’s work, for it is an
awesome thing that I am doing with you.
And till Moses had
done speaking with them, he put a
vail on his face.
When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a
veil over his face.
Six days shall work be
done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD:
whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
For six days work may be
done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD.
Whoever does any work on that day must be put to death.
According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.
The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they have done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.
And Moses
inspected all the work and saw that they had accomplished it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
“Tell the Israelites to do as follows with one who sins
unintentionally against any of the LORD’s commandments and does what is forbidden by them:
And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be
hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have
done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be
done, and are guilty;
Now if the whole congregation of Israel strays
unintentionally and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly so that they
violate any of the LORD’s commandments and
incur guilt by doing what is forbidden,
When a ruler hath
sinned, and
done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be
done, and is guilty;
When a leader sins
unintentionally and does what is prohibited by any of the commandments of the LORD his God, he incurs guilt.
And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
And if one of the common people sins
unintentionally and does what is prohibited by any of the LORD’s commandments, he incurs guilt.
And he shall make
amends for the
harm that he hath
done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part
thereto, and give it unto the priest: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him with the ram of the
trespass offering, and it shall be
forgiven him.
Regarding any holy thing he has
harmed, he must make
restitution by adding a fifth of its value to it and giving it to the priest, who will make
atonement on his behalf with the ram as a guilt offering, and he will be
forgiven.
And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be
done by the commandments of the LORD; though he
wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
If someone sins and
violates any of the LORD’s commandments even though he was unaware, he is guilty and shall bear his punishment.
And the priest shall make an
atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be
forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath
done in
trespassing therein.
In this way the priest will make
atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be
forgiven for anything he may have
done to
incur guilt.”
And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD commanded to be done.
And Moses said to them, “This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.”
As he hath
done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an
atonement for you.
What has been
done today has been commanded by the LORD in order to make
atonement on your behalf.
And upon
whatsoever any of them, when they are dead,
doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or
raiment, or skin, or
sack,
whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is
done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be
cleansed.
When one of them dies and falls on something, that article becomes unclean; any article of wood, clothing, leather,
sackcloth, or any
implement used for work must be
rinsed with water and will remain unclean until evening; then it will be clean.
And this shall be an
everlasting statute unto you, to make an
atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
This is to be a permanent statute for you, to make
atonement once a year for the Israelites because of all their sins.” And all this was
done as the LORD had commanded Moses.
(For all these abominations have the men of the land
done, which were before you, and the land is
defiled;)
For the men who were in the land before you committed all these abominations, and the land has become
defiled.
And the priest shall make an
atonement for him with the ram of the
trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath
done: and the sin which he hath
done shall be
forgiven him.
The priest shall make
atonement on his behalf before the LORD with the ram of the guilt offering for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven the sin he has committed.
Six days shall work be
done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy
convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You must not do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD.
And if a man cause a
blemish in his neighbour; as he hath
done, so shall it be
done to him;
If
anyone injures his
neighbor, whatever he has
done must be
done to him:
Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a
blemish in a man, so shall it be
done to him again.
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Just as he injured the other person, the same must be inflicted on him.
And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve.
the curtains of the
courtyard, and the curtains for the entrance at the gate of the
courtyard that surrounds the tabernacle and altar, along with their ropes and all the
equipment for their service. The Gershonites will do all that needs to be
done with these items.
At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall
appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.
All the service of the Gershonites—all their transport duties and other work—is to be
done at the direction of Aaron and his sons; you are to
assign to them all that they are responsible to carry.
Then they shall
confess their sin which they have
done: and he shall
recompense his
trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath
trespassed.
and must
confess the sin he has committed. He must make full
restitution, add a fifth to its value, and give all this to the one he has wronged.
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be
defiled, and have
done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the
curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her
belly shall swell, and her
thigh shall
rot: and the woman shall be a
curse among her people.
When he has made her drink the water, if she has
defiled herself and been unfaithful to her husband, then the water that brings a
curse will enter her and cause bitter suffering; her
belly will swell, her
thigh will
shrivel, and she will become
accursed among her people.
And Aaron said unto Moses,
Alas, my lord, I
beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have
done foolishly, and wherein we have
sinned.
and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not hold against us this sin we have so
foolishly committed.
Thus shall it be
done for one
bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a
kid.
This is to be done for each bull, ram, lamb, or goat.
Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young
bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one
kid of the goats for a sin offering.
and if it was
done unintentionally without the knowledge of the congregation, then the whole congregation is to prepare one young bull as a burnt offering, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD, with its grain offering and drink offering according to the regulation, and one male goat as a sin offering.
And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
and because it had not been declared what should be
done to him, they placed him in
custody.
And Moses said,
Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not
done them of mine own mind.
Then Moses said, “This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these things, for it was not my own doing:
And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had
done to the
Amorites.
Now Balak son of Zippor saw all that Israel had
done to the
Amorites,
And the LORD opened the mouth of the
ass, and she said unto
Balaam, What have I
done unto thee, that thou hast
smitten me these three times?
Then the LORD opened the
donkey’s mouth, and she said to
Balaam, “What have I
done to you that you have beaten me these three times?”
And Balak said unto
Balaam, What hast thou
done unto me? I took thee to
curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
Then Balak said to
Balaam, “What have you
done to me? I brought you here to
curse my enemies, and behold, you have only blessed them!”
Surely there is no
enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any
divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
For there is no
spell against Jacob and no
divination against Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and Israel, ‘What great things God has
done!’
Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
Why should the name of our father disappear from his clan because he had no sons? Give us property among our father’s brothers.”
And the LORD’S anger was
kindled against Israel, and he made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had
done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had
done evil in His sight was gone.
As he did to the children of
Esau, which dwelt in
Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their
stead even unto this day:
just as He had
done for the descendants of
Esau who lived in
Seir, when He destroyed the Horites from before them. They drove them out and have lived in their place to this day.
And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of
Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.
We devoted them to destruction, as we had
done to Sihon king of
Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children of every city.
And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath
done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms
whither thou passest.
And at that time I commanded Joshua: “Your own eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms you are about to enter.
And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
And the LORD heard the words you spoke to me, and He said to me, “I have heard the words that these people have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken.
And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye
sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
Then I fell down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, as I had
done the first time. I did not eat bread or drink water because of all the sin you had committed in doing what was evil in the sight of the LORD and
provoking Him to anger.
He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
He is your praise and He is your God, who has
done for you these great and
awesome wonders that your eyes have seen.
But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
For it is your own eyes that have seen every great work that the LORD has done.
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every
abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they
done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
You must not worship the LORD your God in this way, because they practice for their gods every
abomination which the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.
Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
you must bring out to your gates the man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you must stone that person to death.
Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
you must do to him as he intended to do to his brother. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
so that they cannot teach you to do all the
detestable things they do for their gods, and so cause you to sin against the LORD your God.
