Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what
end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
Woe to you who long for the Day of the LORD! What will the Day of the LORD be for you? It will be darkness and not light.
Therefore now shall they go
captive with the first that go
captive, and the
banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
Therefore, you will now go into exile as the first of the
captives, and your feasting and
lounging will come to an
end.
And it came to pass, that when they had made an
end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD,
forgive, I
beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please
forgive! How will Jacob
survive, since he is so small?”
And he said,
Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A
basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The
end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
“
Amos, what do you see?” He asked. “A
basket of summer fruit,” I replied. So the LORD said to me, “The
end has come for My people Israel; I will no longer
spare them.”
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the
ephah small, and the
shekel great, and
falsifying the balances by
deceit?
asking, “When will the New Moon be over, that we may sell grain? When will the Sabbath
end, that we may market wheat? Let us reduce the
ephah and increase the
shekel; let us
cheat with
dishonest scales.
And I will turn your feasts into
mourning, and all your songs into
lamentation; and I will bring up
sackcloth upon all loins, and
baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the
mourning of an only son, and the
end thereof as a bitter day.
And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the
end that every one of the mount of
Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
Then your mighty men, O Teman, will be
terrified, so that
everyone in the mountains of
Esau will be cut down in the slaughter.
And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall
abide: for now shall he be great unto the
ends of the earth.
He will stand and
shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the
majestic name of the LORD His God. And they will dwell securely, for then His greatness will extend to the
ends of the earth.
Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will
plead with Israel.
Hear, O mountains, the LORD’s
indictment, you
enduring foundations of the earth. For the LORD has a case against His people, and He will
argue it against Israel:
I will bear the
indignation of the LORD, because I have
sinned against him, until he
plead my cause, and
execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
Because I have
sinned against Him, I must
endure the
rage of the LORD, until He argues my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me into the light; I will see His righteousness.
Who can stand before his
indignation? and who can
abide in the fierceness of his anger? his
fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
But with an
overwhelming flood He will make an
end of
Nineveh and pursue His enemies into darkness.
What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter
end:
affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Whatever you plot against the LORD, He will bring to an
end.
Affliction will not rise up a second time.
Take ye the
spoil of silver, take the
spoil of gold: for there is none
end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
“
Plunder the silver!
Plunder the gold!” There is no
end to the
treasure, an abundance of every precious thing.
The
horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the
glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none
end of their corpses; they
stumble upon their corpses:
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the
end it shall speak, and not lie: though it
tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not
tarry.
For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be
devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a
speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the Day of the LORD’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy.” For indeed, He will make a sudden end of all who dwell on the earth.
And I will cut off the
chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from river even to the
ends of the earth.
And I will cut off the
chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow of war will be broken. Then He will
proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion will extend from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates to the
ends of the earth.
But who may
abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’
sope:
But who can
endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire, like a
launderer’s soap.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had
ended these sayings, the people were

And ye shall be
hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that
endureth to the
end shall be saved.
You will be
hated by
everyone because of My name, but the one who perseveres to the
end will be saved.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an
end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to
preach in their cities.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: for she came from the
uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and
condemn it; for she came from the
ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
The enemy that
sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the
end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
As the weeds are collected and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of the age.
So shall it be at the
end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and
sever the wicked from among the just,
So will it be at the end of the age: The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous,
They say unto him, He will
miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his
vineyard unto other
husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
“He will bring those wretches to a
wretched end,” they replied, “and will rent out the
vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the fruit at harvest time.”
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
While Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not
alarmed. These things must happen, but the
end is still to come.
But he that shall
endure unto the
end, the same shall be saved.
But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

trumpet, and they shall gather together his
elect from the four winds, from one
end of heaven to the other.
And He will send out His angels with a loud
trumpet call, and they will gather His
elect from the four winds, from one
end of the heavens to the other.
But Peter followed him
afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the
end.
But Peter followed Him at a distance, right up to the
courtyard of the high priest. And he went in and sat down with the guards to see the outcome.
In the
end of the sabbath, as it began to
dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the
sepulchre.
After the Sabbath, at
dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
alway, even unto the
end of the world.
Amen.
and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
And if
Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an
end.
And if
Satan is divided and rises against himself, he cannot stand; his
end has come.
And have no root in themselves, and so
endure but for a time: afterward, when
affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are
offended.
But they themselves have no root, and they remain for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be
alarmed. These things must happen, but the
end is still to come.
And ye shall be
hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall
endure unto the
end, the same shall be saved.
You will be
hated by
everyone because of My name, but the one who perseveres to the
end will be saved.
And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his
elect from the four winds, from the
uttermost part of the earth to the
uttermost part of heaven.
And He will send out the angels to gather His
elect from the four winds, from the
ends of the earth to the
ends of heaven.

forever. His kingdom will never
end!”
Being forty days
tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were
ended, he afterward
hungered.
where for forty days He was
tempted by the devil. He
ate nothing during those days, and when they had
ended, He was
hungry.
And when the devil had
ended all the
temptation, he departed from him for a season.
Now when he had
ended all his sayings in the
audience of the people, he entered into
Capernaum.
When Jesus had concluded His discourse in the hearing of the people, He went to
Capernaum.
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and
lodge, and get
victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
As the day neared its
end, the Twelve came to Jesus and said, “Dismiss the crowd so they can go to the surrounding villages and
countryside for
lodging and provisions. For we are in a
desolate place here.”
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and
condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and
condemn them; for she came from the
ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
For I have five brethren; that he may
testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of
torment.
for I have five brothers. Let him
warn them, so that they will not also
end up in this place of
torment.’
For as the
lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
For just as the
lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one
end to the other, so will be the Son of Man in His day.
And he spake a parable unto them to this
end, that men ought always to pray, and not to
faint;
Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:
But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not
terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the
end is not by and by.
When you hear of wars and rebellions, do not be
alarmed. These things must happen first, but the
end is not
imminent.”
By your patient
endurance you will gain your souls.
For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about Me is reaching its
fulfillment.”
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but
tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be
endued with power from on high.
And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which
endureth unto
everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that
endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of
approval.”
When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be
glorified thereby.
When Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness will not
end in death. No, it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be
glorified through it.”
Now before the feast of the
passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the
end.
It was now just before the
Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very
end.
The evening meal was underway, and the devil had already put into the heart of
Judas, the son of Simon
Iscariot, to
betray Jesus.
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this
end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
“Then You are a king!”
Pilate said. “You say that I am a king,” Jesus answered. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to
testify to the truth.
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice.”
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth.”
And now I say unto you,
Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to
nought:
So in the present case I
advise you: Leave these men alone. Let them go! For if their purpose or
endeavor is of human origin, it will fail.
The same dealt
subtilly with our kindred, and evil
entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the
end they might not live.
He exploited our people and
oppressed our fathers, forcing them to
abandon their infants so they would die.
And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
He
endured their conduct for about forty years in the wilderness.
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and
exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much
tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
strengthening the souls of the disciples and
encouraging them to continue in the faith. “We must
endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.
And after he had seen the vision, immediately we
endeavoured to go into
Macedonia,
assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to
preach the gospel unto them.
As soon as Paul had seen the vision, we got ready to leave for
Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to
preach the gospel to them.
After these things were
ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through
Macedonia and
Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.
After these things had happened, Paul resolved in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through
Macedonia and
Achaia. “After I have been there,” he said, “I must see Rome as well.”
And after the
uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into
Macedonia.
When the
uproar had
ended, Paul sent for the disciples. And after
encouraging them, he said goodbye to them and left for
Macedonia.
And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we
kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
But when our time there had
ended, we set out on our journey. All the disciples, with their wives and children, accompanied us out of the city and
knelt down on the
beach to pray with us.
And when the seven days were almost
ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple,
stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
When the seven days were almost over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They
stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
For I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to
strengthen you,
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may rest on grace and may be
guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
What fruit had ye then in those things
whereof ye are now
ashamed? for the
end of those things is death.
What fruit did you
reap at that time from the things of which you are now
ashamed? The outcome of those things is death.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto
holiness, and the
end everlasting life.
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the fruit you
reap leads to
holiness, and the outcome is eternal life.
What if God, willing to
shew his wrath, and to make his power known,
endured with much
longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
What if God, intending to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great
patience the vessels of His wrath, prepared for destruction?
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
For Christ is the
end of the law, to bring righteousness to
everyone who believes.
But I say, Have they not heard?
Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the
ends of the world.
But I ask, did they not hear? Indeed they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
For this reason Christ died and returned to life, that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
For
whatsoever things were written
aforetime were written for our learning, that we through
patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through
endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.
Now the God of
patience and
consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Now may the God who gives
endurance and encouragement grant you harmony with one another in Christ Jesus,
Who shall also
confirm you unto the
end, that ye may be
blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He will
sustain you to the
end, so that you will be
blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a
spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
For it seems to me that God has displayed us apostles at the
end of the
procession, like prisoners appointed for death. We have become a
spectacle to the whole world, to angels as well as to men.
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our
admonition, upon whom the
ends of the world are come.
Now these things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the
fulfillment of the ages has come.
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power.
And why stand we in
jeopardy every hour?
And why do we
endanger ourselves every hour?
If we are
afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which accomplishes in you patient
endurance of the same sufferings we experience.
For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength,
insomuch that we
despaired even of life:
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the hardships we
encountered in the province of Asia. We were under a burden far beyond our ability to
endure, so that we
despaired even of life.
For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
For we do not write you anything that is beyond your ability to read and understand. And I hope that you will understand us completely,
For to this
end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be
obedient in all things.
My purpose in writing you was to see if you would stand the test and be
obedient in everything.
For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
For if what was
fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which
endures!
And not as Moses, which put a
vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not
stedfastly look to the
end of that which is abolished:
We are not like Moses, who would put a
veil over his face to keep the Israelites from
gazing at the
end of what was
fading away.
(As it is written, He hath
dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness
endures forever.”
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
It is not surprising, then, if his servants
masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their
end will correspond to their actions.
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without
end.
Amen.
to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
forever and ever.
Amen.
