And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, behold, a smoking
firepot and a flaming
torch appeared and passed between the
halves of the
carcasses.
And he looked toward
Sodom and
Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and
beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a
furnace.
He looked down toward
Sodom and
Gomorrah and all the land of the plain, and he saw the smoke rising from the land like smoke from a
furnace.
And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the
furnace, and let Moses
sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of
soot from the
furnace; in the sight of Pharaoh, Moses is to
toss it into the air.
And they took ashes of the
furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses
sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a
boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
So they took
soot from the
furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses
tossed it into the air, and
festering boils broke out on man and beast.
And mount
Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a
furnace, and the whole mount
quaked greatly.
Mount
Sinai was completely
enveloped in smoke, because the LORD had descended on it in fire. And the smoke rose like the smoke of a
furnace, and the whole mountain
quaked violently.
But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
Yet the LORD has taken you and brought you out of the iron
furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of His inheritance, as you are
today.
For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
For they are Your people and Your inheritance; You brought them out of Egypt, out of the furnace for iron.
Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahath-moab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.
Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-moab repaired another section, as well as the Tower of the Ovens.
And the other company of them that gave
thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the
furnaces even unto the broad wall;
The second
thanksgiving choir proceeded to the left, and I followed it with half the people along the top of the wall, past the Tower of the Ovens to the Broad Wall,
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a
furnace of earth,
purified seven times.
Thou shalt make them as a
fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall
swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall
devour them.
You will place them in a
fiery furnace at the time of Your appearing. In His wrath the LORD will
engulf them, and the fire will
consume them.
The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
A
crucible for silver and a
furnace for gold, but the LORD is the tester of hearts.
As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
A
crucible for silver and a
furnace for gold, but a man is tested by the praise
accorded him.
And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the
ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in
Zion, and his
furnace in Jerusalem.
Their rock will pass away for fear, and their princes will
panic at the sight of the battle standard,” declares the LORD, whose fire is in
Zion, whose
furnace is in Jerusalem.
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the
furnace of
affliction.
See, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the
furnace of
affliction.
Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
which I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, ‘Obey Me, and do everything I command you, and you will be My people, and I will be your God.’
Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become
dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the
furnace; they are even the
dross of silver.
“Son of man, the house of Israel has become
dross to Me. All of them are copper, tin, iron, and lead inside the
furnace; they are but the
dross of silver.
As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the
furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to
melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my
fury, and I will leave you there, and
melt you.
Just as one gathers silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the
furnace to
melt with a
fiery blast, so I will gather you in My anger and wrath, leave you there, and
melt you.
As silver is melted in the midst of the
furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my
fury upon you.
As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted within the city. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out My wrath upon you.’”
And
whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace.
And
whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into the
blazing fiery furnace.”
And
whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace.
Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Now, if you are ready, as soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the statue I have made. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the
blazing fiery furnace. Then what god will be able to deliver you from my hands?”
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning
fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
If the God whom we serve exists, then He is able to deliver us from the
blazing fiery furnace and from your hand, O king.
Then was
Nebuchadnezzar full of
fury, and the form of his
visage was changed against
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the
furnace one seven times more than it was
wont to be heated.
At this,
Nebuchadnezzar was filled with
rage, and the expression on his face changed toward
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. He gave orders to heat the
furnace seven times hotter than usual,
And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, and to cast them into the burning
fiery furnace.
Then these men were bound in their coats, their
hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning
fiery furnace.
So they were
tied up, wearing robes,
trousers, turbans, and other clothes, and they were thrown into the
blazing fiery furnace.
Therefore because the king’s commandment was
urgent, and the
furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire
slew those men that took up
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego.
The king’s command was so
urgent and the
furnace so hot that the
fiery flames killed the men who carried up
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego.
And these three men,
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning
fiery furnace.
Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning
fiery furnace, and spake, and said,
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come
hither. Then
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an
oven; and all the proud,
yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be
stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a
furnace, when all the
arrogant and every
evildoer will be
stubble; the day is coming when I will set them
ablaze,” says the LORD of Hosts. “Not a root or branch will be left to them.”
Wherefore, if God so
clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to
morrow is cast into the
oven, shall he not much more
clothe you, O ye of little faith?
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here
today and
tomorrow is thrown into the
furnace, will He not much more
clothe you, O you of little faith?
And shall cast them into a
furnace of fire: there shall be
wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
And shall cast them into the
furnace of fire: there shall be
wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
If then God so
clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to
morrow is cast into the
oven; how much more will he
clothe you, O ye of little faith?
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here
today and
tomorrow is thrown into the
furnace, how much more will He
clothe you, O you of little faith!
And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
His feet were like polished bronze refined in a
furnace, and His voice was like the
roar of many waters.
And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great
furnace; and the sun and the air were
darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
The star opened the pit of the
Abyss, and smoke rose out of it like the smoke of a great
furnace, and the sun and the air were
darkened by the smoke from the pit.
As gold in the furnace hath he tried them, and received them as a burnt offering.
For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the
furnace of
adversity.
As the vapour and smoke of a
furnace goeth before the fire; so
reviling before blood.
The
furnace proveth the
potter’s vessels; so the trial of man is in his reasoning.
The
furnace proveth the edge by
dipping: so
doth wine the hearts of the proud by drunkeness.
The smith also sitting by the
anvil, and considering the iron work, the vapour of the fire wasteth his flesh, and he fighteth with the heat of the
furnace: the noise of the hammer and the
anvil is ever in his ears, and his eyes look still upon the pattern of the thing that he maketh; he setteth his mind to finish his work, and watcheth to polish it perfectly:
He fashioneth the clay with his arm, and boweth down his strength before his feet; he applieth himself to lead it over; and he is
diligent to make clean the
furnace:
A man blowing a
furnace is in works of heat, but the sun burneth the mountains three times more; breathing out
fiery vapours, and sending forth bright beams, it dimmeth the eyes.
So that the flame streamed forth above the furnace forty and nine cubits.
And it passed through, and burned those Chaldeans it found about the furnace.
And made the midst of the
furnace as it had been a moist
whistling wind, so that the fire touched them not at all, neither
hurt nor troubled them.
Then the three, as out of one mouth, praised,
glorified, and blessed, God in the
furnace, saying,
O
Ananias, Azarias, and Misael,
bless ye the Lord: praise and
exalt him above all for ever: far he hath delivered us from
hell, and saved us from the hand of death, and delivered us out of the midst of the
furnace and burning flame: even out of the midst of the fire hath he delivered us.
