And the chambers and the
entries thereof were by the posts of the
gates, where they washed the burnt offering.
There was a chamber with a
doorway by the
portico in each of the inner
gateways. There the burnt offering was to be washed.
And in the
porch of the
gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to
slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the
trespass offering.
Inside the
portico of the
gateway were two tables on each side, on which the burnt offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings were to be slaughtered.
And at the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north
gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the
porch of the
gate, were two tables.
Outside, as one goes up to the entrance of the north
gateway, there were two tables on one side and two more tables on the other side of the
gate’s
portico.
Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the
gate; eight tables,
whereupon they
slew their sacrifices.
So there were four tables inside the
gateway and four outside—eight tables in all—on which the sacrifices were to be slaughtered.

porch of the house, and measured each post of the
porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the
gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

Now when the man had finished measuring the interior of the temple area, he led me out by the gate that faced east, and he measured the area all around:
Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:
Then the man brought me back to the gate that faces east,
And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
and the glory of the LORD entered the temple through the gate facing east.
Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.
The man then brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary that faced east, but it was shut.
Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.
And the LORD said to me, “This gate is to remain shut. It shall not be opened, and no man shall enter through it, because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. Therefore it will remain shut.
It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD; he shall enter by the way of the
porch of that
gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.
Only the prince himself may sit inside the
gateway to eat in the presence of the LORD. He must enter by way of the
portico of the
gateway and go out the same way.”
Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD: and I fell upon my face.
Then the man brought me to the front of the temple by way of the north gate. I looked and saw the glory of the LORD filling His temple, and I fell facedown.
Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the
gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall
slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having charge of the gates of the temple and ministering there. They shall slaughter the burnt offerings and other sacrifices for the people and stand before them to minister to them.
And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.

And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.

ledge of the altar, and on the
gateposts of the inner court.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
“This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘The gate of the inner court that faces east must be kept shut during the six days of work, but on the Sabbath day and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.
And the prince shall enter by the way of the
porch of that
gate without, and shall stand by the post of the
gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the
threshold of the
gate: then he shall go forth; but the
gate shall not be shut until the evening.
The prince is to enter from the outside through the
portico of the
gateway and stand by the
gatepost, while the priests sacrifice his burnt offerings and peace offerings. He is to bow in worship at the
threshold of the
gate and then depart, but the
gate must not be shut until evening.
Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the sabbaths and in the new moons.
On the Sabbaths and New Moons the people of the land are also to bow in worship before the LORD at the entrance to that
gateway.
And when the prince shall enter, he shall go in by the way of the
porch of that
gate, and he shall go forth by the way thereof.
When the prince enters, he shall go in through the
portico of the
gateway, and he shall go out the same way.
But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.
When the people of the land come before the LORD at the appointed feasts,
whoever enters by the north
gate to worship must go out by the south
gate, and
whoever enters by the south
gate must go out by the north
gate. No one is to return through the
gate by which he entered, but each must go out by the opposite
gate.
Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings
voluntarily unto the LORD, one shall then open him the
gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the
gate.
When the prince makes a
freewill offering to the LORD, whether a burnt offering or a peace offering, the
gate facing east must be opened for him. He is to offer his burnt offering or peace offering just as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and the
gate must be closed after he goes out.
After he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the two sides westward.
Then the man brought me through the entrance at the side of the gate into the holy chambers facing north, which belonged to the priests, and he showed me a place there at the far western end
Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
Next he brought me out through the north
gate and led me around the outside to the outer
gate facing east, and there I saw the water
trickling out from the south side.
And the
gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel: three
gates northward; one
gate of
Reuben, one
gate of Judah, one
gate of Levi.

gates of the city will be named after the tribes of Israel. On the north side there will be three

gate of Levi.
And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: and three

On the east side, which will be 4,500 cubits long, there will be three
gates: the
gate of Joseph, the
gate of Benjamin, and the
gate of
Dan.
And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: and three
gates; one
gate of
Simeon, one
gate of
Issachar, one
gate of

And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of
Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
There I will give back her vineyards and make the Valley of
Achor into a
gateway of hope. There she will
respond as she did in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.
And the sword shall
abide on his cities, and shall
consume his branches, and
devour them, because of their own counsels.
A sword will
flash through their cities; it will destroy the bars of their
gates and
consume them in their own plans.
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
I will break down the
gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of
Aven and the one who wields the
scepter in Beth-
eden. The people of
Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
They
hate him that rebuketh in the
gate, and they
abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
There are those who
hate the one who reproves in the
gate and
despise him who speaks with
integrity.
For I know your
manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they
afflict the just, they take a
bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the
gate from their right.
For I know that your transgressions are many and your sins are numerous. You
oppress the righteous by taking bribes; you deprive the poor of justice in the
gate.
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the
gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be
gracious unto the
remnant of Joseph.
Hate evil and love good; establish justice in the
gate. Perhaps the LORD, the God of Hosts, will be
gracious to the
remnant of Joseph.”
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away
captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his
gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou
wast as one of them.
On the day you stood
aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his
gate and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were just like one of them.
Thou shouldest not have entered into the
gate of my people in the day of their
calamity;
yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their
affliction in the day of their
calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their
calamity;
For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall
devour thy bars.
Look at your troops— they are like your women! The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire consumes their bars.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish
gate, and an
howling from the second, and a great
crashing from the hills.
On that day,” declares the LORD, “a cry will go up from the Fish
Gate, a
wail from the Second District, and a loud
crashing from the hills.
These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and peace in your
gates:
These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another, render true and sound judgments in your gates,
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s
gate unto the place of the first
gate, unto the corner
gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
All the land from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be turned into a plain, but Jerusalem will be raised up and will remain in her place, from the Benjamin
Gate to the site of the First
Gate to the Corner
Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
Enter ye in at the strait
gate: for wide is the
gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in
thereat:
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the

Nazareth.
When Peter had gone out to the
gateway, another servant
girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus of
Nazareth.”
But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the
porch; and the
cock crew.
But he denied it. “I do not know or even understand what you are talking about,” he said. Then he went out to the
gateway, and the
rooster crowed.

gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Gate a
pool with five covered colonnades, which in Hebrew is called
Bethesda.
But he that entereth in by the door is the
shepherd of the sheep.
But the one who enters by the
gate is the
shepherd of the sheep.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
The
gatekeeper opens the
gate for him, and the sheep
listen for his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
Then said Jesus unto them again,
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
So He said to them again, “Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
I am the
gate. If
anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.
And a certain man
lame from his mother’s
womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the
gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask
alms of them that entered into the temple;
And a man who was
lame from birth was being carried to the temple
gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to
beg from those entering the temple courts.
And they knew that it was he which sat for
alms at the Beautiful
gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and
amazement at that which had happened unto him.
they recognized him as the man who used to sit
begging at the Beautiful
Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and

Cornelius found Simon’s house and approached the
gate.
When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron
gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own
accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and
forthwith the angel departed from him.
They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city, which opened for them by itself. When they had gone outside and walked the length of one block, the angel suddenly left him.
He
knocked at the outer
gate, and a servant
girl named Rhoda came to answer it.
And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the
gate for
gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the
gate.
When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that she
forgot to open the
gate, but ran inside and
announced, “Peter is standing at the
gate!”

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was
wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

gates were shut.
Wherefore Jesus also, that he might
sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the
gate.
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city
gate, to
sanctify the people by His own blood.
And had a wall great and high, and had twelve
gates, and at the

gates were twelve pearls; every several
gate was of one
pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
