But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my
holiness.
For those who harvest grain will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who gather grapes will drink the wine in My holy courts.”
He that killeth an ox is as if he
slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an
oblation, as if he offered
swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.
Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man;
whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever presents a
grain offering is like one who offers pig’s blood;
whoever offers
frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.
Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the
harvestman, and none shall gather them.
Declare that this is what the LORD says: “The corpses of men will fall like dung upon the open field, like newly cut
grain behind the
reaper, with no one to gather it.”
When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an
oblation, I will not accept them: but I will
consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence.
Although they may fast, I will not
listen to their cry; although they may offer burnt offerings and
grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will finish them off by sword and famine and plague.”
And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
And people will come from the cities of Judah and the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, and from the foothills, the hill country, and the Negev, bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices,
grain offerings and
frankincense, and
thank offerings to the house of the LORD.
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the
chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Let the prophet who has a dream retell it, but let him who has My word speak it truthfully. For what is straw compared to grain?” declares the LORD.
Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of
Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the
herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
They will come and
shout for joy on the heights of
Zion; they will be
radiant over the
bounty of the LORD— the
grain, new wine, and oil, and the young of the flocks and herds. Their life will be like a well-watered garden, and never again will they
languish.
Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to
kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
nor will the priests who are Levites ever fail to have a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to present sacrifices.”
That there came certain from
Shechem, from
Shiloh, and from Samaria, even
fourscore men, having their beards
shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.
eighty men who had
shaved off their beards,
torn their garments, and cut themselves came from
Shechem,
Shiloh, and Samaria, carrying
grain offerings and
frankincense for the house of the LORD.
Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.
Come against her from the
farthest border. Break open her
granaries; pile her up like mounds of
grain.
Devote her to destruction; leave her no survivors.
They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they
swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers’
bosom.
They cry out to their mothers: “Where is the
grain and wine?” as they
faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, as their lives
fade away in the arms of their mothers.
I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will
summon the
grain and make it
plentiful, and I will not bring famine upon you.
Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the
trespass offering; for the place is holy.
Then the man said to me, “The north and south chambers facing the temple
courtyard are the holy chambers where the priests who approach the LORD will eat the most holy offerings. There they will place the most holy offerings—the
grain offerings, the sin offerings, and the guilt offerings—for the place is holy.
They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the
trespass offering; and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs.
They shall eat the grain offerings, the sin offerings, and the guilt offerings. Everything in Israel devoted to the LORD will belong to them.
And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for them, saith the Lord GOD.
And one sheep shall be given from each flock of two hundred from the well-watered pastures of Israel. These are for the
grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make
atonement for the people, declares the Lord GOD.
And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all
solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for the house of Israel.
And it shall be the prince’s part to provide the burnt offerings,
grain offerings, and drink offerings for the feasts, New Moons, and Sabbaths—for all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. He will provide the sin offerings,
grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings to make
atonement for the house of Israel.
He shall also provide as a
grain offering an
ephah for each bull and an
ephah for each ram, along with a
hin of olive oil for each
ephah of
grain.
In the seventh month, in the
fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.
During the seven days of the feast that begins on the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, he is to make the same provision for sin offerings, burnt offerings,
grain offerings, and oil.’
And the meat offering shall be an
ephah for a ram, and the meat offering for the lambs as he shall be able to give, and an
hin of oil to an
ephah.
The
grain offering with the ram shall be one
ephah, and the
grain offering with the lambs shall be as much as he is able, along with a
hin of oil per
ephah.
And he shall prepare a meat offering, an
ephah for a
bullock, and an
ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an
hin of oil to an
ephah.
He is to provide a
grain offering of an
ephah with the bull, an
ephah with the ram, and as much as he is able with the lambs, along with a
hin of oil per
ephah.
And in the feasts and in the
solemnities the meat offering shall be an
ephah to a
bullock, and
ephah to a ram, and to the lambs as he is able to give, and an
hin of oil to an
ephah.
At the festivals and appointed feasts, the
grain offering shall be an
ephah with a bull, an
ephah with a ram, and as much as one is able to give with the lambs, along with a
hin of oil per
ephah.
And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an
ephah, and the third part of an
hin of oil, to temper with the fine flour; a meat offering continually by a perpetual
ordinance unto the LORD.
You are also to provide with it every morning a
grain offering of a sixth of an
ephah with a third of a
hin of oil to
moisten the fine flour—a
grain offering to the LORD. This is a permanent statute.
Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning for a continual burnt offering.
Thus they shall provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the oil every morning as a regular burnt offering.’
Then said he unto me, This is the place where the priests shall
boil the
trespass offering and the sin offering, where they shall
bake the meat offering; that they bear them not out into the utter court, to
sanctify the people.
and said to me, “This is the place where the priests shall
boil the guilt offering and the sin offering, and where they shall
bake the
grain offering, so that they do not bring them into the outer court and
transmit holiness to the people.”
For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for
Baal.
For she does not acknowledge that it was I who gave her
grain, new wine, and oil, who
lavished on her silver and gold— which they crafted for
Baal.
Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
Therefore I will take back My grain in its time and My new wine in its season; I will take away My wool and linen, which were given to cover her nakedness.
And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear
Jezreel.
And they have not
cried unto me with their heart, when they
howled upon their beds: they
assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they
rebel against me.
They do not cry out to Me from their hearts when they
wail upon their beds. They
slash themselves for
grain and new wine, but turn away from Me.
For they have sown the wind, and they shall
reap the
whirlwind: it hath no
stalk: the
bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall
swallow it up.
For they
sow the wind, and they shall
reap the
whirlwind. There is no standing
grain; what
sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it should produce, the foreigners would
swallow it up.
They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the
scent thereof shall be as the wine of
Lebanon.
They will return and dwell in his shade; they will grow
grain and
blossom like the vine. His
renown will be like the wine of
Lebanon.
The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD’S ministers,
mourn.
Grain and drink offerings have been cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests are in
mourning, those who minister before the LORD.
The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
The field is ruined; the land mourns. For the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, and the oil fails.
Gird yourselves, and
lament, ye priests:
howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in
sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is
withholden from the house of your God.
Put on
sackcloth and
lament, O priests;
wail, O ministers of the altar. Come,
spend the night in
sackcloth, O ministers of my God, because the
grain and drink offerings are
withheld from the house of your God.
The seed is
rotten under their clods, the garners are laid
desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is
withered.
The seeds lie
shriveled beneath the clods; the storehouses are in ruins; the
granaries are broken down, for the
grain has
withered away.
Who knoweth if he will return and
repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him— grain and drink offerings for the LORD your God.
Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied
therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
And the LORD answered His people: “Behold, I will send you grain, new wine, and oil, and by them you will be satisfied. I will never again make you a reproach among the nations.
And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
The
threshing floors will be full of
grain, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
Behold, I am pressed under you, as a
cart is pressed that is full of
sheaves.
Behold, I am about to
crush you in your place as with a
cart full of
grain.
Forasmuch therefore as your
treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of
hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
Therefore, because you
trample on the poor and exact from him a tax of
grain, you will never live in the stone houses you have built; you will never drink the wine from the
lush vineyards you have planted.
Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Even though you offer Me burnt offerings and
grain offerings, I will not accept them; for your peace offerings of
fattened cattle I will have no regard.
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the
ephah small, and the
shekel great, and
falsifying the balances by
deceit?
asking, “When will the New Moon be over, that we may sell
grain? When will the Sabbath end, that we may market wheat? Let us reduce the
ephah and increase the
shekel; let us
cheat with
dishonest scales.
For, lo, I will command, and I will
sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is
sifted in a
sieve, yet shall not the least
grain fall upon the earth.
“For surely I will give the command, and I will
shake the house of Israel among all the nations as
grain is
sifted in a
sieve; but not a
pebble will reach the ground.
And I called for a
drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
I have summoned a
drought on the fields and on the mountains, on the
grain, new wine, and oil, and on whatever the ground yields, on man and beast, and on all the labor of your hands.”
Since those days were, when one came to an
heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
from that time, when one came expecting a
heap of twenty ephahs of
grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.
For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men
cheerful, and new wine the maids.
How lovely they will be, and how beautiful!
Grain will make the young men
flourish, and new wine, the young women.
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an
hungred, and began to
pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
At that time Jesus went through the
grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were
hungry and began to
pick the heads of
grain and eat them.
But when the
blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
When the wheat
sprouted and bore
grain, then the weeds also appeared.
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a
grain of
mustard seed, which a man took, and
sowed in his field:
He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a
mustard seed that a man planted in his field.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for
verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a
grain of
mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to
yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
“Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a
mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to
pluck the ears of corn.
One Sabbath Jesus was passing through the
grainfields, and His disciples began to
pick the heads of
grain as they walked along.
For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the
blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
All by itself the earth produces a crop—first the
stalk, then the head, then
grain that ripens within.
But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the
sickle, because the harvest is come.
And as soon as the
grain is ripe, he swings the
sickle, because the harvest has come.”
It is like a
grain of
mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
It is like a
mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds sown upon the earth.
And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples
plucked the ears of corn, and did eat,
rubbing them in their hands.
One Sabbath Jesus was passing through the
grainfields, and His disciples began to
pick the heads of
grain,
rub them in their hands, and eat them.
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I
bestow all my fruits and my goods.
Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will
tear down my barns and will build
bigger ones, and there I will store up all my
grain and my goods.
It is like a
grain of
mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air
lodged in the branches of it.
It is like a
mustard seed that a man
tossed into his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.”
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a
grain of
mustard seed, ye might say unto this
sycamine tree, Be thou
plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
And the Lord answered, “If you have faith the size of a
mustard seed, you can say to this
mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
Two women shall be
grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two women will be
grinding grain together: one will be taken and the other left.”
But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.
When Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers on their first visit.
And when they had eaten enough, they
lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
After the men had eaten their fill, they
lightened the ship by throwing the
grain into the sea.
For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not
muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn.
Doth God take care for oxen?
For it is written in the Law of Moses: “Do not
muzzle an ox while it is
treading out the
grain.” Is it about oxen that God is concerned?
And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
And what you
sow is not the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or something else.
For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not
muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
For the Scripture says, “Do not
muzzle an ox while it is
treading out the
grain,” and, “The worker is worthy of his wages.”
For the
grain of evil seed hath been sown in the heart of Adam from the beginning, and how much
ungodliness hath it brought up unto this time? and how much shall it yet bring forth until the time of
threshing come?
Ponder now by
thyself, how great fruit of wickedness the
grain of evil seed hath brought forth.
For the whole world before thee is as a little
grain of the balance,
yea, as a drop of the morning
dew that falleth down upon the earth.
