betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The One I
kiss is the man; arrest
Him and lead
Him away securely.”

straightway to
him, and saith, Master, master; and
kissed him.
Going directly to Jesus, he said, “
Rabbi!” and
kissed Him.
And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

himself at the fire.
Peter followed
Him at a distance, right into the
courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the officers and warmed
himself by the fire.
And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
Now the chief priests and the whole
Sanhedrin were seeking testimony against Jesus to put
Him to death, but they did not find any.

And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,
Then some men stood up and
testified falsely against
Him:
We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.
“We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this man-made temple, and in three days I will build another that is made without hands.’”
But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
But Jesus remained silent and made no reply. Again the high priest questioned Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”
Ye have heard the
blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned
him to be guilty of death.

spit on
him, and to cover his face, and to
buffet him, and to say unto
him,
Prophesy: and the servants did strike
him with the palms of their hands.

spit on
Him. They
blindfolded Him, struck
Him with their fists, and said to
Him, “
Prophesy!” And the officers received
Him with slaps in His face.

himself, she looked upon
him, and said, And thou also
wast with Jesus of
Nazareth.

himself there. She looked at Peter and said, “You also were with Jesus the
Nazarene.”
And a
maid saw
him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.
There the servant
girl saw
him and again said to those standing nearby, “This man is one of them.”
And the second time the
cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto
him, Before the
cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me
thrice. And when he thought
thereon, he
wept.
And immediately the
rooster crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken to
him: “Before the
rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And he broke down and
wept.
And
straightway in the morning the chief priests held a
consultation with the elders and
scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried
him away, and delivered
him to

And the multitude crying
aloud began to desire
him to do as he had ever done unto them.
So the crowd went up and began asking
Pilate to keep his custom.
For he knew that the chief priests had delivered
him for
envy.
For he knew it was out of
envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over.
But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
But the chief priests
stirred up the crowd to have
him release Barabbas to them instead.
And
Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto
him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
So
Pilate asked them again, “What then do you want me to do with the One you call the King of the Jews?”
Then
Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they
cried out the more exceedingly,
Crucify him.
And so
Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had
scourged him, to be
crucified.
And wishing to satisfy the crowd,
Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus
flogged, and handed
Him over to be

salute Him: “
Hail, King of the Jews!”
And they
smote him on the head with a reed, and did
spit upon
him, and bowing their knees worshipped
him.
They kept striking His head with a staff and
spitting on
Him. And they
knelt down and bowed before
Him.
And when they had
mocked him, they took off the purple from
him, and put his own clothes on
him, and led
him out to
crucify him.
After they had
mocked Him, they removed the purple
robe and put His own clothes back on
Him. Then they led
Him out to
crucify Him.

compel one Simon a

Aha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,
Likewise also the chief priests
mocking said among themselves with the
scribes, He saved others;
himself he cannot save.
In the same way, the chief priests and
scribes mocked Him among themselves, saying, “He saved others, but He cannot save
Himself!
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were
crucified with
him reviled him.

crucified with
Him berated Him.
And one ran and filled a
spunge full of
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave
him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take

sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave
Him alone. Let us see if
Elijah comes to take
Him down.”

craved the body of Jesus.
Joseph of

Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
And
Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto
him the
centurion, he asked
him whether he had been any while dead.

him down, and
wrapped him in the linen, and laid
him in a
sepulchre which was
hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the

crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid
him.
But he said to them, “Do not be
alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the
Nazarene, who was
crucified. He has risen! He is not here! See the place where they put
Him.
But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into
Galilee: there shall ye see
him, as he said unto you.
But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going
ahead of you into
Galilee. There you will see
Him, just as He told you.’”
And she went and told them that had been with
him, as they
mourned and
wept.
She went and told those who had been with
Him, who were
mourning and
weeping.
And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
And when they heard that Jesus was alive and she had seen Him, they did not believe it.
Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and
upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen

Later, as they were eating, Jesus appeared to the Eleven and
rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen

But the angel said to
him, “Do not be afraid,
Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give
him the name John.
And he shall go before
him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the
disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Zechariah.
And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
So they made signs to his father to find out what he wanted to name the child.
And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
And all who heard this wondered in their hearts and asked, “What then will this child become?” For the Lord’s hand was with him.

And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
When they could not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him.
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

warned you to
flee from the coming wrath?
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
The crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
John replied, “
Whoever has two tunics should share with
him who has none, and
whoever has food should do the same.”

baptized, and said unto
him, Master, what shall we do?
Even tax collectors came to be
