oppressed and
humble in spirit, to restore the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the
contrite.

humbled ourselves, and You have not noticed?” “Behold, on the day of your fast, you do as you please, and you
oppress all your workers.
For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a

abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath
lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath

extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to
abase.

glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just. And He is able to
humble those who walk in pride.

trembled and feared before him: whom he would he
slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.

trembled in fear before him. He killed whom he wished and kept alive whom he wished; he
exalted whom he wished and
humbled whom he wished.

humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in
response to them.
Seek ye the LORD, all ye
meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek
meekness: it may be ye shall be
hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.
Seek the LORD, all you
humble of the earth who carry out His justice. Seek righteousness; seek
humility. Perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger.

afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

meek and
humble people, and they will trust in the name of the LORD.

Zion;
shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an
ass, and upon a
colt the
foal of an
ass.
Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of
Zion!
Shout in triumph, O Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious,
humble and riding on a
donkey, on a
colt, the
foal of a
donkey.

exalted them of low degree.

exalted the
humble.
For
everyone who exalts himself will be
humbled, and the one who

exalted.”
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be
abased; and he that
humbleth himself shall be
exalted.
I tell you, this man, rather than the
Pharisee, went home justified. For
everyone who exalts himself will be
humbled, but the one who
humbles himself will be
exalted.”

beseech you by the
meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

Have I committed an offence in

humble myself in order to
exalt you, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?

humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

humbled Himself and became

Finally, all of you, be like-minded and
sympathetic, love as brothers, be tenderhearted and
humble.
Likewise, ye younger, submit
yourselves unto the elder.
Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with
humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the
humble.
Young men, in the same way, submit
yourselves to your elders. And all of you,
clothe yourselves with
humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the
humble.”
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may
exalt you in due time:
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may
exalt you.

humbled thyself, as it becometh thee, and hast not judged
thyself worthy to be much
glorified among the righteous.

alway, and desire of him that thy ways may be directed, and that all thy paths and counsels may
prosper: for every nation hath not counsel; but the Lord himself giveth all good things, and he
humbleth whom he will, as he will; now therefore, my son, remember my commandments, neither let them be put out of thy mind.
