The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

everyone is forcing his way into it.
There was a certain rich
man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared
sumptuously every day:
Now there was a rich
man dressed in purple and fine linen, who lived each day in
joyous splendor.
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich
man’s table: moreover the dogs came and
licked his sores.
and longing to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich
man’s table. Even the dogs came and
licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the
beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s
bosom: the rich
man also died, and was buried;
One day the
beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. And the rich
man also died and was buried.
And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not seeit.
Then He said to the disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
For as the
lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of
man be in his day.
For just as the
lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so will be the Son of
Man in His day.
But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Just as it was in the days of
Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of
Man:
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
“In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected men.
And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
For a while he refused, but later he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect men,
I tell you that he will
avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of
man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
I tell you, He will
promptly carry out justice on their behalf. Nevertheless, when the Son of
Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”
I tell you, this
man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be
abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be
exalted.
I tell you, this
man, rather than the
Pharisee, went home justified. For
everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be
exalted.”
And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Seeing the
man’s
sadness, Jesus said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!
For it is easier for a
camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich
man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Indeed, it is easier for a
camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich
man to enter the kingdom of God.”
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
But Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life
everlasting.

nigh unto
Jericho, a certain blind
man sat by the way side
begging:
As Jesus drew near to
Jericho, a blind
man was sitting beside the road,
begging.
And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
Jesus stopped and directed that the man be brought to Him. When he had been brought near, Jesus asked him,
And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
And there was a
man named Zacchaeus, a chief tax
collector, who was very wealthy.
And when they saw it, they all
murmured, saying, That he was gone to be
guest with a
man that is a
sinner.
And all who saw this began to
grumble, saying, “He has gone to be the
guest of a sinful
man!”
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any
man by false
accusation, I restore him
fourfold.
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor, and if I have
cheated anyone, I will repay it
fourfold.”

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
He said therefore, A certain
nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
So He said, “A
man of noble birth went to a distant country to lay claim to his
kingship and then return.
But his citizens
hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this
man to reign over us.
But his subjects
hated him and sent a
delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want this
man to rule over us.’
And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
When he returned from
procuring his
kingship, he summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what each one had
earned.
For I feared thee, because thou art an
austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou
didst not
sow.
For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh
man. You withdraw what you did not deposit and
reap what you did not
sow.’
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an
austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and
reaping that I did not
sow:
His master replied, ‘You wicked servant, I will judge you by your own words. So you knew that I am a harsh
man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and
reaping what I did not
sow?
Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a
colt tied,
whereon yet never
man sat: loose him, and bring him
hither.
saying, “Go into the village
ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a
colt tied there, on which no one has ever sat.
Untie it and bring it here.
And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
If
anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.’”
Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain
man planted a
vineyard, and let it forth to
husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
Then He proceeded to tell the people this parable: “A
man planted a
vineyard, rented it out to some tenants, and went away for a long time.
Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
“Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man is to marry his brother’s widow and raise up offspring for him.
And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
and the third married the widow, and in the same way all seven died, leaving no children.
And he said, Take
heed that ye be not
deceived: for
many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Jesus answered, “See to it that you are not
deceived. For
many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
So keep watch at all times, and pray that you may have the strength to escape all that is about to happen and to stand before the Son of Man.”
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
He answered, “When you enter the city, a
man carrying a
jug of water will meet you. Follow him to the house he enters,
And truly the Son of
man goeth, as it was determined: but
woe unto that
man by whom he is
betrayed!
Indeed, the Son of
Man will go as it has been determined, but
woe to that
man who betrays Him.”
And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called
Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to
kiss him.
While He was still speaking, a crowd arrived, led by the
man called
Judas, one of the Twelve. He approached Jesus to
kiss Him.
But Jesus said unto him,
Judas, betrayest thou the Son of
man with a
kiss?
And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and
healed him.
But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And He touched the
man’s ear and
healed him.
But a certain
maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This
man was also with him.
A servant
girl saw him seated in the firelight and looked intently at him. “This
man also was with Him,” she said.
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
A short time later, someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”
And about the space of one hour after another
confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
About an hour later, another
man insisted, “Certainly this
man was with Him, for he too is a
Galilean.”
And Peter said,
Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the
cock crew.
“
Man, I do not know what you are talking about,” Peter replied. While he was still speaking, the
rooster crowed.
And they said
many other
blasphemous things against Him.
Hereafter shall the Son of
man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

accuse him, saying, We found this fellow
perverting the nation, and
forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this
man.

man.”

glad: for he was
desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard
many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some
miracle done by him.
When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a
miracle.
Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.
Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.
Said unto them, Ye have brought this
man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this
man touching those things
whereof ye
accuse him:
and said to them, “You brought me this
man as one who was
inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.
And they
cried out all at once, saying, Away with this
man, and release unto us Barabbas:
But they all
cried out in
unison: “Away with this
man! Release Barabbas to us!”
And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore
chastise him, and let him go.
A third time he said to them, “What evil has this
man done? I have found in Him no
offense worthy of death. So after I
punish Him, I will release Him.”
And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this
man hath done nothing
amiss.
We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
Now when the
centurion saw what was done, he
glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous
man.
When the
centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous
man.”
And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
Now there was a Council member named Joseph, a good and righteous man,
He went to
Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
And he took it down, and
wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a
sepulchre that was
hewn in stone, wherein never
man before was laid.
Then he took it down,
wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.
Saying, The Son of
man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be
crucified, and the third day rise again.
‘The Son of
Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be
crucified, and on the third day rise again.’”
And he said unto them, What
manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are
sad?
He asked them, “What are you
discussing so intently as you walk along?” They stood still, with
sadness on their faces.
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of
Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
“What things?” He asked. “The events involving Jesus of
Nazareth,” they answered. “This
man was a prophet, powerful in speech and action before God and all the people.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
There came a man who was sent from God. His name was John.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
The true Light who gives light to every man was coming into the world.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.
No
man hath seen God at any time; the only
begotten Son, which is in the
bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
This is He of whom I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’
And I knew him not: but that he should be made
manifest to Israel, therefore am I come
baptizing with water.
I myself did not know Him, but the reason I came
baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to
baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
I myself did not know Him, but the One who sent me to
baptize with water told me, ‘The
man on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is He who will
baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
And he saith unto him,
Verily,
verily, I say unto you,
Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of
man.
Then He declared, “Truly, truly, I tell you, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the
manner of the
purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins
apiece.
Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of
purification. Each could hold from twenty to thirty gallons.
And saith unto him, Every
man at the beginning
doth set forth good wine; and when men have well
drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
and said, “
Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the
cheap wine after the guests are
drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!”
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in
Cana of
Galilee, and
manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Jesus performed this, the first of His signs, at
Cana in
Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
After this he went down to
Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not
many days.
After this, He went down to
Capernaum with His mother and brothers and His disciples, and they stayed there a few days.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the
passover, in the feast day,
many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
While He was in Jerusalem at the
Passover Feast,
many people saw the signs He was doing and believed in His name.
And needed not that any should
testify of
man: for he knew what was in
man.
He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him,
Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no
man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
He came to Jesus at night and said, “
Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”
Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a
man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s
womb, and be born?
“How can a
man be born when he is old?”
Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s
womb a second time to be born?”
Jesus answered,
Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Just as Moses lifted up the
snake in the wilderness, so the Son of
Man must be lifted up,
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
But
whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
In fact, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. You have spoken truthfully.”
And upon this came his disciples, and
marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no
man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”
And
many of the
Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which
testified, He told me all that ever I did.
Many of the
Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
And many more believed because of his own word;
And many more believed because of His message.
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this
man truly is the
Savior of the world.”
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
“Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.
And a certain
man was there, which had an
infirmity thirty and eight years.
One
man there had been an
invalid for thirty-eight years.
