And when
Abram heard that his brother was taken
captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and
pursued them unto
Dan.
And when
Abram heard that his relative had been captured, he
mobilized the 318 trained men born in his household, and they set out in pursuit as far as
Dan.
And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and
smote them, and
pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
During the night,
Abram divided his forces and routed
Chedorlaomer’s army, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.

pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount
Gilead.
So he took his relatives with him,
pursued Jacob for seven days, and overtook him in the hill country of
Gilead.
And Jacob was
wroth, and
chode with
Laban: and Jacob answered and said to
Laban, What is my
trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly
pursued after me?
Then Jacob became incensed and
challenged Laban. “What is my crime?” he said. “For what sin of mine have you so hotly
pursued me?
And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
As they set out, a terror from God fell over the surrounding cities, so that they did not pursue Jacob’s sons.
And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his
steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou
dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?
They had not gone far from the city when Joseph told his
steward, “
Pursue the men at once, and when you overtake them, ask, ‘Why have you repaid good with evil?
And I will
harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
And I will
harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will
pursue them. But I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So this is what the Israelites did.
And the LORD
hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he
pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
And the LORD
hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt so that he
pursued the Israelites, who were marching out defiantly.
But the Egyptians
pursued after them, all the horses and
chariots of Pharaoh, and his
horsemen, and his army, and overtook them
encamping by the sea, beside
Pi-hahiroth, before
Baal-zephon.
The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses and
chariots,
horsemen and troops—
pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near
Pi-hahiroth, opposite
Baal-zephon.
And the Egyptians
pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his
chariots, and his
horsemen.
And the Egyptians
chased after them—all Pharaoh’s horses,
chariots, and
horsemen—and followed them into the sea.
The enemy said, I will
pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the
spoil; my
lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
The enemy declared, ‘I will
pursue, I will overtake. I will divide the spoils; I will
gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.’
And ye shall
chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.
And five of you shall
chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
Five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you will pursue ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.
And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that
hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall
flee when none
pursueth you.
And I will set My face against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who
hate you will rule over you, and you will
flee when no one
pursues you.
And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a
shaken leaf shall
chase them; and they shall
flee, as
fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none
pursueth.
As for those of you who
survive, I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, so that even the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. And they will
flee as one flees the sword, and fall when no one
pursues them.
And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
They will
stumble over one another as before the sword, though no one is behind them. So you will not be able to stand against your enemies.
And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their
chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they
pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
what He did to the Egyptian army and horses and
chariots when He made the waters of the Red Sea
engulf them as they
pursued you, and how He destroyed them completely, even to this day;
That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and
inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Pursue justice, and justice alone, so that you may live, and you may possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Lest the
avenger of the blood
pursue the
slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and
slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he
hated him not in time past.
Otherwise, the
avenger of blood might
pursue the
manslayer in a
rage, overtake him if the distance is great, and strike him dead though he did not deserve to die, since he did not intend any
harm.
The LORD shall
smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with
mildew; and they shall
pursue thee until thou perish.
The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with
scorching heat and
drought, and with
blight and
mildew; these will
pursue you until you perish.
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
All these curses will come upon you. They will pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, since you did not obey the LORD your God and keep the commandments and statutes He gave you.
How should one
chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
How could one man pursue a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?
And it came to pass about the time of
shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out:
whither the men went I
wot not:
pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.
At
dusk, when the gate was about to close, the men went out, and I do not know which way they went.
Pursue them quickly, and you may catch them!”
And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.
So the king’s men set out in pursuit of the
spies along the road to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as they had gone out, the gate was shut.
And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the
pursuers meet you; and hide
yourselves there three days, until the
pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
“Go to the hill country,” she said, “so that your
pursuers will not find you. Hide
yourselves there for three days until they have returned; then go on your way.”
And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.
So the
spies went out into the hill country and stayed there three days, until their
pursuers had returned without finding them, having searched all along the road.
(For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They
flee before us, as at the first: therefore we will
flee before them.
They will
pursue us until we have drawn them away from the city, for they will say, ‘The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.’ So as we
flee from them,
And all the people that were in
Ai were called together to
pursue after them: and they
pursued after Joshua, and were drawn away from the city.
Then all the men of
Ai were summoned to
pursue them, and they followed Joshua and were drawn away from the city.
And there was not a man left in
Ai or
Bethel, that went not out after Israel: and they left the city open, and
pursued after Israel.
Not a man was left in
Ai or
Bethel who did not go out after Israel, leaving the city wide open while they
pursued Israel.
And when the men of
Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to
flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the
pursuers.
When the men of
Ai turned and looked back, the smoke of the city was rising into the sky. They could not escape in any direction, and the troops who had fled to the wilderness now became the
pursuers.
And it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of
slaying all the inhabitants of
Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they
chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto
Ai, and
smote it with the edge of the sword.
When Israel had finished killing all the men of
Ai who had
pursued them into the field and wilderness, and when every last one of them had fallen by the sword, all the Israelites returned to
Ai and put it to the sword as well.
And the LORD
discomfited them before Israel, and
slew them with a great slaughter at
Gibeon, and
chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and
smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
And the LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great slaughter at
Gibeon,
pursued them along the
ascent to Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.
And stay ye not, but
pursue after your enemies, and
smite the
hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
But you, do not stop there. Pursue your enemies and attack them from behind. Do not let them reach their cities, for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”
And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who
smote them, and
chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-
maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they
smote them, until they left them none remaining.
and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who struck them down and
pursued them all the way to Greater
Sidon and Misrephoth-
maim, and eastward as far as the Valley of Mizpeh. They struck them down, leaving no survivors.
Now if the
avenger of blood
pursues him, they must not surrender the
manslayer into his hand, because that man killed his
neighbor accidentally without prior
malice.
And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians
pursued after your fathers with
chariots and
horsemen unto the Red sea.
When I brought your fathers out of Egypt and you reached the Red Sea, the Egyptians
pursued them with
chariots and
horsemen as far as the Red Sea.
But Adoni-bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
As Adoni-bezek fled, they
pursued him, seized him, and cut off his thumbs and
big toes.
But
Barak pursued after the
chariots, and after the host, unto
Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
Then
Barak pursued the
chariots and army as far as
Harosheth-hagoyim, and the whole army of Sisera fell by the sword; not a single man was left.
And, behold, as
Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will
shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the
nail was in his temples.
When
Barak arrived in pursuit of Sisera, Jael went out to
greet him and said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man you are seeking.” So he went in with her, and there lay Sisera dead, with a tent
peg through his temple.
And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of
Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all
Manasseh, and
pursued after the Midianites.
Then the men of Israel were called out from
Naphtali, Asher, and all
Manasseh, and they
pursued the Midianites.
And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they
slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they
slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and
pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to
Gideon on the other side Jordan.
They also captured Oreb and Zeeb, the two princes of
Midian; and they killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. So they
pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to
Gideon on the other side of the Jordan.
And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, he
pursued after them, and took the two kings of
Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and
discomfited all the host.
When Zebah and Zalmunna fled,
Gideon pursued and captured these two kings of
Midian, routing their entire army.
And
Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the gate.
but
Abimelech pursued him, and Gaal fled before him. And many Shechemites fell wounded all the way to the entrance of the gate.
Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and
chased them, and
trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the
sunrising.
They surrounded the Benjamites, pursued them, and easily overtook them in the vicinity of Gibeah on the east.
And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of
Rimmon: and they
gleaned of them in the
highways five thousand men; and
pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and
slew two thousand men of them.
Then the Benjamites turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of
Rimmon, and Israel cut down 5,000 men on the roads. And they overtook them at Gidom and struck down 2,000 more.
And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and
pursued the Philistines, and
smote them, until they came under Beth-
car.
Then the men of Israel charged out of
Mizpah and
pursued the Philistines, striking them down all the way to an area below Beth-
car.
And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and
shouted, and
pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of
Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto
Gath, and unto
Ekron.
Then the men of Israel and Judah charged forward with a
shout and
pursued the Philistines to the entrance of
Gath and to the gates of
Ekron. And the bodies of the Philistines were
strewn along the Shaaraim road to
Gath and
Ekron.
Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
and Saul and his men went to seek him. When David was told about it, he went down to the rock and stayed in the Wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard of this, he pursued David there.
After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom
dost thou
pursue? after a dead dog, after a
flea.
Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom are you pursuing? A dead dog? A
flea?
Yet a man is risen to
pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the
bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he
sling out, as out of the middle of a
sling.
And should someone
pursue you and seek your life, then the life of my lord will be bound securely by the LORD your God in the
bundle of the living. But He shall
fling away the lives of your enemies like stones from a
sling.
And he said, Wherefore
doth my lord thus
pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in mine hand?
And he continued, “Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done? What evil is in my hand?
And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I
pursue after this
troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him,
Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
and David inquired of the LORD: “Should I
pursue these raiders? Will I overtake them?” “
Pursue them,” the LORD replied, “for you will surely overtake them and
rescue the
captives.”
But David
pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so
faint that they could not go over the
brook Besor.
because two hundred men were too exhausted to cross the
brook. But David and four hundred men continued in pursuit.
And
Asahel pursued after
Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following
Abner.
and he
chased Abner, not turning to the right or to the left in his pursuit.
Joab also and
Abishai pursued after
Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by the way of the wilderness of
Gibeon.
But
Joab and
Abishai pursued Abner. By
sunset, they had gone as far as the hill of Ammah opposite Giah on the way to the wilderness of
Gibeon.
So
Joab blew a
trumpet, and all the people stood still, and
pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.
So
Joab blew the ram’s horn, and all the troops stopped; they no longer
pursued Israel or continued to fight.
Moreover
Ahithophel said unto
Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and
pursue after David this night:
And David said to
Abishai, Now shall
Sheba the son of Bichri do us more
harm than did
Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and
pursue after him, lest he get him
fenced cities, and escape us.
And David said to
Abishai, “Now
Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more
harm than
Absalom. Take your lord’s servants and
pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and
elude us.”
And there went out after him
Joab’s men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to
pursue after
Sheba the son of Bichri.
So
Joab’s men, along with the Cherethites, the Pelethites, and all the mighty men, marched out of Jerusalem in pursuit of
Sheba son of Bichri.
But
Amasa took no
heed to the sword that was in
Joab’s hand: so he
smote him
therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his
bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So
Joab and
Abishai his brother
pursued after
Sheba the son of Bichri.
When he was removed out of the
highway, all the people went on after
Joab, to
pursue after
Sheba the son of Bichri.
As soon as
Amasa’s body was removed from the road, all the men went on with
Joab to
pursue Sheba son of Bichri.
I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.
I pursued my enemies and destroyed them; I did not turn back until they were consumed.
So
Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or
wilt thou
flee three months before thine enemies, while they
pursue thee? or that there be three days’
pestilence in thy land? now
advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.
So
Gad went and said to David, “Do you choose to
endure three years of famine in your land, three months of
fleeing the pursuit of your enemies, or three days of plague upon your land? Now then, think it over and decide how I should reply to Him who sent me.”
And they
slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel
pursued them: and Ben-
hadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the
horsemen.
and each one struck down his
opponent. So the Arameans fled, with the Israelites in pursuit. But Ben-
hadad king of
Aram escaped on
horseback with the cavalry.
So Gehazi followed after
Naaman. And when
Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the
chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?
So Gehazi
pursued Naaman. And when
Naaman saw him running toward him, he got down from the
chariot to meet him and asked, “Is everything all right?”
But when
Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And
Jehu followed after him, and said,
Smite him also in the
chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to
Megiddo, and died there.
When King
Ahaziah of Judah saw this, he fled up the road toward Beth-haggan. And
Jehu pursued him,
shouting, “Shoot him too!” So they shot
Ahaziah in his
chariot on the
Ascent of Gur, near Ibleam, and he fled to
Megiddo and died there.
And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his
testimonies which he
testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
They rejected His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They
pursued worthless idols and themselves became worthless, going after the surrounding nations that the LORD had commanded them not to
imitate.
And the army of the Chaldees
pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of
Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.
but the army of the Chaldeans
pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of
Jericho, and all his army was separated from him.
And
Abijah pursued after
Jeroboam, and took cities from him,
Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.
Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured some cities from him:
Bethel, Jeshanah, and Ephron, along with their villages.
And
Asa and the people that were with him
pursued them unto
Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much
spoil.
Then
Asa and his army
pursued them as far as
Gerar. The Cushites fell and could not recover, for they were
crushed before the LORD and His army. So the people of Judah carried off a great amount of
plunder And thou
didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.
You divided the sea before them, and they crossed through it on dry ground. You
hurled their
pursuers into the depths like a stone into
raging waters.
Terrors are turned upon me: they
pursue my soul as the wind: and my
welfare passeth away as a cloud.
Terrors are turned loose against me; they drive away my dignity as by the wind, and my prosperity has passed like a cloud.
O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that
persecute me, and deliver me:
O LORD my God, I take refuge in You; save me and deliver me from all my pursuers,
Let the enemy
persecute my soul, and take it;
yea, let him
tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust.
Selah.
then may my enemy
pursue me and overtake me; may he
trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust.
Selah The wicked in his pride
doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
In pride the wicked
pursue the
needy; let them be caught in the schemes they
devise.
I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back until they were consumed.
My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that
persecute me.
My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Draw out also the
spear, and stop the way against them that
persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
Draw the
spear and
javelin against my
pursuers; say to my soul: “I am your salvation.”
May their path be dark and
slick, as the angel of the LORD
pursues.
Mine enemies would daily
swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
My enemies
pursue me all day long, for many proudly
assail me.
Saying, God hath
forsaken him:
persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
saying, “God has
forsaken him;
pursue him and seize him, for there is no one to
rescue him.”
Because that he remembered not to
shew mercy, but
persecuted the poor and
needy man, that he might even
slay the broken in heart.
For he never thought to show kindness, but
pursued the poor and
needy and brokenhearted, even to their death.
Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.
Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low.
Rescue me from my
pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
For the enemy hath
persecuted my soul; he hath
smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
For the enemy has
pursued my soul,
crushing my life to the ground, making me dwell in darkness like those long since dead.
As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
Genuine righteousness leads to life, but the pursuit of evil brings death.
Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repaid.
Disaster pursues sinners, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous.
The way of the wicked is an
abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.
Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
He who isolates himself
pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment.
All the brethren of the poor do
hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he
pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
All the brothers of a poor man
hate him— how much more do his friends avoid him! He may
pursue them with
pleading, but they are nowhere to be found.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
He who pursues righteousness and loving devotion finds life, righteousness, and honor.
The wicked
flee when no man
pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
The wicked
flee when no one
pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
But ye said, No; for we will
flee upon horses; therefore shall ye
flee: and, We will
ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that
pursue you be swift.
“No,” you say, “we will
flee on horses.” Therefore you will
flee! “We will
ride swift horses,” but your
pursuers will be faster.
He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.
He pursues them, going on safely, hardly touching the path with his feet.
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are
hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are
digged.
“
Listen to Me, you who
pursue righteousness, you who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the
quarry from which you were
hewn.
Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
How
skillfully you
pursue love! Even the most immoral of women could learn from your ways.
I
hearkened and heard, but they spake not
aright: no man
repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.
I have
listened and heard; they do not speak what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, asking, ‘What have I done?’
Everyone has
pursued his own course like a horse charging into battle.
And I will
persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the
pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a
curse, and an
astonishment, and an
hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations
whither I have driven them:
I will
pursue them with sword and famine and plague. I will make them a
horror to all the kingdoms of the earth—a
curse, a
desolation, and an object of
scorn and reproach among all the nations to which I
banish them.
