I will surely
assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the
remnant of Israel; I will
put them together as the sheep of
Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will collect the
remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in the midst of its pasture— a
noisy throng.
Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people
err, that
bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that
putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
This is what the LORD says: “As for the prophets who lead My people
astray, who
proclaim peace while they
chew with their teeth, but declare war against one who
puts nothing in their mouths:
Trust ye not in a friend,
put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy
bosom.
Do not
rely on a friend; do not trust in a companion. Seal the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms.
The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be
deaf.
Nations will see and be
ashamed, deprived of all their might. They will
put their hands over their mouths, and their ears will become
deaf.
Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite;
Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
Cush and Egypt were her boundless strength;
Put and
Libya were her allies.
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that
puttest thy
bottle to him, and makest him
drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!
Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin until they are
drunk, in order to
gaze at their nakedness!
In that day shalt thou not be
ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast
transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that
rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be
haughty because of my holy mountain.
On that day you will not be
put to shame for any of the deeds by which you have
transgressed against Me. For then I will remove from among you those who
rejoice in their pride, and you will never again be
haughty on My holy mountain.
Behold, at that time I will
undo all that
afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been
put to shame.
Behold, at that time, I will deal with all who
afflict you. I will save the
lame and gather the scattered; and I will
appoint praise and fame for the disgraced throughout the earth.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye
clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to
put it into a
bag with holes.
You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your fill. You
put on clothes but never get warm. You
earn wages to
put into a
bag pierced through.”
And I said, Let them set a fair
mitre upon his head. So they set a fair
mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.
Then I said, “Let them
put a clean
turban on his head.” So a clean
turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him, as the angel of the LORD stood by.
And they shall be as mighty men, which
tread down their enemies in the
mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
They will be like mighty men in battle,
trampling the enemy in the
mire of the streets. They will fight because the LORD is with them, and they will
put the
horsemen to shame.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be
ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath
prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to
deceive:
And on that day every prophet who prophesies will be
ashamed of his vision, and he will not
put on a
hairy cloak in order to
deceive.
For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth
putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take
heed to your spirit, that ye deal not
treacherously.
“For I
hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel. “He who divorces his wife covers his garment with violence,” says the LORD of Hosts. So guard
yourselves in your spirit and do not break faith.

diligently enquired of the wise men.

Neither do men light a
candle, and
put it under a
bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Neither do people light a lamp and
put it under a
basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to
everyone in the house.
But I tell you that
anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings
adultery upon her. And he who marries a
divorced woman commits
adultery.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall
put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment?
Therefore I tell you, do not
worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
And Jesus
put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his
leprosy was

cleansed.
No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
No one sews a
patch of
unshrunk cloth on an old garment. For the
patch will pull away from the garment, and a worse
tear will result.
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will
burst, the wine will
spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

put to death.
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will
put my spirit upon him, and he shall
shew judgment to the Gentiles.
“Here is My Servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom My soul delights. I will
put My Spirit on Him, and He will
proclaim justice to the nations.
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
In His name the nations will put their hope.”

put in order.
Another parable
put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is
likened unto a man which
sowed good seed in his field:
Jesus
put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who
sowed good seed in his field.
Another parable
put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of
mustard seed, which a man took, and
sowed in his field:

put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a
mustard seed that a man planted in his field.

put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for
Elijah.”

perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him
hither to me.

perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I
put up with you? Bring the boy here to Me.”
The
Pharisees also came unto him,
tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to
put away his wife for every cause?
Then some
Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to
divorce his wife for any reason?”
Wherefore they are no more
twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man
put asunder.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of
divorcement, and to
put her away?
“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a
certificate of
divorce and send her away?”
He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to
divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart; but it was not this way from the beginning.
Now I tell you that
whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits
adultery.”
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should
put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples

And brought the
ass, and the

put a wall around it,
dug a winepress in it, and built a tower. Then he rented it out to some tenants and went away on a journey.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and
putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is
nigh:
Now learn this
lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and
sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the others their food at the proper time?
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
The servant who had received the five talents went at once and put them to work and gained five more.
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’

put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with

Are you not aware that I can call on My Father, and He will at once
put at My
disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
Now the chief priests and the whole
Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus in order to
put Him to death.

put Him to death.

And when they had
platted a crown of thorns, they
put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the
knee before him, and
mocked him, saying,
Hail, King of the Jews!
And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They
put a staff in His right hand and
knelt down before Him to
mock Him, saying, “
Hail, King of the Jews!”
And after that they had
mocked him, they took the
robe off from him, and
put his own
raiment on him, and led him away to
crucify him.
After they had
mocked Him, they removed the
robe and
put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him away to
crucify Him.
And
straightway one of them ran, and took a
spunge, and filled it with
vinegar, and
put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
One of them quickly ran and brought a
sponge. He filled it with
sour wine,
put it on a reed, and held it up for Jesus to drink.

And no man
putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine
doth burst the bottles, and the wine is
spilled, and the bottles will be

burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins.”

candle brought to be
put under a

basket or under a bed? Doesn’t he set it on a stand?

laughed him to
scorn. But when he had
put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the

damsel was lying.

laughed at Him. After He had
put them all outside, He took the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and went in to see the child.

spit on the man’s eyes and placed His hands on him. “Can you see anything?” He asked.

Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
And he saith unto them,
Whosoever shall
put away his wife, and marry another, committeth
adultery against her.
So He told them, “
Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits
adultery against her.
And if a woman shall
put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth
adultery.
And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits
adultery.”
And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them.
And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a
vineyard, and set an
hedge about it, and
digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to

Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more than all the others into the treasury.
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
For they all contributed out of their
surplus, but she out of her poverty has
put in all she had to live on.”
Now the brother shall
betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be
put to death.

put to death.

For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
It is like a man going on a journey who left his house,
put each servant in charge of his own task, and
instructed the
doorkeeper to keep watch.

put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if
Elijah comes to take Him down.”
And he saith unto them, Be not
affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of

crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
But he said to them, “Do not be
alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the
Nazarene, who was
crucified. He has risen! He is not here! See the place where they
put Him.
He hath
put down the mighty from their seats, and
exalted them of low degree.
He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has
exalted the humble.
And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not
tempt the Lord thy God.
But Jesus answered, “It also says, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
