For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.
For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
Reach down from on high; set me free and
rescue me from the deep waters, from the
grasp of foreigners,
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor;
yea, she
reacheth forth her hands to the
needy.
She opens her arms to the poor and
reaches out her hands to the
needy.
That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
What exists is out of
reach and very deep. Who can
fathom it?
And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall
reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O
Immanuel.
It will pour into Judah,
swirling and
sweeping over it,
reaching up to the neck; its spreading streams will cover your entire land, O
Immanuel!
And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or
peeped.
My hand
reached as into a nest to seize the wealth of the nations. Like one gathering abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth. No wing
fluttered, no
beak opened or
chirped.’”
The infant will play by the
cobra’s den, and the
toddler will
reach into the
viper’s nest.
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will
ascend into heaven, I will
exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
You said in your heart: “I will
ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far
reaches of the north.
For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the
howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the
howling thereof unto Beer-elim.
For their outcry
echoes to the border of Moab. Their
wailing reaches Eglaim; it is heard in Beer-elim.
For the fields of
Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they
wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.
For the fields of
Heshbon have
withered, along with the grapevines of Sibmah. The rulers of the nations have
trampled its choicest vines, which had
reached as far as Jazer and spread toward the desert. Their shoots had spread out and passed over the sea.
The burden of Tyre.
Howl, ye ships of
Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of
Chittim it is revealed to them.
This is the burden against Tyre:
Wail, O ships of
Tarshish, for Tyre is laid waste, without house or
harbor. Word has
reached them from the land of
Cyprus.
As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be
sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
When the report
reaches Egypt, they will
writhe in
agony over the news of Tyre.
And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall
reach to the midst of the neck, to
sift the nations with the
sieve of vanity: and there shall be a
bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to
err.
His breath is like a
rushing torrent that rises to the neck. He comes to
sift the nations in a
sieve of destruction; He bridles the jaws of the peoples to lead them
astray.
By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my
chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his
Carmel.
Through your servants you have
taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many
chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of
Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its
cypresses. I have
reached its
farthest heights, the densest of its forests.
Because thy
rage against me, and thy
tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my
bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
Because your
rage and
arrogance against Me have
reached My ears, I will put My hook in your nose and My
bit in your mouth; I will send you back the way you came.’
Therefore is judgment far from us, neither
doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not
reach us. We hope for light, but there is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in
gloom.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the
sinner being an hundred years old shall be
accursed.
No longer will a
nursing infant live but a few days, or an old man fail to live out his years. For the youth will die at a hundred years, and he who fails to
reach a hundred will be considered
accursed.
Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
Then the LORD reached out His hand, touched my mouth, and said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
Then said I,
Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly
deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword
reacheth unto the soul.
Then I said, “
Ah, Lord GOD, how completely You have
deceived this people and Jerusalem by saying, ‘You will have peace,’ while a sword is at our throats.”
Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
“Your ways and deeds have brought this upon you. This is your punishment; how bitter it is, because it pierces to the heart!”
And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.
But when he reached the Gate of Benjamin, the captain of the guard, whose name was Irijah son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, seized him and said, “You are deserting to the Chaldeans!”
O vine of Sibmah, I will
weep for thee with the
weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they
reach even to the sea of Jazer: the
spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy
vintage.
I will
weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, more than I
weep for Jazer. Your tendrils have extended to the sea; they
reach even to Jazer. The destroyer has descended on your summer fruit and
grape harvest.
We would have
healed Babylon, but she is not
healed:
forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment
reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the
skies.
“We tried to
heal Babylon, but she could not be
healed.
Abandon her! Let each of us go to his own land, for her judgment extends to the sky and
reaches to the clouds.”
And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
Then I looked and saw a hand
reaching out to me, and in it was a
scroll,
And one
cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.
Then one of the
cherubim reached out his hand and took some of the fire that was among them. And he put it into the hands of the man clothed in linen, who received it and went out.
To the end that none of all the trees by the waters
exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the
nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
This happened so that no other trees by the waters would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and no other well-watered trees would
reach them in height. For they have all been
consigned to death, to the depths of the earth, among the mortals who descend to the Pit.’
The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
The tree grew large and strong; its top reached the sky, and it was visible to the ends of the earth.
The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
The tree you saw that grew large and strong, whose top reached the sky and was visible to all the earth,
It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
you, O king, are that tree! For you have become great and strong; your greatness has grown to reach the sky, and your dominion extends to the ends of the earth.
And when he came to the den, he
cried with a
lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
When he
reached the den, he
cried out in a voice of
anguish, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the
mastery of them, and
brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
At the command of the king, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions—they and their children and wives. And before they had
reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and
crushed all their bones.
And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
In the latter part of their reign, when the rebellion has
reached its full measure, an
insolent king, skilled in
intrigue, will come to the throne.
He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
He will
resolve to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and will
reach an agreement with the king of the South. He will give him a daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plan will not succeed or help him.
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
Blessed is he who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
For, lo, I will command, and I will
sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is
sifted in a
sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
“For surely I will give the command, and I will
shake the house of Israel among all the nations as grain is
sifted in a
sieve; but not a
pebble will
reach the ground.
For word came unto the king of
Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his
robe from him, and covered him with
sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
When word
reached the king of
Nineveh, he got up from his throne, took off his royal
robe, covered himself with
sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
For her wound is incurable; it has reached even Judah; it has approached the gate of my people, as far as Jerusalem itself.
And ye shall
flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall
reach unto Azal:
yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
You will
flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will
flee as you fled from the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his
leprosy was
cleansed.
Jesus
reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately his
leprosy was
cleansed.
But when they
persecute you in this city,
flee ye into another: for
verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
When they
persecute you in one town,
flee to the next. Truly I tell you, you will not
reach all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore
didst thou doubt?
Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will
persuade him, and secure you.
If this report reaches the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”
And Jesus, moved with
compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
Moved with
compassion, Jesus
reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
And seeing a fig tree
afar off having leaves, he came, if
haply he might find any thing
thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if there was any fruit on it. But when He reached it, He found nothing on it except leaves, since it was not the season for figs.
And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the
leprosy departed from him.
Jesus
reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately the
leprosy left him.

Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him, but they were unable to reach Him because of the crowd.
And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to
morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
But Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I will keep driving out demons and
healing people
today and
tomorrow, and on the third day I will
reach My
goal.’
For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about Me is
reaching its
fulfillment.”
Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land
whither they went.
Then they were willing to take Him into the boat, and at once the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the
sepulchre.
The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the
sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in. And he saw and believed.
Then saith he to Thomas,
reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and
reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Then
tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth
Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
When news of this
reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, they sent
Barnabas to Antioch.
Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to
vex certain of the church.
About that time, King Herod
reached out to
harm some who belonged to the church.
That they should seek the Lord, if
haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the
synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
When they
reached Ephesus, Paul parted ways with
Priscilla and
Aquila. He himself went into the
synagogue there and reasoned with the Jews.
For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not
spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of
Pentecost.
Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus to avoid
spending time in the province of Asia, because he was in a
hurry to
reach Jerusalem, if possible, by the day of
Pentecost.
And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
When Paul
reached the steps, he had to be carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the
mob.
And because the
haven was not
commodious to winter in, the more part
advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an
haven of
Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
Did the word of God
originate with you? Or are you the only ones it has
reached?
But we will not
boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to
reach even unto you.
We, however, will not
boast beyond our limits, but only within the field of influence that God has assigned to us—a field that
reaches even to you.
For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:
We are not
overstepping our bounds, as if we had not come to you. Indeed, we were the first to
reach you with the gospel of Christ.
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
stature of the
fulness of Christ:
until we all
reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we
mature to the full measure of the
stature of Christ.
Brethren, I count not myself to have
apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do:
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is
ahead,
Behold, the
hire of the labourers who have
reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by
fraud, crieth: and the
cries of them which have
reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of
sabaoth.
Look, the wages you
withheld from the workmen who
mowed your fields are crying out against you. The
cries of the harvesters have
reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
For her sins have
reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities.
For her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her
iniquities.
For our sins are multiplied above our heads, and our ignorances have reached up unto heaven.
Then opened I my mouth, and, behold, he reached me a full cup, which was full as it were with water, but the colour of it was like fire.
Wisdom
reacheth from one end to another
mightily: and sweetly
doth she order all things.
A prayer out of a poor man’s mouth reacheth to the ears of God, and his judgment cometh speedily.
When thou sittest among many, reach not thine hand out first of all.
He that serveth the Lord shall be accepted with favour, and his prayer shall reach unto the clouds.
And the man, that thought a little
afore he could
reach to the stars of heaven, no man could
endure to carry for his
intolerable stink.
