If I be wicked,
woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine
affliction;
If I am guilty,
woe to me! And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift my head. I am full of
shame and aware of my
affliction.
For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot;
yea, thou shalt be
stedfast, and shalt not fear:
then indeed you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and unafraid.
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not
ashamed that ye make
yourselves strange to me.
Ten times now you have reproached me; you
shamelessly mistreat me.
O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into
shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after
leasing?
Selah.
How long, O men, will my honor be
maligned? How long will you love vanity and seek after lies?
Selah Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be
ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
in You, my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to
shame; do not let my enemies
exult over me.
Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who are faithless without cause will be disgraced.
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be
ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be
ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; save me by Your righteousness.
Let me not be
ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be
ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.
O LORD, let me not be
ashamed, for I have called on You. Let the wicked be put to
shame; let them lie silent in
Sheol.
Let them be confounded and put to
shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that
devise my
hurt.
May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to
shame; may those who plan to
harm me be driven back and confounded.
Let them be
ashamed and brought to confusion together that
rejoice at mine
hurt: let them be clothed with
shame and dishonour that
magnify themselves against me.
May those who
gloat in my distress be
ashamed and confounded; may those who
exalt themselves over me be clothed in
shame and reproach.
Let them be
ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to
shame that wish me evil.
Let them be
desolate for a reward of their
shame that say unto me,
Aha,
aha.
But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to
shame that
hated us.
For You save us from our enemies; You put those who
hate us to
shame.

But You have rejected and humbled us; You no longer go forth with our armies.
My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
All day long my disgrace is before me, and shame has covered my face,
There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to
shame, because God hath
despised them.
There they are,
overwhelmed with
dread, where there was nothing to fear. For God has scattered the bones of those who besieged you. You put them to
shame, for God has
despised them.
Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
For I have
endured scorn for Your sake, and
shame has covered my face.
Thou hast known my reproach, and my
shame, and my dishonour: mine
adversaries are all before thee.
You know my reproach, my
shame and disgrace. All my
adversaries are before You.
Let them be turned back for a reward of their
shame that say,
Aha,
aha.
May those who say, “
Aha,
aha!” retreat because of their
shame.
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.
My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto
shame, that seek my
hurt.
My tongue will indeed
proclaim Your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my
harm are disgraced and confounded.
Do not let the
oppressed retreat in
shame; may the poor and
needy praise Your name.
And he
smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.
He beat back His foes; He put them to
everlasting shame.
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
Cover their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O LORD.
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever;
yea, let them be put to
shame, and perish:
The days of his youth hast thou
shortened: thou hast covered him with
shame.
Selah.
You have cut short the days of his youth; You have covered him with
shame.
Selah Confounded be all they that serve
graven images, that
boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
All worshipers of images are put to
shame— those who
boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!
Though they
curse, You will
bless. When they rise up, they will be put to
shame, but Your servant will
rejoice.
Let mine
adversaries be clothed with
shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a
mantle.
May my accusers be clothed with disgrace; may they wear their
shame like a
robe.
Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not
ashamed.
May my heart be
blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be put to
shame.
Happy is the man that hath his
quiver full of them: they shall not be
ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Blessed is the man whose
quiver is full of them. He will not be put to
shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.
Let them all be confounded and turned back that
hate Zion.
May all who
hate Zion be turned back in
shame.
His enemies will I
clothe with
shame: but upon himself shall his crown
flourish.
I will
clothe his enemies with
shame, but the crown upon him will
gleam.”
The wise shall
inherit glory: but
shame shall be the promotion of fools.
The wise will
inherit honor, but fools are held up to
shame.
He that reproveth a
scorner getteth to himself
shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a
blot.
He who corrects a
mocker brings
shame on himself; he who rebukes a wicked man taints himself.
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
It is as
sport to a
fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
The
fool delights in
shameful conduct, but a man of understanding has wisdom.
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with
humility comes wisdom.
A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but she who causes shame is like decay in his bones.
A
fool’s wrath is presently known: but a
prudent man covereth
shame.
A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is
loathsome, and cometh to
shame.
The righteous
hate falsehood, but the wicked bring
shame and disgrace.
Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
Poverty and
shame come to him who ignores discipline, but
whoever heeds correction is honored.
The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
A king delights in a wise servant, but his anger falls on the shameful.
A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.
A wise servant will rule over a disgraceful son and share his inheritance as one of the brothers.
When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with
ignominy reproach.
With a wicked man comes contempt as well, and shame is accompanied by disgrace.
