And unto
Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of
silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

Sarah, “See, I am giving your brother a thousand pieces of
silver. It is your
vindication before all who are with you; you are completely cleared.”
My lord,
hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of
silver; what is that
betwixt me and thee?
bury therefore thy dead.
“
Listen to me, my lord. The land is worth four hundred shekels of
silver, but what is that between you and me?
Bury your dead.”
And Abraham
hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham
weighed to Ephron the

Abraham agreed to Ephron’s terms and
weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the
Hittites: four hundred shekels of
silver, according to the standard of the merchants.
And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and
silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and
asses.

silver and gold, menservants and maidservants, camels and

And the servant brought forth jewels of
silver, and jewels of gold, and
raiment, and gave them to

Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of

Then there passed by Midianites
merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of
silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.
So when the Midianite traders passed by, his brothers pulled Joseph out of the pit and sold him for twenty shekels of
silver to the
Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.
Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man’s money into his
sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.
Then Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain, to return each man’s
silver to his
sack, and to give them provisions for their journey. This order was carried out,
And as one of them opened his
sack to give his
ass provender in the inn, he

sack’s mouth.
At the place where they

donkey, and he saw his
silver in the mouth of the
sack.
And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
“My
silver has been returned!” he said to his brothers. “It is here in my
sack.” Their hearts
sank, and
trembling, they turned to one another and said, “What is this that God has done to us?”
And it came to pass as they
emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man’s
bundle of money was in his
sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.
As they began emptying their sacks, there in each man’s
sack was his
bag of
silver! And when they and their father saw the bags of
silver, they were dismayed.
And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand;
peradventure it was an oversight:
Take double the silver with you so that you may return the silver that was put back into the mouths of your sacks. Perhaps it was a mistake.
And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.
So the men took these gifts, along with double the amount of
silver, and Benjamin as well. Then they
hurried down to Egypt and stood before Joseph.
And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for
bondmen, and our
asses.
But the brothers were
frightened that they had been taken to Joseph’s house. “We have been brought here because of the
silver that was returned in our bags the first time,” they said. “They intend to overpower us and take us as slaves, along with our
donkeys.”
And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man’s money was in the mouth of his
sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.
But when we came to the place we
lodged for the night, we opened our sacks and, behold, each of us found his
silver in the mouth of his
sack! It was the full amount of our
silver, and we have brought it back with us.
And other money have we brought down in our hands to
buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks.
We have brought additional
silver with us to
buy food. We do not know who put our
silver in our sacks.”
And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you
treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought
Simeon out unto them.
“It is fine,” said the
steward. “Do not be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, gave you the
treasure that was in your sacks. I received your
silver.” Then he brought
Simeon out to them.
And he commanded the
steward of his house, saying, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man’s money in his
sack’s mouth.
Then Joseph
instructed his
steward: “Fill the men’s sacks with as much food as they can carry, and put each one’s
silver in the mouth of his
sack.
And put my cup, the
silver cup, in the
sack’s mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.
Put my cup, the
silver one, in the mouth of the youngest one’s
sack, along with the
silver for his grain.” So the
steward did as Joseph had
instructed.
Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of
Canaan: how then should we
steal out of thy lord’s house
silver or gold?
We even brought back to you from the land of
Canaan the
silver we found in the mouths of our sacks. Why would we
steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
To all of them he gave each man changes of
raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of

He gave new garments to each of them, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and five sets of clothes.
But every woman shall
borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of
silver, and jewels of gold, and
raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall
spoil the Egyptians.
Every woman shall ask her
neighbor and any woman staying in her house for
silver and gold
jewelry and clothing, and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will
plunder the Egyptians.”
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man
borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of
silver, and jewels of gold.
Now
announce to the people that men and women alike should ask their neighbors for articles of
silver and gold.”
And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of

yourselves gods of
silver or gold.

silver to the master of that servant, and the ox must be stoned.

silver, and in brass,
to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze,
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD:
whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and
silver, and brass,
Take from among you an offering to the LORD. Let
everyone whose heart is willing bring an offering to the LORD: gold,
silver, and bronze;
Every one that did offer an offering of
silver and brass brought the LORD’S offering: and every man, with whom was found
shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it.
And all who could present an offering of
silver or bronze brought it as a contribution to the LORD. Also,
everyone who had
acacia wood for any part of the service brought it.
And to
devise curious works, to work in gold, and in
silver, and in brass,
to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze,
And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.
with forty
silver bases to put under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each
tenon.
And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.
And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets.
So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
And he made
thereunto four pillars of
shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of
silver.
He also made four posts of
acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold, along with gold hooks; and he cast four
silver bases for the posts.

filleted them.
With the 1,775 shekels of silver he made the hooks for the posts, overlaid their tops, and supplied bands for them.

trespass unto the LORD a ram without
blemish out of the flocks, with thy

silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for a

This was the

anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of
silver, twelve
silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold:
So these were the offerings from the leaders of Israel for the
dedication of the altar when it was
anointed: twelve
silver platters, twelve

silver weighing an hundred and thirty shekels, each
bowl seventy: all the

And
Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of
silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.
But
Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, “If Balak were to give me his house full of
silver and gold, I could not do anything small or great to go beyond the command of the LORD my God.
If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
that even if Balak were to give me his house full of
silver and gold, I could not do anything of my own
accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the LORD? I will speak whatever the LORD says.
Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
Only the gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, and lead—
Ye shall
buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also
buy water of them for money, that ye may drink.
You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’”
Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet;
You can sell us food to eat and water to drink in exchange for silver. Only let us pass through on foot,
The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the
silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be
snared therein: for it is an
abomination to the LORD thy God.
You must burn up the images of their gods; do not
covet the
silver and gold that is on them or take it for
yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it; for it is
detestable to the LORD your God.
And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all that you have is multiplied,
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
He must not take many wives for himself, lest his heart go
astray. He must not
accumulate for himself large amounts of
silver and gold.
And they shall
amerce him in an hundred shekels of
silver, and give them unto the father of the
damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
They are also to fine him a hundred shekels of
silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because this man has given a virgin of Israel a bad name. And she shall remain his wife; he must not
divorce her as long as he lives.
Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the
damsel’s father fifty shekels of
silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
then the man who lay with her must pay the young woman’s father fifty shekels of
silver, and she must become his wife because he has
violated her. He must not
divorce her as long as he lives.
And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)
You saw the abominations and idols among them made of wood and stone, of silver and gold.
But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
For all the silver and gold and all the articles of bronze and iron are holy to the LORD; they must go into His treasury.”
And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
Then the Israelites burned up the city and everything in it. However, they put the silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the LORD’s house.
When I saw among the spoils a goodly
Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of
silver, and a
wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I
coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are
hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the
silver under it.
When I saw among the spoils a beautiful
cloak from
Shinar, two hundred shekels of
silver, and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels, I
coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the
silver underneath.”
So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was
hid in his tent, and the
silver under it.
So Joshua sent messengers who ran to the tent, and there it all was, hidden in his tent, with the
silver underneath.
And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took
Achan the son of Zerah, and the
silver, and the garment, and the
wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his
asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of
Achor.
Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took
Achan son of Zerah, the
silver, the
cloak, the bar of gold, his sons and daughters, his oxen and
donkeys and sheep, his tent, and everything else he owned, and brought them to the Valley of
Achor.
And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with
silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much
raiment: divide the
spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
saying, “Return to your homes with your great wealth, with immense herds of
livestock, with
silver, gold, bronze, iron, and very many clothes. Divide with your brothers the
spoil of your enemies.”
And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in
Shechem, in a
parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of
Shechem for an hundred pieces of
silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
And the bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up out of Egypt, were buried at
Shechem in the plot of land that Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor,
Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of
silver. So it became an inheritance for Joseph’s descendants.
The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of
Canaan in Taanach by the waters of
Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
Kings came and fought; then the kings of
Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of
Megiddo, but they took no
plunder of
silver.
So they gave him seventy shekels of
silver from the temple of
Baal-berith, with which
Abimelech hired some worthless and
reckless men to follow him.
And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her,
Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to
afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of
silver.
The lords of the Philistines went to her and said, “
Entice him and find out the source of his great strength and how we can overpower him to
tie him up and
subdue him. Then each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of
silver.”
And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my son.
said to his mother, “The eleven hundred shekels of
silver that were taken from you and about which I heard you utter a
curse—I have the
silver here with me; I took it.” Then his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the LORD!”
And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of
silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the
silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a
graven image and a

And when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of
silver to his mother, she said, “I wholly
dedicate the
silver to the LORD for my son’s benefit, to make a
graven image and a
