begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy
bosom, as a
nursing father beareth the
sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth, so that You should
tell me, ‘Carry them in your
bosom, as a
nurse carries an infant,’ to the land that You
swore to give their fathers?
And they will
tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by
daytime in a
pillar of a cloud, and in a
pillar of fire by night.
And they will
tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have already heard that You, O LORD, are in the midst of this people, that You, O LORD, have been seen face to face, that Your cloud stands over them, and that You go before them in a
pillar of cloud by day and a
pillar of fire by night.

spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.
When the
Canaanite king of
Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked Israel and captured some prisoners.

tell you.” So
