Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
For You have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy.
I will
abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in
the covert of thy wings.
Selah.
Let me dwell in Your tent
forever and take refuge in
the shelter of Your wings.
Selah For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me
the heritage of those that fear thy name.
For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name.
Thou
wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.
Increase the days of the king’s life; may his years span many generations.
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
Then I will ever sing praise to Your name and
fulfill my vows day by day.
They fully intend to cast him down from his lofty
perch;
they delight in lies; with
their mouths
they bless, but inwardly
they curse.
Selah In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
My salvation and my honor rest on God, my strong rock; my refuge is in God.
Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in
robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon
them.
Place no trust in
extortion, or false hope in
stolen goods. If your riches increase, do not set your heart upon
them.
Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
and loving devotion to You, O Lord. For You will repay each man according to his deeds.
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek
thee: my soul thirsteth for
thee, my flesh longeth for
thee in a dry and
thirsty land, where no water is;
O God, You are my God. Earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You. My body yearns for You in a dry and
weary land without water.
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
So I have seen You in
the sanctuary and
beheld Your power and glory.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Because Your loving devotion is better than life, my lips will
glorify You.
Thus will I
bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
So I will
bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift my hands.
My soul shall be satisfied as with
marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise
thee with joyful lips:
My soul is satisfied as with the richest of foods; with joyful lips my mouth will praise You.
When I remember
thee upon my bed, and
meditate on
thee in
the night watches.
When I remember You on my bed, I think of You through the watches of the night.
Because thou hast been my help,
therefore in
the shadow of thy wings will I
rejoice.
For You are my help; I will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
But those who seek my life to destroy it will go into the depths of the earth.
They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
They will fall to the power of the sword; they will become a portion for foxes.
But
the king shall
rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but
the mouth of
them that speak lies shall be stopped.
But
the king will
rejoice in God; all who
swear by Him will
exult, for
the mouths of liars will be shut.
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hear, O God, my voice of
complaint; preserve my life from
dread of
the enemy.
Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
Hide me from
the scheming of
the wicked, from
the mob of workers of iniquity,
Who
whet their tongue like a sword, and bend
their bows to shoot
their arrows, even bitter words:
who
sharpen their tongues like swords and aim
their bitter words like arrows,
That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
They encourage themselves in an evil matter:
they commune of laying snares
privily;
they say, Who shall see
them?
They hold fast to their evil purpose; they speak of hiding their snares. “Who will see them?” they say.
They devise injustice and say, “We have perfected a secret plan.” For
the inner man and
the heart are
mysterious.
But God shall shoot at
them with an
arrow; suddenly shall
they be wounded.
But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be wounded.
So
they shall make
their own tongue to fall upon
themselves: all that see
them shall
flee away.
They will be made to
stumble,
their own tongues turned against
them. All who see will
shake their heads.
And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
Then all mankind will fear and
proclaim the work of God; so
they will
ponder what He has done.
The righteous shall be
glad in
the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all
the upright in heart shall glory.
Let
the righteous
rejoice in
the LORD and take refuge in Him; let all
the upright in heart
exult.
Praise waiteth for
thee, O God, in
Sion: and unto
thee shall
the vow be performed.
Praise awaits You, O God, in
Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled.
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
O You who
listen to prayer, all people will come to You.
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt
purge them away.
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
Blessed is
the one You choose and bring near to dwell in Your courts! We are filled with
the goodness of Your house,
the holiness of Your temple.
By terrible things in righteousness
wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art
the confidence of all
the ends of
the earth, and of
them that are
afar off upon
the sea:
With
awesome deeds of righteousness You answer us, O God of our salvation,
the hope of all
the ends of
the earth and of
the farthest seas.
Which by his strength setteth fast
the mountains; being
girded with power:
You formed
the mountains by Your power, having
girded Yourself with might.
Which stilleth
the noise of
the seas,
the noise of
their waves, and
the tumult of
the people.
You stilled
the roaring of
the seas,
the pounding of
their waves, and
the tumult of
the nations.
They also that dwell in
the uttermost parts are afraid at thy
tokens: thou makest
the outgoings of
the morning and evening to
rejoice.
Those who live far away fear Your wonders; You make
the dawn and
sunset shout for joy.
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
You attend to
the earth and water it; with abundance You
enrich it.
The streams of God are full of water, for You prepare our grain by providing for
the earth.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.
You
soak its furrows and level its ridges; You
soften it with showers and
bless its growth.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
You crown
the year with Your
bounty, and Your paths overflow with
plenty.
They drop upon
the pastures of
the wilderness: and
the little hills
rejoice on every side.
The pastures of
the wilderness overflow;
the hills are
robed with joy.
The pastures are clothed with flocks;
the valleys also are covered over with corn;
they shout for joy,
they also sing.
The pastures are clothed with flocks, and
the valleys are decked with grain.
They shout in triumph; indeed,
they sing.
Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth!
Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.
Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Say to God, “How
awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You.
All
the earth shall worship
thee, and shall sing unto
thee;
they shall sing to thy name.
Selah.
All
the earth bows down to You;
they sing praise to You;
they sing praise to Your name.”
Selah Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
Come and see
the works of God; how
awesome are His deeds toward mankind.
He turned
the sea into dry land:
they went through
the flood on foot:
there did we
rejoice in him.
He turned
the sea into dry land;
they passed through
the waters on foot;
there we
rejoiced in Him.
He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold
the nations: let not
the rebellious exalt themselves.
Selah.
O
bless our God, ye people, and make
the voice of his praise to be heard:
Bless our God, O peoples; let
the sound of His praise be heard.
Thou broughtest us into
the net; thou laidst
affliction upon our loins.
You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs.
I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will
fulfill my vows to You—
Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress.
I will offer unto
thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with
the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats.
Selah.
I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with
the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats.
Selah If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
But
verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to
the voice of my prayer.
But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
O let
the nations be
glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge
the people righteously, and
govern the nations upon earth.
Selah.
Let
the nations be
glad and sing for joy, for You judge
the peoples justly and lead
the nations of
the earth.
Selah Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
Then shall
the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall
bless us.
The earth has yielded its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.
God shall
bless us; and all
the ends of
the earth shall fear him.
God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let
them also that
hate him
flee before him.
God arises. His enemies are scattered, and those who
hate Him
flee His presence.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
As smoke is
blown away, You will drive
them out; as wax melts before
the fire,
the wicked will perish in
the presence of God.
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name:
extol him that rideth upon
the heavens by his name
JAH, and
rejoice before him.
Sing to God! Sing praises to His name.
Exalt Him who rides on
the clouds— His name is
the LORD— and
rejoice before Him.
A father of
the fatherless, and a judge of
the widows, is God in his holy
habitation.
A father of
the fatherless, and a defender of
the widows, is God in His holy
habitation.
God setteth
the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but
the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
God settles
the lonely in families; He leads
the prisoners out to prosperity, but
the rebellious dwell in a sun-
scorched land.
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou
didst march through
the wilderness;
Selah:
O God, when You went out before Your people, when You marched through
the wasteland,
Selah The earth
shook,
the heavens also dropped at
the presence of God: even
Sinai itself was moved at
the presence of God,
the God of Israel.
the earth
shook and
the heavens poured down rain before God,
the One on
Sinai, before God,
the God of Israel.
Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
Your flock settled
therein; O God, from Your
bounty You provided for
the poor.
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
The Lord gives
the command; a great company of women
proclaim it:
“Kings and
their armies
flee in
haste; she who waits at home divides
the plunder.
Though ye have
lien among
the pots, yet shall ye be as
the wings of a
dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.
Though you lie down among
the sheepfolds,
the wings of
the dove are covered with silver, and her feathers with
shimmering gold.”
When
the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.
When
the Almighty scattered
the kings in
the land, it was like
the snow falling on Zalmon.
The hill of God is as
the hill of
Bashan; an high hill as
the hill of
Bashan.
A mountain of God is Mount
Bashan; a mountain of many peaks is Mount
Bashan.
Why
leap ye, ye high hills? this is
the hill which God desireth to dwell in;
yea,
the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
Why do you
gaze in
envy, O mountains of many peaks? This is
the mountain God chose for His dwelling, where
the LORD will surely dwell
forever.
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels:
the Lord is among
them, as in
Sinai, in
the holy place.
The chariots of God are tens of thousands— thousands of thousands are
they;
the Lord is in His sanctuary as He was at
Sinai.
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity
captive: thou hast received gifts for men;
yea, for
the rebellious also, that
the LORD God might dwell among
them.
You have ascended on high; You have led
captives away. You have received gifts from men, even from
the rebellious, that
the LORD God may dwell
there.
Blessed be
the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even
the God of our salvation.
Selah.
Blessed be
the Lord, who daily bears our burden,
the God of our salvation.
Selah He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.
But God shall wound
the head of his enemies, and
the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
Surely God will
crush the heads of His enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who
persist in guilty ways.
The Lord said, I will bring again from
Bashan, I will bring my people again from
the depths of
the sea:
The Lord said, “I will
retrieve them from
Bashan, I will bring
them up from
the depths of
the sea,
That thy foot may be
dipped in
the blood of thine enemies, and
the tongue of thy dogs in
the same.
that your foot may be
dipped in
the blood of your foes—
the tongues of your dogs in
the same.”
They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.
They have seen Your
procession, O God—
the march of my God and King into
the sanctuary.
The singers went before,
the players on instruments followed after; among
them were
the damsels playing with
timbrels.
The singers lead the way, the musicians follow after, among the maidens playing tambourines.
Bless ye God in
the congregations, even
the Lord, from
the fountain of Israel.
Bless God in
the great congregation;
bless the LORD from
the fountain of Israel.
There is little Benjamin with
their ruler,
the princes of Judah and
their council,
the princes of
Zebulun, and
the princes of
Naphtali.
There is Benjamin,
the youngest, ruling
them,
the princes of Judah in
their company,
the princes of
Zebulun and of
Naphtali.
Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.
Because of Your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring You gifts.
Rebuke the company of
spearmen,
the multitude of
the bulls, with
the calves of
the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver:
scatter thou
the people that delight in war.
Rebuke the beast in
the reeds,
the herd of bulls among
the calves of
the nations, until it submits, bringing bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of
the earth; O sing praises unto
the Lord;
Selah:
Sing to God, O kingdoms of
the earth; sing praises to
the Lord—
Selah To him that rideth upon
the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he
doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.
to Him who rides upon the highest heavens of old; behold, His mighty voice resounds.
Ascribe ye strength unto God: his
excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in
the clouds.
Ascribe the power to God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose strength is in
the skies.
O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
O God, You are
awesome in Your sanctuary;
the God of Israel Himself gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!
Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
Save me, O God, for the waters are up to my neck.
I sink in deep
mire, where
there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where
the floods overflow me.
I have sunk into
the miry depths, where
there is no footing; I have drifted into deep waters, where
the flood engulfs me.
They that
hate me without a cause are more than
the hairs of mine head:
they that would destroy me, being mine enemies
wrongfully, are mighty:
then I restored that which I took not away.
Those who
hate me without cause outnumber
the hairs of my head; many are those who would destroy me— my enemies for no reason. Though I did not
steal, I must repay.
O God, thou knowest my
foolishness; and my sins are not
hid from
thee.
You know my folly, O God, and my guilt is not hidden from You.
Let not
them that wait on
thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be
ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek
thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
May those who hope in You not be
ashamed through me, O Lord GOD of Hosts; may those who seek You not be dishonored through me, O God of Israel.
