For
afore the harvest, when the
bud is perfect, and the
sour grape is
ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruninghooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
For before the harvest, when the
blossom is gone and the flower becomes a
ripening grape, He
will cut off the shoots with a
pruning knife and remove and discard the branches.
They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey, and to the beasts of the land. The birds will feed on them in summer, and all the wild animals in winter.
In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and
peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and
trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have
spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount
Zion.
At that time gifts
will be brought to the LORD of Hosts— from a people tall and smooth-
skinned, from a people widely feared, from a powerful nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers— to Mount
Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD of Hosts.
The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall
melt in the midst of it.
This is the burden against Egypt: Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud; He is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt
will tremble before Him, and the hearts of the Egyptians
will melt within them.
And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
“So I
will incite Egyptian against Egyptian; brother
will fight against brother,
neighbor against
neighbor, city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
Then the spirit of the Egyptians
will be
emptied out from among them, and I
will frustrate their plans, so that they
will resort to idols and spirits of the dead, to mediums and spiritists.
And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
I will deliver the Egyptians into the hands of harsh masters, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord GOD of Hosts.
And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
The waters of the Nile
will dry up, and the riverbed
will be
parched and empty.
And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the
brooks of defence shall be
emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
The canals
will stink; the streams of Egypt
will trickle and dry up; the reeds and rushes
will wither.
The paper reeds by the
brooks, by the mouth of the
brooks, and every thing sown by the
brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
The bulrushes by the Nile, by the mouth of the river, and all the fields sown along the Nile, will wither, blow away, and be no more.
The fishers also shall
mourn, and all they that cast angle into the
brooks shall
lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall
languish.
Then the
fishermen will mourn, all who cast a hook into the Nile
will lament, and those who spread nets on the waters
will pine away.
Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that
weave networks, shall be confounded.
The workers in flax will be dismayed, and the weavers of fine linen will turn pale.
And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
The workers in cloth
will be
dejected, and all the
hired workers
will be sick at heart.
In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the
shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
In that day the Egyptians
will be like women. They
will tremble with fear beneath the
uplifted hand of the LORD of Hosts, when He brandishes it against them.
And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
The land of Judah
will bring terror to Egypt; whenever Judah is mentioned, Egypt
will tremble over what the LORD of Hosts has
planned against it.
In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of
Canaan, and
swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
In that day five cities in the land of Egypt
will speak the language of
Canaan and
swear allegiance to the LORD of Hosts. One of them
will be called the City of the Sun.
In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a
pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
In that day there
will be an altar to the LORD in the center of the land of Egypt, and a
pillar to the LORD near her border.
And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
It
will be a sign and a witness to the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, He
will send them a
savior and defender to
rescue them.
And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and
oblation;
yea, they shall
vow a
vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
The LORD
will make Himself known to Egypt, and on that day Egypt
will acknowledge the LORD. They
will worship with sacrifices and offerings; they
will make vows to the LORD and
fulfill them.
And the LORD shall
smite Egypt: he shall
smite and
heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall
heal them.
And the LORD
will strike Egypt with a plague; He
will strike them but
heal them. They
will turn to the LORD, and He
will hear their prayers and
heal them.
In that day shall there be a
highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
In that day there
will be a
highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians
will go to Egypt, and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians
will worship together.
In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
In that day Israel will join a three-party alliance with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing upon the earth.
Whom the LORD of hosts shall
bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
The LORD of Hosts
will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt My people, Assyria My
handiwork, and Israel My inheritance.”
So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians
captives, young and old, naked and
barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
so the king of Assyria
will lead away the
captives of Egypt and the exiles of
Cush, young and old alike, naked and
barefoot, with bared buttocks—to Egypt’s shame.
And they shall be afraid and
ashamed of
Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Those who made
Cush their hope and Egypt their
boast will be dismayed and
ashamed.
And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation,
whither we
flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
And on that day the dwellers of this coastland
will say, ‘See what has happened to our source of hope, those to whom we fled for help and
deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?’”
A
dire vision is declared to me: “The
traitor still betrays, and the destroyer still destroys. Go up, O
Elam! Lay siege, O Media! I
will put an end to all her
groaning.”
The
watchman replies, “Morning has come, but also the night. If you would inquire, then inquire. Come back yet again.”
For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an
hireling, and all the glory of
Kedar shall fail:
For this is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a
hired worker would count it, all the glory of
Kedar will be gone.
And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of
Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.
The remaining archers, the warriors of
Kedar,
will be few.” For the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
Therefore said I, Look away from me; I
will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the
spoiling of the daughter of my people.
Therefore I said, “Turn away from me, let me
weep bitterly! Do not try to
console me over the destruction of the daughter of my people.”
And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be
purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
The LORD of Hosts has revealed in my hearing: “Until your dying day, this sin of yours
will never be
atoned for,” says the Lord GOD of Hosts.
Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
Look, O mighty man! The LORD is about to
shake you violently. He
will take hold of you,
He
will surely violently turn and
toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the
chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.
roll you into a ball, and
sling you into a wide land. There you
will die, and there your glorious
chariots will remain—a disgrace to the house of your master.
And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.
I
will remove you from office, and you
will be
ousted from your position.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
On that day I
will summon My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.
And I
will clothe him with thy
robe, and
strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I
will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
I
will clothe him with your
robe and
tie your
sash around him. I
will put your authority in his hand, and he
will be a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
And I
will fasten him as a
nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.
I
will drive him like a
peg into a firm place, and he
will be a throne of glory for the house of his father.
And they shall
hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
So they
will hang on him all the glory of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the lesser vessels, from
bowls to every kind of
jar.
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the
nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
In that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, the
peg driven into a firm place
will give way; it
will be
sheared off and fall, and the load upon it
will be cut down.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be
sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
When the report reaches Egypt, they
will writhe in
agony over the news of Tyre.
And he said, Thou shalt no more
rejoice, O thou
oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to
Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.
He said, “You shall
rejoice no more, O
oppressed Virgin Daughter of
Sidon. Get up and cross over to
Cyprus— even there you
will find no rest.”
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an
harlot.
At that time Tyre
will be forgotten for seventy years—the span of a king’s life. But at the end of seventy years, it
will happen to Tyre as in the song of the
harlot:
Take an
harp, go about the city, thou
harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet
melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
“Take up your
harp,
stroll through the city, O forgotten
harlot. Make sweet
melody, sing many a song, so you
will be remembered.”
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD
will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her
hire, and shall commit
fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
And at the end of seventy years, the LORD
will restore Tyre. Then she
will return to
hire as a
prostitute and sell herself to all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.
Yet her profits and wages will be set apart to the LORD; they will not be stored or saved, for her profit will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothing.
Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it
upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
Behold, the LORD lays waste the earth and leaves it in ruins. He
will twist its surface and
scatter its inhabitants—
The land shall be utterly
emptied, and utterly
spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
The earth
will be utterly laid waste and thoroughly
plundered. For the LORD has spoken this word.
When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the
shaking of an olive tree, and as the
gleaning grapes when the
vintage is done.
So
will it be on the earth and among the nations, like a harvested olive tree, like a
gleaning after a
grape harvest.
And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the
snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do
shake.
Whoever flees the sound of
panic will fall into the pit, and
whoever climbs from the pit
will be caught in the
snare. For the windows of heaven are open, and the foundations of the earth are
shaken.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall
punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
In that day the LORD
will punish the host of heaven above and the kings of the earth below.
And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
They
will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit. They
will be confined to a
dungeon and punished after many days.
Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun
ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount
Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
The moon
will be confounded and the sun
will be
ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts
will reign on Mount
Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders with great glory.
O LORD, thou art my God; I
will exalt thee, I
will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
O LORD, You are my God! I
will exalt You; I
will praise Your name. For You have worked wonders— plans formed long ago— in perfect faithfulness.
For thou hast made of a city an
heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
Indeed, You have made the city a
heap of
rubble, the fortified town a ruin. The fortress of strangers is a city no more; it
will never be rebuilt.
Therefore shall the strong people
glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
Therefore, a strong people
will honor You. The cities of
ruthless nations
will revere You.
And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the
lees, of fat things full of
marrow, of wines on the
lees well refined.
On this mountain the LORD of Hosts
will prepare a
banquet for all the peoples, a feast of aged wine, of choice meat, of finely aged wine.
And he
will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the
vail that is spread over all nations.
On this mountain He
will swallow up the
shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations;
He
will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD
will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the
rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
He
will swallow up death
forever. The Lord GOD
will wipe away the tears from every face and remove the disgrace of His people from the whole earth. For the LORD has spoken.
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he
will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we
will be
glad and
rejoice in his salvation.
And in that day it
will be said, “Surely this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited. Let us
rejoice and be
glad in His salvation.”
For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be
trodden down under him, even as straw is
trodden down for the
dunghill.
For the hand of the LORD
will rest on this mountain. But Moab
will be
trampled in his place as straw is
trodden into the dung pile.
And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to
swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
He
will spread out his hands within it, as a
swimmer spreads his arms to
swim. His pride
will be brought low,
despite the skill of his hands.
And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.
The high-walled fortress will be brought down, cast to the ground, into the dust.
In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation
will God
appoint for walls and bulwarks.
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation is established as its walls and ramparts.
Thou
wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
You
will keep in perfect peace the
steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You.
With my soul have I desired thee in the night;
yea, with my spirit within me
will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world
will learn righteousness.
My soul longs for You in the night; indeed, my spirit seeks You at
dawn. For when Your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
Though grace is shown to the wicked man, he does not learn righteousness. In the land of righteousness he acts unjustly and fails to see the majesty of the LORD.
LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they
will not see: but they shall see, and be
ashamed for their
envy at the people;
yea, the fire of thine enemies shall
devour them.
O LORD, Your hand is upraised, but they do not see it. They
will see Your zeal for Your people and be put to shame. The fire set for Your enemies
will consume them!
LORD, thou
wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
O LORD, You will establish peace for us. For all that we have accomplished, You have done for us.
O LORD our God, other lords besides thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
O LORD our God, other lords besides You have had dominion, but Your name alone do we
confess.
They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
The dead
will not live; the departed spirits
will not rise. Therefore You have punished and destroyed them; You have
wiped out all memory of them.
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise.
Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy
dew is as the
dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
Your dead
will live; their bodies
will rise.
Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For your
dew is like the
dew of the morning, and the earth
will bring forth her dead.
For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
For behold, the LORD is coming out of His dwelling to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth
will reveal her
bloodshed and
will no longer
conceal her slain.
I the LORD do keep it; I
will water it every moment: lest any
hurt it, I
will keep it night and day.
I, the LORD, am its keeper; I water it continually. I guard it night and day so no one can
disturb it;
He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall
blossom and
bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
In the days to come, Jacob
will take root. Israel
will bud and
blossom and fill the whole world with fruit.
By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be
purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in
sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
Therefore Jacob’s guilt
will be
atoned for, and the full fruit of the removal of his sin
will be this: When he makes all the altar stones like
crushed bits of chalk, no Asherah poles or incense altars
will remain standing.
When the boughs thereof are
withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them
will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them
will shew them no favour.
When its limbs are dry, they are broken off. Women come and use them for
kindling; for this is a people without understanding. Therefore their Maker has no
compassion on them, and their
Creator shows them no favor.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.
In that day the LORD
will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites,
will be gathered one by one.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great
trumpet shall be
blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
And in that day a great ram’s horn will sound, and those who were perishing in Assyria will come forth with those who were exiles in Egypt. And they will worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a
tempest of
hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
Behold, the Lord has one who is strong and mighty. Like a
hailstorm or destructive
tempest, like a driving rain or flooding
downpour, he
will smash that crown to the ground.
The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be
trodden under feet:
And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a
fading flower, and as the
hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it
seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
The
fading flower of his beautiful
splendor, set on the summit above the fertile valley,
will be like a ripe fig before the summer harvest:
Whoever sees it
will take it in his hand and
swallow it.
In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a
diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
On that day the LORD of Hosts
will be a crown of glory, a
diadem of
splendor to the
remnant of His people,
For with
stammering lips and another tongue
will he speak to this people.
Indeed, with
mocking lips and foreign tongues, He
will speak to this people
But the word of the LORD was unto them
precept upon
precept,
precept upon
precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and
snared, and taken.
Then the word of the LORD to them
will become: “Order on order, order on order, line on line, line on line; a little here, a little there,” so that they
will go
stumbling backward and
will be injured, ensnared, and captured.
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with
hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing
scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under
falsehood have we
hid ourselves:
For you said, “We have made a covenant with death; we have fashioned an agreement with
Sheol. When the
overwhelming scourge passes through it
will not touch us, because we have made lies our refuge and
falsehood our hiding place.”
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in
Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make
haste.
So this is what the Lord GOD says: “See, I lay a stone in
Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes
will never be
shaken.
Judgment also
will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the
plummet: and the
hail shall
sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
I
will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level.
Hail will sweep away your refuge of lies, and water
will flood your hiding place.
And your covenant with death shall be
disannulled, and your agreement with
hell shall not stand; when the overflowing
scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be
trodden down by it.
Your covenant with death
will be dissolved, and your agreement with
Sheol will not stand. When the
overwhelming scourge passes through, you
will be
trampled by it.
From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a
vexation only to understand the report.
As often as it passes through, it
will carry you away; it
will sweep through morning after morning, by day and by night.” The understanding of this message
will bring sheer terror.
For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be
wroth as in the valley of
Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
For the LORD
will rise up as at Mount Perazim. He
will rouse Himself as in the Valley of
Gibeon, to do His work, His strange work, and to perform His task, His
disturbing task.
Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
So now, do not
mock, or your
shackles will become heavier. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord GOD of Hosts a decree of destruction against the whole land.
Grain for bread must be ground, but it is not endlessly
threshed. Though the wheels of the
cart roll over it, the horses do not
crush it.
Yet I
will distress
Ariel, and there shall be
heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as
Ariel.
And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.
I
will camp in a circle around you; I
will besiege you with towers and set up siege works against you.
And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall
whisper out of the dust.
You
will be brought low, you
will speak from the ground, and out of the dust your words
will be
muffled. Your voice
will be like a spirit from the ground; your speech
will whisper out of the dust.
Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as
chaff that passeth away:
yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
But your many foes
will be like fine dust, the multitude of the
ruthless like blowing
chaff. Then suddenly, in an instant,
