And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth and spread it out for herself on a rock. From the beginning of the harvest until the rain from heaven poured down on the bodies, she did not
allow the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
And the bones of Saul and
Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the
sepulchre of
Kish his father: and they performed
all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
And they buried the bones of Saul and his son
Jonathan in Zela in the land of Benjamin, in the tomb of Saul’s father
Kish. After they had done everything the king had commanded, God answered their prayers for the land.
And there was yet a battle in
Gath, where was a man of great
stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the
giant.
And there was still another battle at
Gath, where there was a man of great
stature with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in
all. He too was descended from Rapha,
And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
And David
sang this song to the LORD on the day the LORD had delivered him from the hand of
all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
For all His ordinances are before me; I have not disregarded His statutes.
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a
buckler to
all them that trust in him.
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is
flawless. He is a shield to
all who take refuge in Him.
Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an
everlasting covenant, ordered in
all things, and sure: for this is
all my salvation, and
all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
Is not my house right with God? For He has established with me an
everlasting covenant, ordered and secured in every part. Will He not bring about my full salvation and my every desire?
But the sons of
Belial shall be
all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
But the worthless are
all like thorns
raked aside, for they can never be gathered by hand.
Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
and Uriah the Hittite. There were thirty-seven in all.
For the king said to
Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through
all the tribes of Israel, from
Dan even to Beer-
sheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.
So the king said to
Joab the commander of his army, who was with him, “Go now throughout the tribes of Israel from
Dan to
Beersheba and register the troops, so that I may know their number.”
And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to
all the cities of the
Hivites, and of the
Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beer-
sheba.
They went toward the fortress of Tyre and
all the cities of the
Hivites and
Canaanites. Finally, they went on to the Negev of Judah, to
Beersheba.
So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.
At the end of nine months and twenty days, having gone through the whole land, they returned to Jerusalem.
All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee.
O king, Araunah gives all these to the king.” He also said to the king, “May the LORD your God accept you.”
So they sought for a fair
damsel throughout
all the coasts of Israel, and found
Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
Then they searched throughout Israel for a beautiful
girl, and they found
Abishag the Shunammite and brought her to the king.
And Adonijah
slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called
all his brethren the king’s sons, and
all the men of Judah the king’s servants:
And Adonijah sacrificed sheep, oxen, and
fattened calves near the stone of Zoheleth, which is next to En-rogel. He invited
all his royal brothers and
all the men of Judah who were servants of the king.
And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called
all the sons of the king, and
Abiathar the priest, and
Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.
And he has sacrificed an abundance of oxen,
fattened calves, and sheep, and has invited
all the other sons of the king, as well as
Abiathar the priest and
Joab the commander of the army. But he did not
invite your servant Solomon.
And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
And as for you, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you to tell them who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called
all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and
Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.
For
today he has gone down and sacrificed an abundance of oxen,
fattened calves, and sheep, and has invited
all the sons of the king, the commanders of the army, and
Abiathar the priest. And behold, they are eating and drinking before him, saying, ‘Long live King Adonijah!’
And the king
sware, and said, As the LORD liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of
all distress,
And the king
swore an oath, saying, “As surely as the LORD lives, who has redeemed my life from
all distress,
And
Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and
anointed Solomon. And they
blew the
trumpet; and
all the people said, God save king Solomon.
Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the tabernacle and
anointed Solomon. Then they
blew the ram’s horn, and
all the people proclaimed, “Long live King Solomon!”
And
all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and
rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
All the people followed him, playing flutes and
rejoicing with such a great joy that the earth was split by the sound.
And Adonijah and
all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when
Joab heard the sound of the
trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an
uproar?
Now Adonijah and
all his guests were finishing their feast when they heard the sound of the ram’s horn. “Why is the city in such a loud
uproar?” asked
Joab.
And
Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah,
Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.
“Not at
all,”
Jonathan replied. “Our lord King David has made Solomon king.
And all the guests that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.
At this, all the guests of Adonijah arose in terror and scattered.
I go the way of
all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and
shew thyself a man;
“I am about to go the way of
all the earth. So be strong and prove
yourself a man.
And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his
testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest
prosper in
all that thou doest, and
whithersoever thou turnest
thyself:
And keep the charge of the LORD your God to walk in His ways and to keep His statutes, commandments, ordinances, and decrees, as is written in the Law of Moses, so that you may
prosper in
all you do and wherever you turn,
That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take
heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with
all their heart and with
all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
and so that the LORD may
fulfill His promise to me: ‘If your descendants take
heed to walk faithfully before Me with
all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’
And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that
all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign:
howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother’s: for it was his from the LORD.
“You know that the
kingship was mine,” he said. “
All Israel expected that I should reign, but the
kingship has turned to my brother, for it has come to him from the LORD.
And unto
Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been
afflicted in
all wherein my father was
afflicted.
Then the king said to
Abiathar the priest, “Go back to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death at this time, since you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and you suffered through
all that my father suffered.”
The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest
all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou
didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;
The king also said, “You know in your heart all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore the LORD will bring your evil back upon your head.
And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
Later, Solomon formed an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt by marrying his daughter. Solomon brought her to the City of David until he had finished building his palace and the house of the LORD, as well as the wall around Jerusalem.
And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
Moreover, I will give you what you did not request—both riches and honor—so that during all your days no man in any kingdom will be your equal.
And Solomon
awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to
all his servants.
Then Solomon
awoke, and indeed it had been a dream. So he returned to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Then he held a feast for
all his servants.
And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.
When
all Israel heard of the judgment the king had given, they stood in
awe of him, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to
administer justice.
So king Solomon was king over all Israel.
So King Solomon ruled over Israel,
And Solomon had twelve officers over
all Israel, which provided
victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.
Solomon had twelve governors over all Israel to provide food for the king and his household. Each one would arrange provisions for one month of the year,
The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him
pertained Sochoh, and
all the land of Hepher:
Ben-hesed in Arubboth (Socoh and all the land of Hepher belonged to him);
The son of Abinadab, in
all the region of
Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
Ben-abinadab in Naphath-
dor (Taphath, a daughter of Solomon, was his wife);
Baana the son of Ahilud; to him
pertained Taanach and
Megiddo, and
all Beth-shean, which is by Zartanah beneath
Jezreel, from Beth-shean to
Abel-meholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam:
Baana son of Ahilud in Taanach, in
Megiddo, and in
all of Beth-shean next to Zarethan below
Jezreel, from Beth-shean to
Abel-meholah and on past Jokmeam;
And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
And Solomon reigned over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These kingdoms offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
For Solomon had dominion over everything west of the Euphrates—over
all the kingdoms from Tiphsah to
Gaza—and he had peace on
all sides.
And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from
Dan even to Beer-
sheba,
all the days of Solomon.
Throughout the days of Solomon, Judah and Israel dwelt securely from
Dan to
Beersheba, each man under his own vine and his own fig tree.
And those officers provided
victual for king Solomon, and for
all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
Each month the governors in turn provided food for King Solomon and all who came to his table. They saw to it that nothing was lacking.
And Solomon’s wisdom
excelled the wisdom of
all the children of the east country, and
all the wisdom of Egypt.
Solomon’s wisdom was greater than that of all the men of the East, greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
For he was wiser than
all men; than
Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in
all nations round about.
He was wiser than
all men—wiser than
Ethan the Ezrahite, and wiser than Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread throughout the surrounding nations.
And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
So men of
all nations came to
listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by
all the kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
“As you are well aware, due to the wars
waged on
all sides against my father David, he could not build a house for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD had put his enemies under his feet.
Now therefore command thou that they
hew me
cedar trees out of
Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give
hire for thy servants according to
all that thou shalt
appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to
hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
Now therefore, order that cedars of
Lebanon be cut down for me. My servants will be with your servants, and I will pay your servants whatever wages you set, for you know that there are none among us as skilled in
logging as the Sidonians.”
And
Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do
all thy desire concerning timber of
cedar, and concerning timber of
fir.
Then
Hiram sent a reply to Solomon, saying: “I have received your message; I will do
all you desire regarding the
cedar and
cypress timber.
So
Hiram gave Solomon
cedar trees and
fir trees according to
all his desire.
And king Solomon raised a
levy out of
all Israel; and the
levy was thirty thousand men.
Then King Solomon conscripted a labor force of 30,000 men from all Israel.
And then he built chambers against
all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of
cedar.
He built chambers
all along the temple, each five cubits high and attached to the temple with beams of
cedar.
Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou
wilt walk in my statutes, and
execute my judgments, and keep
all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
“As for this temple you are building, if you walk in My statutes, carry out My ordinances, and keep
all My commandments by walking in them, I will
fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.
And the
cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers:
all was
cedar; there was no stone seen.
The
cedar paneling inside the temple was carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was
cedar; not a stone could be seen.
And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished
all the house: also the whole altar that was by the
oracle he overlaid with gold.
So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
Then he carved the walls
all around the temple, in both the inner and outer
sanctuaries, with carved engravings of
cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.
And in the
eleventh year, in the month
Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout
all the parts thereof, and according to
all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
In his
eleventh year and eighth month, the month of
Bul, the temple was finished in every detail and according to every
specification. So he built the temple in seven years.
But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
Solomon, however, took thirteen years to complete the construction of his entire palace.
And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.
All the doorways had rectangular frames, with the openings facing one another in three tiers.
All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of
hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the
coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.
All these buildings were constructed with costly stones, cut to size and
trimmed with saws inside and out from the foundation to the
eaves, and from the outside to the great
courtyard.
He was a widow’s son of the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and
cunning to work
all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought
all his work.
He was the son of a widow from the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a
craftsman in bronze. Huram had great skill, understanding, and knowledge for every kind of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and carried out
all his work.
And he made a
molten sea, ten cubits from the one
brim to the other: it was round
all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
He also made the Sea of cast metal. It was circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from
rim to
rim, five cubits in height, and thirty cubits in circumference.
And under the
brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a
cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.
Below the
rim, ornamental buds
encircled it, ten per
cubit all the way around the Sea, cast in two rows as a part of the Sea.
It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
The Sea stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The Sea rested on them, with all their hindquarters toward the center.
And the work of the wheels was like the work of a
chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were
all molten.
The wheels were made like
chariot wheels; their axles, rims, spokes, and hubs were
all of cast metal.
For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.
He engraved
cherubim, lions, and palm trees on the surfaces of the supports and panels, wherever each had space, with
wreaths all around.
After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.
In this way he made the ten stands, each with the same casting, dimensions, and shape.
And
Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So
Hiram made an end of doing
all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:
Additionally, Huram made the pots, shovels, and
sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished
all the work that he had undertaken for King Solomon in the house of the LORD:
And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and
all these vessels, which
Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.
and the pots, shovels, and
sprinkling bowls.
All the articles that Huram made for King Solomon in the house of the LORD were made of
burnished bronze.
And Solomon left
all the vessels
unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.
Solomon left
all these articles
unweighed, because there were so many. The weight of the bronze could not be determined.
And Solomon made
all the vessels that
pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold,
whereupon the
shewbread was,
Solomon also made all the furnishings for the house of the LORD: the golden altar; the golden table on which was placed the Bread of the Presence;
So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.
So
all the work that King Solomon had performed for the house of the LORD was completed. Then Solomon brought in the items his father David had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and the furnishings—and he placed them in the
treasuries of the house of the LORD.
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and
all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is
Zion.
At that time Solomon assembled before him in Jerusalem the elders of Israel—
all the
tribal heads and family leaders of the Israelites—to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from
Zion, the City of David.
And
all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month
Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
And
all the men of Israel came together to King Solomon at the feast in the seventh month, the month of
Ethanim.
And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the priests took up the ark,
And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.
and they brought up the ark of the LORD and the Tent of Meeting with all its sacred furnishings. So the priests and Levites carried them up.
And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
There, before the ark, King Solomon and the whole congregation of Israel who had assembled with him sacrificed so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.
And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)
And as the whole assembly of Israel stood there, the king turned around and blessed them all
Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
‘Since the day I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house so that My Name would be there. But I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’
And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven,
And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
and said: “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below, keeping Your covenant of loving devotion with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
What prayer and
supplication soever be made by any man, or by
all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
then may whatever prayer or petition Your people Israel make—each knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple—
Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and
forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of
all the children of men;)
be heard by You from heaven, Your dwelling place. And may You
forgive and act, and repay each man according to
all his ways, since You know his heart—for You alone know the hearts of
all men—
That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
so that they may fear You all the days they live in the land that You gave to our fathers.
Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You. Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and they will know that this house I have built is called by Your Name.
And so return unto thee with
all their heart, and with
all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away
captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
and when they return to You with
all their heart and soul in the land of the enemies who took them
captive, and when they pray to You in the direction of the land that You gave to their fathers, the city You have chosen, and the house I have built for Your Name,
May You
forgive Your people who have
sinned against You and
all the transgressions they have committed against You, and may You grant them
compassion in the eyes of their captors to show them mercy.
That thine eyes may be open unto the
supplication of thy servant, and unto the
supplication of thy people Israel, to
hearken unto them in
all that they call for unto thee.
May Your eyes be open to the pleas of Your servant and of Your people Israel, and may You
listen to them whenever they call to You.
For thou
didst separate them from among
all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”
And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying
all this prayer and
supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from
kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
Now when Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and petition to the LORD, he got up before the altar of the LORD, where he had been
kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.
And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
And he stood and blessed the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying:
Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
“Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises He made through His servant Moses.
That he may
incline our hearts unto him, to walk in
all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
May He
incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in
all His ways and to keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances He commanded our fathers.
And let these my words,
wherewith I have made
supplication before the LORD, be
nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at
all times, as the matter shall require:
And may these words with which I have made my petition before the LORD be near to the LORD our God day and night, so that He may
uphold the cause of His servant and of His people Israel as each day requires,
That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.
so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God. There is no other!
And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.
Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the LORD.
And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.
And Solomon offered as peace offerings to the LORD 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the Israelites dedicated the house of the LORD.
The same day did the king
hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the
brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
On that same day the king consecrated the middle of the
courtyard in front of the house of the LORD, and there he offered the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, since the bronze altar before the LORD was too small to contain
all these offerings.
And at that time Solomon held a feast, and
all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of
Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.
So at that time Solomon and
all Israel with him—a great assembly of people from Lebo-
hamath to the
Brook of Egypt—kept the feast before the LORD our God for seven days and seven more days—fourteen days in
all.
On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and
glad of heart for
all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
On the
fifteenth day Solomon sent the people away. So they blessed the king and went home, joyful and
glad in heart for
all the good things that the LORD had done for His servant David and for His people Israel.
