Every bed
whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and
whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.
Any bed on which she lies or
any furniture on which she sits during the days of her discharge will be unclean, like her bed during her
menstrual period.
And
whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
Anyone who touches these things will be unclean; he must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.
of a woman in her
menstrual period, of
any male or female who has a discharge, and of a man who lies with an unclean woman.’”
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall
afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
This is to be a permanent statute for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month, you shall humble
yourselves and not do
any work—whether the native or the foreigner who resides among you—
What man
soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
‘
Anyone from the house of Israel who slaughters an ox, a lamb, or a goat in the camp or outside of it
And thou shalt say unto them,
Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which
sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering of sacrifice,
Tell them that if
anyone from the house of Israel or
any foreigner living among them offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice
And
whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, that eateth
any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
If
anyone from the house of Israel or a foreigner living among them eats
any blood, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from among his people.
Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
Therefore I say to the Israelites, ‘None of you may eat blood, nor may any foreigner living among you eat blood.’
And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth
any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
And if
any Israelite or foreigner living among them hunts down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten, he must
drain its blood and cover it with
dirt.
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof:
whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
For the life of all flesh is its blood. Therefore I have told the Israelites, ‘You must not eat the blood of
any living thing, because the life of all flesh is its blood;
whoever eats it must be cut off.’
And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was
torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
And
any person, whether native or foreigner, who eats
anything found dead or
mauled by wild beasts must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening; then he will be clean.
None of you shall approach to
any that is near of
kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.
None of you are to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the LORD.
And thou shalt not let
any of thy seed pass through the fire to
Molech, neither shalt thou
profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
You must not give
any of your children to be sacrificed to
Molech, for you must not
profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
Neither shalt thou lie with
any beast to
defile thyself therewith: neither shall
any woman stand before a beast to lie down
thereto: it is confusion.
Defile not ye
yourselves in
any of these things: for in all these the nations are
defiled which I cast out before you:
Do not
defile yourselves by
any of these practices, for by all these things the nations I am driving out before you have
defiled themselves.
Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
But you are to keep My statutes and ordinances, and you must not commit any of these abominations—neither your native-born nor the foreigner who lives among you.
For
whosoever shall commit
any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
Therefore
anyone who commits
any of these abominations must be cut off from among his people.
Therefore shall ye keep mine
ordinance, that ye commit not
any one of these
abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye
defile not
yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.
You must keep My charge not to practice
any of the
abominable customs that were practiced before you, so that you do not
defile yourselves by them. I am the LORD your God.”

abominable; it shall not be accepted.
If
any of it is eaten on the third day, it is
tainted and will not be accepted.
Thou shalt not
hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in
any wise
rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
You must not
harbor hatred against your brother in your heart. Directly
rebuke your
neighbor, so that you will not
incur guilt on account of him.
Thou shalt not
avenge, nor bear
any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself: I am the LORD.
And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as
uncircumcised: three years shall it be as
uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
When you enter the land and plant any kind of tree for food, you shall regard the fruit as forbidden. For three years it will be forbidden to you and must not be eaten.
Ye shall not eat
any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use
enchantment, nor observe times.
You must not eat
anything with blood still in it. You must not practice
divination or
sorcery.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
You must not make
any cuts in your bodies for the dead or put
tattoo marks on
yourselves. I am the LORD.
Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel,
Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn in Israel, that giveth
any of his seed unto
Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
“Tell the Israelites, ‘
Any Israelite or foreigner living in Israel who gives
any of his children to
Molech must be put to death. The people of the land are to stone him.
And if the people of the land do
any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto
Molech, and kill him not:
And if the people of the land ever hide their eyes and fail to put to death the man who gives one of his children to
Molech,
For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath
cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
If
anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has
cursed his father or mother; his blood shall be upon him.
And if a woman approach unto
any beast, and lie down
thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
If a woman approaches
any animal to
mate with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by
any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by
any animal or bird, or by
anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.
They shall not make
baldness upon their head, neither shall they
shave off the corner of their
beard, nor make
any cuttings in their flesh.
Priests must not make
bald spots on their heads,
shave off the edges of their beards, or make cuts in their bodies.
And the daughter of
any priest, if she
profane herself by playing the
whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

prostituting herself, she profanes her father; she must be burned in the fire.
Neither shall he go in to
any dead body, nor
defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
He must not go near
any dead body; he must not
defile himself, even for his father or mother.
Speak unto Aaron, saying,
Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath
any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
“Say to Aaron, ‘For the generations to come, none of your descendants who has a physical defect may approach to offer the food of his God.
No man who has
any defect may approach—no man who is blind,
lame, disfigured, or
deformed;
Say unto them,
Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel
hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.
Tell them that for the generations to come, if
any of their descendants in a state of uncleanness approaches the sacred offerings that the Israelites
consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from My presence. I am the LORD.
What man
soever of the seed of Aaron is a
leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And
whoso toucheth
any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
Or
whosoever toucheth
any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness,
whatsoever uncleanness he hath;
or
whoever touches a
crawling creature or a person that makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be—
The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
That which dieth of itself, or is
torn with beasts, he shall not eat to
defile himself
therewith: I am the LORD.
He must not eat
anything found dead or
torn by wild animals, which would make him unclean. I am the LORD.
But if the priest
buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.
But if a priest buys a slave with his own money, or if a slave is born in his household, that slave may eat his food.
And if a man eat of the holy thing
unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.
If
anyone eats a sacred offering in error, he must add a fifth to its value and give the sacred offering to the priest.
Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them,
Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his
oblation for all his vows, and for all his
freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering;
“Speak to Aaron and his sons and all the Israelites and tell them, ‘
Any man of the house of Israel or
any foreign resident who presents a gift for a burnt offering to the LORD, whether to
fulfill a
vow or as a
freewill offering,
But
whatsoever hath a
blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.
You must not present anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf.
Blind, or broken, or
maimed, or having a
wen, or
scurvy, or
scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD.
You are not to present to the LORD
any animal that is blind, injured, or
maimed, or
anything with a running
sore, a
festering rash, or a
scab; you must not put
any of these on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
Either a
bullock or a lamb that hath
any thing
superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a
freewill offering; but for a
vow it shall not be accepted.
Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is
bruised, or
crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make
any offering thereof in your land.
You are not to present to the LORD an animal whose testicles are
bruised,
crushed,
torn, or cut; you are not to sacrifice them in your land.
Neither from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of
any of these; because their corruption is in them, and
blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.
Neither you nor a foreigner shall present food to your God from
any such animal. They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are
deformed and
flawed.’”
On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the
morrow: I am the LORD.
It must be eaten that same day. Do not leave any of it until morning. I am the LORD.
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy
convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You must not do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD.
On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any regular work.
But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy
convocation: ye shall do no
servile work therein.
For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the seventh day there shall be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.’”
And ye shall eat neither bread, nor
parched corn, nor green ears, until the
selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
You must not eat
any bread or
roasted or new grain until the very day you have brought this offering to your God. This is to be a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live.
And ye shall
proclaim on the
selfsame day, that it may be an holy
convocation unto you: ye shall do no
servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
On that same day you are to
proclaim a sacred assembly, and you must not do
any regular work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live for the generations to come.
And when ye
reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean
riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather
any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
When you
reap the harvest of your land, do not
reap all the way to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreign resident. I am the LORD your God.’”
Ye shall do no
servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
You must not do any regular work, but you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD.’”
And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of
atonement, to make an
atonement for you before the LORD your God.
On this day you are not to do
any work, for it is the Day of
Atonement, when
atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.
For
whatsoever soul it be that shall not be
afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
If
anyone does not humble himself on this day, he must be cut off from his people.
And
whatsoever soul it be that doeth
any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
I will destroy from among his people
anyone who does
any work on this day.
Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
You are not to do any work at all. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live.
On the first day there shall be a sacred assembly. You must not do any regular work.
Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy
convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no
servile work therein.
For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you must not do any regular work.
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying,
Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.
And you are to tell the Israelites, ‘If
anyone curses his God, he shall bear the consequences of his sin.
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.
And if a man takes the life of
anyone else, he must surely be put to death.
And if a man cause a
blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;
If
anyone injures his
neighbor, whatever he has done must be done to him:
If thy brother be
waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if
any of his
kin come to
redeem it, then shall he
redeem that which his brother sold.
If your brother becomes
impoverished and sells some of his property, his nearest of
kin may come and
redeem what his brother has sold.
Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites
redeem at
any time.
As for the cities of the Levites, the Levites always have the right to
redeem their houses in the cities they possess.
Take thou no
usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
Do not take
any interest or profit from him, but fear your God, that your
countryman may live among you.
Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may
redeem him, or
any that is
nigh of
kin unto him of his family may
redeem him; or if he be able, he may
redeem himself.
either his uncle or cousin or
any close relative from his clan may
redeem him. Or if he prospers, he may
redeem himself.
And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.
Even if he is not redeemed in
any of these ways, he and his children shall be released in the Year of
Jubilee.
Ye shall make you no idols nor
graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up
any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
“You must not make idols for
yourselves or set up a carved image or sacred
pillar; you must not place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down to it. For I am the LORD your God.
And if it be a beast,
whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that
any man giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy.
If he vows an animal that may be brought as an offering to the LORD, any such animal given to the LORD shall be holy.
And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest:
But if the
vow involves
any of the unclean animals that may not be brought as an offering to the LORD, the animal must be presented before the priest.
And if he that
sanctified the field will in
any wise
redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy
estimation unto it, and it shall be
assured to him.
And if the one who consecrated the field decides to
redeem it, he must add a fifth to the
assessed value, and it shall belong to him.
And if he will not
redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed
any more.
If, however, he does not
redeem the field, or if he has sold it to another man, it may no longer be redeemed.
And all the
tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Thus
any tithe from the land, whether from the seed of the land or the fruit of the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
He must not
inspect whether it is good or bad, and he shall not make
any substitution. But if he does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute shall become holy; they cannot be redeemed.’”
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
And thou shalt
appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
So you shall
appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but
any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”
But those that
encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the
sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but
any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.
And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of
Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch
any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all their
equipment, as soon as the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites shall come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy objects, or they will die. These are the
transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the Tent of Meeting.
Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every
leper, and every one that hath an issue, and
whosoever is
defiled by the dead:
“Command the Israelites to send away from the camp
anyone with a skin disease,
anyone who has a bodily discharge, and
anyone who is
defiled by a dead body.
Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit
any sin that men commit, to do a
trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;
“Tell the Israelites that when a man or woman acts unfaithfully against the LORD by
committing any sin against another, that person is guilty
And every man’s
hallowed things shall be his:
whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.
Each man’s sacred gifts are his own, but whatever he gives to the priest will belong to the priest.”
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If
any man’s wife go aside, and commit a
trespass against him,
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them that if
any man’s wife goes
astray and is unfaithful to him
He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no
vinegar of wine, or
vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink
any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
he is to
abstain from wine and strong drink. He must not drink
vinegar made from wine or strong drink, and he must not drink
any grape juice or eat fresh grapes or
raisins.
All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the
husk.
All the days of his separation, he is not to eat
anything that comes from the
grapevine, not even the seeds or skins.
If someone suddenly dies in his presence and defiles his consecrated head of hair, he must
shave his head on the day of his
cleansing—the seventh day.
But unto the sons of
Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.
But he did not give any to the Kohathites, since they were to carry on their shoulders the holy objects for which they were responsible.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If
any man of you or of your
posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey
afar off, yet he shall keep the
passover unto the LORD.
“Tell the Israelites: ‘When
any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a dead body, or is away on a journey, he may still observe the
Passover to the LORD.
They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break
any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the
passover they shall keep it.
they may not leave
any of it until morning or break
any of its bones. They must observe the
Passover according to all its statutes.
(Now the man Moses was very
meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.
Surely they shall not see the land which I
sware unto their fathers, neither shall
any of them that
provoked me see it:
not one will ever see the land that I
swore to give their fathers. None of those who have treated Me with contempt will see it.
And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
Also, if one person sins
unintentionally, he is to present a year-old female goat as a sin offering.
And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
And he
warned the congregation, “Move away now from the tents of these wicked men. Do not touch
anything that belongs to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins.”
Whosoever cometh
any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?
Anyone who comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all going to perish?”
And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
And you shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and of the altar, so that wrath may not fall on the Israelites again.
Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the
vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
But only you and your sons shall attend to your priesthood for everything concerning the altar and what is inside the
veil, and you are to perform that service. I am giving you the work of the priesthood as a gift, but
any outsider who comes near the sanctuary must be put to death.”
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.
And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
And you and your households may eat the rest of it
anywhere; it is the compensation for your work at the Tent of Meeting.
He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
Whoever touches
any dead body will be unclean for seven days.
