come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots,
brasen vessels, and of tables.
And on returning from the market, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions for them to observe, including the washing of cups, pitchers, kettles, and couches for
dining.
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the
commandments of men.
They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men.”
And he said unto them, Full well ye
reject the
commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
He went on to say, “You
neatly set aside the
command of God to maintain your own tradition.
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can
defile him: but the things which
come out of him, those are they that
defile the man.
Nothing that enters a man from the outside can
defile him; but the things that
come out of a man, these are what
defile him.”
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
He continued: “What comes out of a man, that is what defiles him.
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts,
adulteries, fornications, murders,
For from within the hearts of men
come evil thoughts, sexual immorality,
theft, murder,
adultery,
All these evil things
come from within, and
defile the man.
All these evils

defile a man.”

faint by the way: for
divers of them came from far.
If I send them home
hungry, they will
faint along the way. For some of them have
come a great distance.”

anyone wants to
come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
Whosoever therefore shall be
ashamed of me and of my words in this
adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be
ashamed, when he
cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
If
anyone is
ashamed of Me and My words in this
adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be
ashamed of him when He
comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
And he said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God

And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

And they asked him, saying, Why say the
scribes that Elias must first
come?
And they asked Jesus, “Why do the
scribes say that
Elijah must
come first?”
And he answered and told them, Elias
verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at
nought.
He replied, “
Elijah does indeed
come first, and he restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected?
But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed
come, and they have done unto him
whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
But I tell you that
Elijah has indeed
come, and they have done to him whatever they wished, just as it is written about him.”
And
ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have
compassion on us, and help us.

compassion on us and help us.”

come running, He
rebuked the unclean spirit. “You
deaf and
mute spirit,” He said, “I
command you to
come out and never enter him again.”

And he saith unto them,
Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another,
committeth adultery against her.
So He told them, “

commits adultery against her.

committeth adultery.
And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another man, she
commits adultery.”
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to
come unto me, and
forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
But when Jesus saw this, He was
indignant and told them, “Let the little children
come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Thou knowest the
commandments, Do not
commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not
steal, Do not bear false witness,
Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
You know the
commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not
commit adultery, do not
steal, do not bear false witness, do not
cheat others, honor your father and mother.’”

treasure in heaven: and
come, take up the cross, and follow me.

treasure in heaven. Then
come, follow Me.”

come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a
ransom for many.”

cometh in the name of the Lord:
The ones who went
ahead and those who followed were
shouting: “
Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who
comes in the name of the Lord!”
Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that
cometh in the name of the Lord:
Hosanna in the highest.
“Blessed is the
coming kingdom of our father David!” “
Hosanna in the highest!”

For
verily I say unto you, That
whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall
come to pass; he shall have
whatsoever he saith.
“Truly I tell you that if
anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him.

But those
husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir;
come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
But the tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’
What shall therefore the lord of the
vineyard do? he will
come and destroy the
husbandmen, and will give the
vineyard unto others.
What then will the owner of the
vineyard do? He will
come and kill those tenants, and will give the
vineyard to others.
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
“Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and seek favor from no one. Indeed, You are impartial and teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay them or not?”
Then
come unto him the
Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
Then the
Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and questioned Him:
And one of the
scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first
commandment of all?
Now one of the
scribes had
come up and heard their
debate. Noticing how well Jesus had answered them, he asked Him, “Which
commandment is the most important of all?”
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Jesus replied, “This is the most important: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. There is none other
commandment greater than these.
The second is this: ‘Love your
neighbor as
yourself.’ No other
commandment is greater than these.”
David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the
common people heard him
gladly.
David himself calls Him ‘Lord.’ So how can He be David’s son?” And the large crowd
listened to Him with delight.
For many shall
come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall
deceive many.
Many will
come in My name, claiming, ‘I am He,’ and will
deceive many.
And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be
alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to
come.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things
come to pass, know that it is
nigh, even at the doors.
So also, when you see these things happening, know that He is near, right at the door.
Take ye
heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Be on your guard and stay
alert! For you do not know when the appointed time will
come.
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
It is like a man going on a journey who left his house, put each servant in charge of his own task, and
instructed the
doorkeeper to keep watch.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house
cometh, at even, or at
midnight, or at the
cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know when the master of the house will return—whether in the evening, at
midnight, when the
rooster crows, or in the morning.
Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
Otherwise, he may arrive without notice and find you sleeping.
She has done what she could to

And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.
When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve.
And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
Then Jesus returned and found them sleeping. “Simon, are you
asleep?” He asked. “Were you not able to keep watch for one hour?
And he
cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is
come; behold, the Son of man is
betrayed into the hands of sinners.
When Jesus returned the third time, He said, “Are you still sleeping and resting? That is enough! The hour has
come. Look, the Son of Man is
betrayed into the hands of sinners.
And immediately, while he yet spake,
cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and
staves, from the chief priest and the
scribes and the elders.
While Jesus was still speaking,
Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests,
scribes, and elders.
And as soon as he was
come, he goeth
straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and
kissed him.
Going directly to Jesus, he said, “
Rabbi!” and
kissed Him.
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye
come out, as against a
thief, with swords and with
staves to take me?
Jesus asked the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw?
And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
“I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

Save

Yourself!”
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were
crucified with him
reviled him.
Let the Christ, the King of Israel,
come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” And even those who were
crucified with Him
berated Him.
And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
And one ran and filled a
spunge full of
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will
come to take him down.
And someone ran and filled a
sponge with
sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if
Elijah comes to take Him down.”

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and

anoint the body of Jesus.
