Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
He will pitch his royal tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain, but he will meet his end with no one to help him.
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
Blessed is he who waits and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
And it shall
come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of
Jezreel.
And on that day I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of
Jezreel.”
Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’
Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and
appoint themselves one head, and they shall
come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of
Jezreel.
Then the people of Judah and of Israel will be gathered together, and they will
appoint for themselves one leader, and will go up out of the land. For great will be the day of
Jezreel.
And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
“On that day I will
respond—” declares the LORD— “I will
respond to the heavens, and they will
respond to the earth.
Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Afterward, the people of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will
come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days.
I will not
punish your daughters when they commit
whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit
adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that
doth not understand shall fall.
I will not
punish your daughters when they
prostitute themselves, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit
adultery. For the men themselves go off with prostitutes and offer sacrifices with
shrine prostitutes. So a people without understanding will
come to ruin.
Though thou, Israel, play the
harlot, yet let not Judah
offend; and
come not ye unto
Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-
aven, nor
swear, The LORD liveth.
Though you
prostitute yourself, O Israel, may Judah avoid such guilt! Do not journey to
Gilgal, do not go up to Beth-
aven, and do not
swear on oath, ‘As surely as the LORD lives!’
Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath
torn, and he will
heal us; he hath
smitten, and he will bind us up.
Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has
torn us to pieces, but He will
heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bind up our wounds.
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
So let us know— let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.
When I would have
healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit
falsehood; and the
thief cometh in, and the
troop of robbers spoileth without.
When I
heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim will be exposed, as well as the crimes of Samaria. For they practice
deceit and
thieves break in;
bandits raid in the streets.
Set the
trumpet to thy mouth. He shall
come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have
transgressed my covenant, and
trespassed against my law.
Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the house of the LORD, because the people have
transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.
They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be
polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not
come into the house of the LORD.
They will not pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be
defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the house of the LORD.
The days of
visitation are
come, the days of recompence are
come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a
fool, the spiritual man is
mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
The days of punishment have
come; the days of
retribution have arrived— let Israel know it. The prophet is called a
fool, and the inspired man
insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and hostility.
The high places also of
Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the
thorn and the
thistle shall
come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
The high places of
Aven will be destroyed— it is the sin of Israel; thorns and thistles will overgrow their altars. Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!” and to the hills, “Fall on us!”
Sow to
yourselves in righteousness,
reap in mercy; break up your
fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he
come and rain righteousness upon you.
Sow for
yourselves righteousness and
reap the fruit of loving devotion; break up your
unplowed ground. For it is time to seek the LORD until He
comes and sends righteousness upon you like rain.
I will not
execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
I will not
execute the full
fury of My anger; I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim. For I am God and not man— the Holy One among you— and I will not
come in wrath.
They shall walk after the LORD: he shall
roar like a lion: when he shall
roar, then the children shall
tremble from the west.
They will walk after the LORD; He will
roar like a lion. When He roars, His children will
come trembling from the west.
They shall
tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a
dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
They will
come trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes, declares the LORD.
Is there iniquity in
Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in
Gilgal;
yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
Is there iniquity in
Gilead? They will surely
come to nothing. Do they sacrifice bulls in
Gilgal? Indeed, their altars will be heaps of stones in the furrows of the field.
The sorrows of a
travailing woman shall
come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
Labor pains
come upon him, but he is an unwise son. When the time arrives, he fails to present himself at the opening of the
womb.
Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall
come, the wind of the LORD shall
come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall
spoil the
treasure of all pleasant vessels.
Although he
flourishes among his brothers, an east wind will
come— a wind from the LORD rising up from the desert. His fountain will fail, and his spring will run dry. The wind will
plunder his treasury of every precious article.
Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green
fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
O Ephraim, what have I to do anymore with idols? It is I who answer and watch over him. I am like a flourishing
cypress; your fruit
comes from Me.
For a nation is
come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the
cheek teeth of a great lion.
For a nation has invaded My land, powerful and without number; its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and its fangs are the fangs of a
lioness.
Gird yourselves, and
lament, ye priests:
howl, ye ministers of the altar:
come, lie all night in
sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is
withholden from the house of your God.
Put on
sackcloth and
lament, O priests;
wail, O ministers of the altar.
Come,
spend the night in
sackcloth, O ministers of my God, because the grain and drink offerings are
withheld from the house of your God.
Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the
Almighty shall it
come.
Alas for the day! For the Day of the LORD is near, and it will
come as destruction from the
Almighty.
Blow ye the
trumpet in
Zion, and sound an
alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land
tremble: for the day of the LORD
cometh, for it is
nigh at hand;
Blow the ram’s horn in
Zion; sound the
alarm on My holy mountain! Let all who dwell in the land
tremble, for the Day of the LORD is coming; indeed, it is near—
A day of darkness and of
gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
a day of darkness and
gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like the
dawn overspreading the mountains a great and strong army appears, such as never was of old, nor will ever be in ages to
come.
But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and
desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his
stink shall
come up, and his ill savour shall
come up, because he hath done great things.
The northern army I will drive away from you,
banishing it to a barren and
desolate land, its front ranks into the Eastern Sea, and its rear guard into the Western Sea. And its
stench will rise; its foul
odor will
ascend. For He has done great things.
Be
glad then, ye children of
Zion, and
rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to
come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Be
glad, O children of
Zion, and
rejoice in the LORD your God, for He has given you the autumn rains for your
vindication. He sends you showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.
And it shall
come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and
awesome Day of the LORD.
And it shall
come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount
Zion and in Jerusalem shall be
deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the
remnant whom the LORD shall call.
And
everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount
Zion and in Jerusalem there will be
deliverance, as the LORD has promised, among the
remnant called by the LORD.
Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war,
wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them
come up:
Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war;
rouse the mighty men; let all the men of war advance and attack!
Assemble yourselves, and
come, all ye heathen, and gather
yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to
come down, O LORD.
Come quickly, all you surrounding nations, and gather
yourselves. Bring down Your mighty ones, O LORD.
Let the heathen be
wakened, and
come up to the valley of
Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Let the nations be
roused and advance to the Valley of
Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit down to judge all the nations on every side.
Put ye in the
sickle, for the harvest is ripe:
come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
Swing the
sickle, for the harvest is ripe.
Come,
trample the grapes, for the winepress is full; the wine vats overflow because their wickedness is great.
And it shall
come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall
come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of
Shittim.
And in that day the mountains will
drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. All the streams of Judah will run with water, and a spring will flow from the house of the LORD to water the Valley of
Acacias.
Shall a
trumpet be
blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
If a ram’s horn sounds in a city, do the people not
tremble? If
calamity comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it?
And I will
smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
I will
tear down the winter house along with the summer house; the houses of ivory will also perish, and the great houses will
come to an end,” declares the LORD.
The Lord GOD hath
sworn by his
holiness, that, lo, the days shall
come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your
posterity with fishhooks.
The Lord GOD has
sworn by His
holiness: “Behold, the days are coming when you will be taken away with hooks, and your
posterity with fishhooks.
I have sent among you the
pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the
stink of your camps to
come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I sent plagues among you like those of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses. I filled your nostrils with the
stench of your camp, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
That strengtheneth the
spoiled against the strong, so that the
spoiled shall
come against the fortress.
Woe to them that are at ease in
Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
Woe to those at ease in
Zion and those secure on Mount Samaria, the distinguished ones of the foremost nation, to whom the house of Israel
comes.
Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
You dismiss the day of
calamity and bring near a reign of violence.
Therefore now shall they go
captive with the first that go
captive, and the
banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
Therefore, you will now go into exile as the first of the
captives, and your feasting and
lounging will
come to an end.
And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
And if there are ten men left in one house, they too will die.
And he said,
Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A
basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is
come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
“
Amos, what do you see?” He asked. “A
basket of summer fruit,” I replied. So the LORD said to me, “The end has
come for My people Israel; I will no longer
spare them.”
And it shall
come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at
noon, and I will
darken the earth in the clear day:
And in that day, declares the Lord GOD, I will make the sun go down at
noon, and I will
darken the earth in the
daytime.
Behold, the days
come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a
thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord GOD, when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread or a
thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
Behold, the days
come, saith the LORD, that the
plowman shall overtake the
reaper, and the
treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall
melt.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the
plowman will overtake the
reaper and the
treader of grapes, the
sower of seed. The mountains will
drip with sweet wine, with which all the hills will flow.
And saviours shall
come up on mount
Zion to judge the mount of
Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
The deliverers will
ascend Mount
Zion to rule over the mountains of
Esau. And the kingdom will belong to the LORD.
Arise, go to
Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is
come up before me.
“Get up! Go to the great city of
Nineveh and
preach against it, because its wickedness has
come up before Me.”
And they said every one to his fellow,
Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon
Jonah.
“
Come!” said the sailors to one another. “Let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this
calamity that is upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on
Jonah.
Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?
“Tell us now,” they demanded, “who is to
blame for this
calamity that is upon us? What is your occupation, and where have you
come from? What is your country, and who are your people?”
And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great
tempest is upon you.
“
Pick me up,” he answered, “and cast me into the sea, so it may quiet down for you. For I know that I am to
blame for this violent storm that has
come upon you.”
And the LORD God prepared a
gourd, and made it to
come up over
Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So
Jonah was exceeding
glad of the
gourd.
So the LORD God appointed a vine, and it grew up to provide shade over
Jonah’s head to ease his discomfort, and
Jonah was greatly pleased with the plant.
For, behold, the LORD
cometh forth out of his place, and will
come down, and
tread upon the high places of the earth.
For behold, the LORD
comes forth from His dwelling place; He will
come down and
tread on the high places of the earth.
For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
For her wound is incurable; it has reached even Judah; it has approached the gate of my people, as far as Jerusalem itself.
Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the
mourning of Beth-ezel; he shall receive of you his standing.
Depart in shameful nakedness, O dwellers of Shaphir. The dwellers of Zaanan will not
come out. Beth-ezel is in
mourning; its support is taken from you.
Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall
come unto
Adullam the glory of Israel.
I will again bring a conqueror against you, O dweller of Mareshah. The glory of Israel will
come to
Adullam.
If a man walking in the spirit and
falsehood do lie, saying, I will
prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
If a man of wind were to
come and say falsely, “I will
preach to you of wine and strong drink,” he would be just the preacher for this people!
The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate, and go out by it. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD as their leader.
Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
Therefore night will
come over you without visions, and darkness without
divination. The sun will set on these prophets, and the
daylight will turn black over them.
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for
hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they
lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can
come upon us.
Her leaders judge for a
bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice
divination for money. Yet they
lean upon the LORD, saying, “Is not the LORD among us? No
disaster can
come upon us.”
But in the last days it shall
come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be
exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and the peoples will stream to it.
And many nations shall
come, and say,
Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of
Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And many nations will
come and say: “
Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of
Zion, unto thee shall it
come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall
come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
And you, O
watchtower of the flock, O
stronghold of the Daughter of
Zion— the former dominion will be restored to you; sovereignty will
come to the Daughter of Jerusalem.”
But thou,
Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he
come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from
everlasting.
But you,
Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will
come forth for Me One to be ruler over Israel— One whose origins are of old, from the days of
eternity.
And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall
come into our land: and when he shall
tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven
shepherds, and eight principal men.
And He will be our peace when Assyria invades our land and tramples our citadels. We will raise against it seven
shepherds, even eight leaders of men.
And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of
Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he
cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
And they will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of
Nimrod with the
blade drawn. So He will deliver us when Assyria invades our land and marches into our borders.
And it shall
come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy
chariots:
“In that day,” declares the LORD, “I will remove your horses from among you and
wreck your
chariots.
Wherewith shall I
come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I
come before him with burnt offerings, with
calves of a year old?
With what shall I
come before the LORD when I bow before the God on high? Should I
come to Him with burnt offerings, with year-old
calves?
The best of them is like a
brier; the most upright is sharper than a
hedge of thorns. The day for your
watchmen has
come, the day of your
visitation. Now is the time of their confusion.
In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.
The day for rebuilding your walls will come— the day for extending your boundary.
In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
On that day they will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, even from Egypt to the Euphrates, from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.
There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
He that dasheth in pieces is
come up before thy face: keep the
munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong,
fortify thy power
mightily.
And it shall
come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall
flee from thee, and say,
Nineveh is laid waste: who will
bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening
wolves: and their
horsemen shall spread themselves, and their
horsemen shall
come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.
They shall
come all for violence: their faces shall
sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
All of them come bent on violence; their hordes advance like the east wind; they gather prisoners like sand.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it
tarry, wait for it; because it will surely
come, it will not
tarry.
For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy
foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful
spewing shall be on thy glory.
You will be filled with shame instead of glory. You too must drink and
expose your
uncircumcision! The cup in the LORD’s right hand will
come around to you, and utter disgrace will cover your glory.
When I heard, my
belly trembled; my lips
quivered at the voice:
rottenness entered into my bones, and I
trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he
cometh up unto the people, he will
invade them with his troops.
I heard and
trembled within; my lips
quivered at the sound. Decay entered my bones; I
trembled where I stood. Yet I must wait patiently for the day of distress to
come upon the people who
invade us.
And it shall
come to pass in the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, that I will
punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange
apparel.
“On the Day of the LORD’s sacrifice I will
punish the princes, the sons of the king, and all who are dressed in foreign
apparel.
And it shall
come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an
howling from the second, and a great
crashing from the hills.
On that day,” declares the LORD, “a cry will go up from the Fish Gate, a
wail from the Second District, and a loud
crashing from the hills.
And it shall
come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and
punish the men that are settled on their
lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
And at that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and
punish the men settled in
complacency, who say to themselves, ‘The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.’
Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the
chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD
come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger
come upon you.
before the decree takes effect and the day passes like
chaff, before the burning anger of the LORD
comes upon you, before the Day of the LORD’s anger
comes upon you.
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.
that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD.’”
And I will
shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall
come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
I will
shake all the nations, and they will
come with all their treasures, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.
And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the
chariots, and those that
ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall
come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn
chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
Then said I, What
come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are
come to
fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to
scatter it.
“What are these coming to do?” I asked. And He replied, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise his head; but the
craftsmen have
come to
terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations that have lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to
scatter it.”
Ho, ho,
come forth, and
flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
“Get up! Get up!
Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven,” declares the LORD.
Sing and
rejoice, O daughter of
Zion: for, lo, I
come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy and be
glad, O Daughter of
Zion, for I am coming to dwell among you,” declares the LORD.
Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are
come from Babylon, and
come thou the same day, and go into the house of
Josiah the son of
Zephaniah;
“Take an offering from the exiles—from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon—and go that same day to the house of
Josiah son of
Zephaniah.
And they that are far off shall
come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall
come to pass, if ye will
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
Even those far away will
come and build the temple of the LORD, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you. This will happen if you
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.”
Therefore it is
come to pass, that as he
cried, and they would not hear; so they
cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
And just as I had called and they would not
listen, so when they called I would not
listen, says the LORD of Hosts.
