But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto
whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
But the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be beaten with few blows.
From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and
from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded.

When thou goest with thine
adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give
diligence that thou mayest be delivered
from him; lest he
hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
Make every effort to
reconcile with your
adversary while you are on your way to the magistrate. Otherwise, he may
drag you off to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and the officer may throw you into prison.

from thine

hypocrite,
doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his
ass from the
stall, and lead him away to watering?
“You hypocrites!” the Lord replied. “Does not each of you on the Sabbath
untie his ox or
donkey from the
stall and lead it to water?
And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom
Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed
from this bond on the sabbath day?
Then should not this daughter of Abraham, whom
Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be released
from her
bondage on the Sabbath day?”
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to
knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside
knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are

front of

The
manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking away my position? I am too weak to
dig and too

I know what I will do, so that after my removal
from management, people will

And besides all this, a great
chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot cross
from here to you, nor can
anyone cross
from there to us.’

plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come

lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
For just as the

from one end to the other, so will be the Son of Man in His day.

nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to
rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
And as He approached the descent
from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of disciples began to praise God
joyfully in a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:

And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy
visitation.

from the country, and put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him

who had not consented to their decision or action. He was
from the
Judean town of
Arimathea, and was waiting for the kingdom of God.
And the women also, which came with him
from Galilee, followed after, and
beheld the
sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
The women who had come with Jesus
from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed.
And they found the stone rolled away
from the
sepulchre.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
And returned
from the
sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
And of his
fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
And this was John’s testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, “Who are you?”
And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending
from heaven like a
dove, and it abode upon him.
Then John
testified, “I saw the Spirit descending
from heaven like a
dove and resting on Him.

Now Philip was
from Bethsaida, the same town as Andrew and Peter.

from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the
bridegroom aside
And when he had made a
scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;

When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him,
Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come
from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
He came to Jesus at night and said, “

from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and

from or where it is going. So it is with
everyone born of the Spirit.”

Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a
Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the
Samaritans.
“You are a
Jew,” said the woman. “How can You ask for a drink
from me, a
Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with
Samaritans.)
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
“Sir,” the woman replied, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where then will You get this living water?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and
drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well and
drank from it himself, as did his sons and his
livestock?”
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.
And upon this came his disciples, and
marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
And many of the
Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which
testified, He told me all that ever I did.
Many of the
Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into
Galilee, he went unto him, and
besought him that he would come down, and
heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
When he heard that Jesus had come
from Judea to
Galilee, he went and
begged Him to come down and
heal his son, who was about to die.
This is again the second
miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into
Galilee.
This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming
from Judea into
Galilee.
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed
from death unto life.
Truly, truly, I tell you,
whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over
from death to life.
But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
Even though I do not accept human testimony, I say these things so that you may be saved.
I receive not honour from men.
I do not accept glory from men,
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
How can you believe if you accept glory from one another, yet do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
(
Howbeit there came other boats
from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given
thanks:)
However, some boats
from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given
thanks.
Our fathers did eat
manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread
from heaven to eat.
Our fathers
ate the
manna in the wilderness, as it is written: ‘He gave them bread
from heaven to eat.’”
Then Jesus said unto them,
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread
from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread
from heaven.
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.
The Jews then
murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down
from heaven.
At this, the Jews began to
grumble about Jesus because He had said, “I am the bread that came down
from heaven.”
And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven?’”
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’
Everyone who has heard the Father and learned
from Him comes to Me—
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
not that
anyone has seen the Father except the One who is
from God; only He has seen the Father.
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
This is the bread that comes down
from heaven, so that
anyone may eat of it and not die.
