discern righteousness and justice and
equity—every good path.

hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks

plead the case of the widow.”

harlot! it was full of
judgment; righteousness
lodged in it; but now murderers.
See how the faithful city has become a
harlot! She once was full of justice; righteousness resided within her, but now only murderers!
Thy princes are
rebellious, and companions of
thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they
judge not the fatherless, neither
doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
Your rulers are rebels, friends of
thieves. They all love bribes and
chasing after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, and the
plea of the widow never comes before them.
And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
This is the message that was revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
And he shall
judge among the nations, and shall
rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Then He will
judge between the nations and
arbitrate for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into
pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor train anymore for war.
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts,
doth take away from Jerusalem and from
Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
For behold, the Lord GOD of Hosts is about to remove from Jerusalem and Judah both supply and support: the whole supply of food and water,
The mighty man, and the man of war, the
judge, and the prophet, and the
prudent, and the ancient,
the mighty man and the
warrior, the
judge and the prophet, the
soothsayer and the elder,
For Jerusalem is ruined, and
Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to
provoke the eyes of his glory.
For Jerusalem has
stumbled and
Judah has fallen because they spoke and acted against the LORD,
defying His glorious presence.
The LORD standeth up to
plead, and standeth to
judge the people.
The LORD arises to
contend; He stands to
judge the people.
The LORD will enter into
judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the
vineyard; the
spoil of the poor is in your houses.
The LORD brings this charge against the elders and leaders of His people: “You have
devoured the
vineyard; the
plunder of the poor is in your houses.
When the Lord shall have washed away the
filth of the daughters of
Zion, and shall have
purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of
judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
when the Lord has washed away the
filth of the daughters of
Zion and
cleansed the bloodstains from the heart of Jerusalem by a spirit of
judgment and a spirit of fire.
And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of
Judah,
judge, I pray you,
betwixt me and my
vineyard.
“And now, O dwellers of Jerusalem and men of
Judah, I
exhort you to
judge between Me and My
vineyard.
For the
vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of
Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for
judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
For the
vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of
Judah are the plant of His delight. He looked for justice, but saw
bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard a cry of distress.
But the LORD of hosts shall be
exalted in
judgment, and God that is holy shall be
sanctified in righteousness.
But the LORD of Hosts will be
exalted by His justice, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
And it came to pass in the days of
Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of
Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
Now in the days that

Judah, Rezin king of
Aram marched up to
wage war against Jerusalem. He was accompanied by Pekah son of Remaliah the king of Israel, but he could not overpower the city.
Let us go up against
Judah, and
vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
‘Let us
invade Judah,
terrorize it, and divide it among ourselves. Then we can
install the son of Tabeal over it as king.’
The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
The LORD will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since the day Ephraim separated from Judah—He will bring the king of Assyria.”
And he shall pass through
Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O
Immanuel.
It will pour into
Judah,
swirling and
sweeping over it, reaching up to the neck; its spreading streams will cover your entire land, O
Immanuel!
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and
sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will
accomplish this.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim,
Manasseh: and they together shall be against
Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim
Manasseh; together they turn against
Judah.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
To turn aside the
needy from
judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may
rob the fatherless!
to deprive the poor of fair treatment and
withhold justice from the
oppressed of My people, to make widows their prey and orphans their
plunder.
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what His eyes see, and He will not decide by what His ears hear,
But with righteousness shall he
judge the poor, and reprove with
equity for the
meek of the earth: and he shall
smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he
slay the wicked.
but with righteousness He will
judge the poor, and with
equity He will decide for the lowly of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth and
slay the wicked with the breath of His lips.
And he shall set up an
ensign for the nations, and shall
assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the
dispersed of
Judah from the four corners of the earth.
He will raise a
banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of
Judah from the four corners of the earth.
The
envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the
adversaries of
Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not
envy Judah, and
Judah shall not
vex Ephraim.
Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and the
adversaries of
Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will no longer
envy Judah, nor will
Judah harass Ephraim.
Take counsel,
execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the
noonday; hide the outcasts;
bewray not him that wandereth.
“Give us counsel; render a decision. Shelter us at
noonday with shade as dark as night. Hide the refugees; do not
betray the one who flees.
And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
in loving devotion a throne will be established in the tent of David. A
judge seeking justice and
hastening righteousness will sit on it in faithfulness.
And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
The land of
Judah will bring terror to Egypt; whenever
Judah is mentioned, Egypt will
tremble over what the LORD of Hosts has
planned against it.
And he discovered the covering of
Judah, and thou
didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.
He has uncovered the defenses of Judah. On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest.
And I will
clothe him with thy
robe, and
strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of
Judah.
I will
clothe him with your
robe and
tie your
sash around him. I will put your authority in his hand, and he will be a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem and to the house of
Judah.
In that day shall this song be sung in the land of
Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God
appoint for walls and bulwarks.
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation is established as its walls and ramparts.
Yea, in the way of thy
judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the
remembrance of thee.
Yes, we wait for You, O LORD; we walk in the path of Your
judgments. Your name and
renown are the desire of our souls.
With my soul have I desired thee in the night;
yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy
judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
My soul longs for You in the night; indeed, my spirit seeks You at
dawn. For when Your
judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
a spirit of justice to him who sits in
judgment, and a strength to those who
repel the
onslaught at the gate.
But they also have
erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have
erred through strong drink, they are
swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they
err in vision, they
stumble in
judgment.
Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the
plummet: and the
hail shall
sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level.
Hail will
sweep away your refuge of lies, and water will flood your hiding place.
And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be
gracious unto you, and therefore will he be
exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of
judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Therefore the LORD longs to be
gracious to you; therefore He rises to show you
compassion, for the LORD is a just God. Blessed are all who wait for Him.
Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.
Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice.
Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
Then justice will inhabit the wilderness, and righteousness will dwell in the fertile field.
The LORD is
exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled
Zion with
judgment and righteousness.
The LORD is
exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled
Zion with justice and righteousness.
For the LORD is our
judge, the LORD is our
lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
For the LORD is our
Judge, the LORD is our
lawgiver, the LORD is our King. It is He who will save us.
For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon
Idumea, and upon the people of my
curse, to
judgment.
When My sword has
drunk its fill in the heavens, then it will come down upon
Edom, upon the people I have devoted to destruction.
Now it came to pass in the
fourteenth year of king
Hezekiah, that
Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of
Judah, and took them.
But if thou say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars
Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to
Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
But if you say to me, ‘We trust in the LORD our God,’ is He not the One whose high places and altars
Hezekiah has removed, saying to
Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship before this altar’?
Thus shall ye speak to
Hezekiah king of
Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest,
deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
“Give this message to
Hezekiah king of
Judah: ‘Do not let your God, in whom you trust,
deceive you by saying that Jerusalem will not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
And the
remnant that is escaped of the house of
Judah shall again take root
downward, and bear fruit upward:
And the
surviving remnant of the house of
Judah will again take root below and bear fruit above.
