Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be
hid; and I shall be a
fugitive and a

fugitive and a
wanderer on the earth, and

Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to
slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they

digged down a wall.

kill men in their anger, and
hamstring oxen on a
whim.

slew all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the

matrix, being males; but all the
firstborn of my children I
redeem.
And when Pharaoh
stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD
killed every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of man and beast. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the
firstborn male of every
womb, but I
redeem all the
firstborn of my sons.’

wont to

slay thou not: for I will not
justify the wicked.

sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
Slaughter the ram, take some of its blood, and put it on the right earlobes of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the
big toes of their right feet.
Sprinkle the remaining blood on all sides of the altar.
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to
slay them in the mountains, and to
consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and
repent of this evil against thy people.
Why should the Egyptians declare, ‘He brought them out with evil intent, to
kill them in the mountains and
wipe them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce anger and relent from doing
harm to Your people.

kill the

sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.

In the place where they
kill the burnt offering shall they
kill the
trespass offering: and the blood thereof shall he
sprinkle round about upon the altar.
The guilt offering must be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and the priest shall
sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar.
And he
killed it; and Moses
sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.
Moses slaughtered the ram and
sprinkled the blood on all sides of the altar.
And the priest shall command that one of the birds be
killed in an
earthen vessel over running water:
Then the priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered over fresh water in a clay pot.
As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the
cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the
hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was
killed over the running water:
And he is to take the live bird together with the
cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and
hyssop, and dip them into the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over the fresh water.
And he shall
slay the lamb in the place where he shall
kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the
trespass offering: it is most holy:
Then he is to slaughter the lamb in the sanctuary area where the sin offering and burnt offering are slaughtered. Like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest; it is most holy.
And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall
kill the burnt offering:

atonement for the one to be
cleansed from his uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering
And he shall
kill the lamb of the
trespass offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the
trespass offering, and put it upon the
tip of the right ear of him that is to be
cleansed, and upon the
thumb of his right hand, and upon the great
toe of his right foot:
And after he slaughters the lamb for the guilt offering, the priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be
cleansed, on the
thumb of his right hand, and on the
big toe of his right foot.
And he shall
kill the one of the birds in an
earthen vessel over running water:
and he shall slaughter one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.
And Aaron shall bring the
bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an
atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall
kill the
bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:

kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the
vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the
bullock, and
sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:
Aaron shall then slaughter the goat for the sin offering for the people and bring its blood behind the
veil, and with its blood he must do as he did with the bull’s blood: He is to
sprinkle it against the mercy seat and in front of it.
What man
soever there be of the house of Israel, that
killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that
killeth it out of the camp,
‘
Anyone from the house of Israel who slaughters an ox, a lamb, or a goat in the camp or outside of it
And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto
Molech, and
kill him not:
And if the people of the land ever hide their eyes and fail to put to death the man who gives one of his children to
Molech,
And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall
slay the beast.
If a man lies
carnally with an animal, he must be put to death. And you are also to
kill the animal.
And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down
thereto, thou shalt
kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
If a woman approaches any animal to
mate with it, you must
kill both the woman and the animal. They must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
And whether it be cow or
ewe, ye shall not
kill it and her young both in one day.
But you must not slaughter an ox or a sheep on the same day as its young.
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.
And if a man takes the life of
anyone else, he must surely be put to death.
And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.
And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.
And if thou deal thus with me,
kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my
wretchedness.
If this is how You are going to treat me, please
kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and let me not see my own
wretchedness.”
Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,
If You kill this people as one man, the nations who have heard of Your fame will say,
Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to
kill us in the wilderness, except thou make
thyself altogether a prince over us?
Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to
kill us in the wilderness? Must you also
appoint yourself as ruler over us?
But on the
morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have
killed the people of the LORD.
The next day the whole congregation of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying, “You have killed the LORD’s people!”
And
whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
Anyone in the open field who touches someone who has been
killed by the sword or has died of natural causes, or
anyone who touches a human bone or a grave, will be unclean for seven days.
And
Balaam said unto the
ass, Because thou hast
mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I
kill thee.
Balaam answered the
donkey, “You have made a
fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would
kill you right now!”
And the
ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.
The
donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If she had not turned away, then by now I would surely have
killed you and let her live.”
And Moses said unto the judges of Israel,
Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto
Baal-peor.
So Moses told the judges of Israel, “Each of you must
kill all of his men who have joined in worshiping
Baal of Peor.”
For they
vex you with their wiles,
wherewith they have
beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of
Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.
For they
assailed you
deceitfully when they
seduced you in the matter of Peor and their sister Cozbi, the daughter of the Midianite leader, the woman who was
killed on the day the plague came because of Peor.”
And they
warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they
slew all the males.
Then they
waged war against
Midian, as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they
killed every male.
And they
slew the kings of
Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of
Midian:
Balaam also the son of Beor they
slew with the sword.
Among the slain were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of
Midian. They also
killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man,
All of you who have
killed a person or touched the dead are to remain outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and the seventh day you are to
purify both
yourselves and your
captives.
Then ye shall
appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the
slayer may
flee thither, which
killeth any person at unawares.
These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the
sojourner among them: that every one that
killeth any person unawares may
flee thither.
These six cities will serve as a refuge for the Israelites and for the foreigner or stranger among them, so that
anyone who
kills a person
unintentionally may
flee there.
And if he
smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
If, however,
anyone strikes a person with an iron object and
kills him, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
And if he
smite him with throwing a stone,
wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Or if
anyone has in his hand a stone of deadly size, and he strikes and
kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
Or if he
smite him with an hand weapon of wood,
wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
If
anyone has in his hand a deadly object of wood, and he strikes and
kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
The
revenger of blood himself shall
slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall
slay him.
The
avenger of blood is to put the murderer to death; when he finds him, he is to
kill him.
But if he thrust him of hatred, or
hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;
Or in
enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that
smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the
revenger of blood shall
slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.
or if in hostility he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death; he is a murderer. When the
avenger of blood finds the murderer, he is to
kill him.
Or with any stone,
wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his
harm:
or without looking drops a heavy stone that
kills him, but he was not an enemy and did not intend to
harm him,
And the
revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the
revenger of blood
kill the
slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:
and the
avenger of blood finds him outside of his city of refuge and
kills him, then the
avenger will not be guilty of
bloodshed Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not
testify against any person to cause him to die.
If
anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death on the testimony of the witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of a
lone witness.
That the
slayer might
flee thither, which should
kill his neighbour unawares, and
hated him not in times past; and that
fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:
Thou shalt not kill.
You shall not murder.
Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he
hated them, he hath brought them out to
slay them in the wilderness.
Otherwise, those in the land from which You brought us out will say, ‘Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land He had promised them, and because He
hated them, He has brought them out to
kill them in the wilderness.’
Notwithstanding thou mayest
kill and eat flesh in all thy gates,
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the
roebuck, and as of the
hart.
But whenever you want, you may slaughter and eat meat within any of your gates, according to the blessing the LORD your God has given you. Both the
ceremonially clean and unclean may eat it as they would a
gazelle or deer,
If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt
kill of thy
herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
If the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His Name is too far from you, then you may slaughter any of the
herd or flock He has given you, as I have commanded you, and you may eat it within your gates whenever you want.
But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
Instead, you must surely kill him. Your hand must be the first against him to put him to death, and then the hands of all the people.
And this is the case of the
slayer, which shall
flee thither, that he may live:
Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he
hated not in time past;
Now this is the situation regarding the
manslayer who flees to one of these cities to save his life, having
killed his
neighbor accidentally, without intending to
harm him:
As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to
hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the
axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the
helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall
flee unto one of those cities, and live:
If he goes into the forest with his
neighbor to cut timber and swings his
axe to
chop down a tree, but the
blade flies off the handle and strikes and
kills his
neighbor, he may
flee to one of these cities to save his life.
