That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
to sell me the cave of Machpelah that belongs to him; it is at the end of his field. Let him sell it to me in your presence for full price, so that I may have a burial site.”
And
Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art
much mightier than we.
Then
Abimelech said to Isaac, “Depart from us, for you are
much too powerful for us.”
And the man increased exceedingly, and had
much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and
asses.
Thus Jacob became exceedingly prosperous. He owned large flocks, maidservants and menservants, and camels and
donkeys.
Ask me never so
much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the
damsel to wife.
Demand a high
dowry and an expensive gift, and I will give you whatever you ask. Only give me the
girl as my wife!”
And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.
So Joseph stored up grain in such abundance, like the sand of the sea, that he stopped keeping
track of it; for it was beyond measure.
And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin’s
mess was five times so
much as any of theirs. And they
drank, and were
merry with him.
When the portions were served to them from Joseph’s table, Benjamin’s portion was five times larger than any of the others. So they feasted and
drank freely with Joseph.
And he commanded the
steward of his house, saying, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as
much as they can carry, and put every man’s money in his
sack’s mouth.
Then Joseph
instructed his
steward: “Fill the men’s sacks with as
much food as they can carry, and put each one’s silver in the mouth of his
sack.
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
As for you, what you intended against me for evil, God intended for good, in order to
accomplish a day like this—to preserve the lives of many people.
And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
And a mixed multitude also went up with them, along with great droves of
livestock, both flocks and herds.
It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
Because the LORD kept a
vigil that night to bring them out of the land of Egypt, this same night is to be a
vigil to the LORD, to be observed by all the Israelites for the generations to come.
And the waters returned, and covered the
chariots, and the
horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so
much as one of them.
The waters flowed back and covered the
chariots and
horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had
chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
Then on the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather on the other days.”
This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an
omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Each one is to gather as
much as he needs. You may take an
omer for each person in your tent.’”
And when they did
mete it with an
omer, he that gathered
much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
When they measured it by the
omer, he who gathered
much had no excess, and he who gathered little had no shortfall. Each one gathered as
much as he needed to eat.
And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
Every morning each one gathered as much as was needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away.
And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much food—two omers per person—and all the leaders of the congregation came and reported this to Moses.
Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure
myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet
cinnamon half so
much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet
calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,
And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD has commanded us to do.”
For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
since what they already had was more than enough to perform all the work.
And every meat offering, mingled with oil, and dry, shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as much as another.
and every grain offering, whether dry or mixed with oil, belongs equally to all the sons of Aaron.
But if the
scab spread
much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his
cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again:
But if the
rash spreads further on his skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his
cleansing, he must present himself again to the priest.
And if it spread
much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.
If it spreads any further on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is an
infection.
And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread
much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine him, and if it has spread further on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
If, however, the
scaly outbreak spreads further on the skin after his
cleansing,
And if he be poor, and cannot get so
much; then he shall take one lamb for a
trespass offering to be waved, to make an
atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;
If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make
atonement for him, along with a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,
And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too
much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up
yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
They came together against Moses and Aaron and told them, “You have taken too
much upon
yourselves! For
everyone in the entire congregation is holy, and the LORD is in their midst. Why then do you
exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?”
And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to
morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD
doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too
much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
and
tomorrow you are to place fire and incense in them in the presence of the LORD. Then the man the LORD chooses will be the one who is holy. It is you sons of Levi who have taken too
much upon
yourselves!”
And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And
Edom came out against him with
much people, and with a strong hand.
But
Edom insisted, “You may not pass through.” And they came out to
confront the Israelites with a large army and a strong hand.
And they journeyed from mount
Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of
Edom: and the soul of the people was
much discouraged because of the way.
Then they set out from Mount
Hor along the route to the Red Sea, in order to bypass the land of
Edom. But the people grew impatient on the journey
And the LORD sent
fiery serpents among the people, and they
bit the people; and
much people of Israel died.
So the LORD sent
venomous snakes among the people, and many of the Israelites were
bitten and died.
Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so
much as a
footbreadth; because I have given mount
Seir unto
Esau for a possession.
Do not
provoke them, for I will not give you any of their land, not even a
footprint, because I have given Mount
Seir to
Esau as his possession.
But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have
much cattle,) shall
abide in your cities which I have given you;
But your wives, your children, and your
livestock—I know that you have
much livestock—may remain in the cities I have given you,
Thou shalt carry
much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the
locust shall
consume it.
You will
sow much seed in the field but harvest little, because the locusts will
consume it.
For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been
rebellious against the LORD; and how
much more after my death?
For I know how
rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you are already rebelling against the LORD while I am still alive, how
much more will you
rebel after my death!
And they went out, they and all their hosts with them,
much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and
chariots very many.
So these kings came out with all their armies, a multitude as numerous as the sand on the
seashore, along with a great number of horses and
chariots.
Now Joshua was old and
stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and
stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very
much land to be possessed.
Now Joshua was old and well along in years, and the LORD said to him, “You are old and well along in years, but very much of the land remains to be possessed.
Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of
Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too
much for them: therefore the children of
Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the territory of Judah, because the share for Judah’s descendants was too large for them. So the Simeonites received an inheritance within Judah’s portion.
And he spake unto them, saying, Return with
much riches unto your tents, and with very
much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very
much raiment: divide the
spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
saying, “Return to your homes with your great wealth, with immense herds of
livestock, with silver, gold, bronze, iron, and very many clothes. Divide with your brothers the
spoil of your enemies.”
And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever
strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them,
Are you now so
much better than Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever
contend with Israel or fight against them?
And she
wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay
sore upon him: and she told the
riddle to the children of her people.
She
wept the whole seven days of the feast, and finally on the seventh day, because she had pressed him so
much, he told her the answer. And in turn she explained the
riddle to her people.
Would ye
tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands?
nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me
much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.
would you wait for them to grow up? Would you
refrain from having husbands? No, my daughters, it grieves me very
much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me.”
And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as
much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him,
Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.
And if any man said to him, “The fat must be burned first; then you may take whatever you want,” the servant would reply, “No, you must give it to me right now. If you refuse, I will take it by force!”
How
much more, if
haply the people had eaten freely to day of the
spoil of their enemies which they found? for had there not been now a
much greater slaughter among the Philistines?
How
much better it would have been if the troops had eaten freely
today from the
plunder they took from their enemies! Would not the slaughter of the Philistines have been
much greater?”
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to
hearken than the fat of rams.
But Samuel declared: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as
much as in obedience to His voice? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and
attentiveness is better than the fat of rams.
Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, that David
behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was
much set by.
Every time the
Philistine commanders came out for battle, David was more successful than all of Saul’s officers, so that his name was highly esteemed.
But
Jonathan Saul’s son delighted
much in David: and
Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take
heed to
thyself until the morning, and
abide in a secret place, and hide
thyself:
so he
warned David, saying, “My father Saul intends to kill you. Be on your guard in the morning; find a secret place and hide there.
The LORD do so and
much more to
Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil, then I will
shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
But if my father intends to bring evil on you, then may the LORD
punish me, and ever so severely, if I do not tell you and send you on your way in safety. May the LORD be with you, just as He has been with my father.
And David laid up these words in his heart, and was
sore afraid of Achish the king of
Gath.
Now David took these words to heart and was very
much afraid of Achish the king of
Gath.
And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
But David’s men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah; how much more if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”
And, behold, as thy life was
much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be
much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him deliver me out of all
tribulation.
As surely as I valued your life
today, so may the LORD value my life and
rescue me from all trouble.”
How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
How much more, when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house and on his own bed, shall I not now require his blood from your hands and remove you from the earth!”
And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
And from Betah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.
But
Absalom fled. And the young man that kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came
much people by the way of the hill side behind him.
Meanwhile,
Absalom had fled. When the young man standing watch looked up, he saw many people coming down the road west of him, along the side of the hill. And the
watchman went and reported to the king, “I see men coming from the direction of Horonaim, along the side of the hill.”
But in all Israel there was none to be so
much praised as
Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no
blemish in him.
Now there was not a man in all Israel as handsome and highly praised as
Absalom. From the sole of his foot to the top of his head, he did not have a single
flaw.
And David said to
Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my
bowels, seeketh my life: how
much more now may this
Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him
curse; for the LORD hath
bidden him.
Then David said to
Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my own son, my own flesh and blood, seeks my life. How
much more, then, this
Benjamite! Leave him alone and let him
curse me, for the LORD has told him so.
So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the
dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so
much as one.
Then we will attack David wherever we find him, and we will descend on him like
dew on the ground. And of all the men with him, not even one will remain.
And the king was
much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and
wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son
Absalom, my son, my son
Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O
Absalom, my son, my son!
The king was
shaken and went up to the gate chamber and
wept. And as he walked, he
cried out, “O my son
Absalom! My son, my son
Absalom! If only I had died instead of you, O
Absalom, my son, my son!”
And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
Solomon replied, “You have shown much loving devotion to Your servant, my father David, because he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart. And You have maintained this loving devotion by giving him a son to sit on his throne this very day.
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
And God gave Solomon wisdom, exceedingly deep insight, and understanding beyond measure, like the sand on the
seashore.
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
But will God indeed dwell upon the earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.
And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
She arrived in Jerusalem with a very large
caravan—with camels bearing spices, gold in great abundance, and precious stones. So she came to Solomon and spoke to him all that was on her mind.
Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two
calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too
much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
After seeking advice, the king made two golden
calves and said to the people, “Going up to Jerusalem is too
much for you. Here, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”
And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
A second time the angel of the LORD returned and touched him, saying, “Get up and eat, or the journey will be too much for you.”
And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had
bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how
much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
Naaman’s servants, however, approached him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How
much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be
cleansed’?”
And
Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules’ burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
“If you will not,” said
Naaman, “please let me, your servant, be given as
much soil as a pair of mules can carry. For your servant will never again make a burnt offering or a sacrifice to any other god but the LORD.
And
Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them,
Ahab served
Baal a little; but
Jehu shall serve him
much.
Then
Jehu brought all the people together and said, “
Ahab served
Baal a little, but
Jehu will serve him a lot.
And it was so, when they saw that there was
much money in the chest, that the king’s
scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.
Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the royal
scribe and the high priest would go up, count the money brought into the house of the LORD, and
tie it up in bags.
And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought
much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced
sorcery and
divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger.
Moreover
Manasseh shed innocent blood very
much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin
wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
Moreover,
Manasseh shed so
much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end, in addition to the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, doing evil in the sight of the LORD.
Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very
much brass,
wherewith Solomon made the
brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
And from Tibhath and
Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took a large amount of bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze Sea, the pillars, and various bronze articles.
And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to
weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought also exceeding
much spoil out of the city.
Then David took the crown from the head of their king. It was found to
weigh a talent of gold and was set with precious stones, and it was placed on David’s head. And David took a great amount of
plunder from the city.
Also
cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought
much cedar wood to David.
and more
cedar logs than could be counted; for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large quantity of
cedar logs to David.
But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
but this word of the LORD came to me: ‘You have shed
much blood and
waged great wars. You are not to build a house for My Name because you have shed so
much blood on the ground before Me.
And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his
stead.
Solomon replied to God: “You have shown much loving devotion to my father David, and You have made me king in his place.
And we will cut wood out of
Lebanon, as
much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in flotes by sea to
Joppa; and thou shall carry it up to Jerusalem.
We will cut logs from
Lebanon, as many as you need, and we will
float them to you as rafts by sea down to
Joppa. Then you can take them up to Jerusalem.”
But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
But will God indeed dwell with man upon the earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.
And
Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto
Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very
much spoil.
Then
Asa and his army pursued them as far as
Gerar. The Cushites fell and could not recover, for they were
crushed before the LORD and His army. So the people of Judah carried off a great amount of
plunder And they
smote all the cities round about
Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they
spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding
much spoil in them.
and attacked all the cities around
Gerar, because the terror of the LORD had fallen upon them. They
plundered all the cities, since there was
much plunder there.
And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.
and kept vast supplies in the cities of Judah. He also had warriors in Jerusalem who were mighty men of
valor.
And when
Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the
spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they
stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the
spoil, it was so
much.
Then
Jehoshaphat and his people went to carry off the
plunder, and they found on the bodies an abundance of goods and valuables—more than they could carry away. They were gathering the
plunder for three days because there was so
much.
Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was
much money, the king’s
scribe and the high priest’s officer came and
emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
Whenever the chest was brought by the Levites to the king’s overseers and they saw that there was a large amount of money, the royal
scribe and the officer of the high priest would come and empty the chest and carry it back to its place. They did this daily and gathered the money in abundance.
And
Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee
much more than this.
Amaziah asked the man of God, “What should I do about the hundred talents I have given to the army of Israel?” And the man of God replied, “The LORD is able to give you
much more than this.”
But the soldiers of the army which
Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Beth-horon, and
smote three thousand of them, and took
much spoil.
Meanwhile the troops that
Amaziah had dismissed from battle
raided the cities of Judah, from Samaria to Beth-horon. They struck down 3,000 people and carried off a great deal of
plunder.
Also he built towers in the desert, and
digged many wells: for he had
much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains:
husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in
Carmel: for he loved
husbandry.
Since he had
much livestock in the foothills and in the plain, he built towers in the desert and
dug many cisterns. And since he was a lover of the soil, he had farmers and vinedressers in the hill country and in the fertile fields.
He built the high gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.
Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD, and he worked extensively on the wall at the hill of Ophel.
He fought also with the king of the
Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of
Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So
much did the children of
Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.
Jotham
waged war against the king of the
Ammonites and defeated them, and that year they gave him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. They paid him the same in the second and third years.
And the children of Israel carried away
captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away
much spoil from them, and brought the
spoil to Samaria.
Then the Israelites took 200,000
captives from their
kinsmen—women, sons, and daughters. They also carried off a great deal of
plunder and brought it to Samaria.
And there assembled at Jerusalem
much people to keep the feast of
unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.
In the second month, a very great assembly gathered in Jerusalem to
celebrate the Feast of
Unleavened Bread.
So there was gathered
much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the
brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find
much water?
Many people assembled and stopped up all the springs and the stream that flowed through the land. “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find
plenty of water?” they said.
Now therefore let not
Hezekiah deceive you, nor
persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how
much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?
So now, do not let
Hezekiah deceive you, and do not let him mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How
much less will your God deliver you from my hand!”
And
Hezekiah had exceeding
much riches and honour: and he made himself
treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of pleasant jewels;
Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made
treasuries for his silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of valuable articles.
Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him substance very much.
He made cities for himself, and he acquired herds of sheep and cattle in abundance, for God gave him very great wealth.
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of
Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used
witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought
much evil in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of
Hinnom. He practiced
sorcery,
divination, and
witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger.
Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people,
transgressed very
much after all the abominations of the heathen; and
polluted the house of the LORD which he had
hallowed in Jerusalem.
Furthermore, all the leaders of the priests and the people multiplied their unfaithful deeds, following all the abominations of the nations, and they

transgressed greatly in this matter.

Meanwhile, the people of Judah said: “The strength of the laborer fails, and there is so
much rubble that we will never be able to rebuild the wall.”

When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and
disheartened, for they realized that this task had been accomplished by our God.
And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
Its abundant harvest goes to the kings You have set over us because of our sins. And they rule over our bodies and our
livestock as they please. We are in great distress.
