Is Christ divided? was Paul
crucified for you? or were ye
baptized in the
name of Paul?
Is Christ divided? Was Paul
crucified for you? Were you
baptized into the
name of Paul?
Lest any should say that I had
baptized in mine own
name.
so no one can say that you were
baptized into my
name.
It is reported commonly that there is
fornication among you, and such
fornication as is not so much as
named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is
intolerable even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of the Lord Jesus,
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are
sanctified, but ye are justified in the
name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were
sanctified, you were justified, in the
name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a
hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of
greed.
Giving
thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
always giving
thanks to God the Father for everything in the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Wherefore God also hath highly
exalted him, and given him a
name which is above every
name:
Therefore God
exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the
name above all
names,
That at the
name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
that at the
name of Jesus every
knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
And I intreat thee also, true
yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose
names are in the book of life.
Yes, and I ask you, my true
yokefellow, to help these women who have labored with me for the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose
names are in the Book of Life.
That their hearts might be comforted, being
knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the
mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
that they may be encouraged in heart,
knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the
mystery of God,
namely Christ,
And
whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God and the Father by him.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through Him.
That the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be
glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
so that the
name of our Lord Jesus will be
glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now we command you, brethren, in the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw
yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother who leads an undisciplined life that is not in keeping with the tradition you received from us.
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the
name of God and his doctrine be not
blasphemed.
All who are under the yoke of slavery should regard their masters as fully worthy of honor, so that God’s name and our teaching will not be discredited.
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “
Everyone who calls on the
name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.”
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
So He became as far superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is excellent beyond theirs.
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
He says: “I will
proclaim Your
name to My brothers; I will sing Your praises in the assembly.”
For God is not unrighteous to
forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his
name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
For God is not unjust. He will not
forget your work and the love you have shown for His
name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.
To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of
Salem, which is, King of peace;
and Abraham
apportioned to him a tenth of everything. First, his
name means “king of righteousness.” Then also, “king of
Salem” means “king of peace.”
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving
thanks to his
name.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that
confess His
name.
Do not they
blaspheme that worthy
name by the which ye are called?
Are they not the ones who
blaspheme the noble
name by which you have been called?
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the
name of the Lord, for an example of suffering
affliction, and of
patience.
Brothers, as an example of
patience in
affliction, take the prophets who spoke in the
name of the Lord.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the
name of the Lord:
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and
anoint him with oil in the
name of the Lord.
If ye be reproached for the
name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is
glorified.
If you are
insulted for the
name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be
ashamed; but let him
glorify God on this behalf.
But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be
ashamed, but
glorify God that you bear that
name.
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are
forgiven you for his
name’s sake.
I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been
forgiven through His
name.
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
For they went out on behalf of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles.
But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends
salute thee.
Greet the friends by
name.
Instead, I hope to see you soon and speak with you face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send you greetings.
Greet each of our friends there by
name.
And hast borne, and hast
patience, and for my
name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not
fainted.
I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where
Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my
name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein
Antipas was my faithful
martyr, who was slain among you, where
Satan dwelleth.
I know where you live, where the throne of
Satan sits. Yet you have held fast to My
name and have not denied your faith in Me, even in the day when My faithful witness
Antipas was killed among you, where
Satan dwells.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden
manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new
name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will give the hidden
manna. I will also give him a white stone inscribed with a new
name, known only to the one who receives it.
And unto the angel of the church in
Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a
name that thou livest, and art dead.
“To the angel of the church in
Sardis write: These are the words of the One who holds the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation for being alive, yet you are dead.
Thou hast a few
names even in
Sardis which have not
defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
But you do have a few people in
Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and because they are worthy, they will walk with Me in white.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white
raiment; and I will not
blot out his
name out of the book of life, but I will
confess his
name before my Father, and before his angels.
Like them, he who overcomes will be dressed in white. And I will never
blot out his
name from the Book of Life, but I will
confess his
name before My Father and His angels.
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door, which no one can shut. For you have only a little strength, yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name.
Him that overcometh will I make a
pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the
name of my God, and the
name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new
name.
The one who overcomes I will make a
pillar in the temple of My God, and he will never again leave it. Upon him I will write the
name of My God, and the
name of the city of My God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from My God), and My new
name.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his
name that sat on him was Death, and
Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Then I looked and saw a pale green horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth.
And the
name of the star is called
Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became
wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
The
name of the star is
Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter like
wormwood oil, and many people died from the bitter waters.
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose
name in the Hebrew tongue is
Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his
name Apollyon.
They were ruled by a king, the angel of the
Abyss. His
name in Hebrew is
Abaddon, and in Greek it is
Apollyon.
And the nations were
angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy
name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
The nations were
enraged, and Your wrath has come. The time has come to judge the dead and to reward Your servants the prophets, as well as the saints and those who fear Your
name, both small and great— and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the
name of
blasphemy.
Then I saw a beast with ten horns and seven heads rising out of the sea. There were ten royal crowns on its horns and
blasphemous names on its heads.
And he opened his mouth in
blasphemy against God, to
blaspheme his
name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
And the beast opened its mouth to speak blasphemies against God and to
slander His
name and His tabernacle—those who dwell in heaven.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slain.
And that no man might
buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the
name of the beast, or the number of his
name.
so that no one could
buy or sell unless he had the mark—the
name of the beast or the number of its
name.
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount
Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s
name written in their foreheads.
Then I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount
Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had His
name and His Father’s
name written on their foreheads.
And the smoke of their
torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and
whosoever receiveth the mark of his
name.
And the smoke of their
torment rises
forever and ever. Day and night there is no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for
anyone who receives the mark of its
name.”
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had
gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his
name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, beside which stood those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name. They were holding harps from God,
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and
glorify thy
name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Who will not fear You, O Lord, and
glorify Your
name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”
And men were
scorched with great heat, and
blasphemed the
name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they
repented not to give him glory.
And the people were
scorched by intense heat, and they
cursed the
name of God, who had authority over these plagues; yet they did not
repent and give Him glory.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of
names of
blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
And the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, where I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with
blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
And upon her
forehead was a
name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And on her
forehead a
mysterious name was written: BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall
ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into
perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose
names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
The beast that you saw—it was, and now is no more, but is about to come up out of the
Abyss and go to its destruction. And those who dwell on the earth whose
names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will
marvel when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet will be.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
He has eyes like
blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head. He has a
name written on Him that only He Himself knows.
And he was clothed with a
vesture dipped in blood: and his
name is called The Word of God.
He is dressed in a
robe dipped in blood, and His
name is The Word of God.
And he hath on his
vesture and on his
thigh a
name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
And He has a
name written on His
robe and on His
thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
And if
anyone was found whose
name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and
names written
thereon, which are the
names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
The city had a great and high wall with twelve gates inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, and twelve angels at the gates.
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
The wall of the city had twelve foundations bearing the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither
whatsoever worketh
abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor
anyone who practices an
abomination or a lie, but only those whose
names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.
And after that king Nabuchodonosor had made him to
swear by the
name of the Lord, he
forswore himself, and rebelled; and
hardening his neck, his heart, he
transgressed the laws of the Lord God of Israel.
To go up, and to build Jerusalem, and the temple which is called by his
name: and they feasted with instruments of musick and
gladness seven days.
And these are the names of the men which went up, according to their families among their tribes, after their several heads.
And of the priests that
usurped the office of the priesthood, and were not found: the sons of Obdia, the sons of Accoz, the sons of Addus, who married Augia one of the daughters of Barzelus, and was
named after his
name.
Now in the second year of the reign of
Darius Aggeus and
Zacharias the son of Addo, the prophets,
prophesied unto the Jews in
Jewry and Jerusalem in the
name of the Lord God of Israel, which was upon them.
Therefore to the intent that we might give knowledge unto thee by writing, we demanded of them who were the chief doers, and we required of them the names in writing of their principal men.
The Lord therefore, whose
name is there called upon, utterly destroy every king and nation, that stretcheth out his hand to hinder or
endamage that house of the Lord in Jerusalem.
Of the sons of Adonikam the last, and these are the
names of them, Eliphalet,
Jewel, and Samaias, and with them seventy men:
And of the servants of the temple whom David had ordained, and the principal men for the service of the Levites to wit, the servants of the temple two hundred and twenty, the catalogue of whose names were shewed.
And now in some measure hath mercy been shewed unto us from thee, O Lord, that there should be left us a root and a name in the place of thy sanctuary;
Mightest not thou be
angry with us to destroy us, till thou hadst left us neither root, seed, nor
name?
And
Esdras the priest chose unto him the principal men of their families, all by
name: and in the first day of the tenth month they sat together to examine the matter.
And triumphed not in my
name for the destruction of your enemies, but ever to this day do ye yet
murmur.
What shall I do unto thee, O Jacob? thou, Juda, wouldest not obey me: I will turn me to other nations, and unto those will I give my name, that they may keep my statutes.
Let them be scattered abroad among the heathen, let their
names be put out of the earth: for they have
despised my covenant.
And those that be dead will I raise up again from their places, and bring them out of the graves: for I have known my name in Israel.
He answered and said unto me, These be they that have put off the
mortal clothing, and put on the
immortal, and have
confessed the
name of God: now are they crowned, and receive palms.
So he answered and said unto me, It is the Son of God, whom they have
confessed in the world. Then began I greatly to
commend them that stood so stiffly for the
name of the Lord.
Nevertheless one of them thou leftest,
namely,
Noah with his household, of whom came all righteous men.
Now when they lived so wickedly before thee, thou
didst choose thee a man from among them, whose
name was Abraham.
Whom thou commandedst to build a city unto thy name, and to offer incense and oblations unto thee therein.
Weigh thou therefore our wickedness now in the balance, and their’s also that dwell the world; and so shall thy
name no where be found but in Israel.
Thou shalt find that Israel by name hath kept thy precepts; but not the heathen.
And the angel that was sent unto me, whose name was Uriel, gave me an answer,
For it was not my mind to be curious of the high things, but of such as pass by us daily,
namely, wherefore Israel is given up as a reproach to the heathen, and for what cause the people whom thou hast loved is given over unto ungodly nations, and why the law of our forefathers is brought to
nought, and the written covenants come to none effect,
What will he then do unto his name whereby we are called? of these things have I asked.
And of all the fowls that are created thou hast
named thee one
dove: and of all the cattle that are made thou hast provided thee one sheep:
Or ever the heights of the air were lifted up, before the measures of the
firmament were
named, or ever the
chimneys in
Sion were hot,
And
didst separate the one from the other: for the seventh part,
namely, where the water was gathered together, might not hold them both.
But unto
Leviathan thou gavest the seventh part,
namely, the moist; and hast kept him to be
devoured of whom thou
wilt, and when.
For if thou hast a desire to have mercy upon us, thou shalt be called
merciful, to us
namely, that have no works of righteousness.
But they which be created have
defiled the
name of him that made them, and were
unthankful unto him which prepared life for them.
Then say I unto thee, Like as thou hast brought forth with labour; even so the earth also hath given her fruit, namely, man, ever since the beginning unto him that made her.
Our
psaltery is laid on the ground, our song is put to silence, our
rejoicing is at an end, the light of our
candlestick is put out, the ark of our covenant is
spoiled, our holy things are
defiled, and the
name that is called upon us is almost
profaned: our children are put to shame, our priests are burnt, our Levites are gone into captivity, our virgins are
defiled, and our wives
ravished; our righteous men carried away, our little ones destroyed, our young men are brought in
bondage, and our strong men are become weak;
