tempting him, that they might have to
accuse him. But Jesus

order to have a basis for
accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger.

order,
strengthening all the disciples.

Them take, and
purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may
shave their heads: and all may know that those things,
whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou
thyself also walkest
orderly, and keepest the law.
Take these men,
purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so they can have their heads
shaved. Then
everyone will know that there is no truth to these rumors about you, but that you also live in obedience to the law.

ordered that Paul be kept under guard in Herod’s
Praetorium.
Notwithstanding, that I be not further
tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy
clemency a few words.
But in
order not to burden you any further, I
beg your
indulgence to hear us briefly.
And he commanded a
centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that
oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, how often I
planned to come to you (but have been prevented from visiting until now), in
order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
Whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;
And he received the sign of
circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being
uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not
circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
And he received the sign of
circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still
uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but are not
circumcised, in
order that righteousness might be credited to them.
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Therefore, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God
forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
Yet before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad, in order that God’s plan of election might stand,
Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
so they too have now disobeyed, in order that they too may now receive mercy through the mercy shown to you.
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God.
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the
everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
but now revealed and made known through the writings of the prophets by the command of the eternal God, in order to lead all nations to the obedience that comes from faith—
And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a
snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but in
order to promote proper
decorum and undivided devotion to the Lord.
And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto
condemnation. And the rest will I set in
order when I come.
If
anyone is
hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you come together it will not result in judgment. And when I come, I will give instructions about the remaining matters.
Let all things be done decently and in order.
But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
But each in his own turn: Christ the firstfruits; then at His coming, those who belong to Him.
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given
order to the churches of
Galatia, even so do ye.
Now about the collection for the saints, you are to do as I directed the churches of
Galatia:
But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
Indeed, we felt we were under the sentence of death, in order that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God, who raises the dead.
Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to
spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
I call God as my witness that it was in
order to
spare you that I did not return to Corinth.
Lest
Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
in
order that
Satan should not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our
boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
But I am sending the brothers in
order that our
boasting about you in this matter should not prove empty, but that you will be prepared, just as I said.
Have I committed an offence in
abasing myself that ye might be
exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
Was it a sin for me to humble myself in
order to
exalt you, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?
I
robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.
I
robbed other churches by accepting their support in
order to serve you.
But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
But I will keep on doing what I am doing, in
order to undercut those who want an opportunity to be regarded as our equals in the things of which they
boast.
In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison,
desirous to
apprehend me:
In Damascus, the governor under King Aretas secured the city of the Damascenes in order to arrest me.
And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in
privily to
spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into
bondage:
This issue arose because some false brothers had come in under false pretenses to
spy on our freedom in Christ Jesus, in
order to
enslave us.
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
He redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory.
That in the ages to come he might
shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
in
order that in the coming ages He might display the
surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
He who descended is the very One who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.
Holding forth the word of life; that I may
rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
as you hold forth the word of life, in
order that I may
boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your
order, and the
stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
For although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I delight to see your orderly condition and firm faith in Christ.
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
Instead, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, not in order to please men but God, who examines our hearts.
That they all might be
damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
For this cause left I thee in
Crete, that thou shouldest set in
order the things that are wanting, and
ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
The reason I left you in
Crete was that you would set in
order what was unfinished and
appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.
And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
And our people must also learn to
devote themselves to good works in
order to meet the pressing needs of others, so that they will not be unfruitful.
Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to
enjoin thee that which is convenient,
So although in Christ I am bold enough to order you to do what is proper,
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a
merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make
reconciliation for the sins of the people.
For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, so that He might become a
merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, in
order to make
atonement for the sins of the people.
As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
and was designated by God as high priest in the
order of
Melchizedek.
And we desire that every one of you do
shew the same
diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
We want each of you to show this same
diligence to the very end, in
order to make your hope sure.
Whither the
forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the
order of Melchisedec.
If therefore perfection were by the
Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the
order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the
order of Aaron?
Now if perfection could have been attained through the
Levitical priesthood (for on this basis the people received the law), why was there still need for another priest to appear—one in the
order of
Melchizedek and not in the
order of Aaron?
For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord
sware and will not
repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the
order of Melchisedec:)
but Jesus became a priest with an oath by the One who said to Him: “The Lord has
sworn and will not change His mind: ‘You are a priest
forever.’”
Offer the
passover in
order, and make ready the sacrifices for your brethren, and keep the
passover according to the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto Moses.
And when these things were done, the priests and Levites, having the
unleavened bread, stood in very comely
order according to the kindreds,
The holy singers also, the sons of
Asaph, were in their
order, according to the appointment of David, to wit,
Asaph,
Zacharias, and
Jeduthun, who was of the king’s
retinue.
Having determined to deal
graciously, I have given
order, that such of the nation of the Jews, and of the priests and Levites being within our realm, as are willing and
desirous should go with thee unto Jerusalem.
Upon the fourth day thou commandedst that the sun should
shine, and the moon give her light, and the stars should be in
order:
The same is he whom God the Highest hath kept a great season, which by his own self shall deliver his creature: and he shall order them that are left behind.
Thy life hast thou ordered in wisdom, and hast called understanding thy mother.
Now therefore set thine house in
order, and reprove thy people, comfort such of them as be in trouble, and now
renounce corruption,
