For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to
prosper you and not to
harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of
trembling, of fear, and not of
peace.
Yes, this is what the LORD says: “A cry of
panic is heard— a cry of terror, not of
peace.
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will
reveal unto them the abundance of
peace and truth.
Nevertheless, I will bring to it health and
healing, and I will
heal its people and
reveal to them the abundance of
peace and truth.
But thou shalt die in
peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will
lament thee, saying,
Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
you will die in
peace. As spices were burned for your fathers, the former kings who preceded you, so people will burn spices for you and
lament, ‘
Alas, O master!’ For I Myself have spoken this word, declares the LORD.”
And I will
kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away
captives: and he shall
array himself with the land of Egypt, as a
shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in
peace.
I will
kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and
Nebuchadnezzar will burn those temples and take their gods as
captives. So he will
wrap himself with the land of Egypt as a
shepherd wraps himself in his garment, and he will depart from there unscathed.
And thou hast removed my soul far off from
peace: I
forgat prosperity.
My soul has been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
Anguish is coming! They will seek
peace, but find none.
Because, even because they have
seduced my people, saying,
Peace; and there was no
peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others
daubed it with untempered
morter:
Because they have led My people
astray, saying, ‘
Peace,’ when there is no
peace, and
whitewashing any
flimsy wall that is built,
To wit, the prophets of Israel which
prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of
peace for her, and there is no
peace, saith the Lord GOD.
those prophets of Israel who
prophesied to Jerusalem and saw a vision of
peace for her when there was no
peace, declares the Lord GOD.’
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
I will make with them a covenant of peace and rid the land of wild animals, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the forest.
Moreover I will make a covenant of
peace with them; it shall be an
everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for
evermore.
And I will make a covenant of
peace with them; it will be an
everlasting covenant. I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary among them
forever.
And when these days are
expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your
peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.
At the end of these days, from the eighth day on, the priests are to present your burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar. Then I will accept you, declares the Lord GOD.’”
And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for
peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for them, saith the Lord GOD.
And one sheep shall be given from each flock of two hundred from the well-watered pastures of Israel. These are for the grain offerings, burnt offerings, and
peace offerings, to make
atonement for the people, declares the Lord GOD.
And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all
solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the
peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for the house of Israel.
And it shall be the prince’s part to provide the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for the feasts, New Moons, and Sabbaths—for all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. He will provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and
peace offerings to make
atonement for the house of Israel.
And the prince shall enter by the way of the
porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his
peace offerings, and he shall worship at the
threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.
The prince is to enter from the outside through the
portico of the
gateway and stand by the
gatepost, while the priests sacrifice his burnt offerings and
peace offerings. He is to bow in worship at the
threshold of the gate and then depart, but the gate must not be shut until evening.
Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or
peace offerings
voluntarily unto the LORD, one shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his
peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate.
When the prince makes a
freewill offering to the LORD, whether a burnt offering or a
peace offering, the gate facing east must be opened for him. He is to offer his burnt offering or
peace offering just as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and the gate must be closed after he goes out.
Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth;
Peace be multiplied unto you.
King
Nebuchadnezzar, To the people of every nation and language who dwell in all the earth: May your prosperity be multiplied.
Then king
Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth;
Peace be multiplied unto you.
Then King
Darius wrote to the people of every nation and language throughout the land: “May your prosperity abound.
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to
prosper in his hand; and he shall
magnify himself in his heart, and by
peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause
deceit to
prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a time of
peace he will destroy many, and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands.
And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not:
peace be unto thee, be strong,
yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
“Do not be afraid, you who are highly precious,” he said. “Peace be with you! Be strong now; be very strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”
And in his estate shall stand up a
vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in
peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by
flatteries.
In his place a
despicable person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come in a time of
peace and seize the kingdom by
intrigue.
He shall enter
peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall
scatter among them the prey, and
spoil, and riches:
yea, and he shall
forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
In a time of
peace, he will
invade the richest provinces and do what his fathers and forefathers never did. He will
lavish plunder,
loot, and wealth on his followers, and he will plot against the strongholds—but only for a time.
Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Even though you offer Me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; for your
peace offerings of
fattened cattle I will have no regard.
All the men of thy
confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at
peace with thee have
deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.
All the men allied with you will drive you to the border; the men at
peace with you will
deceive and overpower you. Those who eat your bread will set a
trap for you without your awareness of it.
Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people
err, that
bite with their teeth, and cry,
Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
This is what the LORD says: “As for the prophets who lead My people
astray, who
proclaim peace while they
chew with their teeth, but declare war against one who puts nothing in their mouths:
And this man shall be the
peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall
tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven
shepherds, and eight principal men.
And He will be our
peace when Assyria invades our land and tramples our citadels. We will raise against it seven
shepherds, even eight leaders of men.
Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good
tidings, that publisheth
peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
Look to the mountains— the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims
peace!
Celebrate your feasts, O Judah;
fulfill your vows. For the wicked will never again march through you; they will be utterly cut off.
Hold thy
peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath
bid his guests.
Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD, for the Day of the LORD is near. Indeed, the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has consecrated His guests.
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will provide peace, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Yes, He will build the temple of the LORD; He will be clothed in
splendor and will sit on His throne and rule. And He will be a priest on His throne, and there will be
peaceful counsel between the two.’
For before these days there was no
hire for man, nor any
hire for beast; neither was there any
peace to him that went out or came in because of the
affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
For before those days neither man nor beast received wages, nor was there safety from the enemy for
anyone who came or went, for I had turned every man against his
neighbor.
These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and
peace in your gates:
These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another, render true and sound judgments in your gates,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and
gladness, and
cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and
peace.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the tenth months will become times of joy and
gladness,
cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore you are to love both truth and
peace.”
And I will cut off the
chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak
peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from river even to the ends of the earth.
And I will cut off the
chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow of war will be broken. Then He will
proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion will extend from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.
My covenant was with him of life and
peace; and I gave them to him for the fear
wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.
“My covenant with him was one of life and
peace, which I gave to him; it called for reverence, and he
revered Me and stood in
awe of My name.
The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in
peace and
equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
True instruction was in his mouth, and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your
pearls before
swine, lest they
trample them under their feet, and turn again and
rend you.
Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your
pearls before
swine. If you do, they may
trample them under their feet, and then turn and
tear you to pieces.
And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
If the home is worthy, let your peace rest on it; but if it is not, let your peace return to you.
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls.
Who, when he had found one
pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
When he found one very precious
pearl, he went away and sold all he had and bought it.
And the multitude
rebuked them, because they should hold their
peace: but they
cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
The crowd
admonished them to be silent, but they
cried out all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
But Jesus held his
peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I
adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to Him, “I charge You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.”
And Jesus
rebuked him, saying, Hold thy
peace, and come out of him.
But Jesus
rebuked the spirit. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!”
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
And He asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” But they were silent.
And he arose, and
rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Then Jesus got up and
rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.
And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
“Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has
healed you. Go in
peace and be free of your
affliction.”
But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
But they were silent, for on the way they had been
arguing about which of them was the greatest.
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness,
wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in
yourselves, and have
peace one with another.
Salt is good, but if the salt loses its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt among
yourselves, and be at
peace with one another.”
And many charged him that he should hold his
peace: but he
cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Many people
admonished him to be silent, but he
cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
But Jesus remained silent and made no reply. Again the high priest questioned Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
to
shine on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of
peace.”
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
“Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss Your servant in peace.
And Jesus
rebuked him, saying, Hold thy
peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and
hurt him not.
But Jesus
rebuked the
demon. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!” At this, the
demon threw the man down before them all and came out without
harming him.
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
And Jesus told the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
“Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has
healed you. Go in
peace.”
And into
whatsoever house ye enter, first say,
Peace be to this house.
Whatever house you enter, begin by saying, ‘Peace to this house.’
And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
When a strong man, fully armed, guards his house, his possessions are secure.
Suppose ye that I am come to give
peace on earth? I tell you,
Nay; but rather division:
Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.
And they held their
peace. And he took him, and
healed him, and let him go;
But they remained silent. Then Jesus took hold of the man,
healed him, and sent him on his way.
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an
ambassage, and desireth conditions of
peace.
And if he is unable, he will send a
delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of
peace.
And they which went before
rebuked him, that he should hold his
peace: but he
cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Those who led the way
admonished him to be silent, but he
cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
“I tell you,” He answered, “if they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.”
Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy
peace! but now they are
hid from thine eyes.
and said, “If only you had known on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes.
And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they
marvelled at his answer, and held their
peace.
And they were unable to
trap Him in His words before the people; and
amazed at His answer, they fell silent.
And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
peace. In the world ye shall have
tribulation: but be of good
cheer; I have overcome the world.
I have told you these things so that in Me you may have
peace. In the world you will have
tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!”
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
It was the first day of the week, and that very evening, while the disciples were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them. “Peace be with you!” He said to them.
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Again Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.”
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
Eight days later, His disciples were once again inside with the doors locked, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and
Galilee and Samaria, and were
edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Then the church throughout
Judea,
Galilee, and Samaria experienced a time of
peace. It grew in strength and numbers, living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
He has sent this message to the people of Israel,
proclaiming the gospel of
peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
When they heard these things, they held their
peace, and
glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted
repentance unto life.
When they heard this, their objections were put to rest, and they
glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles
repentance unto life.”
But he,
beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their
peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go
shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.
Peter motioned with his hand for silence, and he described how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. “Send word to James and to the brothers,” he said, and he left for another place.
And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and
Sidon: but they came with one
accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s
chamberlain their friend, desired
peace; because their country was
nourished by the king’s country.
Now Herod was in a
furious dispute with the people of Tyre and
Sidon, and they
convened before him. Having secured the support of Blastus, the king’s
chamberlain, they asked for
peace, because their region depended on the king’s country for food.
And after they had held their
peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren,
hearken unto me:
When they had finished speaking, James declared, “Brothers,
listen to me!
And after they had
tarried there a space, they were let go in
peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
After
spending some time there, they were sent off by the brothers in
peace to return to those who had sent them.
And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
The
jailer informed Paul: “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. Now you may go on your way in
peace.”
Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking; do not be silent.
And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to
accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
When Paul had been called in, Tertullus opened the
prosecution: “Because of you, we have enjoyed a lasting
peace, and your
foresight has brought improvements to this nation.
To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
But glory, honour, and
peace, to every man that worketh good, to the
Jew first, and also to the
Gentile:
but glory, honor, and
peace for
everyone who does good, first for the
Jew, then for the Greek.
And the way of peace have they not known:
and the way of peace they have not known.”
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
For to be
carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and
peace.
The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,
And how shall they
preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that
preach the gospel of
peace, and bring
glad tidings of good things!
And how can they
preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live
peaceably with all men.
If it is possible on your part, live at
peace with
everyone.
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for
peace, and things
wherewith one may
edify another.
So then, let us pursue what leads to
peace and to mutual
edification.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now the God of
peace be with you all.
Amen.
The God of
peace be with all of you.
Amen.
And the God of
peace shall
bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Amen.
The God of
peace will soon
crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under
bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to
peace.
But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace.
If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
And if a revelation comes to someone who is seated, the first speaker should stop.
