And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude
throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.”
And when the woman saw that she was not
hid, she came
trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the
people for what cause she had touched him and how she was
healed immediately.
Then the woman, seeing that she could not escape notice, came
trembling and fell down before Him. In the presence of all the
people, she explained why she had touched Him and how she had immediately been
healed.
And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and
healing every where.
So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and
healing people everywhere.
And the
people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and
healed them that had need of
healing.
But the crowds found out and followed Him. He
welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and He
healed those who needed
healing.
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five
loaves and two fishes; except we should go and
buy meat for all this
people.
But Jesus told them, “You give them something to eat.” “We have only five
loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered, “unless we go and
buy food for all these
people.”
Then he took the five
loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and
brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Taking the five
loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the
people.
And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
One day as Jesus was praying in private and the disciples were with Him, He questioned them: “Who do the crowds say I am?”
And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
The next day, when they came down from the mountain, Jesus was met by a large crowd.
And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
But the
people there refused to
welcome Him, because He was heading for Jerusalem.
And he was casting out a devil, and it was
dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the
dumb spake; and the
people wondered.
One day Jesus was driving out a
demon that was
mute. And when the
demon was gone, the man who had been
mute spoke. The crowds were
amazed,
And when the
people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of
Jonas the prophet.
As the crowds were increasing, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of
Jonah.
In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of
people,
insomuch that they
trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all,
Beware ye of the
leaven of the
Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were
trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “
Beware of the
leaven of the
Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
And he said also to the
people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west,
straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
Then Jesus said to the crowds, “As soon as you see a cloud rising in the west, you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and that is what happens.
And the ruler of the
synagogue answered with
indignation, because that Jesus had
healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the
people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be
healed, and not on the sabbath day.
But the
synagogue leader was
indignant that Jesus had
healed on the Sabbath. “There are six days for work,” he told the crowd. “So come and be
healed on those days and not on the Sabbath.”
And when he had said these things, all his
adversaries were
ashamed: and all the
people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
“Lord,” someone asked Him, “will only a few people be saved?” Jesus answered,
And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
People will come from east and west and north and south, and will
recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to
morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
But Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I will keep driving out demons and
healing people today and
tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My
goal.’
I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the
stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
I know what I will do, so that after my removal from management,
people will
welcome me into their homes.’
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
People will tell you, ‘Look, there He is!’ or ‘Look, here He is!’ Do not go out or
chase after them.
They did eat, they
drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day
Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they
drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
It was the same in the days of Lot:
People were eating and drinking,
buying and selling, planting and building.
I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed: one will be taken and the other left.
And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they
rebuked them.
Now
people were even bringing their
babies to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. And when the disciples saw this, they
rebuked those who brought them.
And immediately he received his sight, and followed him,
glorifying God: and all the
people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus,
glorifying God. And all the
people who saw this gave praise to God.
And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was
nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
While the
people were
listening to this, Jesus proceeded to tell them a parable, because He was near Jerusalem and they thought the kingdom of God would appear
imminently.
And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
As He
rode along, the
people spread their cloaks on the road.
And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the
scribes and the chief of the
people sought to destroy him,
Jesus was teaching at the temple every day, but the chief priests,
scribes, and leaders of the
people were intent on killing Him.
And could not find what they might do: for all the
people were very
attentive to hear him.
Yet they could not find a way to do so, because all the people hung on His words.
And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the
people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the
scribes came upon him with the elders,
One day as Jesus was teaching the
people in the temple courts and
proclaiming the gospel, the chief priests and
scribes, together with the elders, came up to Him.
But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the
people will stone us, for they are
convinced that John was a prophet.”
Then began he to speak to the
people this parable; A certain man planted a
vineyard, and let it forth to
husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
Then He proceeded to tell the
people this parable: “A man planted a
vineyard, rented it out to some tenants, and went away for a long time.
He shall come and destroy these
husbandmen, and shall give the
vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God
forbid.
He will come and kill those tenants, and will give the
vineyard to others.” And when the
people heard this, they said, “May such a thing never happen!”
And the chief priests and the
scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the
people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
When the
scribes and chief priests realized that Jesus had spoken this parable against them, they sought to arrest Him that very hour. But they were afraid of the
people.
And they could not take hold of his words before the
people: and they
marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
And they were unable to
trap Him in His words before the
people; and
amazed at His answer, they fell silent.
Then in the
audience of all the
people he said unto his disciples,
In the hearing of all the people, Jesus said to His disciples,
But
woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give
suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this
people.
How
miserable those days will be for
pregnant and
nursing mothers! For there will be great distress upon the land and wrath against this
people.
And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
And early in the morning all the people would come to hear Him at the temple.
And the chief priests and
scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the
people.
and the chief priests and
scribes were looking for a way to put Jesus to death; for they feared the
people.
And as soon as it was day, the elders of the
people and the chief priests and the
scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
At
daybreak the council of the elders of the
people, both the chief priests and
scribes, met together. They led Jesus into their
Sanhedrin and said,
Then said
Pilate to the chief priests and to the
people, I find no fault in this man.
Then
Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the
people, teaching throughout all
Jewry, beginning from
Galilee to this place.
But they kept
insisting, “He stirs up the
people all over
Judea with His teaching. He began in
Galilee and has come all the way here.”
And
Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the
people,
Then
Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the
people,
Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the
people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things
whereof ye
accuse him:
and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was
inciting the
people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.
And there followed him a great company of
people, and of women, which also
bewailed and
lamented him.
A great number of
people followed Him, including women who kept
mourning and
wailing for Him.
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave
suck.
Look, the days are coming when
people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never
nursed!’
And the
people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them
derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
The
people stood watching, and the rulers
sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”
And all the
people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done,
smote their breasts, and returned.
And when all the
people who had gathered for this
spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of
Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the
people:
“What things?” He asked. “The events involving Jesus of
Nazareth,” they answered. “This man was a prophet, powerful in speech and action before God and all the
people.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the
passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
While He was in Jerusalem at the
Passover Feast, many
people saw the signs He was doing and believed in His name.
Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and
testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Truly, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we
testify to what we have seen, and yet you
people do not accept our testimony.
And John also was
baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were
baptized.
The woman then left her
waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
Then the woman left her water
jar, went back into the town, and said to the
people,
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”
When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we
buy bread, that these may eat?
When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where can we
buy bread for these
people to eat?”
And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
“Have the
people sit down,” Jesus said. Now there was
plenty of grass in that place, so the men sat down, about five thousand of them.
Then those men, when they had seen the
miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
When the people saw the sign that Jesus had performed, they began to say, “Truly this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
The day following, when the
people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one
whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;
The next day, the crowd that had remained on the other side of the sea realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded it with His disciples, but they had gone away alone.
(
Howbeit there came other boats from
Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given
thanks:)
However, some boats from
Tiberias landed near the place where the
people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given
thanks.
When the
people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to
Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to
Capernaum to look for Him.
And there was much
murmuring among the
people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said,
Nay; but he deceiveth the
people.
Many in the crowds were
whispering about Him. Some said, “He is a good man.” But others replied, “No, He deceives the
people.”
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
“You have a
demon,” the crowd replied. “Who is trying to kill You?”
Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
Then some of the people of Jerusalem began to say, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
Many in the crowd, however, believed in Him and said, “When the Christ comes, will He perform more signs than this man?”
The
Pharisees heard that the
people murmured such things concerning him; and the
Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
When the
Pharisees heard the crowd
whispering these things about Jesus, they and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
On hearing these words, some of the people said, “This is truly the Prophet.”
So there was a division among the people because of him.
So there was division in the crowd because of Jesus.
But this
people who knoweth not the law are
cursed.
But this crowd that does not know the law, they are under a
curse.”
And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
Early in the morning He went back into the temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Once again, Jesus spoke to the
people and said, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
I knew that You always hear Me, but I say this for the benefit of the people standing here, so they may believe that You sent Me.”
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
You do not
realize that it is better for you that one man die for the
people than that the whole nation perish.”
And the Jews’
passover was
nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the
passover, to
purify themselves.
Now the Jewish
Passover was near, and many
people went up from the country to Jerusalem to
purify themselves before the
Passover.
Much
people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see
Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews learned that Jesus was there. And they came not only because of Him, but also to see
Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
The next day the great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.
The
people therefore that was with him when he called
Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
Meanwhile, many
people continued to
testify that they had been with Jesus when He called
Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead.
For this cause the
people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this
miracle.
That is also why the crowd went out to meet Him, because they heard that He had performed this sign.
The
people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it
thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
The crowd standing there heard it and said that it had
thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to Him.
The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
The crowd replied, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain
forever. So how can You say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him.
Now
Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the
people.
Caiaphas was the one who had
advised the Jews that it would be better if one man died for the
people.
Pilate answered, Am I a
Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
“Am I a
Jew?”
Pilate replied. “Your own
people and chief priests handed You over to me. What have You done?”
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all
people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
Now when they heard this, they were
pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
And as the
lame man which was
healed held Peter and John, all the
people ran together unto them in the
porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
While the man
clung to Peter and John, all the
people were
astonished and ran to them in the walkway called Solomon’s
Colonnade.
And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the
people, Ye men of Israel, why
marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or
holiness we had made this man to walk?
And when Peter saw this, he addressed the
people: “Men of Israel, why are you surprised by this? Why do you
stare at us as if by our own power or
godliness we had made this man walk?
And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Everyone who does not
listen to Him will be completely cut off from among his
people.’
And as they spake unto the
people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the
Sadducees, came upon them,
While Peter and John were speaking to the
people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the
Sadducees came up to them,
Being
grieved that they taught the
people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
greatly disturbed that they were teaching the
people and
proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people!
Be it known unto you all, and to all the
people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom ye
crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him
doth this man stand here before you whole.
then let this be known to all of you and to all the
people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom you
crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you
healed.
But that it spread no further among the
people, let us straitly
threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
But to keep this message from spreading any further among the
people, we must
warn them not to speak to
anyone in this name.”
So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might
punish them, because of the
people: for all men
glorified God for that which was done.
After further threats they let them go. They could not find a way to
punish them, because all the
people were
glorifying God for what had happened.
And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
On their release, Peter and John returned to their own people and reported everything that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen
rage, and the
people imagine vain things?
You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David: ‘Why do the nations
rage and the
peoples plot in vain?
For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast
anointed, both Herod, and Pontius
Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the
people of Israel, were gathered together,
In fact, this is the very city where Herod and Pontius
Pilate conspired with the Gentiles and the
people of Israel against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You
anointed.
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the
people; (and they were all with one
accord in Solomon’s
porch.
The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the
people, and with one
accord the believers gathered together in Solomon’s
Colonnade.
