The LORD hath mingled a
perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to
err in every work thereof, as a
drunken man staggereth in his
vomit.
The LORD has
poured into her a spirit of confusion. Egypt has been led
astray in all she does, as a
drunkard staggers through his own
vomit.
LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they
poured out a prayer when thy
chastening was upon them.
O LORD, they sought You in their distress; when You disciplined them, they poured out a quiet prayer.
For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
For the LORD has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep. He has shut your eyes, O prophets; He has covered your heads, O seers.
Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
until the Spirit is
poured out upon us from on high. Then the desert will be an
orchard, and the
orchard will seem like a forest.
Therefore he hath
poured upon him the
fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
So He
poured out on them His
furious anger and the fierceness of battle. It
enveloped them in flames, but they did not understand; it consumed them, but they did not take it to heart.
For I will
pour water upon him that is
thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will
pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
For I will
pour water on the
thirsty land, and currents on the dry ground. I will
pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.
Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the
skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.
Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the
skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open up that salvation may
sprout and righteousness spring up with it; I, the LORD, have created it.
They
pour out their bags of gold and
weigh out silver on scales; they
hire a
goldsmith to fashion it into a god, so they can bow down and worship.
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the
spoil with the strong; because he hath
poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made
intercession for the transgressors.
Therefore I will
allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoils with the strong, because He has
poured out His life unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors. Yet He bore the sin of many and made
intercession for the transgressors.
Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
Your portion is among the smooth stones of the valley; indeed, they are your lot. Even to them you have poured out a drink offering and offered a grain offering. Should I relent because of these?
And I will
tread down the people in mine anger, and make them
drunk in my
fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
I
trampled the nations in My anger; in My wrath I made them
drunk and
poured out their blood on the ground.”
Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the LORD said to me, “
Disaster from the north will be
poured out on all who live in the land.
As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and
spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.
As a well gushes its water, so she pours out her evil. Violence and destruction resound in her; sickness and wounds are ever before Me.
Therefore I am full of the
fury of the LORD; I am
weary with holding in: I will
pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
But I am full of the LORD’s wrath; I am
tired of holding it back. “
Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the young men gathered together. For both husband and wife will be captured, the old and the very old alike.
The children gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women
knead their
dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to
pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may
provoke me to anger.
The sons gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women
knead the
dough to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven; they
pour out drink offerings to other gods to
provoke Me to anger.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my
fury shall be
poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be
quenched.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, My anger and My
fury will be
poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the field and the produce of the land, and it will burn and not be
extinguished.
Pour out thy
fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and
devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his
habitation desolate.
Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge You, and on the families that do not call on Your name. For they have
devoured Jacob; they have consumed him and finished him off; they have
devastated his homeland.
And the people to whom they
prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to
bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will
pour their wickedness upon them.
And the people to whom they
prophesy will be thrown into the streets of Jerusalem because of famine and sword. There will be no one to
bury them or their wives, their sons or their daughters. I will
pour out their own evil upon them.
Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and
pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be
bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.
Therefore, hand their children over to famine; pour out the power of the sword upon them. Let their wives become childless and widowed; let their husbands be slain by disease, their young men struck down by the sword in battle.
And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be
defiled as the place of
Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have
poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be
defiled like that place, Topheth—all the houses on whose rooftops they burned incense to all the host of heaven and
poured out drink offerings to other gods.”
And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto
Baal, and
poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to
provoke me to anger.
And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city will come in, set it on fire, and burn it, along with the houses of those who
provoked Me to anger by burning incense to
Baal on their rooftops and by
pouring out drink offerings to other gods.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my
fury hath been
poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my
fury be
poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an
execration, and an
astonishment, and a
curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Just as My anger and wrath were
poured out on the residents of Jerusalem, so will My wrath be
poured out on you if you go to Egypt. You will become an object of
cursing and
horror, of
vilification and disgrace, and you will never see this place again.’
Wherefore my
fury and mine anger was
poured forth, and was
kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and
desolate, as at this day.
Therefore My wrath and anger
poured out and burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, so that they have become the
desolate ruin they are
today.
But we will certainly do
whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to
pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we
plenty of
victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
Instead, we will do everything we
vowed to do: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and offer drink offerings to her, just as we, our fathers, our kings, and our officials did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had
plenty of food and good things, and we saw no
disaster.
But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
But from the time we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been perishing by sword and famine.”
And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
“Moreover,” said the women, “when we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven and
poured out drink offerings to her, was it without our husbands’ knowledge that we made
sacrificial cakes in her image and
poured out drink offerings to her?”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have
vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to
pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely
accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: As for you and your wives, you have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands your words: ‘We will surely perform our vows that we have made to burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and to
pour out drink offerings to her.’ Go
ahead, then, do what you have promised! Keep your vows!
Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his
lees, and hath not been
emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his
scent is not changed.
Moab has been at ease from youth, settled like wine on its
dregs; he has not been
poured from vessel to vessel or gone into exile. So his
flavor has remained the same, and his
aroma is unchanged.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to
wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
Therefore behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will send to him wanderers, who will
pour him out. They will empty his vessels and
shatter his jars.
He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an
adversary, and
slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of
Zion: he
poured out his
fury like fire.
He has bent His bow like an enemy; His right hand is positioned. Like a
foe He has killed all who were pleasing to the eye; He has
poured out His wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of
Zion.
Mine eyes do fail with tears, my
bowels are troubled, my liver is
poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings
swoon in the streets of the city.
My eyes fail from
weeping; I am
churning within. My heart is
poured out in grief over the destruction of the daughter of my people, because children and infants
faint in the streets of the city.
They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they
swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was
poured out into their mothers’
bosom.
They cry out to their mothers: “Where is the grain and wine?” as they
faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, as their lives
fade away in the arms of their mothers.
Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches
pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that
faint for hunger in the top of every street.
Arise, cry out in the night from the first watch of the night.
Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children who are
fainting from hunger on the corner of every street.
How is the gold become
dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are
poured out in the top of every street.
How the gold has become
tarnished, the pure gold has become dull! The
gems of the temple lie scattered on every street corner.
The LORD hath accomplished his
fury; he hath
poured out his fierce anger, and hath
kindled a fire in
Zion, and it hath
devoured the foundations thereof.
The LORD has exhausted His wrath; He has
poured out His fierce anger; He has
kindled a fire in
Zion, and it has consumed her foundations.
Thou also, son of man, take thee a
tile, and lay it before thee, and
pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:
“Now you, son of man, take a brick, place it before you, and draw on it the city of Jerusalem.
Now will I shortly
pour out my
fury upon thee, and
accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will
recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Very soon I will
pour out My wrath upon you and
vent My anger against you; I will judge you according to your ways and repay you for all your abominations.
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of
creeping things, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel,
pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
So I went in and looked, and engraved all around the wall was every kind of
crawling creature and
detestable beast, along with all the idols of the house of Israel.
And it came to pass, while they were
slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and
cried, and said,
Ah Lord GOD!
wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy
pouring out of thy
fury upon Jerusalem?
While they were killing, I was left alone. And I fell facedown and
cried out, “Oh, Lord GOD, when You
pour out Your wrath on Jerusalem, will You destroy the entire
remnant of Israel?”
Or if I send a
pestilence into that land, and
pour out my
fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
Or if I send a plague into that land and
pour out My wrath upon it through
bloodshed, cutting off from it both man and beast,
But thou
didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the
harlot because of thy
renown, and
pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
But because of your fame, you trusted in your beauty and played the
harlot. You
lavished your favors on
everyone who passed by, and your beauty was theirs for the asking.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy
filthiness was
poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou
didst give unto them;
This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you
poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your
promiscuity with your lovers and with all your
detestable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,
But they rebelled against me, and would not
hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they
forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will
pour out my
fury upon them to
accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
But they rebelled against Me and refused to
listen. None of them cast away the abominations before their eyes, and they did not
forsake the idols of Egypt. So I resolved to
pour out My wrath upon them and
vent My anger against them in the land of Egypt.
But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they
despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly
polluted: then I said, I would
pour out my
fury upon them in the wilderness, to
consume them.
Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not follow My statutes and they rejected My ordinances—though the man who does these things will live by them—and they utterly
profaned My Sabbaths. Then I resolved to
pour out My wrath upon them and put an end to them in the wilderness.
Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they
polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would
pour out my
fury upon them, to
accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
But the children rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes or carefully observe My ordinances—though the man who does these things will live by them—and they
profaned My Sabbaths. So I resolved to
pour out My wrath upon them and
vent My anger against them in the wilderness.
For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the
provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and
poured out there their drink offerings.
When I brought them into the land that I
swore to give them and they saw any high hill or
leafy tree, there they offered their sacrifices, presented offerings that
provoked Me, sent up their
fragrant incense, and
poured out their drink offerings.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with
fury poured out, will I rule over you:
As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, with a strong hand, an outstretched arm, and outpoured wrath I will rule over you.
And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with
fury poured out.
With a strong hand, an outstretched arm, and outpoured wrath I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands to which you have been scattered.
And I will
pour out mine
indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of
brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
I will
pour out My anger upon you; I will
breathe the fire of My
fury against you; I will hand you over to
brutal men, skilled in destruction.
As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have
poured out my
fury upon you.
As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted within the city. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out My wrath upon you.’”
Therefore have I
poured out mine
indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I
recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
So I have
poured out My
indignation upon them and consumed them with the fire of My
fury. I have brought their ways down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they
bruised the breasts of her
virginity, and
poured their
whoredom upon her.
And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men
pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans
pourtrayed with
vermilion,
And utter a parable unto the
rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also
pour water into it:
Now speak a parable to this
rebellious house and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Put the pot on the fire; put it on and
pour in the water.
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
For the blood she shed is still within her; she poured it out on the bare rock; she did not pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.
And I will
pour my
fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.
Wherefore I
poured my
fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols
wherewith they had
polluted it:
So I
poured out My wrath upon them because of the blood they had shed on the land, and because they had
defiled it with their idols.
And I will
plead against him with
pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and
brimstone.
I will
execute judgment upon him with plague and
bloodshed. I will
pour out torrents of rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
And I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”
Yea, all Israel have
transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the
curse is
poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have
sinned against him.
All Israel has
transgressed Your law and turned away, refusing to obey Your voice; so the oath and the
curse written in the Law of Moses the servant of God has been
poured out on us, because we have
sinned against You.
And he shall
confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the
oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it
desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be
poured upon the
desolate.
And he will
confirm a covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the
abomination that causes
desolation, until the decreed destruction is
poured out upon him.”
The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
The princes of Judah are like those who move boundary stones; I will
pour out My
fury upon them like water.
They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be
polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
They will not
pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be
defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the house of the LORD.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will
pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And afterward, I will
pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Even on My menservants and maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and
Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and
poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
He who made the
Pleiades and
Orion, who turns darkness into
dawn and darkens day into night, who
summons the waters of the sea and
pours them over the face of the earth— the LORD is His name—
It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his
troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and
poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.
He builds His upper rooms in the heavens and founds His
vault upon the earth. He
summons the waters of the sea and
pours them over the face of the earth. The LORD is His name.
And the mountains shall be
molten under him, and the valleys shall be
cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are
poured down a steep place.
The mountains will
melt beneath Him, and the valleys will split apart, like wax before the fire, like water
rushing down a slope.
Therefore I will make Samaria as an
heap of the field, and as plantings of a
vineyard: and I will
pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.
Therefore I will make Samaria a
heap of
rubble in the open field, a planting area for a
vineyard. I will
pour her stones into the valley and
expose her foundations.
Who can stand before his
indignation? and who can
abide in the fierceness of his anger? his
fury is
poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy
bottle to him, and makest him
drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!
Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors,
pouring it from the wineskin until they are
drunk, in order to
gaze at their nakedness!
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have
sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be
poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
I will bring such distress on mankind that they will walk like the blind, because they have
sinned against the LORD. Their blood will be
poured out like dust and their flesh like dung.
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may
assemble the kingdoms, to
pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Therefore wait for Me,” declares the LORD, “until the day I rise to
testify. For My decision is to gather nations, to
assemble kingdoms, to
pour out upon them My
indignation— all My burning anger. For all the earth will be consumed by the fire of My jealousy.
And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
And I questioned him further, “What are the two olive branches beside the two gold pipes from which the golden oil pours?”
And I will
pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall
mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his
firstborn.
Then I will
pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They will
mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and
grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a
firstborn son.
Bring ye all the
tithes into the
storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now
herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and
pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Bring the full
tithe into the
storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the windows of heaven and
pour out for you blessing without measure.
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Neither do men
pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will
burst, the wine will
spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, they
pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
There came unto him a woman having an
alabaster box of very precious
ointment, and
poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
For in that she hath
poured this
ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
By
pouring this
perfume on Me, she has prepared My body for burial.
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
This is My blood of the covenant, which is
poured out for many for the
forgiveness of sins.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine
doth burst the bottles, and the wine is
spilled, and the bottles will be
marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
And no one
pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will
burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, new wine is
poured into new wineskins.”
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will
burst the bottles, and be
spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
And no one
pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will
burst the skins, the wine will
spill, and the wineskins will be ruined.
But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and
shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your
bosom. For with the same measure that ye
mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together, and running over will be
poured into your
lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
He went to him and
bandaged his wounds,
pouring on oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Likewise also the cup after
supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
In the same way, after
supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is
poured out for you.
And when he had made a
scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and
poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
So He made a
whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle. He
poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
After that, He
poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the
towel that was around Him.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will
pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
‘In the last days, God says, I will
pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will
pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall
prophesy:
Even on My menservants and maidservants I will
pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will
prophesy.
Therefore being by the right hand of God
exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Exalted, then, to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has
poured out what you now see and hear.
And they of the
circumcision which believed were
astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was
poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
All the
circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were
astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been
poured out even on the Gentiles.
And hope maketh not
ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
And hope does not
disappoint us, because God has
poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and
rejoice with you all.
But even if I am being
poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am
glad and
rejoice with all of you.
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
This is the Spirit He
poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our
Savior,
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and
swallowed up the flood which the
dragon cast out of his mouth.
But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth to
swallow up the river that had
poured from the
dragon’s mouth.
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is
poured out without mixture into the cup of his
indignation; and he shall be
tormented with fire and
brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
he too will drink the wine of God’s anger,
poured undiluted into the cup of His wrath. And he will be
tormented in fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.
