confirm My promise to
restore you to this place.

whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away
captive.

afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in
rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
As for you, O Jacob My servant, do not be afraid, declares the LORD, and do not be dismayed, O Israel. For I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their captivity! Jacob will return to quiet and ease, with no one to make him afraid.
For I will
restore health unto thee, and I will
heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is
Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
But I will
restore your health and
heal your wounds, declares the LORD, because they call you an outcast,
Zion, for whom no one cares.”
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own
heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and have
compassion on his dwellings. And the city will be rebuilt on her own ruins, and the palace will stand in its rightful place.

bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast
chastised me, and I was

moaning: ‘You disciplined me severely, like an untrained
calf.
Restore me, that I may return, for You are the LORD my God.

bless thee, O
habitation of justice, and mountain of

restore them from captivity, they will once again speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities: ‘May the LORD
bless you, O righteous dwelling place, O holy mountain.’
Men shall
buy fields for money, and
subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
Fields will be purchased with silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed in the land of Benjamin, in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah—the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev—because I will restore them from captivity, declares the LORD.”
And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
I will restore Judah and Israel from captivity and will rebuild them as in former times.
The voice of joy, and the voice of
gladness, the voice of the
bridegroom, and the voice of the
bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
the sounds of joy and
gladness, the voices of the
bride and
bridegroom, and the voices of those bringing
thank offerings into the house of the LORD, saying: ‘Give
thanks to the LORD of Hosts, for the LORD is good; His loving devotion endures
forever.’ For I will
restore the land from captivity as in former times, says the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is
desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an
habitation of
shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In this
desolate place, without man or beast, and in all its cities, there will once more be pastures for
shepherds to
rest their flocks.
Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
then I would also
reject the descendants of Jacob and of My servant David, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will
restore them from captivity and will have
compassion on them.”

Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:

Baruch, “I am
restricted; I cannot enter the house of the LORD;
And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-
nebo, Sarsechim,
Rab-saris, Nergal-sharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.
Then all the officials of the king of Babylon entered and sat in the Middle Gate: Nergal-sharezer of Samgar,
Nebo-sarsekim the Rabsaris, Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag, and all the
rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
Then Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away
captive into Babylon the
remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the
rest of the people that remained.
Then Nebuzaradan captain of the guard carried away to Babylon the
remnant of the people who had remained in the city, along with the deserters who had defected to him.
And I will
shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.
And I will show you
compassion, and he will have
compassion on you and
restore you to your own land.’
Thou
didst say,
Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I
fainted in my
sighing, and I find no
rest.
You have said, ‘
Woe is me because the LORD has added sorrow to my pain! I am worn out with
groaning and have found no
rest.’”
But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from
afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in
rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
But you, O Jacob My servant, do not be afraid, and do not be dismayed, O Israel. For I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their captivity! Jacob will return to quiet and ease, with no one to make him afraid.
O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be
ere thou be quiet? put up
thyself into thy
scabbard,
rest, and be still.
‘
Alas, O sword of the LORD, how long until you
rest? Return to your
sheath; cease and be still!’
How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
How can it rest when the LORD has commanded it? He has appointed it against Ashkelon and the shore of its coastland.”

Elam, saith the LORD.

restore Elam from captivity,” declares the LORD.
My people hath been lost sheep: their
shepherds have caused them to go
astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their
restingplace.
My people are lost sheep; their
shepherds have led them
astray, causing them to
roam the mountains. They have
wandered from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their
resting place.
Their
Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly
plead their cause, that he may give
rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
Their
Redeemer is strong; the LORD of Hosts is His name. He will
fervently plead their case so that He may bring
rest to the earth, but
turmoil to those who live in Babylon.
Then Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away
captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the
rest of the multitude.
Then Nebuzaradan captain of the guard carried into exile some of the poorest people and those who remained in the city, along with the deserters who had defected to the king of Babylon and the
rest of the
craftsmen.
And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
So
Jehoiachin changed out of his prison clothes, and he
dined regularly at the king’s table for the
rest of his life.
And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
And the king of Babylon provided
Jehoiachin a daily portion for the
rest of his life, until the day of his death.
Judah is gone into captivity because of
affliction, and because of great
servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no
rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
Judah has gone into exile under
affliction and harsh slavery; she dwells among the nations but finds no place to
rest. All her pursuers have overtaken her in the midst of her distress.
Their heart
cried unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of
Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give
thyself no
rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.
The hearts of the people cry out to the Lord. O wall of the Daughter of
Zion, let your tears run down like a river day and night. Give
yourself no relief, and your eyes no
rest.
Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.
We are closely pursued; we are
weary and find no
rest.
Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
Restore us to
Yourself, O LORD, so we may return; renew our days as of old,
Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my
fury to
rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my
fury in them.
And when My anger is spent and I have
vented My wrath against them, I will be
appeased. And when I have spent My wrath on them, they will know that I, the LORD, in My zeal have spoken.
Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the
hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
You did not go up to the gaps or restore the wall around the house of Israel so that it would stand in the battle on the Day of the LORD.
So will I make my
fury toward thee to
rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more
angry.
So I will lay to
rest My wrath against you, and My jealousy will turn away from you. Then I will be calm and no longer
angry.
When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of
Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy
captives in the midst of them:
But I will
restore Sodom and her daughters from captivity, as well as Samaria and her daughters. And I will
restore you along with them.
And hath not
oppressed any, but hath
restored to the
debtor his
pledge, hath
spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the
hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;
He does not
oppress another, but
restores the
pledge to the
debtor. He does not commit
robbery, but gives his bread to the
hungry and covers the naked with clothing.
He oppresses the poor and
needy; he commits
robbery and does not
restore a
pledge. He lifts his eyes to idols; he commits abominations.
I will also
smite mine hands together, and I will cause my
fury to
rest: I the LORD have said it.
I too will strike My hands together, and I will satisfy My wrath.’ I, the LORD, have spoken.”
I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.
A ruin, a ruin, I will make it a ruin! And it will not be restored until the arrival of Him to whom it belongs, to whom I have assigned the right of judgment.’
And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the
Ammonites a couchingplace for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and
Ammon a
resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’
And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their
habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom.
I will restore Egypt from captivity and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin. There they will be a lowly kingdom.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a
mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I
restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused
Lebanon to
mourn for him, and all the trees of the field
fainted for him.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘On the day it was brought down to
Sheol, I caused
mourning. I covered the deep because of it; I held back its rivers; its abundant waters were
restrained. I made
Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field
fainted because of it.
They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them
uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.
Among the slain they prepare a
resting place for
Elam with all her hordes, with her graves all around her. All of them are
uncircumcised, slain by the sword, although their terror was once spread in the land of the living. They bear their disgrace with those who descend to the Pit. They are placed among the slain.
And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the
uncircumcised, which are gone down to
hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their
iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
They do not lie down with the fallen warriors of old, who went down to
Sheol with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads, whose shields
rested on their bones, although the terror of the mighty was once in the land of the living.
For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the
uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
For I will spread My terror in the land of the living, so that Pharaoh and all his multitude will be laid to
rest among the
uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword, declares the Lord GOD.”
If the wicked
restore the
pledge, give again that he had
robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without
committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
if he
restores a
pledge, makes
restitution for what he has
stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without practicing iniquity—then he will surely live; he will not die.
Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must
tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have
drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also
trample the
rest of the pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink the clear waters? Must you also
muddy the
rest with your feet?
Therefore
prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you
desolate, and
swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an
infamy of the people:
therefore
prophesy and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Because they have made you
desolate and have
trampled you on every side, so that you became a possession of the
rest of the nations and were taken up in
slander by the lips of their talkers,
Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the
desolate wastes, and to the cities that are
forsaken, which became a prey and
derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the
desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have become a
spoil and a
mockery to the
rest of the nations around you.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all
Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with
despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Surely in My burning zeal I have spoken against the
rest of the nations, and against all
Edom, who took My land as their own possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, so that its pastureland became
plunder.
And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will come against a
tranquil people who dwell securely, all of them living without walls or bars or gates—
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be
jealous for my holy name;
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Now I will
restore Jacob from captivity and will have
compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be
jealous for My holy name.
And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every
oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your
dough, that he may cause the blessing to
rest in thine house.
The best of all the firstfruits and of every contribution from all your offerings will belong to the priests. You are to give your first
batch of
dough to the priest, so that a blessing may
rest upon your homes.
In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and my princes shall no more
oppress my people; and the
rest of the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
This land will be his possession in Israel. And My princes will no longer
oppress My people, but will give the
rest of the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the west side, Benjamin shall have a portion.
As for the rest of the tribes: Benjamin will have one portion extending from the east side to the west side.
That they would desire
mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the
rest of the wise men of Babylon.
urging them to
plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this
mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be killed with the
rest of the wise men of Babylon.
I
Nebuchadnezzar was at
rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
I,
Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and flourishing in my palace.
And whereas they commanded to leave the
stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
As for the command to leave the
stump of the tree with its roots, your kingdom will be
restored to you as soon as you acknowledge that Heaven rules.
And at the end of the days I
Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an
everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
But at the end of those days I,
Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my
sanity was
restored to me. Then I praised the Most High, and I honored and
glorified Him who lives
forever: “For His dominion is an
everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
All the peoples of the earth are counted as nothing, and He does as He pleases with the army of heaven and the peoples of the earth. There is no one who can restrain His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’”
At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
At the same time my
sanity was
restored, my honor and
splendor returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was
restored to my throne, and
surpassing greatness was added to me.
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was removed, but they were granted an extension of life for a season and a time.
And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be
cleansed.
He said to me, “It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be properly restored.”
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to
restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and
threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in
troublous times.
Know and understand this: From the
issuance of the decree to
restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until the
Messiah, the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with streets and a
trench, but in times of distress.
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
But as for you, go on your way until the end. You will rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
Also for you, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore My people from captivity.
And I will
restore to you the years that the
locust hath eaten, the
cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the
palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
“
Yes, in those days and at that time, when I
restore Judah and Jerusalem from captivity,
As if a man did
flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and
leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent
bit him.
It will be like a man who flees from a lion, only to
encounter a bear, or who enters his house and
rests his hand against the wall, only to be
bitten by a
snake.
I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said,
Smite the
lintel of the door, that the posts may
shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will
slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not
flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.
I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and He said: “Strike the tops of the pillars so that the thresholds
shake.
Topple them on the heads of all the people, and I will kill the
rest with the sword. None of those who
flee will get away; none of the fugitives will escape.
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
“In that day I will restore the fallen tent of David. I will repair its gaps, restore its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old,
And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
I will restore My people Israel from captivity; they will rebuild and inhabit the ruined cities. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your
rest: because it is
polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a
sore destruction.
Arise and depart, for this is not your place of
rest, because its
defilement brings destruction— a
grievous destruction!
And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of
Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
And you, O
watchtower of the flock, O
stronghold of the Daughter of
Zion— the former dominion will be
restored to you; sovereignty will come to the Daughter of Jerusalem.”
Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the
remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
Therefore Israel will be abandoned until she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of His brothers will return to the children of Israel.
For the LORD will
restore the
splendor of Jacob like the
splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and ruined the branches of their vine.
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as
hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
and wealth indeed betrays him. He is an
arrogant man never at
rest. He enlarges his
appetite like
Sheol, and like Death, he is never satisfied. He gathers all the nations to himself and collects all the peoples as his own.
When I heard, my
belly trembled; my lips
quivered at the voice:
rottenness entered into my bones, and I
trembled in myself, that I might
rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will
invade them with his troops.
I heard and
trembled within; my lips
quivered at the sound. Decay entered my bones; I
trembled where I stood. Yet I must wait patiently for the day of distress to come upon the people who
invade us.
And the coast shall be for the
remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed
thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
The coast will belong to the
remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their God will attend to them and
restore their
captives.
This is the
rejoicing city that dwelt
carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a
desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and
wag his hand.
This carefree city that dwells securely, that thinks to herself: “I am it, and there is none besides me,” what a ruin she has become, a
resting place for beasts.
Everyone who passes by her hisses and shakes his
fist.
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
For then I will restore pure lips to the peoples, that all may call upon the name of the LORD and serve Him shoulder to shoulder.
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will
rejoice over thee with joy; he will
rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will
rejoice over you with
gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will
rejoice over you with singing.”
At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
At that time I will bring you in;
yes, at that time I will gather you. For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I
restore your
captives before your very eyes,” says the LORD.
And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the
myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and
fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at
rest.
And the riders answered the angel of the LORD who was standing among the
myrtle trees, “We have
patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth is at
rest and
tranquil.”
Then
cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
Then the LORD summoned me and said, “Behold, those going to the land of the north have given rest to My Spirit in the land of the north.”
The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.
This is the burden of the word of the LORD against the land of Hadrach and Damascus its resting place— for the eyes of men and of all the tribes of Israel are upon the LORD—
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
Return to your
stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even
today I declare that I will
restore to you double.
And I will
strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
I will
strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will
restore them because I have
compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I will answer them.
Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Then I said, “I will no longer
shepherd you. Let the dying die, and the perishing perish; and let those who remain
devour one another’s flesh.”
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses
rifled, and the women
ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
For I will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city will be captured, the houses
looted, and the women
ravished. Half of the city will go into exile, but the
rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
And Jesus, when he was
baptized, went up
straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a
dove, and lighting upon him:
As soon as Jesus was
baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a
dove and
resting on Him.
And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
If the home is worthy, let your peace rest on it; but if it is not, let your peace return to you.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you
rest.
Come to Me, all you who are
weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am
meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Then Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored to full use, just like the other.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through
arid places seeking
rest and does not find it.
