Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king’s
treasure house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king
send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
Now, therefore, if it pleases the king, let a search be made of the royal

send us his decision in this matter.

And I
sent them to
Iddo, the leader at Casiphia, with a message for him and his
kinsmen, the temple servants at Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.
Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that
tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
So now let us make a covenant before our God to
send away all the foreign wives and their children, according to the counsel of my lord and of those who
tremble at the command of our God. Let it be done according to the Law.

sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for

sent him, but that he had uttered this prophecy against me because
Tobiah and
Sanballat had
hired him.

Tobiah, and the letters of
Tobiah came unto them.

sent many letters to
Tobiah, and
Tobiah’s letters came back to them.
Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And
Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.

send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye
sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Then
Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and
send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since
today is holy to our Lord. Do not
grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to

sent letters to all the provinces of the kingdom, to each province in its own
script and to each people in their own language,

And the letters were
sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the
thirteenth day of the
twelfth month, which is the month
Adar, and to take the
spoil of them for a prey.
And the letters were
sent by couriers to each of the royal provinces with the order to destroy, kill, and
annihilate all the Jews—young and old, women and children—and to
plunder their possessions on a single day, the
thirteenth day of
Adar, the
twelfth month.

Then
Mordecai commanded to answer
Esther, Think not with
thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
he sent back to her this reply: “Do not imagine that because you are in the king’s palace you alone will escape the fate of all the Jews.

Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the
fourteenth day of the month
Adar a day of
gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of
sending portions one to another.
This is why the rural Jews, who live in the villages, observe the
fourteenth day of the month of
Adar as a day of joy and feasting. It is a
holiday for
sending gifts to one another.
And
Mordecai wrote these things, and
sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king
Ahasuerus, both
nigh and far,
Mordecai recorded these events and
sent letters to all the Jews in all the provinces of King
Xerxes, both near and far,
As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from
mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of
sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
as the days on which the Jews gained rest from their enemies and the month in which their sorrow turned to joy and their
mourning into a

sending gifts to one another and to the poor.
And he
sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
Job’s sons would take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would
invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job
sent and
sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have
sinned, and
cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
And when the days of feasting were over, Job would
send for his children to
purify them, rising early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought, “Perhaps my children have
sinned and
cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.
Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
He gives rain to the earth and sends water upon the fields.
Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
If He holds back the waters, they dry up, and if He releases them, they
overwhelm the land.
Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
You
forever overpower him, and he passes on; You change his countenance and
send him away.

ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.

sent widows away empty-handed, and the strength of the fatherless was
crushed.

whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
He gives them a sense of security, but His eyes are on their ways.
They were children of fools,
yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.
A
senseless and nameless
brood, they were driven off the land.
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his
lightning unto the ends of the earth.
He unleashes His
lightning beneath the whole sky and
sends it to the ends of the earth.
Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?
Can you
send the
lightning bolts on their way? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?
Who hath
sent out the wild
ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild
ass?
Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.
May my
vindication come from Your presence; may Your eyes see what is right.
Yea, he
sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and
discomfited them.
He shot His arrows and scattered the foes; He
hurled lightning and routed them.
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.
May He
send you help from the sanctuary and
sustain you from
Zion.
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain, and to the place where You dwell.
For he
seeth that wise men die, likewise the
fool and the
brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
For it is clear that wise men die, and the
foolish and the
senseless both perish and leave their wealth to others.
He shall
send from heaven, and save from the reproach of him that would
swallow me up.
Selah. God shall
send forth his mercy and his truth.
He reaches down from heaven and saves me; He rebukes those who
trample me.
Selah God
sends forth His loving devotion and His truth.
You
sent abundant rain, O God; You refreshed Your
weary inheritance.
To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he
doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.
to Him who rides upon the highest heavens of old; behold, His mighty voice resounds.
So
foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
I was
senseless and ignorant; I was a
brute beast before You.
The clouds poured out water: the
skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
The clouds poured down water; the
skies resounded with
thunder; Your arrows
flashed back and forth.
Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.
Man
ate the bread of angels; He
sent them food in abundance.

sent divers sorts of
flies among them, which
devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

indignation, and trouble, by
sending evil angels among them.
She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
It sent out its branches to the Sea, and its shoots toward the River.
A
senseless man does not know, and a
fool does not understand,
Understand, ye
brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
Take notice, O senseless among the people! O fools, when will you be wise?
He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
He sends forth springs in the valleys; they flow between the mountains.

He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron, whom He had chosen.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
He
sent darkness, and it became dark— yet they
defied His words.
And he gave them their request; but
sent leanness into their soul.
So He granted their request, but sent a wasting disease upon them.
He
sent his word, and
healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
He
sent forth His word and
healed them; He
rescued them from the Pit.
The LORD shall
send the rod of thy strength out of
Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
The LORD extends Your mighty
scepter from
Zion: “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
He
sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and
reverend is his name.
Save now, I
beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I
beseech thee,
send now prosperity.
O LORD, save us, we pray. We
beseech You, O LORD, cause us to
prosper!
Who
sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
Reach down from on high; set me free and
rescue me from the deep waters, from the
grasp of foreigners,

As
vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the
sluggard to them that
send him.
Like
vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the slacker to those who
send him.
A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
A divine
verdict is on the lips of a king; his mouth must not
betray justice.
An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel
messenger shall be
sent against him.
An evil man seeks only rebellion; a cruel

That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
to show you true and reliable words, that you may soundly answer those who sent you?
As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful
messenger to them that
send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest is a
trustworthy messenger to those who
send him; he refreshes the soul of his masters.
He that
sendeth a message by the hand of a
fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
Like cutting off one’s own feet or drinking violence is the
sending of a message by the hand of a
fool.
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
When the sentence for a crime is not speedily executed, the hearts of men become fully set on doing evil.
As dead
flies bring a
stench to the
perfumer’s oil, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
Yea also, when he that is a
fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a
fool.
Even as the
fool walks along the road, his
sense is lacking, and he shows
everyone that he is a
fool.
While the king sitteth at his table, my
spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
spouse, with me from
Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and
Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
bride, come with me from
Lebanon! Descend from the
peak of Amana, from the summits of
Senir and
Hermon, from the dens of the lions, from the mountains of the leopards.
The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
The mandrakes
send forth a
fragrance, and at our door is every delicacy, new as well as old, that I have
treasured up for you, my beloved.
