He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of
Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his
servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of
Gath-hepher.
This

servant Jonah son of Amittai, the prophet from
Gath-hepher.
So
Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy

testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my
servants the prophets.
Yet through all His prophets and seers, the LORD
warned Israel and Judah, saying, “Turn from your wicked ways and keep My commandments and statutes, according to the entire Law that I commanded your fathers and delivered to you through My
servants the prophets.”
Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
Finally, the LORD removed Israel from His presence, as He had declared through all His servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their homeland into Assyria, where they are to this day.
Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but
transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the
servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.
This happened because they did not
listen to the voice of the LORD their God, but
violated His covenant—all that Moses the
servant of the LORD had commanded—and would neither
listen nor obey.
How then
wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s
servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for
chariots and for
horsemen?
For how can you
repel a single officer among the least of my master’s
servants when you depend on Egypt for
chariots and
horsemen?
Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto
Rab-shakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy
servants in the
Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.
Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, along with Shebnah and Joah, said to the
Rabshakeh, “Please speak to your
servants in
Aramaic, since we understand it. Do not speak with us in Hebrew in the hearing of the people on the wall.”
So the
servants of king
Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

servants of King
Hezekiah went to Isaiah,
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the
servants of the king of Assyria have
blasphemed me.
who replied, “Tell your master that this is what the LORD says: ‘Do not be afraid of the words you have heard, with which the
servants of the king of Assyria have
blasphemed Me.
By the messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my
chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon, and will cut down the tall
cedar trees thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his
Carmel.
Through your
servants you have
taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many
chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of
Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its
cypresses. I have reached its
farthest outposts, the densest of its forests.
For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
‘I will defend this city and save it for My own sake and for the sake of My servant David.’”
And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for My sake and for the sake of My servant David.’”
Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
I will never again cause the feet of the Israelites to
wander from the land that I gave to their fathers, if only they are careful to do all I have commanded them—the whole Law that My
servant Moses commanded them.”
And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy
servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.
And Shaphan the
scribe went to the king and reported, “Your
servants have paid out the money that was found in the temple and have put it into the hands of the workers and supervisors of the house of the LORD.”
And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and
Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the
scribe, and Asahiah a
servant of the king’s, saying,
and commanded Hilkiah the priest,
Ahikam son of Shaphan, Achbor son of Micaiah, Shaphan the
scribe, and Asaiah the
servant of the king:
From
Megiddo his
servants carried his body in a
chariot, brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb. Then the people of the land took
Jehoahaz son of
Josiah,
anointed him, and made him king in place of his father.
In his days
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and
Jehoiakim became his
servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of
Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his
servants the prophets.
At that time the
servants of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
At that time the
servants of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched up to Jerusalem, and the city came under siege.
And
Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his
servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his
servants, his commanders, and his officials all surrendered to the king of Babylon. So in the eighth year of his reign, the king of Babylon took him
captive.
And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the
nineteenth year of king
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, a
servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the

servant of the king of Babylon, entered Jerusalem.
And Gedaliah
sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the
servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
And Gedaliah took an oath before them and their men,
assuring them, “Do not be afraid of the
servants of the Chaldeans. Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.”

Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore to him Attai.
But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an
atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the
servant of God had commanded.
But Aaron and his sons did all the work of the Most Holy Place. They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense to make
atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the
servant of God had commanded.
Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the
Nethinims.
Now the first to resettle their own property in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.
O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
O offspring of His servant Israel, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones.
Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:
“Go and tell My servant David that this is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build Me a house in which to dwell.
Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my
servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the
sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:
Now then, you are to tell My servant David that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture, from following the flock, to be the ruler over My people Israel.
And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
And as if this was a small thing in Your eyes, O God, You have spoken about the future of the house of Your servant and have regarded me as a man of great distinction, O LORD God.
What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.
What more can David say to You for so honoring Your servant? For You know Your servant,
O LORD, for thy servant’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
O LORD. For the sake of Your servant and according to Your own heart, You have accomplished this great thing and revealed all Your greatness.
Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.
And now, O LORD, let the word You have spoken concerning Your
servant and his house be established
forever. Do as You have promised,
Let it even be established, that thy name may be
magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy
servant be established before thee.
so that Your name will be established and
magnified forever when it is said, ‘The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, is God over Israel.’ And may the house of Your
servant David be established before You.
For thou, O my God, hast told thy
servant that thou
wilt build him an house: therefore thy
servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
For You, my God, have revealed to Your servant that You will build a house for him. Therefore Your servant has found the courage to pray before You.
And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
And now, O LORD, You are God! And You have promised this goodness to Your servant.
Now therefore let it please thee to
bless the house of thy
servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.
So now You have been pleased to
bless the house of Your
servant, that it may continue
forever before You. For You, O LORD, have blessed it, and it will be blessed
forever.”
And he
smote Moab; and the Moabites became David’s
servants, and brought gifts.
David also defeated the Moabites, and they became subject to David and brought him tribute.
Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became David’s
servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David
whithersoever he went.
Then he placed garrisons in
Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
And he put garrisons in
Edom; and all the Edomites became David’s
servants. Thus the LORD preserved David
whithersoever he went.
He placed garrisons in
Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
And David said, I will
shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the
servants of David came into the land of the children of
Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
And David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to
console Hanun concerning his father. But when David’s
servants arrived in the land of the
Ammonites to
console him,
But the princes of the children of
Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David
doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his
servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to
spy out the land?
the princes of the
Ammonites said to Hanun, “Just because David has sent you comforters, do you really believe he is showing respect for your father? Have not his
servants come to you to
explore the land,
spy it out, and overthrow it?”
Wherefore Hanun took David’s
servants, and
shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.
So Hanun took David’s
servants,
shaved their beards, cut off their garments at the hips, and sent them away.
And when the
servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with David, and became his
servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of
Ammon any more.
When Hadadezer’s subjects saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Arameans were unwilling to help the
Ammonites anymore.
These were born unto the
giant in
Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his
servants.
So these descendants of Rapha in
Gath fell at the hands of David and his
servants.
And
Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s
servants? why then
doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of
trespass to Israel?
But
Joab replied, “May the LORD multiply His troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all
servants of my lord? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”
And David said unto God, I have
sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I
beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy
servant; for I have done very
foolishly.
Then David said to God, “I have
sinned greatly because I have done this thing. Now I
beg You to take away the iniquity of Your
servant, for I have acted very
foolishly.”
So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at
Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the
servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
And Solomon and the whole assembly went to the high place at
Gibeon because it was the
location of God’s Tent of Meeting, which Moses the
servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
Send me also
cedar trees,
fir trees, and
algum trees, out of
Lebanon: for I know that thy
servants can skill to cut timber in
Lebanon; and, behold, my
servants shall be with thy
servants,
Send me also
cedar,
cypress, and
algum logs from
Lebanon, for I know that your
servants have skill to cut timber there. And indeed, my
servants will work with yours
And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.
I will pay your servants, the woodcutters, 20,000 cors of ground wheat, 20,000 cors of barley, 20,000 baths of wine, and 20,000 baths of olive oil.”
Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:
Now let my lord send to his servants the wheat, barley, olive oil, and wine he promised.
And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
and said: “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven or on earth, keeping Your covenant of loving devotion with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
You have kept Your promise to Your servant, my father David. What You spoke with Your mouth You have fulfilled with Your hand this day.
Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy
servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take
heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
Therefore now, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant, my father David, what You promised when You said: ‘You will never fail to have a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants guard their way to walk in My law as you have walked before Me.’
Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be
verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy
servant David.
And now, O LORD, God of Israel, please
confirm what You promised to Your
servant David.
Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy
servant, and to his
supplication, O LORD my God, to
hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy
servant prayeth before thee:
Yet regard the prayer and
plea of Your
servant, O LORD my God, so that You may hear the cry and the prayer that Your
servant is praying before You.
That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place
whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to
hearken unto the prayer which thy
servant prayeth toward this place.
May Your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your Name, so that You may hear the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place.
Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy
servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest,
forgive.
Hear the
plea of Your
servant and of Your people Israel when they pray toward this place. May You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place. May You hear and
forgive.
Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy
servants, by requiting the wicked, by
recompensing his way upon his own head; and by
justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.
then may You hear from heaven and act. May You judge Your
servants,
condemning the wicked man by bringing down on his own head what he has done, and
justifying the righteous man by rewarding him according to his righteousness.
Then hear thou from heaven, and
forgive the sin of thy
servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.
then may You hear from heaven and
forgive the sin of Your
servants, Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk. May You send rain on the land that You gave Your people as an inheritance.
O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine
anointed: remember the
mercies of David thy
servant.
O LORD God, do not
reject Your
anointed one. Remember Your loving devotion to Your
servant David.”
But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no
servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his
chariots and
horsemen.
But Solomon did not
consign any of the Israelites to slave labor, because they were his men of war, his officers and captains, and the commanders of his
chariots and cavalry.
And Huram sent him by the hands of his
servants ships, and
servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the
servants of Solomon to
Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
So
Hiram sent him ships captained by his
servants, along with crews of experienced sailors. They went with Solomon’s
servants to
Ophir and acquired from there 450 talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.
And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his
servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their
apparel; his cupbearers also, and their
apparel; and his
ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
the food at his table, the seating of his
servants, the service and
attire of his attendants and cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he presented at the house of the LORD, it took her breath away.
Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.
How blessed are your men! How blessed are these servants of yours who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!
And the
servants also of Huram, and the
servants of Solomon, which brought gold from
Ophir, brought
algum trees and precious stones.
(The
servants of
Hiram and of Solomon who brought gold from
Ophir also brought
algum wood and precious stones.
And king Solomon gave to the queen of
Sheba all her desire,
whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her
servants.
King Solomon gave the queen of
Sheba all she desired—whatever she asked—far more than she had brought the king. Then she left and returned to her own country, along with her
servants.
For the king’s ships went to
Tarshish with the
servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of
Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
For the king had the ships of
Tarshish that went with
Hiram’s
servants, and once every three years the ships of
Tarshish would arrive bearing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.
And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.
They replied, “If you will be kind to these people and please them by speaking kind words to them, they will be your
servants forever.”
Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
Nevertheless, they will become his servants, so that they may learn the difference between serving Me and serving the kings of other lands.”
Yet
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the
servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
Yet
Jeroboam son of Nebat, a
servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.
And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?
So the king called Jehoiada the high priest and said, “Why have you not required the Levites to bring from Judah and Jerusalem the tax imposed by Moses the servant of the LORD and by the assembly of Israel for the Tent of the Testimony?”
And they made a
proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection that Moses the
servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
And a
proclamation was issued in Judah and Jerusalem that they were to bring to the LORD the tax imposed by Moses the
servant of God on Israel in the wilderness.
And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own
servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and
slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the
sepulchres of the kings.
And when the Arameans had withdrawn, they left
Joash severely wounded. His own
servants conspired against him for
shedding the blood of the son of Jehoiada the priest, and they killed him on his bed. So he died and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
Now it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he
slew his
servants that had killed the king his father.
As soon as the kingdom was firmly in his
grasp,
Amaziah executed the
servants who had murdered his father the king.
After this did
Sennacherib king of Assyria send his
servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege against
Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto
Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,
Later, as
Sennacherib king of Assyria and all his forces besieged
Lachish, he sent his
servants to Jerusalem with a message for King
Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of Judah who were in Jerusalem:
And his
servants spake yet more against the LORD God, and against his
servant Hezekiah.
And the
servants of
Sennacherib spoke further against the LORD God and against His
servant Hezekiah.
And his
servants conspired against him, and
slew him in his own house.
Then the
servants of Amon
conspired against him and killed him in his palace.
And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it.
Then Shaphan brought the book to the king and reported, “Your servants are doing all that has been placed in their hands.
And the king commanded Hilkiah, and
Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of
Micah, and Shaphan the
scribe, and Asaiah a
servant of the king’s, saying,
and commanded Hilkiah,
Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of
Micah, Shaphan the
scribe, and Asaiah the
servant of the king:
And the archers shot at king
Josiah; and the king said to his
servants, Have me away; for I am
sore wounded.
There the archers shot King
Josiah, who said to his
servants, “Take me away, for I am badly wounded!”
His
servants therefore took him out of that
chariot, and put him in the second
chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the
sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem
mourned for
Josiah.
So his
servants took him out of his
chariot, put him in his second
chariot, and brought him to Jerusalem, where he died. And
Josiah was buried in the tomb of his fathers, and all Judah and Jerusalem
mourned for him.
And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
Those who escaped the sword were carried by
Nebuchadnezzar into exile in Babylon, and they became
servants to him and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to power.
The
Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,
The temple servants: the descendants of Ziha, the descendants of Hasupha, the descendants of Tabbaoth,
The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,
The descendants of the servants of Solomon: the descendants of Sotai, the descendants of Sophereth, the descendants of Peruda,
All the
Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s
servants, were three hundred
ninety and two.
The temple servants and descendants of the servants of Solomon numbered 392 in all.
Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.
in addition to their 7,337 menservants and maidservants, as well as their 200 male and female singers.
So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the
porters, and the
Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
So the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants, along with some of the people, settled in their own towns; and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.
This is the copy of the letter that they sent unto him, even unto
Artaxerxes the king; Thy
servants the men on this side the river, and at such a time.
(This is the text of the letter they sent to him.) To King
Artaxerxes, From your
servants, the men west of the Euphrates:
And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and set up.
And this is the answer they returned: “We are servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and completed.
And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the
porters, and the
Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of
Artaxerxes the king.
So in the seventh year of King
Artaxerxes, he went up to Jerusalem with some of the Israelites, including priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, and temple
servants.
Also we
certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers,
porters,
Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to
impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.
And be
advised that you have no authority to
impose tribute, duty, or
toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, doorkeepers, temple
servants, or other
