Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.
The leader of the families of the Merarites was Zuriel son of Abihail; they were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle.
And under the
custody and charge of the
sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth
thereto,
The duties assigned to the
sons of Merari were the tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and all its
equipment—all the service for these items,
But those that
encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his
sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s
sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the
sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.
And thou shalt give the money,
wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his
sons.
Give the money to Aaron and his
sons as the
redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”
And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And Moses gave the
redemption money to Aaron and his
sons in obedience to the word of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
Take the sum of the
sons of
Kohath from among the
sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,
“Take a census of the Kohathites among the Levites by their clans and families,
This shall be the service of the
sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:
This service of the Kohathites at the Tent of Meeting regards the most holy things.
And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his
sons, and they shall take down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
Whenever the camp sets out, Aaron and his
sons are to go in, take down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.
And when Aaron and his
sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the
sons of
Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the
sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
When Aaron and his
sons have finished covering the holy objects and all their
equipment, as soon as the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites shall come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy objects, or they will die. These are the
transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the Tent of Meeting.
And to the office of
Eleazar the
son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the
anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest shall oversee the oil for the light, the
fragrant incense, the daily grain offering, and the
anointing oil. He has oversight of the entire tabernacle and everything in it, including the holy objects and their utensils.”
But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his
sons shall go in, and
appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:
In order that they may live and not die when they come near the most holy things, do this for them: Aaron and his
sons are to go in and
assign each man his task and what he is to carry.
Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families;
“Take a census of the Gershonites as well, by their families and clans,
At the appointment of Aaron and his
sons shall be all the service of the
sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall
appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.
All the service of the Gershonites—all their transport duties and other work—is to be done at the direction of Aaron and his
sons; you are to
assign to them all that they are responsible to carry.
This is the service of the families of the
sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of
Ithamar the
son of Aaron the priest.
This is the service of the Gershonite clans at the Tent of Meeting, and their duties shall be under the direction of
Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers;
As for the sons of Merari, you are to number them by their clans and families,
This is the service of the families of the
sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of
Ithamar the
son of Aaron the priest.
This is the service of the Merarite clans according to all their work at the Tent of Meeting, under the direction of
Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.”
And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their fathers,
So Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of the congregation numbered the Kohathites by their clans and families,
And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers,
Then the Gershonites were numbered by their clans and families,
These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.
These were counted from the Gershonite clans who served at the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted at the LORD’s command.
And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers,
And the Merarites were numbered by their clans and families,
These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
These were counted from the Merarite clans, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the LORD’s command through Moses.
Speak unto Aaron and unto his
sons, saying, On this wise ye shall
bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
“Tell Aaron and his
sons: This is how you are to
bless the Israelites. Say to them:
Two wagons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service:
He gave the Gershonites two carts and four oxen, as their service required,
And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the
sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of
Ithamar the
son of Aaron the priest.
and he gave the Merarites four carts and eight oxen, as their service required, all under the direction of
Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
But unto the
sons of
Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.
But he did not give any to the Kohathites, since they were to carry on their shoulders the holy objects for which they were responsible.

And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may
execute the service of the LORD.
Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the sons of Israel, so that they may perform the service of the LORD.
And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.
You are to have the Levites stand before Aaron and his sons and then present them before the LORD as a wave offering.
For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every
womb, even instead of the
firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
For the Levites have been wholly given to Me from among the
sons of Israel. I have taken them for Myself in place of all who come first from the
womb, the
firstborn of all the
sons of Israel.
And I have taken the Levites for all the
firstborn of the children of Israel.
But I have taken the Levites in place of all the
firstborn among the
sons of Israel.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his
sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an
atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come
nigh unto the sanctuary.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his
sons from among the Israelites, to perform the service for the Israelites at the Tent of Meeting and to make
atonement on their behalf, so that no plague will come against the Israelites when they approach the sanctuary.”

sons of
Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
We even saw the

sware to make you dwell therein, save

Nun.

Korah, the
son of Izhar, the
son of
Kohath, the
son of Levi, and Dathan and
Abiram, the
sons of Eliab, and On, the
son of Peleth,
sons of
Reuben, took men:
Now

Kohath son of Levi, along with some Reubenites—Dathan and
Abiram,
sons of Eliab, and On
son of Peleth—conducted
And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to
morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD
doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye
sons of Levi.
and
tomorrow you are to place fire and incense in them in the presence of the LORD. Then the man the LORD chooses will be the one who is holy. It is you
sons of Levi who have taken too much upon
yourselves!”
And Moses said unto
Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye
sons of Levi:
Moses also said to
Korah, “Now
listen, you
sons of Levi!
And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
He has brought you near, you and all your fellow Levites, but you are seeking the priesthood as well.
And Moses sent to call Dathan and
Abiram, the
sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
Then Moses summoned Dathan and
Abiram, the
sons of Eliab, but they said, “We will not come!
So they
gat up from the tabernacle of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and

sons, and their little children.
So they moved away from the dwellings of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram. Meanwhile, Dathan and

Speak unto
Eleazar the
son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the censers from the flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are holy.
And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
So the LORD said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house must bear the iniquity involving the sanctuary. And you and your sons alone must bear the iniquity involving your priesthood.
And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
But bring with you also your brothers from the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may join you and assist you and your sons before the Tent of the Testimony.
Therefore thou and thy
sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the
vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
But only you and your
sons shall attend to your priesthood for everything concerning the altar and what is inside the
veil, and you are to perform that service. I am giving you the work of the priesthood as a gift, but any outsider who comes near the sanctuary must be put to death.”
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine
heave offerings of all the
hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the
anointing, and to thy
sons, by an
ordinance for ever.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “Behold, I have put you in charge of My offerings. As for all the sacred offerings of the Israelites, I have given them to you and your sons as a portion and a permanent statute.
This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every
oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every
trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy
sons.
A portion of the most holy offerings reserved from the fire will be yours. From all the offerings they render to Me as most holy offerings, whether grain offerings or sin offerings or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons.
