And this is thine; the
heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy
sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it.
And this is yours as well: the offering of their gifts, along with all the wave offerings of the Israelites. I have given this to you and your
sons and daughters as a permanent statute. Every
ceremonially clean person in your household may eat it.
Every thing that openeth the
matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the
firstborn of man shalt thou surely
redeem, and the
firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou
redeem.
The
firstborn of every
womb, whether man or beast, that is offered to the LORD belongs to you. But you must surely
redeem every
firstborn son and every
firstborn male of unclean animals.
All the
heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy
sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.
All the holy offerings that the Israelites present to the LORD I give to you and to your sons and daughters as a permanent statute. It is a permanent covenant of salt before the LORD for you and your offspring.”
Take Aaron and
Eleazar his
son, and bring them up unto mount
Hor:
Take Aaron and his
son Eleazar and bring them up Mount
Hor.
And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his
son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.
Remove Aaron’s priestly garments and put them on his
son Eleazar. Aaron will be gathered to his people and will die there.”
And Moses
stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his
son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and
Eleazar came down from the mount.
After Moses had removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his
son Eleazar, Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and
Eleazar came down from the mountain.
Then Israel
sang this
song, Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it:

Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of
Chemosh: he hath given his
sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the
Amorites.
Woe to you, O Moab! You are destroyed, O people of
Chemosh! He gave up his
sons as refugees, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon king of the
Amorites.
So they
smote him, and his
sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.
So they struck down
Og, along with his
sons and his whole army, until no
remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.

son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the

Midian, Now shall this company
lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the
son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.
So the Moabites said to the elders of
Midian, “This
horde will
devour everything around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.” Since Balak
son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time,
He sent messengers therefore unto
Balaam the
son of Beor to
Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they
abide over against me:
he sent messengers to
Balaam son of Beor at
Pethor, which is by the Euphrates in the land of his people. “Behold, a people has come out of Egypt,” said Balak. “They cover the face of the land and have settled next to me.
And
Balaam said unto God, Balak the
son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying,
And
Balaam said to God, “Balak
son of Zippor, king of Moab, sent me this message:
And they came to
Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the
son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:
They came to
Balaam and said, “This is what Balak
son of Zippor says: ‘Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me,
And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear;
hearken unto me, thou
son of Zippor:
Then
Balaam lifted up an
oracle, saying: “Arise, O Balak, and
listen; give ear to me, O
son of Zippor.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the
son of man, that he should
repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
God is not a man, that He should lie, or a
son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not
fulfill?
And he took up his parable, and said,
Balaam the
son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
and he lifted up an
oracle, saying: “This is the prophecy of
Balaam son of Beor, the prophecy of a man whose eyes are open,
And he took up his parable, and said,
Balaam the
son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
Then
Balaam lifted up an
oracle, saying, “This is the prophecy of
Balaam son of Beor, the prophecy of a man whose eyes are open,
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not
nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a
Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall
smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of
Sheth.
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come forth from Jacob, and a
scepter will arise from Israel. He will
crush the skulls of Moab and strike down all the
sons of
Sheth.
And when
Phinehas, the
son of
Eleazar, the
son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a
javelin in his hand;
On seeing this,
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the
son of Aaron the priest, got up from the assembly, took a
spear in his hand,
Phinehas, the
son of
Eleazar, the
son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was
zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
“

Eleazar, the
son of Aaron the priest, has turned My wrath away from the Israelites; for he was
zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not
consume the Israelites in My zeal.

Caleb the
son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the
son of
Nun.
For the LORD had told them that they would surely die in the wilderness. Not one was left except
Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua
son of
Nun.
Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the

Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of
Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no
sons.
“Our father died in the wilderness, but he was not among the followers of
Korah who gathered together against the LORD. Instead, he died because of his own sin, and he had no
sons.
Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
Why should the name of our father disappear from his clan because he had no sons? Give us property among our father’s brothers.”
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
Furthermore, you shall say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no
son, you are to transfer his inheritance to his daughter.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the

And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and
Phinehas the
son of
Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the
trumpets to blow in his hand.
And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with
Phinehas son of
Eleazar the priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the
trumpets for signaling.
And they
slew the kings of
Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of
Midian:
Balaam also the
son of Beor they
slew with the sword.
Among the slain were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of
Midian. They also killed
Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to commit
trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

Save
Caleb the
son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the
son of
Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD.
not one except
Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua
son of
Nun—because they did follow the LORD wholeheartedly.’
So concerning them Moses commanded
Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the
son of
Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
So Moses gave orders about them to
Eleazar the priest, to Joshua
son of
Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of
Gad, and to the children of
Reuben, and unto half the tribe of
Manasseh the
son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the
Amorites, and the kingdom of
Og king of
Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of
Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the
Amorites and the kingdom of
Og king of
Bashan—the land including its cities and the territory surrounding them.
And the children of Machir the
son of
Manasseh went to
Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it.
The descendants of Machir
son of
Manasseh went to
Gilead, captured it, and drove out the
Amorites who were there.
And Moses gave
Gilead unto Machir the
son of
Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.
So Moses gave
Gilead to the clan of Machir
son of
Manasseh, and they settled there.
And
Jair the
son of
Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havoth-
jair.
These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you:
Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the
son of
Nun.
“These are the names of the men who are to
assign the land as an inheritance for you:
Eleazar the priest and Joshua
son of
Nun.
And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah,
Caleb the
son of Jephunneh.
These are their names:
Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah;
And of the tribe of the children of
Simeon, Shemuel the
son of Ammihud.
Shemuel
son of Ammihud from the tribe of
Simeon;
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.
Elidad son of Chislon from the tribe of Benjamin;
And the prince of the tribe of the children of
Dan, Bukki the
son of Jogli.
Bukki
son of Jogli, a leader from the tribe of
Dan;
The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of
Manasseh, Hanniel the
son of
Ephod.
Hanniel
son of
Ephod, a leader from the tribe of
Manasseh son of Joseph;
And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.
Kemuel son of Shiphtan, a leader from the tribe of Ephraim;
And the prince of the tribe of the children of
Zebulun, Elizaphan the
son of Parnach.
Eli-zaphan
son of Parnach, a leader from the tribe of
Zebulun;
And the prince of the tribe of the children of
Issachar, Paltiel the
son of Azzan.
Paltiel
son of Azzan, a leader from the tribe of
Issachar;
And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.
Ahihud son of Shelomi, a leader from the tribe of Asher;
And the prince of the tribe of the children of
Naphtali, Pedahel the
son of Ammihud.
and Pedahel
son of Ammihud, a leader from the tribe of
Naphtali.”
And the chief fathers of the families of the children of
Gilead, the
son of Machir, the
son of
Manasseh, of the families of the
sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:
Now the family heads of the clan of
Gilead son of Machir
son of
Manasseh, one of the clans of Joseph, approached Moses and the leaders who were the heads of the
Israelite families and addressed them,
And if they be married to any of the
sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe
whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
But if they marry any of the men from the other tribes of Israel, their inheritance will be withdrawn from the portion of our fathers and added to the tribe into which they marry. So our
allotted inheritance would be taken away.
And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
So at the word of the LORD, Moses commanded the Israelites: “The tribe of the sons of Joseph speaks correctly.
For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and
Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father’s brothers’
sons:
Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and
Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to cousins on their father’s side.
And they were married into the families of the
sons of
Manasseh the
son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
They married within the clans of the descendants of
Manasseh son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained within the tribe of their father’s clan.
Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the
sons of the Anakims there.
Where can we go? Our brothers have made our hearts
melt, saying: ‘The people are larger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the heavens. We even saw the descendants of the
Anakim there.’”
And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man
doth bear his
son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.
and in the wilderness, where the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way by which you traveled until you reached this place.”
Save
Caleb the
son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath
trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.
except
Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land on which he has set foot, because he followed the LORD wholeheartedly.”
But Joshua the
son of
Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither:
encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to
inherit it.
Joshua
son of
Nun, who stands before you, will enter it.
Encourage him, for he will enable Israel to
inherit the land.
And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we
smote him, and his
sons, and all his people.
And the LORD our God delivered him over to us, and we defeated him and his sons and his whole army.
Jair the
son of
Manasseh took all the country of
Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name,
Bashan-havoth-
jair, unto this day.
Jair, a
descendant of
Manasseh, took the whole region of
Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites. He renamed
Bashan after himself, Havvoth-
jair, by which it is called to this day.
Only take
heed to
thyself, and keep thy soul
diligently, lest thou
forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy
sons, and thy
sons’
sons;
Only be on your guard and
diligently watch
yourselves, so that you do not
forget the things your eyes have seen, and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and grandchildren.
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy
son, nor thy daughter, nor thy
manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine
ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy
manservant and thy
maidservant may rest as well as thou.
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your
son or daughter, nor your
manservant or
maidservant, nor your ox or
donkey or any of your
livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates, so that your
manservant and
maidservant may rest as you do.
That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.
And when thy
son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the
testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?”
Then thou shalt say unto thy
son, We were Pharaoh’s
bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
Do not
intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their
sons or take their daughters for your
sons,
For they will turn away thy
son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
because they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and He will swiftly destroy you.
Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
So know in your heart that just as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of
Anak!
The people are strong and tall, the descendants of the
Anakim. You know about them, and you have heard it said, “Who can stand up to the
sons of
Anak?”
And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and
Eleazar his
son ministered in the priest’s office in his
stead.
The Israelites traveled from Beeroth
Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried, and
Eleazar his
son succeeded him as priest.
And what he did unto Dathan and
Abiram, the
sons of Eliab, the
son of
Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and
swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
and what He did in the midst of all the Israelites to Dathan and
Abiram, the
sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth and
swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that belonged to them.
And ye shall
rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your
sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the
Levite that is within your gates;
forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
And you shall
rejoice before the LORD your God—you, your
sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the
Levite within your gates, since he has no portion or inheritance among you.
But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy
son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the
Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt
rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
Instead, you must eat them in the presence of the LORD your God at the place the LORD your God will choose—you, your
sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the
Levite within your gates.
Rejoice before the LORD your God in all you do,
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every
abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their
sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
You must not worship the LORD your God in this way, because they practice for their gods every
abomination which the LORD hates. They even burn their
sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.
If thy brother, the
son of thy mother, or thy
son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy
