stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the
dove out of the ark;
Noah waited seven more days and again sent out the
dove from the ark.

stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the
dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
And
Noah waited seven more days and sent out the
dove again, but this time she did not return to him.
And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
But the land was unable to support both of them while they
stayed together, for they had so many possessions that they were unable to
coexist.
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
As soon as the men had brought them out, one of them said, “Run for your lives! Do not look back, and do not stop
anywhere on the plain!
Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains—for he was afraid to stay in Zoar—where they lived in a cave.
And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and
sojourned in
Gerar.
Now Abraham journeyed from there to the region of the Negev and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While he was
staying in
Gerar,
And Abraham said unto his young men,
Abide ye here with the
ass; and I and the
lad will go
yonder and worship, and come again to you,
“
Stay here with the
donkey,” Abraham told his servants. “The boy and I will go over there to worship, and then we will return to you.”
And the boys grew: and
Esau was a
cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
When the boys grew up,
Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man who
stayed at home.
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will
bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I
sware unto Abraham thy father;
Stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and
bless you. For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring, and I will
confirm the oath that I
swore to your father Abraham.
And
tarry with him a few days, until thy brother’s
fury turn away;
Stay with him for a while, until your brother’s
fury subsides—
And
Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.
Then
Laban declared, “You are indeed my own flesh and blood.” After Jacob had
stayed with him a month,
And
Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man:
abide with me.
Laban replied, “Better that I give her to you than to another.
Stay here with me.”
And
Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes,
tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
But
Laban replied, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please
stay. I have learned by
divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you.”
And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak unto my lord
Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have
sojourned with
Laban, and
stayed there until now:
He
instructed them, “You are to say to my master
Esau, ‘Your servant Jacob says: I have been
staying with
Laban and have remained there until now.
And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto
Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is
Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac
sojourned.
Jacob returned to his father Isaac at
Mamre, near Kiriath-arba (that is,
Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had
stayed.
For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.
For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together; the land where they
stayed could not support them because of their
livestock.
Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant
abide instead of the
lad a
bondman to my lord; and let the
lad go up with his brethren.
Now please let your servant stay here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy. Let him return with his brothers.
And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
Moses agreed to stay with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.
But every woman shall
borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and
raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall
spoil the Egyptians.
Every woman shall ask her
neighbor and any woman
staying in her house for silver and gold
jewelry and clothing, and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will
plunder the Egyptians.”
Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and
hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall
stay no longer.
Pray to the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s
thunder and
hail. I will let you go; you do not need to
stay any longer.”
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the LORD. Even your little ones may go with you; only your flocks and herds must stay behind.”
And the blood shall be to you for a
token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I
smite the land of Egypt.
The blood on the houses where you are staying will distinguish them; when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No plague will fall on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Now the
sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
Now the duration of the Israelites’ stay in Egypt was 430 years.
See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days;
abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Understand that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day He will give you bread for two days. On the seventh day,
everyone must
stay where he is; no one may leave his place.”
But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat
thereon; and Aaron and Hur
stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
When Moses’ hands grew heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held his hands up, one on each side, so that his hands remained steady until the sun went down.
Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his
dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
You shall do likewise with your cattle and your sheep. Let them stay with their mothers for seven days, but on the eighth day you are to give them to Me.
Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous
slay thou not: for I will not
justify the wicked.
Stay far away from a false
accusation. Do not kill the innocent or the just, for I will not
acquit the guilty.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay here, so that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”
And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:
On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine him, and if he sees that the
infection is unchanged and has not spread on the skin, the priest must
isolate him for another seven days.
But if the bright spot
stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning
boil; and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
But if the spot remains unchanged and does not spread, it is only the
scar from the
boil, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
And if the bright spot
stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.
But if the spot is unchanged and has not spread on the skin but has
faded, it is a swelling from the burn, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean; for it is only the
scar from the burn.
But if the
scall be in his sight at a
stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the
scall is
healed, he is clean: and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
If, however, in his sight the
scaly outbreak is unchanged and black hair has grown in it, then it has
healed. He is clean, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean.
And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy
maid, and for thy
hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
But as an
hired servant, and as a
sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:
Let him
stay with you as a
hired worker or temporary resident; he is to work for you until the Year of
Jubilee.
And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.
All that day and night, and all the next day, the people
stayed up gathering the
quail. No one gathered less than ten homers, and they spread them out all around the camp.
And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague was
halted.

halted.
Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and
Miriam died there, and was buried there.
In the first month, the whole congregation of Israel entered the Wilderness of Zin and
stayed in Kadesh. There
Miriam died and was buried.
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will
stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet.
“We will stay on the main road,” the Israelites replied, “and if we or our herds drink your water, we will pay for it. There will be no problem; only let us pass through on foot.”
Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.
“Let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will
stay on the King’s
Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
And he said unto them,
Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with
Balaam.
“
Spend the night here,”
Balaam replied, “and I will give you the answer that the LORD speaks to me.” So the princes of Moab
stayed with
Balaam.
Now therefore, I pray you,
tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.
So now, please stay here overnight as the others did, that I may find out what else the LORD has to tell me.”
And
Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go:
peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and
whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.
“
Stay here by your burnt offering while I am gone,”
Balaam said to Balak. “Perhaps the LORD will meet with me. And whatever He reveals to me, I will tell you.” So
Balaam went off to a barren height,
And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD
yonder.
Balaam said to Balak, “
Stay here beside your burnt offering while I meet the LORD over there.”
And Israel abode in
Shittim, and the people began to commit
whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
While Israel was
staying in
Shittim, the men began to
indulge in sexual immorality with the daughters of Moab,
And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her
belly. So the plague was
stayed from the children of Israel.
followed the
Israelite into his tent, and drove the
spear through both of them—through the
Israelite and on through the
belly of the woman. So the plague against the Israelites was
halted,
The LORD our God spake unto us in
Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
The LORD our God said to us at
Horeb: “You have
stayed at this mountain long enough.
So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.
For this reason you stayed in Kadesh for a long time—a very long time.
Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.
“Let us pass through your land; we will stay on the main road. We will not turn to the right or to the left.
So we abode in the valley over against Beth-peor.
So we stayed in the valley opposite Beth-peor.
When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
When I went up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the LORD made with you, I
stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I
ate no bread and
drank no water.
And I
stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD
hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.
I
stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, like the first time, and that time the LORD again
listened to me and agreed not to destroy you.
If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:
If any man among you becomes unclean because of a
nocturnal emission, he must leave the camp and
stay outside.
When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall
cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
If a man is newly married, he must not be sent to war or be pressed into any duty. For one year he is free to stay at home and bring joy to the wife he has married.
And Joshua the son of
Nun sent out of
Shittim two men to
spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even
Jericho. And they went, and came into an
harlot’s house, named
Rahab, and
lodged there.
And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.
So the
spies went out into the hill country and
stayed there three days, until their pursuers had returned without finding them, having searched all along the road.
And it came to pass, when they had done
circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
And after all the nation had been
circumcised, they
stayed there in the camp until they were
healed.
And Joshua said,
Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the
Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!
“O, Lord GOD,” Joshua said, “why did You ever bring this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hand of the
Amorites to be destroyed? If only we had been content to
stay on the other side of the Jordan!
And the sun stood still, and the moon
stayed, until the people had
avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took
vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of
Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”
And
stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and
smite the
hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
But you, do not stop there. Pursue your enemies and attack them from behind. Do not let them reach their cities, for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”
Yet the children of
Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the
Canaanites would dwell in that land.
But the descendants of
Manasseh were unable to occupy these cities, because the
Canaanites were determined to
stay in this land.
And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the
slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.
He is to
stay in that city until he stands trial before the assembly and until the death of the high priest serving at that time. Then the
manslayer may return to his own home in the city from which he fled.”
Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did
Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
Gilead remained beyond the Jordan.
Dan, why did you
linger by the ships? Asher
stayed at the coast and remained in his harbors.
Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will
tarry until thou come again.
Please do not depart from this place until I return to You. Let me bring my offering and set it before You.” And the LORD said, “I will stay until you return.”
And
Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in
Shechem.
Abimelech stayed in Arumah, and Zebul drove Gaal and his brothers out of
Shechem.
Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of
Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of
Edom would not
hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
Then Israel sent messengers to the king of
Edom, saying, ‘Please let us pass through your land,’ but the king of
Edom would not
listen. They also sent messengers to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel
stayed in Kadesh.
And
Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us
detain thee, until we shall have made ready a
kid for thee.
“Please
stay here,”
Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, “and we will prepare a young goat for you.”
And the angel of the LORD said unto
Manoah, Though thou
detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou
wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For
Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.
And the angel of the LORD replied, “Even if I
stay, I will not eat your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the LORD.” For
Manoah did not know that it was the angel of the LORD.
And he
smote them
hip and
thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
And he struck them
ruthlessly with a great slaughter, and then went down and
stayed in the cave at the rock of Etam.
And
Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of
apparel, and thy
victuals. So the
Levite went in.
“
Stay with me,”
Micah said to him, “and be my father and priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver per year, a suit of clothes, and your provisions.” So the
Levite went in
And the
Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
and agreed to
stay with him, and the young man became like a son to
Micah.
And his father in law, the
damsel’s father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and
lodged there.
His father-in-law, the
girl’s father, persuaded him to
stay, so he remained with him three days, eating, drinking, and
lodging there.
And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the
damsel’s father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and
tarry all night, and let thine heart be
merry.
So they sat down and the two of them
ate and
drank together. Then the
girl’s father said to the man, “Please agree to
stay overnight and let your heart be
merry.”
And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he
lodged there again.
The man got up to depart, but his father-in-law persuaded him, so he stayed there that night.
Then came the woman in the
dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light.
Early that morning, the woman went back to the house where her master was
staying,
collapsed at the
doorway, and lay there until it was light.
But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock
Rimmon, and abode in the rock
Rimmon four months.
But 600 men turned and fled into the wilderness to the rock of
Rimmon, where they
stayed four months.
Would ye
tarry for them till they were grown? would ye
stay for them from having husbands?
nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.
would you wait for them to grow up? Would you
refrain from having husbands? No, my daughters, it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me.”
Then said Boaz unto
Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to
glean in another field, neither go from hence, but
abide here fast by my maidens:
Then Boaz said to
Ruth, “
Listen, my daughter. Do not go and
glean in another field, and do not go away from this place, but
stay here close to my servant girls.
And
Ruth the
Moabitess said, He said unto me also, Thou shalt keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
Then
Ruth the
Moabitess said, “He also told me, ‘
Stay with my young men until they have finished gathering all my harvest.’”
So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to
glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
So
Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of Boaz to
glean grain until the barley and wheat harvests were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a
kinsman, well; let him do the
kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a
kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a
kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.
Stay here
tonight, and in the morning, if he wants to
redeem you, good. Let him
redeem you. But if he does not want to
redeem you, as surely as the LORD lives, I will. Now lie here until morning.”
But
Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be
weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there
abide for ever.
but
Hannah did not go. “After the boy is
weaned,” she said to her husband, “I will take him to appear before the LORD and to
stay there permanently.”
And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good;
tarry until thou have
weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son
suck until she
weaned him.
“Do what you think is best,” her husband Elkanah replied, “and
stay here until you have
weaned him. Only may the LORD
confirm His word.” So
Hannah stayed and
nursed her son until she had
weaned him.
And when the men of
Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not
abide with us: for his hand is
sore upon us, and upon
Dagon our god.
And when the men of
Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not
stay here with us, because His hand is heavy upon us and upon our god
Dagon.”
And the
kine took the straight way to the way of Beth-shemesh, and went along the
highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Beth-shemesh.
And the cows headed straight up the road toward Beth-shemesh,
staying on that one
highway and lowing as they went, never
straying to the right or to the left. The rulers of the Philistines followed behind them to the border of Beth-shemesh.
And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul,
Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may
shew thee the word of God.
As they were going down to the edge of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on
ahead of us, but you
stay for a while, and I will
reveal to you the word of God.” So the servant went on.
And Saul, and
Jonathan his son, and the people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines
encamped in
Michmash.
Now Saul and
Jonathan his son and the troops with them were
staying in Geba of Benjamin, while the Philistines camped at
Michmash.
And Saul
tarried in the
uttermost part of Gibeah under a
pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;
Meanwhile, Saul was
staying under the
pomegranate tree in Migron on the outskirts of Gibeah. And the troops who were with him numbered about six hundred men,
If they say thus unto us,
Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.
If they say, ‘Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stay where we are and will not go up to them.
Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
“Stop!”
exclaimed Samuel. “Let me tell you what the LORD said to me last night.” “Tell me,” Saul replied.
So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to
Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
So David ran away and escaped. And he went to Samuel at
Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him. Then he and Samuel went to Naioth and
stayed there.
And when thou hast
stayed three days, then thou shalt go down quickly, and come to the place where thou
didst hide
thyself when the business was in hand, and shalt remain by the stone Ezel.
When you have
stayed three days,
hurry down to the place you
hid on the day this trouble began, and remain beside the stone Ezel.
And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.
From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab, where he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and mother stay with you until I learn what God will do for me.”
And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold.
So he left them in the care of the king of Moab, and they
stayed with him the whole time David was in the
stronghold.
And the prophet
Gad said unto David,
Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.
Then the prophet
Gad said to David, “Do not
stay in the
stronghold. Depart and go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went to the forest of Hereth.
Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in
safeguard.
Stay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks your life is seeking mine as well. You will be safe with me.”
And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
And David stayed in the wilderness strongholds and in the hill country of the Wilderness of Ziph. Day after day Saul searched for him, but God would not deliver David into his hand.
Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
and Saul and his men went to seek him. When David was told about it, he went down to the rock and stayed in the Wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard of this, he pursued David there.
