Seir,
And other

captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces.

Hezekiah reestablished the divisions of the priests and Levites—each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites—for the burnt offerings and peace offerings, for ministry, for giving
thanks, and for singing praises at the gates of the LORD’s dwelling.
Because thine heart was
tender, and thou
didst humble
thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst
thyself before me, and
didst rend thy clothes, and
weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.
because your heart was
tender and you humbled
yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its people, and because you have humbled
yourself before Me and you have
torn your clothes and
wept before Me, I have heard you,’ declares the LORD.

Ahava; and there abode we in
tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.

So the exiles did as proposed.
Ezra the priest selected men who were family heads, each of them identified by name, to represent their families. On the first day of the
tenth month they
launched the investigation,
And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.
At that time the Jews who lived nearby came and told us ten times over, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.”
Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in
ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the
bondage was heavy upon this people.
Each day one ox, six choice sheep, and some fowl were prepared for me, and once every
ten days an abundance of all kinds of wine was provided. But I did not demand the food
allotted to the governor, because the burden on the people was so heavy.
And that we should bring the firstfruits of our
dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the
tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the
tithes in all the cities of our
tillage.
Moreover, we will bring to the priests at the storerooms of the house of our God the firstfruits of our
dough, of our grain offerings, of the fruit of all our trees, and of our new wine and oil. A
tenth of our produce belongs to the Levites, so that they shall receive
tithes in all the towns where we labor.
And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take
tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the
tithe of the
tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the

accompany the Levites when they collect the
tenth, and the Levites are to bring a
tenth of these
tithes to the storerooms of the treasury in the house of our God.
And the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.

Ahasuerus into his house royal in the

Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay
ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s
treasuries.
If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will deposit ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury to pay those who carry it out.”
The
ten sons of
Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews,
slew they; but on the
spoil laid they not their hand.
They killed these
ten sons of
Haman son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, but they did not lay a hand on the
plunder.
And the king said unto
Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in
Shushan the palace, and the
ten sons of
Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done.
who said to Queen
Esther, “In the citadel of
Susa the Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men, including
Haman’s
ten sons. What have they done in the rest of the royal provinces? Now what is your petition? It will be given to you. And what further do you request? It will be fulfilled.”
Then said
Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in
Shushan to do to
morrow also according unto this day’s decree, and let
Haman’s
ten sons be
hanged upon the
gallows.
And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at
Shushan; and they
hanged Haman’s
ten sons.
So the king commanded that this be done. An edict was issued in
Susa, and they
hanged the
ten sons of
Haman.
Doth not their
excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
Are not their tent cords pulled up, so that they die without wisdom?’
And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy
habitation, and shalt not sin.
You will know that your
tent is secure, and find nothing
amiss when
inspecting your home.
They that
hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to
nought.
Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
if you put away the iniquity in your hand, and allow no injustice to dwell in your tents,
The tabernacles of robbers
prosper, and they that
provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
The
tents of robbers are safe, and those who
provoke God are secure— those who carry their god in their hands.
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will
sprout again, and that the
tender branch thereof will not cease.
For there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will
sprout again, and its
tender shoots will not fail.
For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will
consume the
tents of
bribery.
The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his
candle shall be put out with him.
The light in his tent grows dark, and the lamp beside him goes out.
His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
He is
torn from the shelter of his
tent and is marched off to the king of terrors.
It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his:
brimstone shall be scattered upon his
habitation.
Fire resides in his tent; burning sulfur rains down on his dwelling.
These
ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not
ashamed that ye make
yourselves strange to me.
Ten times now you have reproached me; you
shamelessly mistreat me.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and
encamp round about my tabernacle.
His troops advance together; they construct a
ramp against me and
encamp around my
tent.
All darkness shall be
hid in his secret places: a fire not
blown shall
consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
Total darkness is reserved for his treasures. A fire unfanned will
consume him and
devour what is left in his
tent.
For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
For you say, ‘Where now is the
nobleman’s house, and where are the
tents in which the wicked dwell?’
If thou return to the
Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
If you return to the
Almighty, you will be restored. If you remove injustice from your
tents As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
when I was in my prime, when the friendship of God rested on my tent,
If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:
if I have
devoured its produce without payment or broken the spirit of its
tenants,
To satisfy the
desolate and waste ground; and to cause the
bud of the
tender herb to spring forth?
to satisfy the
parched wasteland and make it
sprout with
tender grass?
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
I will not fear the myriads set against me on every side.
LORD, who shall
abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
O LORD, who may
abide in Your
tent? Who may dwell on Your holy mountain?
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun.
Remember, O LORD, thy
tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
Remember, O LORD, Your
compassion and loving devotion, for they are from age to age.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his
pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; He will
conceal me under the cover of His
tent; He will set me high upon a rock.
Praise the LORD with
harp: sing unto him with the
psaltery and an instrument of
ten strings.
Praise the LORD with the
harp; make music to Him with
ten strings.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green
herb.
For they wither quickly like grass and
wilt like
tender plants.
Withhold not thou thy
tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
O LORD, do not
withhold Your mercy from me; Your loving devotion and faithfulness will always guard me.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy
tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving devotion; according to Your great
compassion,
blot out my transgressions.
God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and
pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living.
Selah.
Surely God will bring you down to
everlasting ruin; He will
snatch you up and
tear you away from your
tent; He will
uproot you from the land of the living.
Selah I will
abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the
covert of thy wings.
Selah.
Let me dwell in Your
tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings.
Selah The
chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in
Sinai, in the holy place.
The
chariots of God are
tens of thousands— thousands of thousands are they; the Lord is in His sanctuary as He was at
Sinai.
Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy
tender mercies.
Answer me, O LORD, for Your loving devotion is good; turn to me in keeping with Your great
compassion.
May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.
In
Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in
Zion.
His
tent is in
Salem, His dwelling place in
Zion.
And
smote all the
firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of
Ham:
He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
He drove out nations before them and
apportioned their inheritance; He settled the tribes of Israel in their
tents.
So that he
forsook the tabernacle of
Shiloh, the
tent which he placed among men;
He abandoned the tabernacle of
Shiloh, the
tent He had pitched among men.
Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:
He rejected the tent of Joseph and refused the tribe of Ephraim.
From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
from
tending the ewes He brought him to be
shepherd of His people Jacob, of Israel His inheritance.
O remember not against us former
iniquities: let thy
tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
Do not hold past sins against us; let Your
compassion come quickly, for we are brought low.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a
doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the
tents of wickedness.
For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a
doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the
tents of the wicked.
The days of our years are
threescore years and
ten; and if by reason of strength they be
fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
The length of our days is seventy years— or eighty if we are strong— yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and
ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come
nigh thee.
Though a thousand may fall at your side, and
ten thousand at your right hand, no
harm will come near you.
There shall no evil
befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling.
no evil will
befall you, no plague will approach your
tent.
Upon an instrument of
ten strings, and upon the
psaltery; upon the
harp with a solemn sound.
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and
tender mercies;
who redeems your life from the Pit and crowns you with loving devotion and
compassion,
Who coverest
thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a
curtain:
He wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent,
They grumbled in their
tents and did not
listen to the voice of the LORD.
The voice of
rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth
valiantly.
Shouts of joy and salvation resound in the
tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the LORD performs with
valor!
Let thy
tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
May Your
compassion come to me, that I may live, for Your law is my delight.
Great are thy
tender mercies, O LORD:
quicken me according to thy judgments.
Great are Your
mercies, O LORD; revive me according to Your ordinances.
I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a
psaltery and an instrument of
ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
I will sing to You a new song, O God; on a
harp of
ten strings I will make music to You—
That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all manner of produce; our flocks will bring forth thousands, tens of thousands in our fields.
The LORD is good to all: and his
tender mercies are over all his works.
The LORD is good to all; His
compassion rests on all He has made.
For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
When I was a son to my father, tender and the only child of my mother,
The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
The labor of the righteous leads to life, but the gain of the wicked brings punishment.
As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
Genuine righteousness leads to life, but the pursuit of evil brings death.
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
One gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the
tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the
tender mercies of the wicked are only cruelty.
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall
flourish.
The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the
tent of the upright will
flourish.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips
tendeth only to
penury.
There is profit in all labor, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
The fear of the LORD
tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall
abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
The fear of the LORD leads to life, that one may rest content, without
visitation from
harm.
Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who looks after his master will be honored.
The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
When hay is removed and new growth appears and the grain from the hills is gathered,
Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.
Wisdom makes the wise man stronger than ten rulers in a city.
I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the
tents of
Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
I am dark, yet lovely, O daughters of Jerusalem, like the
tents of
Kedar, like the curtains of Solomon.
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the
shepherds’
tents.
If you do not know, O fairest of women, follow the tracks of the flock, and
graze your young goats near the
tents of the
shepherds.
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the
tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
The fig tree ripens its figs; the
blossoming vines spread their
fragrance. Arise, come away, my
darling; come away with me, my beautiful one.”
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that
spoil the vines: for our vines have
tender grapes.
Catch for us the foxes— the little foxes that ruin the vineyards— for our vineyards are in
bloom.
