Just balances, just weights, a just
ephah, and a just
hin, shall ye have: I am
the LORD your God, which brought you out of
the land of Egypt.
You shall maintain
honest scales and weights, an
honest ephah, and an
honest hin. I am
the LORD your God, who brought you out of
the land of Egypt.
Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
You must keep all My statutes and all My ordinances and follow them. I am the LORD.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Again, thou shalt say to
the children of Israel,
Whosoever he be of
the children of Israel, or of
the strangers that
sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto
Molech; he shall surely be put to death:
the people of
the land shall stone him with stones.
“Tell
the Israelites, ‘Any
Israelite or foreigner living in Israel who gives any of his children to
Molech must be put to death.
The people of
the land are to stone him.
And if
the people of
the land do any ways hide
their eyes from
the man, when he giveth of his seed unto
Molech, and kill him not:
And if
the people of
the land ever hide
their eyes and fail to put to death
the man who gives one of his children to
Molech,
Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a
whoring after him, to commit
whoredom with
Molech, from among
their people.
then I will set My face against that man and his family and cut off from among
their people both him and all who follow him in
prostituting themselves with
Molech.
And
the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after
them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to
prostitute himself with
them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.
And ye shall keep my statutes, and do
them: I am
the LORD which
sanctify you.
And you shall keep My statutes and practice them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
And
the man that committeth
adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth
adultery with his neighbour’s wife,
the adulterer and
the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness. Both must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.
If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both must surely be put to death.
They have acted
perversely;
their blood is upon
them.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of
them have committed an
abomination:
they shall surely be put to death;
their blood shall be upon
them.
If a man lies with a man as with a woman,
they have both committed an
abomination.
They must surely be put to death;
their blood is upon
them.
And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is
depraved. Both he and
they must be burned in
the fire, so that
there will be no
depravity among you.
And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall
slay the beast.
If a man lies
carnally with an animal, he must be put to death. And you are also to kill
the animal.
And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down
thereto, thou shalt kill
the woman, and
the beast:
they shall surely be put to death;
their blood shall be upon
them.
If a woman approaches any animal to
mate with it, you must kill both
the woman and
the animal.
They must surely be put to death;
their blood is upon
them.
And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
If a man marries his sister, whether the daughter of his father or of his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered the nakedness of his sister; he shall bear his iniquity.
And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
If a man lies with a
menstruating woman and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed
the source of her flow, and she has uncovered
the source of her blood. Both of
them must be cut off from among
their people.
And thou shalt not uncover
the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near
kin:
they shall bear
their iniquity.
You must not have sexual relations with
the sister of your mother or your father, for it is
exposing one’s own
kin; both shall bear
their iniquity.
And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.
If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered the nakedness of his uncle. They will bear their sin; they shall die childless.
And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.
If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity. He has uncovered the nakedness of his brother; they shall be childless.
Ye shall
therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do
them: that
the land,
whither I bring you to dwell
therein,
spue you not out.
You are
therefore to keep all My statutes and ordinances, so that
the land where I am bringing you to live will not
vomit you out.
And ye shall not walk in
the manners of
the nation, which I cast out before you: for
they committed all
these things, and
therefore I
abhorred them.
You must not follow
the statutes of
the nations I am driving out before you. Because
they did all
these things, I
abhorred them.
But I have said unto you, Ye shall
inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am
the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
But I have told you that you will
inherit their land, since I will give it to you as an inheritance—a land flowing with milk and honey. I am
the LORD your God, who has set you apart from
the peoples.
Ye shall
therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on
the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
You are
therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on
the ground; I have set
these apart as unclean for you.
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
You are to be holy to Me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be My own.
A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a
wizard, shall surely be put to death:
they shall stone
them with stones:
their blood shall be upon
them.
A man or a woman who is a medium or
spiritist must surely be put to death.
They shall be stoned;
their blood is upon
them.’”
And
the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto
the priests
the sons of Aaron, and say unto
them,
There shall none be
defiled for
the dead among his people:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron’s sons,
the priests, and tell
them that a priest is not to
defile himself for a dead person among his people,
They shall not make
baldness upon
their head, neither shall
they shave off
the corner of
their beard, nor make any cuttings in
their flesh.
Priests must not make
bald spots on
their heads,
shave off
the edges of
their beards, or make cuts in
their bodies.
They shall be holy unto
their God, and not
profane the name of
their God: for
the offerings of
the LORD made by fire, and
the bread of
their God,
they do offer:
therefore they shall be holy.
They must be holy to
their God and not
profane the name of
their God. Because
they present to
the LORD
the offerings made by fire,
the food of
their God,
they must be holy.
They shall not take a wife that is a
whore, or
profane; neither shall
they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.
Thou shalt
sanctify him
therefore; for he offereth
the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto
thee: for I
the LORD, which
sanctify you, am holy.
You are to regard him as holy, since he presents the food of your God. He shall be holy to you, because I the LORD am holy—I who set you apart.
And
the daughter of any priest, if she
profane herself by playing
the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by
prostituting herself, she profanes her father; she must be burned in
the fire.
And he that is
the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head
the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on
the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor
rend his clothes;
The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had
the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained to wear
the priestly garments, must not let his hair
hang loose or
tear his garments.
Neither shall he go out of
the sanctuary, nor
profane the sanctuary of his God; for
the crown of
the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am
the LORD.
The woman he marries must be a virgin.
A widow, or a
divorced woman, or
profane, or an
harlot,
these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.
Neither shall he
profane his seed among his people: for I
the LORD do
sanctify him.
so that he does not
defile his offspring among his people, for I am
the LORD who sanctifies him.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto Aaron, saying,
Whosoever he be of thy seed in
their generations that hath any
blemish, let him not approach to offer
the bread of his God.
“Say to Aaron, ‘For the generations to come, none of your descendants who has a physical defect may approach to offer the food of his God.
No man that hath a
blemish of
the seed of Aaron
the priest shall come
nigh to offer
the offerings of
the LORD made by fire: he hath a
blemish; he shall not come
nigh to offer
the bread of his God.
No
descendant of Aaron
the priest who has a defect shall approach to present
the offerings made by fire to
the LORD. Since he has a defect, he is not to come near to offer
the food of his God.
He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
He may eat the most holy food of his God as well as the holy food,
but because he has a defect, he must not go near
the veil or approach
the altar, so as not to
desecrate My
sanctuaries. For I am
the LORD who sanctifies
them.’”
And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.
Moses told this to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that
they separate
themselves from
the holy things of
the children of Israel, and that
they profane not my holy name in those things which
they hallow unto me: I am
the LORD.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect
the sacred offerings that
the Israelites have consecrated to Me, so that
they do not
profane My holy name. I am
the LORD.
Say unto
them,
Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto
the holy things, which
the children of Israel
hallow unto
the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am
the LORD.
Tell
them that for
the generations to come, if any of
their descendants in a state of uncleanness approaches
the sacred offerings that
the Israelites
consecrate to
the LORD, that person must be cut off from My presence. I am
the LORD.
What man
soever of
the seed of Aaron is a
leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of
the holy things, until he be clean. And
whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by
the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
Or
whosoever toucheth any
creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness,
whatsoever uncleanness he hath;
or
whoever touches a
crawling creature or a person that makes him unclean, whatever
the uncleanness may be—
The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.
When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the sacred offerings, for they are his food.
That which dieth of itself, or is
torn with beasts, he shall not eat to
defile himself
therewith: I am
the LORD.
He must not eat anything found dead or
torn by wild animals, which would make him unclean. I am
the LORD.
They shall
therefore keep mine
ordinance, lest
they bear sin for it, and die
therefore, if
they profane it: I
the LORD do
sanctify them.
The priests must keep My charge, lest
they bear
the guilt and die because
they profane it. I am
the LORD who sanctifies
them.
There shall no stranger eat of
the holy thing: a
sojourner of
the priest, or an
hired servant, shall not eat of
the holy thing.
No one outside a priest’s family may eat
the sacred offering, nor may
the guest of a priest or his
hired hand eat it.
But if
the priest
buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house:
they shall eat of his meat.
But if a priest buys a slave with his own money, or if a slave is born in his household, that slave may eat his food.
If the priest’s daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things.
If the priest’s daughter is married to a man other than a priest, she is not to eat of the sacred contributions.
But if
the priest’s daughter be a widow, or
divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but
there shall no stranger eat
thereof.
But if a priest’s daughter with no children becomes widowed or
divorced and returns to her father’s house, she may share her father’s food as in her youth. But no outsider may share it.
And if a man eat of
the holy thing
unwittingly,
then he shall put
the fifth part
thereof unto it, and shall give it unto
the priest with
the holy thing.
If
anyone eats a sacred offering in error, he must add a fifth to its value and give
the sacred offering to
the priest.
And
they shall not
profane the holy things of
the children of Israel, which
they offer unto
the LORD;
The priests must not
profane the sacred offerings that
the Israelites present to
the LORD
Or suffer
them to bear
the iniquity of
trespass, when
they eat
their holy things: for I
the LORD do
sanctify them.
by allowing the people to eat the sacred offerings and thus to bear the punishment for guilt. For I am the LORD who sanctifies them.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all
the children of Israel, and say unto
them,
Whatsoever he be of
the house of Israel, or of
the strangers in Israel, that will offer his
oblation for all his vows, and for all his
freewill offerings, which
they will offer unto
the LORD for a burnt offering;
“Speak to Aaron and his sons and all
the Israelites and tell
them, ‘Any man of
the house of Israel or any foreign resident who presents a gift for a burnt offering to
the LORD, whether to
fulfill a
vow or as a
freewill offering,
Ye shall offer at your own will a male without
blemish, of
the beeves, of
the sheep, or of
the goats.
must offer an
unblemished male from
the cattle, sheep, or goats in order for it to be accepted on your behalf.
When a man presents a peace offering to
the LORD from
the herd or flock to
fulfill a
vow or as a
freewill offering, it must be without
blemish or defect to be acceptable.
Blind, or broken, or
maimed, or having a
wen, or
scurvy, or
scabbed, ye shall not offer
these unto
the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of
them upon
the altar unto
the LORD.
You are not to present to
the LORD any animal that is blind, injured, or
maimed, or anything with a running
sore, a
festering rash, or a
scab; you must not put any of
these on
the altar as an offering made by fire to
the LORD.
Ye shall not offer unto
the LORD that which is
bruised, or
crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering
thereof in your land.
You are not to present to
the LORD an animal whose testicles are
bruised,
crushed,
torn, or cut; you are not to sacrifice
them in your land.
Neither from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer
the bread of your God of any of
these; because
their corruption is in
them, and
blemishes be in
them:
they shall not be accepted for you.
Neither you nor a foreigner shall present food to your God from any such animal.
They will not be accepted on your behalf, because
they are
deformed and
flawed.’”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
When a
bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth,
then it shall be seven days under
the dam; and from
the eighth day and
thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto
the LORD.
“When an ox, a sheep, or a goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And whether it be cow or
ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day.
But you must not slaughter an ox or a sheep on the same day as its young.
And when ye will offer a sacrifice of
thanksgiving unto
the LORD, offer it at your own will.
When you sacrifice a
thank offering to
the LORD, offer it so that it may be acceptable on your behalf.
On
the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until
the morrow: I am
the LORD.
It must be eaten that same day. Do not leave any of it until morning. I am the LORD.
Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD.
You are to keep My commandments and practice them. I am the LORD.
Neither shall ye
profane my holy name; but I will be
hallowed among
the children of Israel: I am
the LORD which
hallow you,
You must not
profane My holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy among
the Israelites. I am
the LORD who sanctifies you,
That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.
who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto
the children of Israel, and say unto
them, Concerning
the feasts of
the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be holy convocations, even
these are my feasts.
“Speak to
the Israelites and say to
them, ‘
These are My appointed feasts,
the feasts of
the LORD that you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies.
Six days shall work be done: but
the seventh day is
the sabbath of rest, an holy
convocation; ye shall do no work
therein: it is
the sabbath of
the LORD in all your dwellings.
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You must not do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD.
These are
the feasts of
the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall
proclaim in
their seasons.
These are
the LORD’s appointed feasts,
the sacred
assemblies you are to
proclaim at
their appointed times.
On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any regular work.
But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto
the LORD seven days: in
the seventh day is an holy
convocation: ye shall do no
servile work
therein.
For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the seventh day there shall be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.’”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto
the children of Israel, and say unto
them, When ye be come into
the land which I give unto you, and shall
reap the harvest
thereof,
then ye shall bring a
sheaf of
the firstfruits of your harvest unto
the priest:
“Speak to
the Israelites and say, ‘When you enter
the land that I am giving you and you
reap its harvest, you are to bring to
the priest a
sheaf of
the firstfruits of your harvest.
And he shall wave
the sheaf before
the LORD, to be accepted for you: on
the morrow after
the sabbath
the priest shall wave it.
And he shall wave
the sheaf before
the LORD so that it may be accepted on your behalf;
the priest is to wave it on
the day after
the Sabbath.
And ye shall offer that day when ye wave
the sheaf an he lamb without
blemish of
the first year for a burnt offering unto
the LORD.
On
the day you wave
the sheaf, you shall offer a year-old lamb without
blemish as a burnt offering to
the LORD,
And
the meat offering
thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto
the LORD for a sweet savour: and
the drink offering
thereof shall be of wine,
the fourth part of an
hin.
along with its grain offering of two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with oil—an offering made by fire to
the LORD, a pleasing
aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter
hin of wine.
And ye shall eat neither bread, nor
parched corn, nor green ears, until
the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
You must not eat any bread or
roasted or new grain until
the very day you have brought this offering to your God. This is to be a permanent statute for
the generations to come, wherever you live.
And ye shall count unto you from
the morrow after
the sabbath, from
the day that ye brought
the sheaf of
the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
From
the day after
the Sabbath,
the day you brought
the sheaf of
the wave offering, you are to count off seven full weeks.
Even unto
the morrow after
the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto
the LORD.
You shall count off fifty days until the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD.
Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave
loaves of two tenth deals:
they shall be of fine flour;
they shall be
baken with
leaven;
they are
the firstfruits unto
the LORD.
Bring two
loaves of bread from your dwellings as a wave offering, each made from two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour,
baked with
leaven, as
the firstfruits to
the LORD.
And ye shall offer with
the bread seven lambs without
blemish of
the first year, and one young
bullock, and two rams:
they shall be for a burnt offering unto
the LORD, with
their meat offering, and
their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto
the LORD.
Along with
the bread you are to present seven
unblemished male lambs a year old, one young bull, and two rams.
They will be a burnt offering to
the LORD, together with
their grain offerings and drink offerings—an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to
the LORD.
Then ye shall sacrifice one
kid of
the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of
the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
You shall also prepare one male goat as a sin offering and two male lambs a year old as a peace offering.
And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
The priest is to wave the lambs as a wave offering before the LORD, together with the bread of the firstfruits. The bread and the two lambs shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
And ye shall
proclaim on
the selfsame day, that it may be an holy
convocation unto you: ye shall do no
servile work
therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
On that same day you are to
proclaim a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live for
the generations to come.
And when ye
reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean
riddance of
the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any
gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave
them unto
the poor, and to
the stranger: I am
the LORD your God.
When you
reap the harvest of your land, do not
reap all
the way to
the edges of your field or gather
the gleanings of your harvest. Leave
them for
the poor and
the foreign resident. I am
the LORD your God.’”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
The LORD also said to Moses,
Speak unto
the children of Israel, saying, In
the seventh month, in
the first day of
the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a
memorial of blowing of
trumpets, an holy
convocation.
“Speak to
the Israelites and say, ‘On
the first day of
the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly
announced by
trumpet blasts.
Ye shall do no
servile work
therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto
the LORD.
You must not do any regular work, but you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD.’”
