Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
For I the LORD love judgment, I
hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in
truth, and I will make an
everlasting covenant with them.
That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall
bless himself in the God of
truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall
swear by the God of
truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are
hid from mine eyes.
Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the God of
truth, and
whoever takes an oath in the land will
swear by the God of
truth. For the former troubles will be forgotten and hidden from My sight.
And thou shalt
swear, The LORD liveth, in
truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall
bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
and if you can
swear, ‘As surely as the LORD lives,’ in
truth, in justice, and in righteousness, then the nations will be blessed by Him, and in Him they will glory.”
Run ye to and
fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the
truth; and I will
pardon it.
“Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem. Look now and take note; search her squares. If you can find a single person,
anyone who acts justly,
anyone who seeks the
truth, then I will
forgive the city.
O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the
truth? thou hast
stricken them, but they have not
grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
O LORD, do not Your eyes look for
truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain. You finished them off, but they refused to accept discipline. They have made their faces harder than stone and refused to
repent.
But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Therefore you must say to them, ‘This is the nation that would not
listen to the voice of the LORD their God and would not receive correction.
Truth has perished; it has disappeared from their lips.
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not
valiant for the
truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
“They bend their tongues like bows; lies prevail over truth in the land. For they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not take Me into account,” declares the LORD.
And they will
deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the
truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and
weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Each one betrays his friend; no one tells the
truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they wear themselves out
committing iniquity.
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the
chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Let the prophet who has a dream retell it, but let him who has My word speak it truthfully. For what is straw compared to grain?” declares the LORD.
But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon
yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a
truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
But know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood upon
yourselves, upon this city, and upon its residents; for truly the LORD has sent me to speak all these words in your hearing.”
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will
reveal unto them the abundance of peace and
truth.
Nevertheless, I will bring to it health and
healing, and I will
heal its people and
reveal to them the abundance of peace and
truth.
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a
truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a
revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldst
reveal this secret.
The king said to Daniel, “Your God is truly the God of gods and Lord of kings, the
Revealer of Mysteries, since you were able to
reveal this
mystery.”
Now I
Nebuchadnezzar praise and
extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are
truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to
abase.
Now I,
Nebuchadnezzar, praise and
exalt and
glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
I approached one of those who were standing there, and I asked him the true meaning of all this. So he told me the interpretation of these things:
Then I would know the
truth of the fourth beast, which was
diverse from all the others, exceeding
dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his
nails of brass; which
devoured,
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others—extremely
terrifying—
devouring and
crushing with iron teeth and bronze claws, then
trampling underfoot whatever was left.
And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of
transgression, and it cast down the
truth to the ground; and it practised, and
prospered.
And in the rebellion, the host and the daily sacrifice were given over to the horn, and it
flung truth to the ground and
prospered in whatever it did.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our
iniquities, and understand thy
truth.
Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this
disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our
iniquities and giving attention to Your
truth.
But I will
shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of
truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
But first I will tell you what is inscribed in the Book of Truth. Yet no one has the courage to support me against these, except Michael your prince.
And now will I
shew thee the
truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall
stir up all against the realm of
Grecia.
Now then, I will tell you the
truth: Three more kings will arise in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. By the power of his wealth, he will
stir up
everyone against the kingdom of Greece.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land!
Thou
wilt perform the
truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast
sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
You will show faithfulness to Jacob and loving devotion to Abraham, as You
swore to our fathers from the days of old.
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto
Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of
truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
This is what the LORD says: “I will return to
Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of
Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of Hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.”
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
I will bring them back to dwell in Jerusalem, where they will be My people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.”
These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the
truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of
truth and peace in your gates:
These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another, render true and sound judgments in your gates,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and
gladness, and
cheerful feasts; therefore love the
truth and peace.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the tenth months will become times of joy and
gladness,
cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore you are to love both
truth and peace.”
The law of
truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and
equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
True instruction was in his mouth, and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God!”
And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
“
Yes, Lord,” she said, “even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the
Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in
truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
They sent their disciples to Him along with the
Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and that You teach the way of God in accordance with the
truth. You seek favor from no one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.
But the woman fearing and
trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the
truth.
Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him
trembling in fear, and she told Him the whole
truth.
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
“Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and seek favor from no one. Indeed, You are impartial and teach the way of God in accordance with the
truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay them or not?”
And the
scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the
truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
“Right, Teacher,” the
scribe replied. “You have stated correctly that God is One and there is no other but Him,
But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
But I tell you
truthfully that there were many widows in Israel in the time of
Elijah, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and great famine swept over all the land.
But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
But I tell you truthfully, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”
Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
“Teacher,” they inquired, “we know that You speak and teach correctly. You show no
partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with the
truth.
And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
And about the space of one hour after another
confidently affirmed, saying, Of a
truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
About an hour later, another man insisted, “Certainly this man was with Him, for he too is a
Galilean.”
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
But
whoever practices the
truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
In fact, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. You have spoken truthfully.”
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
You have sent to John, and he has
testified to the
truth.
Then those men, when they had seen the
miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a
truth that prophet that should come into the world.
When the people saw the sign that Jesus had performed, they began to say, “Truly this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is a man of
truth; in Him there is no
falsehood.
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
On hearing these words, some of the people said, “This is truly the Prophet.”
I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
“I have much to say about you and much to judge. But the One who sent Me is truthful, and what I have heard from Him, I tell the world.”
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the
truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a
liar, and the father of it.
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to
uphold the
truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a
liar and the father of lies.
And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!
Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
Which of you can prove Me guilty of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Even the Spirit of
truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of
truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall
testify of me:
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of
truth who proceeds from the Father—He will
testify about Me.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will
shew you things to come.
However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.
Sanctify them through thy
truth: thy word is
truth.
Sanctify them by the
truth; Your word is
truth.
And for their sakes I
sanctify myself, that they also might be
sanctified through the
truth.
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the
truth. Every one that is of the
truth heareth my voice.
“Then You are a king!”
Pilate said. “You say that I am a king,” Jesus answered. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to
testify to the
truth.
Everyone who belongs to the
truth listens to My voice.”
Pilate saith unto him, What is
truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
“What is
truth?”
Pilate asked. And having said this, he went out again to the Jews and told them, “I find no basis for a charge against Him.
And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
The one who saw it has
testified to this, and his testimony is true. He knows that he is telling the
truth, so that you also may believe.
For of a
truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast
anointed, both Herod, and Pontius
Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
In fact, this is the very city where Herod and Pontius
Pilate conspired with the Gentiles and the people of Israel against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You
anointed.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show
favoritism,
Also of your own
selves shall men arise, speaking
perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Even from your own number, men will rise up and
distort the
truth to draw away disciples after them.
Them take, and
purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may
shave their heads: and all may know that those things,
whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou
thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
Take these men,
purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so they can have their heads
shaved. Then
everyone will know that there is no
truth to these rumors about you, but that you also live in obedience to the law.
And some
cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the
tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
Some in the crowd were
shouting one thing, and some another. And since the commander could not get at the
truth because of the
uproar, he ordered that Paul be brought into the
barracks.
Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom
thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things,
whereof we
accuse him.
By examining him
yourself, you will be able to learn the
truth about all our charges against him.”
For if I be an
offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things
whereof these
accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.
If, however, I am guilty of anything worthy of death, I do not refuse to die. But if there is no truth to their accusations against me, no one has the right to hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar!”
But he said, I am not
mad, most noble
Festus; but speak forth the words of
truth and
soberness.
But Paul answered, “I am not
insane, most excellent
Festus; I am speaking words of
truth and
sobriety.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness;
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the
godlessness and wickedness of men who
suppress the
truth by their wickedness.
Who changed the
truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the
Creator, who is blessed for ever.
Amen.
They exchanged the
truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the
Creator, who is
forever worthy of praise!
Amen.
But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
And we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.
But unto them that are
contentious, and do not obey the
truth, but obey unrighteousness,
indignation and wrath,
But for those who are self-seeking and who
reject the
truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger.
An
instructor of the
foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the
truth in the law.
For if the
truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a
sinner?
However, if my
falsehood accentuates God’s
truthfulness, to the increase of His glory, why am I still condemned as a
sinner?
I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
I speak the truth in Christ; I am not lying, as confirmed by my conscience in the Holy Spirit.
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the
circumcision for the
truth of God, to
confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the
circumcised on behalf of God’s
truth, to
confirm the promises made to the patriarchs,
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
and the secrets of his heart will be made known. So he will fall facedown and worship God,
proclaiming, “God is truly among you!”
Instead, we have
renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not practice
deceit, nor do we
distort the word of God. On the contrary, by open
proclamation of the
truth, we
commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
in truthful speech and in the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
For if I have
boasted any thing to him of you, I am not
ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in
truth, even so our
boasting, which I made before
Titus, is found a
truth.
Indeed, I was not
embarrassed by anything I had
boasted to him about you. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our
boasting to
Titus has proved to be true as well.
As the
truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this
boasting in the regions of
Achaia.
As surely as the
truth of Christ is in me, this
boasting of mine will not be silenced in the regions of
Achaia.
For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a
fool; for I will say the
truth: but now I
forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he
seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
Even if I wanted to
boast, I would not be a
fool, because I would be speaking the
truth. But I
refrain, so no one will credit me with more than he sees in me or hears from me,
For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.
To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the
truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a
Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
When I saw that they were not walking in line with the
truth of the gospel, I said to
Cephas in front of them all, “If you, who are a
Jew, live like a
Gentile and not like a
Jew, how can you
compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?”
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?
Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
You were running so well. Who has
obstructed you from obeying the
truth?
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him—in keeping with the truth that is in Jesus—
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Therefore each of you must put off
falsehood and speak
truthfully to his
neighbor, for we are all members of one another.
