The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.
You must deliver to the God of Jerusalem all the articles given to you for the service of the house of your God.
And
weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the
vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:
and I
weighed out to them the contribution of silver and gold and the articles that the king, his counselors, his leaders, and all the Israelites there had offered for the house of our God.
I even
weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver
vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
I
weighed out into their hands 650 talents of silver, articles of silver weighing 100 talents, 100 talents of gold,
Also twenty basons of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.
20 gold
bowls valued at 1,000 darics, and two articles of fine polished bronze, as precious as gold.
And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the
vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a
freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
Then I told them, “You are holy to the LORD, and these articles are holy. The silver and gold are a
freewill offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.
So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
So the priests and Levites took charge of the silver and gold and sacred articles that had been
weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.
Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the
vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was
Eleazar the son of
Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we
weighed out the silver and gold and sacred articles into the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest.
Eleazar son of
Phinehas was with him, along with the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.
For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the
vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the
porters, and the singers: and we will not
forsake the house of our God.
For the Israelites and the Levites are to bring the contributions of grain, new wine, and oil to the storerooms where the articles of the sanctuary are kept and where the ministering priests, the gatekeepers, and the singers stay. Thus we will not neglect the house of our God.”
And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where
aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the
frankincense, and the
vessels, and the
tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the
porters; and the offerings of the priests.
and had prepared for
Tobiah a large room where they had previously stored the grain offerings, the
frankincense, the temple articles, and the
tithes of grain, new wine, and oil prescribed for the Levites, singers, and gatekeepers, along with the contributions for the priests.
Then I commanded, and they
cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the
vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the
frankincense.
Then I ordered that the rooms be
purified, and I had the articles of the house of God restored to them, along with the grain offerings and
frankincense.
And they gave them drink in
vessels of gold, (the
vessels being
diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.
Beverages were served in an
array of goblets of gold, each with a different design, and the royal wine flowed freely, according to the king’s
bounty.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt
dash them in pieces like a
potter’s
vessel.
You will break them with an iron
scepter; You will
shatter them like pottery.”
I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind. I am like a broken vessel.
Take away the
dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a
vessel for the finer.
Remove the
dross from the silver, and a
vessel for a
silversmith will come forth.
Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a
potsherd covered with silver
dross.
Like
glaze covering an
earthen vessel are burning lips and a wicked heart.
And upon all the ships of
Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
against every ship of
Tarshish, and against every stately
vessel.
That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in
vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and
peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and
trodden down, whose land the rivers have
spoiled!
which sends couriers by sea, in
papyrus vessels on the waters. Go, swift messengers, to a people tall and smooth-
skinned, to a people widely feared, to a powerful nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers.
And they shall
hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all
vessels of small quantity, from the
vessels of cups, even to all the
vessels of flagons.
So they will
hang on him all the glory of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the lesser
vessels, from
bowls to every kind of
jar.
And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’
vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not
spare: so that there shall not be found in the
bursting of it a
sherd to take fire from the
hearth, or to take water
withal out of the pit.
But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no
galley with oars, neither shall
gallant ship pass thereby.
But there the
Majestic One, our LORD, will be for us a place of rivers and wide canals, where no
galley with oars will row, and no
majestic vessel will pass.
Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing; come out from it,
purify yourselves, you who carry the
vessels of the LORD.
Which remain among the graves, and
lodge in the monuments, which eat
swine’s flesh, and
broth of
abominable things is in their
vessels;
And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in
chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean
vessel into the house of the LORD.
And they will bring all your brothers from all the nations as a gift to the LORD on horses and
chariots and wagons, on mules and camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “just as the Israelites bring an offering in a clean
vessel to the house of the LORD.”
And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their
vessels empty; they were
ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.
The nobles send their servants for water; they go to the cisterns, but find no water; their jars return empty. They are
ashamed and
humiliated; they cover their heads.
And the
vessel that he made of clay was
marred in the hand of the
potter: so he made it again another
vessel, as seemed good to the
potter to make it.
But the
vessel that he was shaping from the clay became
flawed in his hand; so he formed it into another
vessel, as it seemed best for him to do.
And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a
potter’s
vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall
bury them in
Tophet, till there be no place to
bury.
and you are to
proclaim to them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: I will
shatter this nation and this city, like one
shatters a
potter’s
jar that can never again be repaired. They will
bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room to
bury them.
Is this man Coniah a
despised broken
idol? is he a
vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
Is this man Coniah a
despised and
shattered pot, a
jar that no one wants? Why are he and his descendants
hurled out and cast into a land they do not know?
Howl, ye
shepherds, and cry; and
wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant
vessel.
Wail, you
shepherds, and cry out; roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock. For the days of your slaughter have come; you will fall and be
shattered like fine pottery.
Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD;
Hearken not to the words of your prophets that
prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the
vessels of the LORD’S house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they
prophesy a lie unto you.
Then I said to the priests and to all this people, “This is what the LORD says: Do not
listen to the words of your prophets who
prophesy to you, saying, ‘Look, very soon now the articles from the house of the LORD will be brought back from Babylon.’ They are
prophesying to you a lie.
But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make
intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the
vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
If they are indeed prophets and the word of the LORD is with them, let them now
plead with the LORD of Hosts that the articles remaining in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, not be taken to Babylon.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city,
For this is what the LORD of Hosts says about the pillars, the sea, the bases, and the rest of the articles that remain in this city,
Yea, thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the
vessels that remain in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;
Yes, this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says about the articles that remain in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem:
Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the
vessels of the LORD’S house, that
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
Within two years I will restore to this place all the articles of the house of the LORD that
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and carried to Babylon.
Even the prophet Jeremiah said,
Amen: the LORD do so: the LORD perform thy words which thou hast
prophesied, to bring again the
vessels of the LORD’S house, and all that is carried away
captive, from Babylon into this place.
“
Amen!” Jeremiah said. “May the LORD do so! May the LORD
fulfill the words you have
prophesied, and may He restore the articles of His house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an
earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Take these deeds—both the sealed copy and the open copy of the deed of purchase—and put them in a clay
jar to preserve them for a long time.
As for me, behold, I will dwell at
Mizpah to serve the Chaldeans, which will come unto us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your
vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.
As for me, I will stay in
Mizpah to represent you before the Chaldeans who come to us. As for you, gather wine grapes, summer fruit, and oil, place them in your
storage jars, and live in the cities you have taken.”
Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his
lees, and hath not been
emptied from
vessel to
vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his
scent is not changed.
Moab has been at ease from youth, settled like wine on its
dregs; he has not been poured from
vessel to
vessel or gone into exile. So his
flavor has remained the same, and his
aroma is unchanged.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to
wander, and shall empty his
vessels, and break their bottles.
Therefore behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will send to him wanderers, who will pour him out. They will empty his
vessels and
shatter his jars.
There shall be
lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a
vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
On all the rooftops of Moab and in the public squares,
everyone is
mourning; for I have
shattered Moab like an unwanted
jar,” declares the LORD.
Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
They will take their tents and flocks, their tent curtains and all their goods. They will take their camels for themselves. They will
shout to them: ‘Terror is on every side!’
Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath
devoured me, he hath
crushed me, he hath made me an empty
vessel, he hath
swallowed me up like a
dragon, he hath filled his
belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.
The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the
snuffers, and the
bowls, and the spoons, and all the
vessels of brass
wherewith they ministered, took they away.
They also took away the pots, shovels,
wick trimmers,
sprinkling bowls, dishes, and all the articles of bronze used in the temple service.
The two pillars, one sea, and twelve
brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these
vessels was without weight.
As for the two pillars, the Sea, the twelve bronze bulls under it, and the movable stands that King Solomon had made for the house of the LORD, the weight of the bronze from all these articles was beyond measure.
Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and
millet, and
fitches, and put them in one
vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and
ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
But take wheat, barley, beans, lentils,
millet, and
spelt; put them in a single container and make them into bread for
yourself. This is what you are to eat during the 390 days you lie on your side.
Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to
hang any
vessel thereon?
Can wood be taken from it to make something useful? Or can one make from it a
peg on which to
hang utensils?
Javan,
Tubal, and
Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and
vessels of brass in thy market.
And the Lord gave
Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the
vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of
Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the
vessels into the
treasure house of his god.
And the Lord delivered into his hand
Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with some of the articles from the house of God. He carried these off to the land of
Shinar, to the house of his god, where he put them in the treasury of his god.
Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver
vessels which his father
Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
Under the influence of the wine,
Belshazzar gave orders to bring in the gold and silver
vessels that
Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king could drink from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
Then they brought the golden
vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines,
drank in them.
Thus they brought in the gold
vessels that had been taken from the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king
drank from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the
vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The
vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
And shall also carry
captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious
vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
He will take even their gods
captive to Egypt, with their metal images and their precious
vessels of silver and gold. For some years he will stay away from the king of the North,
Israel is
swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a
vessel wherein is no pleasure.
Israel is
swallowed up! Now they are among the nations like a worthless
vessel.
Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall
spoil the
treasure of all pleasant
vessels.
Although he
flourishes among his brothers, an east wind will come— a wind from the LORD rising up from the desert. His fountain will fail, and his spring will run dry. The wind will
plunder his treasury of every precious article.
Then the mariners were afraid, and
cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to
lighten it of them. But
Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast
asleep.
The sailors were afraid, and each
cried out to his own god. And they threw the ship’s
cargo into the sea to
lighten the load. But
Jonah had gone down to the lowest part of the
vessel, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
Since those days were, when one came to an
heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty
vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
from that time, when one came expecting a
heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.
Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
When it was full, the men pulled it
ashore. Then they sat down and sorted the good fish into containers, but threw the bad away.
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
But the wise ones took oil in flasks along with their lamps.
And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots,
brasen vessels, and of tables.
And on returning from the market, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions for them to observe, including the washing of cups, pitchers, kettles, and couches for
dining.
And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
No man, when he hath lighted a
candle, covereth it with a
vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a
candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
No one lights a lamp and covers it with a
jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he sets it on a stand, so those who enter can see the light.
Now there was set a
vessel full of
vinegar: and they filled a
spunge with
vinegar, and put it upon
hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
“Go!” said the Lord. “This man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the people of Israel.
And saw heaven opened, and a certain
vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet
knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
He saw heaven open and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
This was done
thrice: and the
vessel was received up again into heaven.
This happened three times, and all at once the sheet was taken back up into heaven.
I was in the city of
Joppa praying: and in a
trance I saw a vision, A certain
vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
“I was in the city of
Joppa praying, and in a
trance I saw a vision of something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came right down to me.
And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship
aground; and the
forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
But the
vessel struck a sandbar and ran
aground. The bow
stuck fast and would not move, and the stern was being broken up by the pounding of the waves.
Hath not the
potter power over the clay, of the same
lump to make one
vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Does not the
potter have the right to make from the same
lump of clay one
vessel for special occasions and another for common use?
What if God, willing to
shew his wrath, and to make his power known,
endured with much
longsuffering the
vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
What if God, intending to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great
patience the
vessels of His wrath, prepared for destruction?
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the
vessels of mercy, which he had
afore prepared unto glory,
What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the vessels of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory—
Now we have this
treasure in jars of clay to show that this
surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.
That every one of you should know how to possess his
vessel in
sanctification and honour;
each of you must know how to control his own body in
holiness and honor,
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
A large house contains not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay. Some indeed are for honorable use, but others are for common use.
If a man therefore
purge himself from these, he shall be a
vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
So if
anyone cleanses himself of what is unfit, he will be a
vessel for honor:
sanctified, useful to the Master, and prepared for every good work.
Moreover he
sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the
vessels of the ministry.
In the same way, he
sprinkled with blood the tabernacle and all the
vessels used in worship.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate
vessel, and with honor as fellow heirs of the
gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the
vessels of a
potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
He will rule them with an iron
scepter and
shatter them like pottery—just as I have received authority from My Father.
The
merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner
vessels of ivory, and all manner
vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of
citron wood and every article of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
Nabuchodonosor also took of the holy vessels of the Lord, and carried them away, and set them in his own temple at Babylon.
So after a year Nabuchodonosor sent and caused him to be brought into Babylon with the holy vessels of the Lord;
And they took all the holy vessels of the Lord, both great and small, with the vessels of the ark of God, and the king’s treasures, and carried them away into Babylon.
King Cyrus also brought forth the holy vessels, which Nabuchodonosor had carried away from Jerusalem, and had set up in his temple of idols.
And this was the number of them; A thousand golden cups, and a thousand of silver, censers of silver twenty nine, vials of gold thirty, and of silver two thousand four hundred and ten, and a thousand other vessels.
So all the
vessels of gold and of silver, which were carried away, were five thousand four hundred
threescore and nine.
And to send away all the
vessels that were taken away out of Jerusalem, which Cyrus set apart, when he
vowed to destroy Babylon, and to send them again thither.
He sent away also all the vessels from Babylon, that Cyrus had set apart; and all that Cyrus had given in commandment, the same charged he also to be done, and sent unto Jerusalem.
And the holy vessels of gold and of silver, that Nabuchodonosor had carried away out of the house at Jerusalem, and had set them in his own temple those Cyrus the king brought forth again out of the temple at Babylon, and they were delivered to Zorobabel and to Sanabassarus the ruler,
With commandment that he should carry away the same vessels, and put them in the temple at Jerusalem; and that the temple of the Lord should be built in his place.
And that the holy vessels of the house of the Lord, both of gold and silver, that Nabuchodonosor took out of the house at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, should be restored to the house at Jerusalem, and be set in the place where they were before.
And the holy vessels of the Lord, which are given thee for the use of the temple of thy God, which is in Jerusalem, thou shalt set before thy God in Jerusalem.
And I
weighed them the gold, and the silver, and the holy
vessels of the house of our Lord, which the king, and his council, and the princes, and all Israel, had given.
And when I had
weighed it, I delivered unto them six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver
vessels of an hundred talents, and an hundred talents of gold,
And twenty golden
vessels, and twelve
vessels of brass, even of fine brass,
glittering like gold.
And I said unto them, Both ye are holy unto the Lord, and the
vessels are holy, and the gold and the silver is a
vow unto the Lord, the Lord of our fathers.
So the priests and the Levites, who had received the silver and the gold and the vessels, brought them unto Jerusalem, into the temple of the Lord.
How should thy
vessel then be able to
comprehend the way of the Highest, and, the world being now outwardly corrupted to understand the corruption that is evident in my sight?
As for the other people, which also come of Adam, thou hast said that they are nothing, but be like unto
spittle: and hast
likened the abundance of them unto a drop that falleth from a
vessel.
I will tell thee a
similitude,
Esdras; As when thou askest the earth, it shall say unto thee, that it giveth much mould
whereof earthen vessels are made, but little dust that gold cometh of: even so is the course of this present world.
And, lo, it is a custom, when the ground hath received seed, or the sea a ship, or any vessel meat or drink, that, that being perished wherein it was sown or cast into,
For they were newly returned from the captivity, and all the people of
Judea were lately gathered together: and the
vessels, and the altar, and the house, were
sanctified after the
profanation.
Thus all the company of Assur remained about them, both their
footmen,
chariots, and
horsemen, four and thirty days, so that all their
vessels of water failed all the inhibitants of Bethulia.
