And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look
was more
stout than his fellows.
I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn whose appearance
was more imposing than the others, with eyes and with a mouth that spoke words of
arrogance.
I
beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
As I watched, this horn
was waging war against the saints and prevailing against them,
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
until the Ancient of Days arrived and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for them to possess the kingdom.
And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I
was at
Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of
Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I
was by the river of Ulai.
And in the vision I saw myself in the citadel of
Susa, in the province of
Elam. I saw in the vision that I
was beside the Ulai Canal.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw a ram with two horns standing beside the canal. The horns were long, but one was longer than the other, and the longer one grew up later.
I saw the ram
pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither
was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
I saw the ram charging toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against him, and there
was no
deliverance from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.
And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
As I
was contemplating all this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between his eyes came out of the west, crossing the surface of the entire earth without touching the ground.
And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he
was moved with
choler against him, and
smote the ram, and
brake his two horns: and there
was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there
was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
I saw him approach the ram in a
rage against him, and he struck the ram and
shattered his two horns. The ram
was powerless to stand against him, and the goat threw him to the ground and
trampled him, and no one could deliver the ram from his power.
Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Thus the goat became very great, but at the height of his power, his large horn was broken off, and four prominent horns came up in its place, pointing toward the four winds of heaven.
Yea, he
magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice
was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary
was cast down.
It
magnified itself, even to the Prince of the host; it removed His daily sacrifice and overthrew the place of His sanctuary.
And an host
was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of
transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and
prospered.
And in the rebellion, the host and the daily sacrifice were given over to the horn, and it
flung truth to the ground and
prospered in whatever it did.
And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.
So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
As he came near to where I stood, I
was terrified and fell facedown. “Son of man,” he said to me, “understand that the vision concerns the time of the end.”
Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
While he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep, with my face to the ground. Then he touched me, helped me to my feet,
And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
The vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been spoken is true. Now you must seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.”
And I Daniel
fainted, and
was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I
was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
I, Daniel, was exhausted and lay ill for days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business. I was confounded by the vision; it was beyond understanding.
In the first year of
Darius the son of
Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which
was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
In the first year of
Darius son of
Xerxes, a
Mede by descent, who
was made ruler over the kingdom of the Chaldeans—
And whiles I
was speaking, and praying, and
confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my
supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
While I
was speaking, praying,
confessing my sin and that of my people Israel, and presenting my petition before the LORD my God concerning His holy mountain—
Yea, whiles I
was speaking in prayer, even the man
Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening
oblation.
while I
was still praying,
Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, and it concerned a great conflict. And the understanding of the message was given to him in a vision.
In those days I Daniel
was mourning three full weeks.
In those days I, Daniel,
was mourning for three full weeks.
And in the four and
twentieth day of the first month, as I
was by the side of the great river, which is
Hiddekel;
On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I
was standing on the bank of the great river, the
Tigris,
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were
girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
I lifted up my eyes, and behold, there
was a certain man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his
waist.
His body also
was like the
beryl, and his face as the appearance of
lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
His body
was like
beryl, his face like the brilliance of
lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the
gleam of polished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
Therefore I
was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my
comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
So I
was left alone,
gazing at this great vision. No strength remained in me; my face grew deathly pale, and I
was powerless.
Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
I heard the sound of his words, and as I
listened, I fell into a deep sleep, with my face to the ground.
And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became
dumb.
While he was speaking these words to me, I set my face toward the ground and became speechless.
And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong,
yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I
was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
“Do not be afraid, you who are highly precious,” he said. “Peace be with you! Be strong now; be very strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
“At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—
everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who
was above the waters of the river, “How long until the
fulfillment of these wonders?”
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which
was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and
sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to
scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
And the man dressed in linen, who
was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him
swear by Him who lives
forever, saying, “It will be for a time, and times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has finally been
shattered, all these things will be completed.”
Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’
Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she
was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and
slay her with
thirst.
Otherwise, I will strip her naked and
expose her like the day of her birth. I will make her like a desert and turn her into a
parched land, and I will let her die of
thirst.
And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
She will pursue her lovers but not catch them; she will seek them but not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will return to my first husband, for then I was better off than now.’
For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for
Baal.
For she does not acknowledge that it
was I who gave her grain, new wine, and oil, who
lavished on her silver and gold— which they crafted for
Baal.
Therefore shall the land
mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall
languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven;
yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.
Ephraim shall be
desolate in the day of
rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
Ephraim will be laid
waste on the day of
rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel I
proclaim what is certain.
When I would have
healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim
was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit
falsehood; and the
thief cometh in, and the
troop of robbers spoileth without.
When I
heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim will be exposed, as well as the crimes of Samaria. For they practice
deceit and
thieves break in;
bandits raid in the streets.
For from Israel
was it also: the
workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the
calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
For this thing is from Israel— a
craftsman made it, and it is not God. It will be broken to pieces, that
calf of Samaria.
The
watchman of Ephraim
was with my God: but the prophet is a
snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
The prophet is Ephraim’s
watchman, along with my God, yet the
snare of the fowler lies on all his paths. Hostility is in the house of his God!
Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
Israel
was a
luxuriant vine, yielding fruit for himself. The more his fruit increased, the more he increased the altars. The better his land produced, the better he made the sacred pillars.
Therefore shall a
tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be
spoiled, as Shalman
spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother
was dashed in pieces upon her children.
the
roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be
demolished as Shalman
devastated Beth-arbel in the day of battle, when mothers were
dashed to pieces along with their children.
When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I
healed them.
It
was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them in My arms, but they never realized that it
was I who
healed them.
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
I led them with cords of kindness, with ropes of love; I lifted the yoke from their necks and bent down to feed them.
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
But by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.
According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart
was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
When they had pasture, they became satisfied; when they were satisfied, their hearts became proud, and as a result they
forgot Me.
He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
It has laid
waste My
grapevine and
splintered My fig tree. It has
stripped off the bark and thrown it away; the branches have turned white.
The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
The field is ruined; the land mourns. For the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, and the oil fails.
A day of darkness and of
gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
a day of darkness and
gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like the
dawn overspreading the mountains a great and strong army appears, such as never
was of old, nor will ever be in ages to come.
A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of
Eden before them, and behind them a
desolate wilderness;
yea, and nothing shall escape them.
Before them a fire devours, and behind them a flame scorches. The land before them is like the Garden of
Eden, but behind them, it is like a desert
wasteland— surely nothing will escape them.
Egypt shall be a
desolation, and
Edom shall be a
desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Egypt will become
desolate, and
Edom a desert
wasteland, because of the violence done to the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood.
The words of
Amos, who
was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of
Jeroboam the son of
Joash king of Israel, two years before the
earthquake.
These are the words of
Amos, who
was among the sheepherders of Tekoa—what he saw concerning Israel two years before the
earthquake, in the days when Uzziah
was king of Judah and
Jeroboam son of Jehoash
was king of Israel.
Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, though his height was like that of the cedars, and he was as strong as the oaks. Yet I destroyed his fruit above and his roots below.
And also I have
withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece
was rained upon, and the piece
whereupon it rained not
withered.
“I also
withheld the rain from you when the harvest
was three months away. I sent rain on one city but
withheld it from another. One field received rain; another without rain
withered.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to
contend by fire, and it
devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.
This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD
was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and
devoured the land.
Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.
This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord
was standing by a wall true to
plumb, with a
plumb line in His hand.
And the high places of Isaac shall be
desolate, and the
sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid
waste; and I will rise against the house of
Jeroboam with the sword.
The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the
sanctuaries of Israel will be laid
waste; and I will rise up against the house of
Jeroboam with My sword.”
Then answered
Amos, and said to
Amaziah, I
was no prophet, neither
was I a prophet’s son; but I
was an
herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
“I
was not a prophet,”
Amos replied, “nor
was I the son of a prophet; rather, I
was a
herdsman and a tender of
sycamore-fig trees.
And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
I will restore My people Israel from captivity; they will rebuild and inhabit the ruined cities. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away
captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou
wast as one of them.
On the day you stood
aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gate and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were just like one of them.
But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there
was a mighty
tempest in the sea, so that the ship
was like to be broken.
Then the LORD
hurled a great wind upon the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship
was in danger of breaking apart.
Then the mariners were afraid, and
cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to
lighten it of them. But
Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and
was fast
asleep.
The sailors were afraid, and each
cried out to his own god. And they threw the ship’s
cargo into the sea to
lighten the load. But
Jonah had gone down to the lowest part of the vessel, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.
Then the men were even more afraid and said to him, “What have you done?” The men knew that he
was fleeing from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.
Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and
was tempestuous.
Now the sea
was growing worse and worse, so they said to
Jonah, “What must we do to you to calm this sea for us?”
Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and
was tempestuous against them.
Nevertheless, the men rowed hard to get back to dry land, but they could not, for the sea
was raging against them more and more.
Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to
swallow up
Jonah. And
Jonah was in the
belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Now the LORD had appointed a great fish to
swallow Jonah, and
Jonah spent three days and three nights in the
belly of the fish.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me
barred me in
forever! But You raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!
When my soul
fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
As my life
was fading away, I remembered the LORD. My prayer went up to You, to Your holy temple.
So
Jonah arose, and went unto
Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now
Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.
This time
Jonah got up and went to
Nineveh, in accordance with the word of the LORD. Now
Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, requiring a three-day journey.
But it displeased
Jonah exceedingly, and he
was very
angry.
Jonah, however,
was greatly displeased, and he became
angry.
And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD,
was not this my saying, when I
was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto
Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a
gracious God, and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
So he prayed to the LORD, saying, “O LORD, is this not what I said while I
was still in my own country? This is why I
was so quick to
flee toward
Tarshish. I knew that You are a
gracious and
compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion—One who relents from sending
disaster.
And the LORD God prepared a
gourd, and made it to come up over
Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So
Jonah was exceeding
glad of the
gourd.
So the LORD God appointed a vine, and it grew up to provide shade over
Jonah’s head to ease his discomfort, and
Jonah was greatly pleased with the plant.
And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a
vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of
Jonah, that he
fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
As the sun
was rising, God appointed a
scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on
Jonah’s head so that he grew
faint and wished to die, saying, “It is better for me to die than to live.”
And I will make her that
halted a
remnant, and her that
was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount
Zion from henceforth, even for ever.
And I will make the
lame into a
remnant, and the outcast into a strong nation. Then the LORD will rule over them in Mount
Zion from that day and
forever.
And they shall
waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of
Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
And they will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of
Nimrod with the
blade drawn. So He will deliver us when Assyria invades our land and marches into our borders.
For the LORD will restore the
splendor of Jacob like the
splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them
waste and ruined the branches of their vine.
She is empty, and void, and
waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees
smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall
flee from thee, and say,
Nineveh is laid
waste: who will
bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Art thou better than
populous No, that
was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose
rampart was the sea, and her wall
was from the sea?
Are you better than
Thebes, stationed by the Nile with water around her, whose
rampart was the sea, whose wall
was the water?
Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it
was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
Cush and Egypt were her boundless strength; Put and
Libya were her allies.
Yet
was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were
dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
Yet she became an exile; she went into captivity. Her infants were
dashed to pieces at the head of every street. They cast lots for her
dignitaries, and all her nobles were bound in chains.
O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
O LORD, I have heard the report of You; I stand in
awe, O LORD, of Your deeds. Revive them in these years; make them known in these years. In Your wrath, remember mercy!
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount
Paran.
Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth
was full of his praise.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount
Paran.
Selah His glory covered the heavens, and His praise filled the earth.
And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.
Was the LORD displeased against the rivers?
was thine anger against the rivers?
was thy wrath against the sea, that thou
didst ride upon thine horses and thy
chariots of salvation?
Were You
angry at the rivers, O LORD?
Was Your wrath against the streams? Did You
rage against the sea when You
rode on Your horses, on Your
chariots of salvation?
Thy bow
was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word.
Selah. Thou
didst cleave the earth with rivers.
You
brandished Your bow; You called for many arrows.
Selah You split the earth with rivers.
With his own
spear You pierced his head, when his warriors stormed out to
scatter us,
gloating as though ready to secretly
devour the weak.
Therefore their goods shall become a
booty, and their houses a
desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
Their wealth will be
plundered and their houses laid
waste. They will build houses but not inhabit them, and plant vineyards but never drink their wine.
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of
wasteness and
desolation, a day of darkness and
gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
That day will be a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and
desolation, a day of darkness and
gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,
Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as
Sodom, and the children of
Ammon as
Gomorrah, even the breeding of
nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual
desolation: the residue of my people shall
spoil them, and the
remnant of my people shall possess them.
Therefore, as surely as I live,” declares the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, “surely Moab will be like
Sodom and the
Ammonites like
Gomorrah— a place of weeds and salt pits, a perpetual
wasteland. The
remnant of My people will
plunder them; the remainder of My nation will dispossess them.”
I have cut off the nations: their towers are
desolate; I made their streets
waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
“I have cut off the nations; their corner towers are destroyed. I have made their streets deserted with no one to pass through. Their cities are laid waste, with no man, no inhabitant.
I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
“I will gather those among you who
grieve over the appointed feasts, so that you will no longer suffer reproach.
Behold, at that time I will
undo all that
afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that
was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
Behold, at that time, I will deal with all who
afflict you. I will save the
lame and gather the scattered; and I will
appoint praise and fame for the disgraced throughout the earth.
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
“Is it a time for you
