And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.
So Moses went out and relayed to the people the words of the LORD, and he gathered seventy of the elders of the people and had them stand around the tent.
But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was
Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but
went not out unto the tabernacle: and they
prophesied in the camp.
Two men, however, had remained in the camp—one named
Eldad and the other Medad—and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those listed, but they had not gone out to the tent, and they
prophesied in the camp.
And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
Now a wind sent by the LORD came up, drove in
quail from the sea, and brought them near the camp, about two cubits above the surface of the ground, for a day’s journey in every direction around the camp.
And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto
Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and
Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three
went out,
So they
went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to
Hamath.
So they
went up and
spied out the land from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo-
hamath.
And they ascended by the south, and came unto
Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of
Anak, were. (Now
Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

went up through the Negev and came to
Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of
Anak, dwelled. It had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.

went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of
Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
and they
went back to Moses, Aaron, and the whole congregation of Israel in the Wilderness of
Paran at Kadesh. They brought back a report for the whole congregation and showed them the fruit of the land.
And they told him, and said, We came unto the land
whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
And they gave this account to Moses: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and indeed, it is flowing with milk and honey. Here is some of its fruit!
But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
But the men who had gone up with him replied, “We cannot go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are!”
But my servant
Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land
whereinto he
went; and his seed shall possess it.
But because My servant
Caleb has a different spirit and has followed Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he has entered, and his descendants will
inherit it.
But Joshua the son of
Nun, and
Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that
went to search the land, lived still.
Of those men who had gone to
spy out the land, only Joshua son of
Nun and
Caleb son of Jephunneh remained alive.
And they rose up early in the morning, and
gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have
sinned.
Early the next morning they got up and
went up toward the ridge of the hill country. “We have indeed
sinned,” they said, “but we will go to the place the LORD has promised.”
And Moses rose up and
went unto Dathan and
Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
So Moses got up and
went to Dathan and
Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him.
They, and all that
appertained to them,
went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
They
went down alive into
Sheol with all they owned. The earth closed over them, and they
vanished from the assembly.
And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
Then Moses and Aaron went to the front of the Tent of Meeting,
And it came to pass, that on the
morrow Moses
went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was
budded, and brought forth buds, and
bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had
sprouted, put forth buds,
blossomed, and produced almonds.
And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. They fell facedown, and the glory of the LORD appeared to them.
How our fathers
went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians
vexed us, and our fathers:
how our fathers went down to Egypt, where we lived many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our fathers,
And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they
went up into mount
Hor in the sight of all the congregation.
So Moses did as the LORD had commanded, and they
climbed Mount
Hor in the sight of the whole congregation.
And from thence they
went to Beer: that is the well
whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.
From there they went on to Beer, the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people so that I may give them water.”
The princes
digged the well, the nobles of the people
digged it, by the direction of the
lawgiver, with their
staves. And from the wilderness they
went to Mattanah:
The princes
dug the well; the nobles of the people hollowed it out with their scepters and with their staffs.” From the wilderness the Israelites
went on to Mattanah,
And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. Instead, he gathered his whole army and
went out to
confront Israel in the wilderness. When he came to Jahaz, he fought against Israel.
For there is a fire gone out of
Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of
Arnon.
For a fire
went out from
Heshbon, a
blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of
Arnon’s heights.
And they turned and
went up by the way of
Bashan: and
Og the king of
Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.
Then they turned and
went up the road to
Bashan, and
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army came out to meet them in battle at Edrei.
And the princes of Moab rose up, and they
went unto Balak, and said,
Balaam refuseth to come with us.
And the princes of Moab arose, returned to Balak, and said, “
Balaam refused to come with us.”
And
Balaam rose up in the morning, and
saddled his
ass, and
went with the princes of Moab.
And God’s anger was
kindled because he
went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an
adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his
ass, and his two servants were with him.
Then God’s anger was
kindled because
Balaam was going along, and the angel of the LORD stood in the road to
oppose him.
Balaam was riding his
donkey, and his two servants were with him.
And the
ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the
ass turned aside out of the way, and
went into the field: and
Balaam smote the
ass, to turn her into the way.
When the
donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, she turned off the path and
went into a field. So
Balaam beat her to return her to the path.
And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
And the angel of the LORD moved on
ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn to the right or left.
And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou
smitten thine
ass these three times? behold, I
went out to
withstand thee, because thy way is
perverse before me:
The angel of the LORD asked him, “Why have you beaten your
donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to
oppose you, because your way is
perverse before me.
And the angel of the LORD said unto
Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So
Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
But the angel of the LORD said to
Balaam, “Go with the men, but you are to speak only what I tell you.” So
Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
And when Balak heard that
Balaam was come, he
went out to meet him unto a city of Moab, which is in the border of
Arnon, which is in the utmost coast.
When Balak heard that
Balaam was coming, he
went out to meet him at the
Moabite city on the
Arnon border, at the edge of his territory.
And
Balaam went with Balak, and they came unto Kirjath-huzoth.
So
Balaam accompanied Balak, and they came to Kiriath-huzoth.
And
Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go:
peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and
whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he
went to an high place.
“Stay here by your burnt offering while I am gone,”
Balaam said to Balak. “Perhaps the LORD will meet with me. And whatever He reveals to me, I will tell you.” So
Balaam went off to a barren height,
And when
Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to
bless Israel, he
went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
And when
Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to
bless Israel, he did not resort to
sorcery as on previous occasions, but he turned his face toward the wilderness.
And
Balaam rose up, and
went and returned to his place: and Balak also
went his way.
Then
Balaam arose and returned to his homeland, and Balak also
went on his way.
And he
went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her
belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
followed the
Israelite into his tent, and drove the
spear through both of them—through the
Israelite and on through the
belly of the woman. So the plague against the Israelites was
halted,
Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
“Take a census of the men twenty years of age or older, as the LORD has commanded Moses.” And these were the Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt:
And Moses, and
Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation,
went forth to meet them without the camp.
And Moses,
Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation
went to meet them outside the camp.
And
Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which
went to the battle, This is the
ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
Then
Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses:
And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
Then divide the
captives between the troops who
went out to battle and the rest of the congregation.
And
levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which
went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the
beeves, and of the
asses, and of the sheep:
Set aside a tribute for the LORD from what belongs to the soldiers who
went into battle: one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle,
donkeys, or sheep.
And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:
This was the half portion for those who had gone to war:
For when they
went up unto the valley of
Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.
For when your fathers
went up to the Valley of
Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land that the LORD had given them.
And the children of Machir the son of
Manasseh went to
Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it.
The descendants of Machir son of
Manasseh went to
Gilead, captured it, and drove out the
Amorites who were there.
And
Jair the son of
Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havoth-
jair.
And Nobah went and took Kenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.
These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
These are the journeys of the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt by their divisions under the
leadership of Moses and Aaron.
And they departed from
Rameses in the first month, on the
fifteenth day of the first month; on the
morrow after the
passover the children of Israel
went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
On the
fifteenth day of the first month, on the day after the
Passover, the Israelites set out from
Rameses. They marched out defiantly in full view of all the Egyptians,
And they departed from before
Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and
went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in
Marah.
They set out from
Pi-hahiroth and crossed through the sea, into the wilderness, and they journeyed three days into the Wilderness of Etham and camped at
Marah.
And they went from Kehelathah, and pitched in mount Shapher.
They set out from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.
And they went from Mithcah, and pitched in Hashmonah.
They set out from Mithkah and camped at Hashmonah.
And they
went from
Hor-hagidgad, and pitched in Jotbathah.
They set out from
Hor-haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah.
And Aaron the priest
went up into mount
Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the
fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
At the LORD’s command, Aaron the priest
climbed Mount
Hor and died there on the first day of the fifth month, in the
fortieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt.
And when we departed from
Horeb, we
went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the
Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.
And just as the LORD our God had commanded us, we set out from
Horeb and
went toward the hill country of the
Amorites, through all the vast and
terrifying wilderness you have seen. When we reached Kadesh-barnea,
And they turned and
went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of
Eshcol, and searched it out.
They left and
went up into the hill country, and came to the Valley of
Eshcol and
spied out the land.
And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man
doth bear his son, in all the way that ye
went, until ye came into this place.
and in the wilderness, where the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way by which you traveled until you reached this place.”
Who
went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to
shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
who went before you on the journey, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day, to seek out a place for you to camp and to show you the road to travel.
So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and
went presumptuously up into the hill.
So I spoke to you, but you would not
listen. You rebelled against the command of the LORD and
presumptuously went up into the hill country.
Now rise up, said I, and get you over the
brook Zered. And we
went over the
brook Zered.
“Now arise and cross over the
Brook of Zered.” So we crossed over the
Brook of Zered.
Then we turned, and
went up the way to
Bashan: and
Og the king of
Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
Then we turned and
went up the road to
Bashan, and
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army came out to meet us in battle at Edrei.
(I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to
shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and
went not up into the mount;) saying,
At that time I was standing between the LORD and you to declare to you the word of the LORD, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain. And He said:
When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
When I
went up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the LORD made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I
ate no bread and
drank no water.
So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
So I
went back down the mountain while it was
blazing with fire, with the two tablets of the covenant in my hands.
And I made an ark of
shittim wood, and
hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and
went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
So I made an ark of
acacia wood,
chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals, and
went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
Thy fathers
went down into Egypt with
threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
Your fathers went down to Egypt, seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A
Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he
went down into Egypt, and
sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and
populous:
and you are to declare before the LORD your God, “My father was a wandering
Aramean, and he
went down to Egypt few in number and lived there and became a great nation, mighty and numerous.
For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
They went and served other gods, and they worshiped gods they had not known—gods that the LORD had not given to them.
And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.
When Moses had finished speaking these words to all Israel,
And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present
yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua
went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the time of your death is near. Call Joshua and present
yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, so that I may commission him.” So Moses and Joshua
went and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting.
And he said, The LORD came from
Sinai, and rose up from
Seir unto them; he
shined forth from mount
Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand
went a
fiery law for them.
He said: “The LORD came from
Sinai and
dawned upon us from
Seir; He
shone forth from Mount
Paran and came with myriads of holy ones, with flaming fire at His right hand.
And Moses
went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of
Nebo, to the top of
Pisgah, that is over against
Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of
Gilead, unto
Dan,
Then Moses
went up from the plains of Moab to Mount
Nebo, to the top of
Pisgah, which faces
Jericho. And the LORD showed him the whole land—from
Gilead as far as
Dan,
And Joshua the son of
Nun sent out of
Shittim two men to
spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even
Jericho. And they
went, and came into an
harlot’s house, named
Rahab, and
lodged there.
And it came to pass about the time of
shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men
went out:
whither the men
went I
wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.
At
dusk, when the gate was about to close, the men
went out, and I do not know which way they
went. Pursue them quickly, and you may catch them!”
And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
Before the
spies lay down for the night,
Rahab went up on the roof
And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.
So the
spies went out into the hill country and stayed there three days, until their pursuers had returned without finding them, having searched all along the road.
And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from
Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and
lodged there before they passed over.
Early the next morning Joshua got up and left
Shittim with all the Israelites. They
went as far as the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over.
And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;
After three days the officers went through the camp
And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
And he said to the priests, “Take the ark of the covenant and go on
ahead of the people.” So they carried the ark of the covenant and
went ahead of them.
And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and
encamped in
Gilgal, in the east border of
Jericho.
On the tenth day of the first month the people
went up from the Jordan and camped at
Gilgal on the eastern border of
Jericho.
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by
Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua
went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our
adversaries?
Now when Joshua was near
Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in His hand. Joshua approached Him and asked, “Are You for us or for our enemies?”
Now
Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none
went out, and none came in.
Now
Jericho was
tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one
went out and no one came in.
And the armed men
went before the priests that
blew with the
trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
While the horns continued to sound, the armed troops marched
ahead of the priests who
blew the horns, and the rear guard followed the ark.
And seven priests bearing seven
trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD
went on continually, and
blew with the
trumpets: and the armed men
went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
And the seven priests carrying seven rams’ horns kept marching
ahead of the ark of the LORD and blowing the horns. The armed troops
went in front of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the horns kept sounding.
So the people
shouted when the priests
blew with the
trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet, and the people
shouted with a great
shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people
went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
So when the rams’ horns sounded, the people
shouted. When they heard the blast of the horn, the people gave a great
shout, and the wall
collapsed. Then all the people charged straight into the city and captured it.
And the young men that were
spies went in, and brought
Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
So the young
spies went in and brought out
Rahab, her father and mother and brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her whole family and settled them outside the camp of Israel.
And Joshua sent men from
Jericho to
Ai, which is beside Beth-
aven, on the east side of
Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men
went up and viewed
Ai.
Meanwhile, Joshua sent men from
Jericho to
Ai, which is near Beth-
aven to the east of
Bethel, and told them, “Go up and
spy out the land.” So the men
went up and
spied out
Ai.
So there
went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of
Ai.
So about three thousand men
went up, but they fled before the men of
Ai.
Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they
went to lie in
ambush, and abode between
Bethel and
Ai, on the west side of
Ai: but Joshua
lodged that night among the people.
So Joshua sent them out, and they
went to the place of
ambush and lay in wait between
Bethel and
Ai, to the west of
Ai. But Joshua spent that night among the people.
And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and numbered the people, and
went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to
Ai.
Joshua got up early the next morning and
mobilized his men, and he and the elders of Israel marched before them up to
Ai.
And all the people, even the people of war that were with him,
went up, and drew
nigh, and came before the city, and pitched on the north side of
Ai: now there was a valley between them and
Ai.
Then all the troops who were with him marched up and approached the city. They arrived in front of
Ai and camped to the north of it, with the valley between them and the city.
And when they had set the people, even all the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley.
So the forces were stationed with the main camp to the north of the city and the rear guard to the west of the city. And that night Joshua went into the valley.
And it came to pass, when the king of
Ai saw it, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city
went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he
wist not that there were liers in
ambush against him behind the city.
When the king of
Ai saw the Israelites, he
hurried out early in the morning with the men of the city to
engage them in battle at an appointed place overlooking the Arabah. But he did not know that an
ambush had been set up against him behind the city.
And there was not a man left in
Ai or
Bethel, that
went not out after Israel: and they left the city open, and pursued after Israel.
Not a man was left in
Ai or
Bethel who did not go out after Israel, leaving the city wide open while they pursued Israel.
They did work
wilily, and
went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their
asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
And they
went to Joshua unto the camp at
Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.
They
went to Joshua in the camp at
Gilgal and said to him and the men of Israel, “We have come from a distant land; please make a treaty with us.”
Therefore the five kings of the
Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of
Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of
Lachish, the king of
Eglon, gathered themselves together, and
went up, they and all their hosts, and
encamped before
Gibeon, and made war against it.
So the five kings of the
Amorites—the kings of Jerusalem,
Hebron, Jarmuth,
Lachish, and
Eglon—joined forces and advanced with all their armies. They camped before
Gibeon and made war against it.
Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and
went up from
Gilgal all night.
After marching all night from
Gilgal, Joshua caught them by surprise.
And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
When they had brought the kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had accompanied him, “Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So the commanders came forward and put their feet on their necks.
