And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
I will fill its mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines.
I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will make you a perpetual
desolation,
and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:
Because you have said, ‘These two nations and countries will be ours, and we will possess them,’ even though the LORD was there,
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger,
and according to thine
envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them;
and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.
therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will treat you according to the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred against them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.
And thou shalt know that I am the LORD,
and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid
desolate, they are given us to
consume.
Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard every
contemptuous word you uttered against the mountains of Israel when you said, ‘They are
desolate; they are given to us to
devour!’
Thus with your mouth ye have
boasted against me,
and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
You
boasted against Me with your mouth
and multiplied your words against Me. I heard it Myself!
As thou
didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was
desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be
desolate, O mount
Seir,
and all
Idumea, even all of it:
and they shall know that I am the LORD.
As you
rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became
desolate, so will I do to you. You will become a
desolation, O Mount
Seir,
and so will all of
Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
Also, thou son of man,
prophesy unto the mountains of Israel,
and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
“
And you, son of man,
prophesy to the mountains of Israel
and say: O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.
Therefore
prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you
desolate,
and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen,
and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers,
and are an
infamy of the people:
therefore
prophesy and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Because they have made you
desolate and have
trampled you on every side, so that you became a possession of the rest of the nations
and were taken up in
slander by the lips of their talkers,
Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains,
and to the hills, to the rivers,
and to the valleys, to the
desolate wastes,
and to the cities that are
forsaken, which became a prey
and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains
and hills, to the ravines
and valleys, to the
desolate ruins
and abandoned cities, which have become a
spoil and a
mockery to the rest of the nations around you.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen,
and against all
Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with
despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Surely in My burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations,
and against all
Edom, who took My land as their own possession with wholehearted joy
and utter contempt, so that its pastureland became
plunder.
Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel,
and say unto the mountains,
and to the hills, to the rivers,
and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy
and in my
fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:
Therefore,
prophesy concerning the land of Israel
and tell the mountains
and hills, the ravines
and valleys, that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I have spoken in My burning zeal because you have
endured the reproach of the nations.
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and bear fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come home.
For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
For behold, I am on your side; I will turn toward you, and you will be tilled and sown.
And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
I will multiply the people upon you—the house of Israel in its
entirety. The cities will be inhabited
and the ruins rebuilt.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will fill you with people
and animals,
and they will multiply
and be fruitful. I will make you as inhabited as you once were,
and I will make you
prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel;
and they shall possess thee,
and thou shalt be their inheritance,
and thou shalt no more henceforth
bereave them of men.
Yes, I will cause My people Israel to walk upon you; they will possess you,
and you will be their inheritance,
and you will no longer deprive them of their children.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men,
and hast
bereaved thy nations;
For this is what the Lord GOD says: Because people say to you, ‘You
devour men
and deprive your nation of its children,’
Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
I will no longer allow the taunts of the nations to be heard against you,
and you will no longer
endure the reproach of the peoples or cause your nation to
stumble, declares the Lord GOD.”
Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they
defiled it by their own way
and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
“Son of man, when the people of Israel lived in their land, they
defiled it by their own ways
and deeds. Their
behavior before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman’s impurity.
Wherefore I poured my
fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land,
and for their idols
wherewith they had
polluted it:
So I poured out My wrath upon them because of the blood they had shed on the land,
and because they had
defiled it with their idols.
And I scattered them among the heathen,
and they were
dispersed through the countries: according to their way
and according to their doings I judged them.
I
dispersed them among the nations,
and they were scattered throughout the lands. I judged them according to their ways
and deeds.
And when they entered unto the heathen,
whither they went, they
profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD,
and are gone forth out of his land.
And wherever they went among the nations, they
profaned My holy name, because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave His land.’
And I will
sanctify my great name, which was
profaned among the heathen, which ye have
profaned in the midst of them;
and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be
sanctified in you before their eyes.
I will show the
holiness of My great name, which has been
profaned among the nations—the name you have
profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when I show My
holiness in you before their eyes.
For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries, and I will bring you back into your own land.
Then will I
sprinkle clean water upon you,
and ye shall be clean: from all your
filthiness,
and from all your idols, will I
cleanse you.
I will also
sprinkle clean water on you,
and you will be clean. I will
cleanse you from all your impurities
and all your idols.
A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the
stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances.
And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Then you will live in the land that I gave your forefathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God.
I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will
summon the grain
and make it
plentiful,
and I will not bring famine upon you.
And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
I will also make the fruit of the trees
and the crops of the field
plentiful, so that you will no longer bear reproach among the nations on account of famine.
Then shall ye remember your own evil ways,
and your doings that were not good,
and shall
lothe yourselves in your own sight for your
iniquities and for your abominations.
Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be
ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord GOD—let it be known to you. Be
ashamed and disgraced for your ways, O house of Israel!
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have
cleansed you from all your
iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities,
and the wastes shall be builded.
This is what the Lord GOD says: On the day I
cleanse you from all your
iniquities, I will cause the cities to be resettled
and the ruins to be rebuilt.
And the
desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay
desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
The
desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying
desolate in the sight of all who pass through.
And they shall say, This land that was
desolate is become like the garden of
Eden;
and the waste
and desolate and ruined cities are become
fenced,
and are inhabited.
Then they will say, ‘This land that was
desolate has become like the garden of
Eden. The cities that were once ruined,
desolate,
and destroyed are now fortified
and inhabited.’
Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places,
and plant that that was
desolate: I the LORD have spoken it,
and I will do it.
Then the nations around you that remain will know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was destroyed,
and I have replanted what was
desolate. I, the LORD, have spoken,
and I will do it.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
This is what the Lord GOD says: Once again I will hear the
plea of the house of Israel
and do for them this: I will multiply their people like a flock.
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Like the numerous flocks for sacrifices at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so the ruined cities will be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by His Spirit and set me down in the middle of the valley, and it was full of bones.
And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
He led me all around among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, and indeed, they were very dry.
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
Then He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones come to life?” “O Lord GOD,” I replied, “only You know.”
Again he said unto me,
Prophesy upon these bones,
and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
And He said to me, “
Prophesy concerning these bones
and tell them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
This is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will come to life.
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
attach tendons to you
and make flesh grow upon you
and cover you with skin. I will put breath within you so that you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
So I
prophesied as I was commanded:
and as I
prophesied, there was a noise,
and behold a
shaking,
and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
So I
prophesied as I had been commanded.
And as I
prophesied, there was suddenly a noise, a
rattling,
and the bones came together, bone to bone.
And when I
beheld, lo, the sinews
and the flesh came up upon them,
and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
As I looked on, tendons appeared on them, flesh grew, and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
Then said he unto me,
Prophesy unto the wind,
prophesy, son of man,
and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath,
and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
Then He said to me, “
Prophesy to the breath;
prophesy, son of man,
and tell the breath that this is what the Lord GOD says: Come from the four winds, O breath,
and breathe into these slain, so that they may live!”
So I
prophesied as he commanded me,
and the breath came into them,
and they lived,
and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
So I
prophesied as He had commanded me,
and the breath entered them,
and they came to life
and stood on their feet—a vast army.
Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope has perished; we are cut off.’
Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves,
and cause you to come up out of your graves,
and bring you into the land of Israel.
Therefore
prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O My people, I will open your graves
and bring you up from them,
and I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Then you, My people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
I will put My Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.’”
Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
“And you, son of man, take a single stick and write on it: ‘Belonging to Judah and to the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick and write on it: ‘Belonging to Joseph—the stick of Ephraim—and to all the house of Israel associated with him.’
And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
Then join them together into one stick, so that they become one in your hand.
And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying,
Wilt thou not
shew us what thou meanest by these?
When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you explain to us what you mean by these?’
Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel associated with him, and I will put them together with the stick of Judah. I will make them into a single stick, and they will become one in My hand.’
And the sticks
whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
When the sticks on which you write are in your hand and in full view of the people,
And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen,
whither they be gone,
and will gather them on every side,
and bring them into their own land:
you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land.
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them. Then they will no longer be two nations and will never again be divided into two kingdoms.
Neither shall they
defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have
sinned,
and will
cleanse them: so shall they be my people,
and I will be their God.
They will no longer
defile themselves with their idols or
detestable images, or with any of their transgressions. I will save them from all their
apostasies by which they
sinned,
and I will
cleanse them. Then they will be My people,
and I will be their God.
And David my servant shall be king over them;
and they all shall have one
shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments,
and observe my statutes,
and do them.
My servant David will be king over them,
and there will be one
shepherd for all of them. They will follow My ordinances
and keep
and observe My statutes.
And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
They will live in the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They will live there
forever with their children
and grandchildren,
and My servant David will be their prince
forever.
Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an
everlasting covenant with them:
and I will place them,
and multiply them,
and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for
evermore.
And I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an
everlasting covenant. I will establish them
and multiply them,
and I will set My sanctuary among them
forever.
My tabernacle also shall be with them:
yea, I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people.
And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do
sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for
evermore.
Then the nations will know that I the LORD
sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is among them
forever.’”
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O
Gog, the chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal:
and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O
Gog, chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal.
And I will turn thee back,
and put hooks into thy jaws,
and I will bring thee forth,
and all thine army, horses
and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers
and shields, all of them handling swords:
I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws,
and bring you out with all your army—your horses, your
horsemen in full
armor,
and a great company armed with shields
and bucklers, all
brandishing their swords.
Persia,
Cush,
and Put will
accompany them, all with shields
and helmets,
Gomer,
and all his bands; the house of
Togarmah of the north quarters,
and all his bands:
and many people with thee.
as well as
Gomer with all its troops,
and Beth-
togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
Be thou prepared,
and prepare for
thyself, thou,
and all thy company that are assembled unto thee,
and be thou a guard unto them.
Get ready; prepare
yourself, you
and all your company gathered around you; you will be their guard.
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
After a long time you will be summoned. In the latter years you will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been
desolate. They had been brought out from the nations,
and all now dwell securely.
Thou shalt
ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou,
and all thy bands,
and many people with thee.
You
and all your troops,
and many peoples with you will go up, advancing like a
thunderstorm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day, thoughts will arise in your mind,
and you will
devise an evil plan.
And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will come against a
tranquil people who dwell securely, all of them living without walls or bars or gates—
To take a
spoil,
and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the
desolate places that are now inhabited,
and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have
gotten cattle
and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
in order to seize the
spoil and carry off the
plunder, to turn a hand against the
desolate places now inhabited
and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired
livestock and possessions
and who live at the center of the land.’
Sheba,
and Dedan,
and the merchants of
Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a
spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver
and gold, to take away cattle
and goods, to take a great
spoil?
Sheba and Dedan
and the merchants of
Tarshish with all its villages will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the
plunder? Have you assembled your hordes to carry away
loot, to make off with silver
and gold, to take cattle
and goods, to seize great
spoil?’
Therefore, son of man,
prophesy and say unto
Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
Therefore
prophesy, son of man,
and tell
Gog that this is what the Lord GOD says: On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not take notice of this?
And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
And you will come from your place out of the far north—you
and many peoples with you, all riding horses—a mighty
horde, a huge army.
And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days,
and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be
sanctified in thee, O
Gog, before their eyes.
You will advance against My people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It will happen in the latter days, O
Gog, that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I show Myself holy in you before their eyes.
And it shall come to pass at the same time when
Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my
fury shall come up in my face.
Now on that day when
Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, My wrath will
flare up.
For in my jealousy
and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great
shaking in the land of Israel;
So that the fishes of the sea,
and the fowls of the heaven,
and the beasts of the field,
and all
creeping things that
creep upon the earth,
and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall
shake at my presence,
and the mountains shall be thrown down,
and the steep places shall fall,
and every wall shall fall to the ground.
The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that crawls upon the ground,
and all mankind on the face of the earth will
tremble at My presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will
collapse,
and every wall will fall to the ground.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I will
summon a sword against
Gog on all My mountains, declares the Lord GOD,
and every man’s sword will be against his brother.
And I will
plead against him with
pestilence and with blood;
and I will rain upon him,
and upon his bands,
and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain,
and great hailstones, fire,
and brimstone.
I will
execute judgment upon him with plague
and bloodshed. I will pour out torrents of rain, hailstones, fire,
and sulfur on him
and on his troops
and on the many nations with him.
Thus will I
magnify myself,
and sanctify myself;
and I will be known in the eyes of many nations,
and they shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
magnify and sanctify Myself,
and will
reveal Myself in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
Therefore, thou son of man,
prophesy against
Gog,
and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O
Gog, the chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal:
“As for you, O son of man,
prophesy against
Gog and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O
Gog, chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal.
And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
I will turn you around, drive you along, bring you up from the far north, and send you against the mountains of Israel.
And I will
smite thy bow out of thy left hand,
and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
Then I will strike the bow from your left hand
and dash down the arrows from your right hand.
Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou,
and all thy bands,
and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the
ravenous birds of every sort,
and to the beasts of the field to be
devoured.
On the mountains of Israel you will fall—you
and all your troops
and the nations with you. I will give you as food to every kind of
ravenous bird
and wild beast.
And I will send a fire on
Magog,
and among them that dwell
carelessly in the isles:
and they shall know that I am the LORD.
I will send fire on
Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands,
and they will know that I am the LORD.
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel;
and I will not let them
pollute my holy name any more:
and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
So I will make My holy name known among My people Israel
and will no longer allow it to be
profaned. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Behold, it is come,
and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day
whereof I have spoken.
Yes, it is coming,
and it will surely happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.
And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out,
kindle fires,
and burn up the weapons—the bucklers
and shields, the bows
and arrows, the clubs
and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel.
So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire:
and they shall
spoil those that
spoiled them,
and rob those that
robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
They will not gather wood from the
countryside or cut it from the forests, for they will use the weapons for fuel. They will
loot those who
looted them
and plunder those who
plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto
Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea:
and it shall stop the noses of the passengers:
and there shall they
bury Gog and all his multitude:
and they shall call it The valley of
Hamon-
gog.
And on that day I will give
Gog a burial place in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Sea. It will block those who travel through, because
Gog and all his hordes will be buried there. So it will be called the Valley of
Hamon-
gog.
And seven months shall the house of Israel be
burying of them, that they may
cleanse the land.
For seven months the house of Israel will be
burying them in order to
cleanse the land.
Yea, all the people of the land shall
bury them;
and it shall be to them a
renown the day that I shall be
glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
All the people of the land will
bury them,
and it will bring them
renown on the day I display My glory, declares the Lord GOD.
