twin, and not one of them is lost.

whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one
barren among them.

twin, and not one of them is lost.
My
dove, my
undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that
bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her;

dove, my perfect one, is unique, the
favorite of the mother who bore her. The maidens see her and call her blessed; the queens and concubines sing her praises.
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness,
leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that

roused you under the apple tree; there your mother conceived you; there she
travailed and brought you forth.

oppressor, as in the day of
Midian.

Lift ye up a
banner upon the high mountain,
exalt the voice unto them,
shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the
sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy
shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and
barefoot.

barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon
Ethiopia;
Then the LORD said, “Just as My servant Isaiah has gone naked and
barefoot for three years as a sign and
omen against Egypt and
Cush,
So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians
captives, young and old, naked and
barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
so the king of Assyria will lead away the
captives of Egypt and the exiles of
Cush, young and old alike, naked and
barefoot, with
bared buttocks—to Egypt’s shame.
Yet the defenced city shall be
desolate, and the
habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the
calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and
consume the branches thereof.
For the fortified city lies deserted— a
homestead abandoned, a wilderness
forsaken. There the
calves graze, and there they lie down; they strip its branches
bare.
When he hath made plain the face thereof,
doth he not cast abroad the
fitches, and
scatter the
cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed
barley and
rie in their place?
When he has leveled its surface, does he not
sow caraway and
scatter cumin? He plants wheat in rows and
barley in plots, and
rye within its border.
Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you
bare, and
gird sackcloth upon your loins.
Now therefore give pledges, I pray thee, to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.
Now, therefore, make a
bargain with my master, the king of Assyria. I will give you two thousand horses—if you can put riders on them!
I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a
pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
I will open rivers on the
barren heights, and fountains in the middle of the valleys. I will turn the desert into a
pool of water, and the dry land into flowing springs.
I will go before thee, and make the
crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in
sunder the
bars of iron:
“I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.
Take the millstones, and
grind meal: uncover thy locks, make
bare the leg, uncover the
thigh, pass over the rivers.
Take millstones and
grind flour; remove your
veil; strip off your
skirt,
bare your
thigh, and
wade through the streams.
That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness,
Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
to say to the prisoners, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Show
yourselves.’ They will feed along the pathways, and find pasture on every
barren hill.
Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath
begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am
desolate, a
captive, and removing to and
fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who has
begotten these for me? I was
bereaved and
barren; I was exiled and rejected. So who has reared them? Look, I was left all alone, so where did they come from?’”
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto
Sarah that
bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Sarah who gave you birth. When I called him, he was but one; then I blessed him and multiplied him.

The LORD has bared His holy arm in the sight of all the nations; all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the
spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he
bare the sin of many, and made
intercession for the transgressors.
Therefore I will
allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoils with the strong, because He has poured out His life unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors. Yet He bore the sin of many and made
intercession for the transgressors.
Sing, O
barren, thou that
didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry
aloud, thou that
didst not
travail with child: for more are the children of the
desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy, O
barren woman, who bears no children; break forth in song and cry
aloud, you who have never
travailed; because more are the children of the
desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD.
