Their
blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to
bury them.
They have poured out their
blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to
bury the dead.
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the
revenging of the
blood of thy servants which is shed.
Why should the nations ask, “Where is their God?” Before our eyes, make known among the nations Your
vengeance for the
bloodshed of Your servants.
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and
condemn the innocent
blood.
They band together against the righteous and
condemn the innocent to death.
He turned their waters into
blood, and
slew their fish.
He turned their waters to blood and caused their fish to die.
And shed innocent
blood, even the
blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of
Canaan: and the land was
polluted with
blood.
They shed innocent
blood— the
blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of
Canaan, and the land was
polluted with
blood.
Surely thou
wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye
bloody men.
If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for
blood, let us
lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
If they say, “Come along, let us lie in wait for
blood, let us
ambush the innocent without cause,
For their feet run to evil, and make
haste to shed
blood.
For their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed blood.
And they lay wait for their own
blood; they
lurk privily for their own lives.
But they lie in wait for their own
blood; they
ambush their own lives.
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent
blood,
The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.
Who hath
woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath
babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
Who has
woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaints? Who has needless wounds? Who has
bloodshot eyes?
A man that doeth violence to the
blood of any person shall
flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
A man burdened by
bloodguilt will
flee into the Pit; let no one support him.
Surely the
churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the
wringing of the nose bringeth forth
blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth
strife.
For as the
churning of milk yields butter, and the twisting of the nose draws
blood, so the
stirring of anger brings forth
strife.”
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
“What good to Me is your multitude of sacrifices?” says the LORD. “I am full from the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed cattle; I take no delight in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you:
yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of
blood.
When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you multiply your prayers, I will not
listen. Your hands are covered with
blood.
When the Lord shall have washed away the
filth of the daughters of
Zion, and shall have
purged the
blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
when the Lord has washed away the
filth of the daughters of
Zion and
cleansed the
bloodstains from the heart of Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.
For the
vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
For the
vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are the plant of His delight. He looked for justice, but saw
bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard a cry of distress.
For every battle of the
warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in
blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
For every
trampling boot of battle and every garment rolled in
blood will be burned as fuel for the fire.
For the waters of Dimon shall be full of
blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the
remnant of the land.
The waters of Dimon are full of
blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon— a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the
remnant of the land.
For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her
blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
For behold, the LORD is coming out of His dwelling to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will
reveal her
bloodshed and will no longer
conceal her slain.
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
He who walks righteously and speaks with
sincerity, who refuses gain from
extortion, whose hand never takes a
bribe, who stops his ears against
murderous plots and shuts his eyes
tightly against evil—
Their slain also shall be cast out, and their
stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their
blood.
Their slain will be left unburied, and the
stench of their corpses will rise; the mountains will flow with their
blood.
The sword of the LORD is filled with
blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the
blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the
kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in
Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of
Idumea.
The sword of the LORD is bathed in
blood. It drips with fat— with the
blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the
kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in
Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of
Edom.
And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be
soaked with
blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
And the wild oxen will fall with them, the young bulls with the strong ones. Their land will be
drenched with
blood, and their soil will be
soaked with fat.
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt
beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, will be taken away to be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”
And I will feed them that
oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be
drunken with their own
blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy
Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be
drunk on their own
blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your
Savior and your
Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Is it not to deal thy bread to the
hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not
thyself from thine own flesh?
Isn’t it to share your bread with the
hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your home, to
clothe the naked when you see him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and
blood?
For your hands are
defiled with
blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath
muttered perverseness.
For your hands are
stained with
blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters injustice.
Their feet run to evil, and they make
haste to shed innocent
blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
Their feet run to evil; they are swift to shed innocent
blood. Their thoughts are sinful thoughts; ruin and destruction lie in their
wake.
I have
trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will
tread them in mine anger, and
trample them in my
fury; and their
blood shall be
sprinkled upon my garments, and I will
stain all my
raiment.
“I have
trodden the winepress alone, and no one from the nations was with Me. I
trampled them in My anger and
trod them down in My
fury; their
blood spattered My garments, and all My clothes were
stained.
And I will
tread down the people in mine anger, and make them
drunk in my
fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
I
trampled the nations in My anger; in My wrath I made them
drunk and poured out their
blood on the ground.”
He that killeth an ox is as if he
slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an
oblation, as if he offered
swine’s
blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.
Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man;
whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers pig’s
blood;
whoever offers
frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Moreover, your skirts are
stained with the
blood of the innocent poor, though you did not find them breaking in. But in spite of all these things
If ye
oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent
blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your
hurt:
if you no longer
oppress the foreigner and the fatherless and the widow, and if you no longer shed innocent
blood in this place or follow other gods to your own
harm,
Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their
blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be
bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.
Therefore, hand their children over to famine; pour out the power of the sword upon them. Let their wives become childless and widowed; let their husbands be slain by disease, their young men struck down by the sword in battle.
Because they have
forsaken me, and have
estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the
blood of innocents;
because they have abandoned Me and made this a foreign place. They have burned incense in this place to other gods that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have ever known. They have filled this place with the blood of the innocent.
Thus saith the LORD;
Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the
spoiled out of the hand of the
oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent
blood in this place.
This is what the LORD says:
Administer justice and righteousness.
Rescue the
victim of
robbery from the hand of his
oppressor. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Do not shed innocent
blood in this place.
But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy
covetousness, and for to shed innocent
blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
“But your eyes and heart are set on nothing except your own
dishonest gain, on
shedding innocent
blood, on practicing
extortion and oppression.”
But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent
blood upon
yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
But know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent
blood upon
yourselves, upon this city, and upon its residents; for truly the LORD has sent me to speak all these words in your hearing.”
For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of
vengeance, that he may
avenge him of his
adversaries: and the sword shall
devour, and it shall be
satiate and made
drunk with their
blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
For that day belongs to the Lord GOD of Hosts, a day of
vengeance against His foes. The sword will
devour until it is satisfied, until it is
quenched with their
blood. For the Lord GOD of Hosts will hold a sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.
Cursed is the one who is remiss in doing the work of the LORD, and
cursed is he who withholds his sword from
bloodshed.
The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of
Zion say; and my
blood upon the inhabitants of
Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.
May the violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon,” says the dweller of
Zion. “May my
blood be on the dwellers of
Chaldea,” says Jerusalem.
For the sins of her prophets, and the
iniquities of her priests, that have shed the
blood of the just in the midst of her,
But this was for the sins of her prophets and the guilt of her priests, who shed the blood of the righteous in her midst.
They have
wandered as blind men in the streets, they have
polluted themselves with
blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
They
wandered blind in the streets,
defiled by this
blood, so that no one
dared to touch their garments.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not
warning, nor speakest to
warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at thine hand.
If I say to the wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ but you do not
warn him or speak out to
warn him from his wicked way to save his life, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, and I will hold you responsible for his
blood.
Again, When a righteous man
doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him
warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his
blood will I require at thine hand.
Now if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I put a
stumbling block before him, he will die. If you did not
warn him, he will die in his sin, and the righteous acts he did will not be remembered. And I will hold you responsible for his
blood.
So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall
bereave thee; and
pestilence and
blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.
I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and
bloodshed will
sweep through you, and I will bring a sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.”
Make a chain: for the land is full of
bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
Forge the chain, for the land is full of crimes of
bloodshed, and the city is full of violence.
Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of
blood, and the city full of
perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath
forsaken the earth, and the LORD
seeth not.
He replied, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of
bloodshed, and the city is full of
perversity. For they say, ‘The LORD has
forsaken the land; the LORD does not see.’
Or if I send a
pestilence into that land, and pour out my
fury upon it in
blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out My wrath upon it through
bloodshed, cutting off from it both man and beast,
And when I passed by thee, and saw thee
polluted in thine own
blood, I said unto thee when thou
wast in thy
blood, Live;
yea, I said unto thee when thou
wast in thy
blood, Live.
Then I passed by and saw you
wallowing in your
blood, and as you lay there in your
blood I said to you, ‘Live!’ There I said to you, ‘Live!’
Then washed I thee with water;
yea, I throughly washed away thy
blood from thee, and I
anointed thee with oil.
Then I bathed you with water,
rinsed off your
blood, and
anointed you with oil.
And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou
wast naked and bare, and
wast polluted in thy
blood.
And in all your abominations and acts of
prostitution, you did not remember the days of your youth when you were naked and bare,
wallowing in your own
blood.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy
filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the
blood of thy children, which thou
didst give unto them;
This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your
promiscuity with your lovers and with all your
detestable idols, and because of the
blood of your children which you gave to them,
And I will judge thee, as women that break
wedlock and shed
blood are judged; and I will give thee
blood in
fury and jealousy.
And I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit
adultery and those who shed
blood; so I will bring upon you the wrath of your
bloodshed and jealousy.
If he
beget a son that is a
robber, a
shedder of
blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,
Now suppose that man has a violent son, who sheds blood or does any of these things,
Hath given forth upon
usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his
blood shall be upon him.
He engages in
usury and takes excess interest. Will this son live? He will not! Since he has committed all these abominations, he will surely die; his
blood will be on his own head.
Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
Your mother was like a vine in your
vineyard, planted by the water; it was fruitful and full of branches because of the abundant waters.
Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
You will be fuel for the fire. Your
blood will
stain your own land. You will not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.’”
Now, thou son of man,
wilt thou judge,
wilt thou judge the
bloody city?
yea, thou shalt
shew her all her abominations.
“As for you, son of man, will you judge her? Will you pass judgment on the city of
bloodshed? Then
confront her with all her abominations
Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth
blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to
defile herself.
and tell her that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O city who brings her own
doom by
shedding blood within her walls and making idols to
defile herself,
Thou art become guilty in thy
blood that thou hast shed; and hast
defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a
mocking to all countries.
you are guilty of the
blood you have shed, and you are
defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations and a
mockery to all the lands.
Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.
See how every prince of Israel within you has used his power to shed blood.
In thee are men that carry tales to shed
blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit
lewdness.
In thee have they taken gifts to shed
blood; thou hast taken
usury and increase, and thou hast
greedily gained of thy neighbours by
extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
In you they take bribes to shed
blood. You
engage in
usury, take excess interest, and
extort your neighbors. But Me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD.
Behold, therefore I have
smitten mine hand at thy
dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy
blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
Now look, I strike My hands together against your unjust gain and against the blood you have shed in your midst.
Her princes in the midst thereof are like
wolves ravening the prey, to shed
blood, and to destroy souls, to get
dishonest gain.
That they have committed
adultery, and
blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed
adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to
devour them.
For they have committed
adultery, and
blood is on their hands. They have committed
adultery with their idols. They have even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to Me, in the fire as food for their idols.
And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
But righteous men will sentence them to the punishment of those who commit
adultery and
bloodshed, because they are adulteresses with
blood on their hands.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Woe to the
bloody city, to the pot whose
scum is therein, and whose
scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall up on it.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘
Woe to the city of
bloodshed, to the pot now
rusted, whose
rust will not come off! Empty it piece by piece; cast no lots for its contents.
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
For the blood she shed is still within her; she poured it out on the bare rock; she did not pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.
That it might cause
fury to come up to take
vengeance; I have set her
blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
In order to
stir up wrath and take
vengeance, I have placed her
blood on the bare rock, so that it would not be covered.’
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Woe to the
bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.
For I will send into her
pestilence, and
blood into her street; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
I will send a plague against her and shed blood in her streets; the slain will fall within her, while the sword is against her on every side. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.
I will
drench the land with the flow of your
blood, all the way to the mountains— the ravines will be filled.
Then
whosoever heareth the sound of the
trumpet, and taketh not
warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his
blood shall be upon his own head.
Then if
anyone hears the sound of the horn but fails to
heed the
warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his
blood will be on his own head.
He heard the sound of the
trumpet, and took not
warning; his
blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh
warning shall deliver his soul.
Since he heard the sound of the horn but failed to
heed the
warning, his
blood will be on his own head. If he had
heeded the
warning, he would have saved his life.
But if the
watchman see the sword come, and blow not the
trumpet, and the people be not
warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at the
watchman’s hand.
But if the
watchman sees the sword coming and fails to blow the horn to
warn the people, and the sword comes and takes away a life, then that one will be taken away in his iniquity, but I will hold the
watchman accountable for his
blood.’
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou
dost not speak to
warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at thine hand.
If I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ but you do not speak out to
dissuade him from his way, then that wicked man will die in his iniquity, yet I will hold you accountable for his
blood.
Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
Therefore tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘You eat meat with the blood in it, lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood. Should you then possess the land?
Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the
blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their
calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
Because you
harbored an ancient hatred and delivered the Israelites over to the sword in the time of their
disaster at the final stage of their punishment,
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto
blood, and
blood shall pursue thee:
sith thou hast not
hated blood, even
blood shall pursue thee.
therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will give you over to
bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not
hate bloodshed, it will pursue you.
Wherefore I poured my
fury upon them for the
blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols
wherewith they had
polluted it:
So I poured out My wrath upon them because of the
blood they had shed on the land, and because they had
defiled it with their idols.
And I will
plead against him with
pestilence and with
blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and
brimstone.
I will
execute judgment upon him with plague and
bloodshed. I will pour out torrents of rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every
feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field,
Assemble yourselves, and come; gather
yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink
blood.
And as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and to every beast of the field: ‘
Assemble and come together from all around to the
sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink
blood.
Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the
blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of
Bashan.
You will eat the flesh of the mighty and drink the
blood of the princes of the earth as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls—all the
fattened animals of
Bashan.
And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink
blood till ye be
drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
At the sacrifice I am preparing, you will eat fat until you are
gorged and drink
blood until you are
drunk.
And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings
thereon, and to
sprinkle blood thereon.
Then He said to me: “Son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is constructed, so that burnt offerings may be sacrificed on it and
blood may be
sprinkled on it:
And thou shalt take of the
blood thereof, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the settle, and upon the border round about: thus shalt thou
cleanse and
purge it.
You are to take some of its
blood and put it on the four horns of the altar, on the four corners of the
ledge, and all around the
rim; thus you will
cleanse the altar and make
atonement for it.
In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers,
uncircumcised in heart, and
uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to
pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the
blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.
In addition to all your other abominations, you brought in foreigners
uncircumcised in both heart and flesh to occupy My sanctuary; you
defiled My temple when you offered My food—the fat and the
blood; you broke My covenant.
But the priests the Levites, the sons of
Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went
astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the
blood, saith the Lord GOD:
But the
Levitical priests, who are descended from
Zadok and who kept charge of My sanctuary when the Israelites went
astray from Me, are to approach Me to minister before Me. They will stand before Me to offer Me fat and
blood, declares the Lord GOD.
And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.
And the priest is to take some of the
blood from the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, on the four corners of the
ledge of the altar, and on the gateposts of the inner court.
And the LORD said unto him, Call his name
Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will
avenge the
blood of
Jezreel upon the house of
Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
Then the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name him
Jezreel, for soon I will bring the
bloodshed of
Jezreel upon the house of
Jehu, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.
Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is
polluted with
blood.
Ephraim
provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his
blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has
provoked bitter anger, so his Lord will leave his
bloodguilt upon him and repay him for his contempt.
And I will
shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth,
blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to
blood before the coming of the great and
awesome Day of the LORD.
