And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,
Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its frames, its crossbars, and its posts and bases;

custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the
boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth
thereto,
The duties assigned to the sons of Merari were the tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and all its
equipment—all the service for these items,
And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof,
This is the duty for all their service at the Tent of Meeting: to carry the frames of the tabernacle with its crossbars, posts, and bases,
Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy
excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt
tread upon their high places.
Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is the shield that protects you, the sword in which you
boast. Your enemies will cower before you, and you shall
trample their high places.”
And
Naomi had a
kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was
Boaz.
Now
Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side, a prominent man of noble character from the clan of Elimelech, whose name was
Boaz.
And she went, and came, and
gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her
hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto
Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
So
Ruth departed and went out into the field and
gleaned after the harvesters. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to
Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.
And behold,
Boaz came from
Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The LORD be with you. And they answered him, The LORD
bless thee.
Just then
Boaz arrived from
Bethlehem and said to the harvesters, “The LORD be with you.” “The LORD
bless you,” they replied.
Then said
Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose
damsel is this?
And
Boaz asked the
foreman of his harvesters, “Whose young woman is this?”
Then said
Boaz unto
Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to
glean in another field, neither go from hence, but
abide here fast by my maidens:
Then
Boaz said to
Ruth, “
Listen, my daughter. Do not go and
glean in another field, and do not go away from this place, but stay here close to my servant girls.
And
Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy
nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not
heretofore.
Boaz replied, “I have been made fully aware of all you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, how you left your father and mother and the land of your birth, and how you came to a people you did not know before.
And
Boaz said unto her, At
mealtime come thou
hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy
morsel in the
vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her
parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
At
mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come over here; have some bread and dip it into the
vinegar sauce.” So she sat down beside the harvesters, and he offered her
roasted grain, and she
ate and was satisfied and had some left over.
And when she was risen up to
glean,
Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her
glean even among the
sheaves, and reproach her not:
When
Ruth got up to
glean,
Boaz ordered his young men, “Even if she gathers among the
sheaves, do not
insult her.
And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou
gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man’s name with whom I wrought to day is
Boaz.
Then her mother-in-law asked her, “Where did you
glean today, and where did you work? Blessed be the man who noticed you.” So she told her mother-in-law where she had worked. “The name of the man I worked with
today is
Boaz,” she said.
So she kept fast by the maidens of
Boaz to
glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
So
Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of
Boaz to
glean grain until the barley and wheat harvests were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
And now is not
Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou
wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.
Now is not
Boaz, with whose servant girls you have been working, a relative of ours? In fact,
tonight he is
winnowing barley on the
threshing floor.
And when
Boaz had eaten and
drunk, and his heart was
merry, he went to lie down at the end of the
heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.
After
Boaz had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he went to lie down at the end of the
heap of grain. Then
Ruth went in secretly, uncovered his feet, and lay down.
And it came to pass at
midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.
At
midnight,
Boaz was
startled, turned over, and there lying at his feet was a woman!
And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
Then
Boaz said, “May the LORD
bless you, my daughter. You have shown more kindness now than before, because you have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor.
And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
So she lay down at his feet until morning, but she got up before
anyone else could recognize her. Then
Boaz said, “Do not let it be known that a woman came to the
threshing floor.”
And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
When
Ruth returned to her mother-in-law,
Naomi asked her, “How did it go, my daughter?” Then
Ruth told her all that
Boaz had done for her.
Then went
Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the
kinsman of whom
Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.
Meanwhile,
Boaz went to the gate and sat down there. Soon the
kinsman-
redeemer of whom he had spoken came along, and
Boaz said, “Come over here, my friend, and sit down.” So he went over and sat down.
And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.
Then Boaz took ten of the elders of the city and said, “Sit here,” and they did so.
Then said
Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of
Naomi, thou must
buy it also of
Ruth the
Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.
Then
Boaz said, “On the day you
buy the land from
Naomi and also from
Ruth the
Moabitess, you must also acquire the widow of the deceased in order to raise up the name of the deceased on his inheritance.”
Therefore the
kinsman said unto
Boaz,
Buy it for thee. So he drew off his
shoe.
And
Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, and all that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, of the hand of
Naomi.
At this,
Boaz said to the elders and all the people, “You are witnesses
today that I am
buying from
Naomi all that belonged to Elimelech, Chilion, and Mahlon.
So
Boaz took
Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
So
Boaz took
Ruth, and she became his wife. And when he had relations with her, the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.
Salmon was the father of Boaz, Boaz was the father of Obed,
Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not
arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are
weighed.
Do not
boast so proudly, or let
arrogance come from your mouth, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by Him actions are
weighed.
And there went over a
ferry boat to carry over the king’s household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of
Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;
and crossed at the
ford to carry over the king’s household and to do what was good in his sight. When Shimei son of
Gera crossed the Jordan, he fell down before the king
So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and
boards of
cedar.
So Solomon built the temple and finished it, roofing it with beams and planks of
cedar.
And he built the walls of the house within with
boards of
cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of
fir.
He lined the interior walls with
cedar paneling from the floor of the temple to the
ceiling, and he covered the floor with
cypress boards.
And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with
boards of
cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the
oracle, even for the most holy place.
He partitioned off the twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with
cedar boards from floor to
ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
And he set up the pillars in the
porch of the temple: and he set up the right
pillar, and called the name thereof
Jachin: and he set up the left
pillar, and he called the name thereof
Boaz.
Thus he set up the pillars at the
portico of the temple. The
pillar to the south he named
Jachin, and the
pillar to the north he named
Boaz.
And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his
harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.
And the king of Israel replied, “Tell him: ‘The one putting on his
armor should not
boast like one taking it off.’”
Nahshon was the father of Salmon, and Salmon was the father of Boaz.
Boaz was the father of Obed, and Obed was the father of
Jesse.
And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand
Jachin, and the name of that on the left
Boaz.
Then he set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south and one on the north. The
pillar on the south he named
Jachin, and the
pillar on the north he named
Boaz.
Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast
smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to
boast:
abide now at home; why shouldest thou
meddle to thine
hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
You have said, ‘Look, I have defeated
Edom,’ and your heart has become proud and
boastful. Now stay at home. Why should you
stir up trouble so that you fall—you and Judah with you?”
They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.
The
foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
The
boastful cannot stand in Your presence; You
hate all workers of iniquity.
For the wicked
boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the
covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
For the wicked man
boasts in the cravings of his heart; he blesses the
greedy and reviles the LORD.
The LORD shall cut off all
flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
My soul shall make her
boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be
glad.
In God we
boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever.
Selah.
They that trust in their wealth, and
boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
They trust in their wealth and
boast in their great riches.
Why
boastest thou
thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
Why do you
boast of evil, O mighty man? The loving devotion of God endures all day long.
I said unto the fools, Deal not
foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
I say to the proud, ‘Do not
boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn.
The
boar from the forest ravages it, and the creatures of the field feed upon it.
How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity
boast themselves?
Confounded be all they that serve
graven images, that
boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
All worshipers of images are put to shame— those who
boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!
It is
naught, it is
naught, saith the
buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he
boasteth.
“Worthless, worthless!” says the
buyer, but on the way out, he gloats.
Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.
Like clouds and wind without rain is the man who boasts of gifts never given.
Do not
boast about
tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will inclose her with
boards of
cedar.
If she is a wall, we will build a tower of silver upon her. If she is a door, we will
enclose her with panels of
cedar.
Shall the
axe boast itself against him that heweth
therewith? or shall the saw
magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should
shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
Does an
axe raise itself above the one who swings it? Does a saw
boast over him who saws with it? It would be like a rod waving the one who lifts it, or a staff lifting him who is not wood!
We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his
haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.
And they shall be afraid and
ashamed of
Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Those who made
Cush their hope and Egypt their
boast will be dismayed and
ashamed.
But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye
boast yourselves.
But you will be called the priests of the LORD; they will speak of you as ministers of our God; you will feed on the wealth of nations, and you will
boast in their riches.
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man
boast in his wisdom, nor the strong man in his strength, nor the wealthy man in his riches.
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
But let him who
boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises loving devotion, justice and righteousness on the earth— for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.
Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
Egypt rises like the Nile, and its waters
churn like rivers,
boasting, ‘I will rise and cover the earth; I will destroy the cities and their people.’
I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.
Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O
backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
Why do you
boast of your valleys— your valleys so fruitful, O faithless daughter? You trust in your riches and say, ‘Who can come against me?’
They have made all thy ship
boards of
fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from
Lebanon to make masts for thee.
Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy
merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy
merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
Your wealth, wares, and
merchandise, your sailors, captains, and shipwrights, your merchants and all the warriors within you, with all the other people on
board, will sink into the heart of the sea on the day of your
downfall.
Thus with your mouth ye have
boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
You
boasted against Me with your mouth and multiplied your words against Me. I heard it Myself!
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
And Ephraim boasts: “How rich I have become! I have found wealth for myself. In all my labors, they can find in me no iniquity that is sinful.”
But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have
rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
But you should not
gloat in that day, your brother’s day of misfortune, nor
rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor
boast proudly in the day of their distress.
