And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every
herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not
caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
Now no
shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth, nor had any plant of the field
sprouted; for the LORD God had not yet sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to
cultivate the ground.
And the LORD God
caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he
slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
So the LORD God
caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he
slept, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the area with flesh.
And he called his name
Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and
toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath
cursed.
And he named him
Noah, saying, “May this one comfort us in the labor and
toil of our hands
caused by the ground that the LORD has
cursed.”
For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
For seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will
wipe from the face of the earth every living thing I have made.”
And it came to pass, when God
caused me to
wander from my father’s house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt
shew unto me; at every place
whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
So when God had me journey from my father’s house, I said to
Sarah, ‘This is how you can show your
loyalty to me: Wherever we go, say of me, “He is my brother.”’”
And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath
caused me to be fruitful in the land of my
affliction.

affliction.”
Then Joseph could not
refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he
cried,
Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he
cried out, “Send
everyone away from me!” So none of them were with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
And the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers and canals and ponds, and
cause the frogs to come up
onto the land of Egypt.’”
And in very deed for this
cause have I raised thee up, for to
shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display My power to you, and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
Behold, to
morrow about this time I will
cause it to rain a very
grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
Behold, at this time
tomorrow I will rain down the worst
hail that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded until now.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,
And took off their
chariot wheels, that they
drave them
heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us
flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
He
caused their
chariot wheels to
wobble, so that they had difficulty driving. “Let us
flee from the Israelites,” said the Egyptians, “for the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”
Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the
causes unto God:
Now
listen to me; I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their
causes to Him.
And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
And they judged the people at all times; they would bring the difficult cases to Moses, but any minor issue they would judge themselves.
An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice
thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will
bless thee.
You are to make for Me an altar of earth, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats and cattle. In every place where I
cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and
bless you.
If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that
smote him be
quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall
cause him to be thoroughly
healed.
then the one who struck him shall go unpunished, as long as the other can get up and walk around outside with his staff. Nevertheless, he must
compensate the man for his lost work and see that he is completely
healed.
If a man shall
cause a field or
vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own
vineyard, shall he make
restitution.
For all manner of
trespass, whether it be for ox, for
ass, for sheep, for
raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the
cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall
condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
In all cases of
illegal possession of an ox, a
donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any lost
item that someone claims, ‘This is mine,’ both parties shall bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges find guilty must pay back double to his
neighbor.
Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a
cause to decline after many to
wrest judgment:
Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
Thou shalt not
wrest the judgment of thy poor in his
cause.
You shall not deny justice to the poor in their lawsuits.
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a
snare unto thee.
They must not remain in your land, lest they
cause you to sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a
snare to you.”
And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.
And you are to command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.
And thou shalt
cause a
bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the
bullock.

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will
proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be
gracious to whom I will be
gracious, and will
shew mercy on whom I will
shew mercy.
“I will
cause all My goodness to pass before you,” the LORD replied, “and I will
proclaim My name—the LORD—in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have
compassion on whom I have
compassion.”
And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a
whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a
whoring after their gods.
And when you take some of their daughters as brides for your sons, their daughters will
prostitute themselves to their gods and
cause your sons to do the same.
And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
After Moses had given an order, they sent a
proclamation throughout the camp: “No man or woman should make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing more,
And he shall
cause the house to be
scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they
scrape off without the city into an unclean place:
And he shall have the inside of the house
scraped completely and the
plaster that is
scraped off
dumped into an unclean place outside the city.
Do not
prostitute thy daughter, to
cause her to be a
whore; lest the land fall to
whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.
“Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.
And if a man
cause a
blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;
If
anyone injures his
neighbor, whatever he has done must be done to him:
Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath
caused a
blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Just as he injured the other person, the same must be inflicted on him.
Then shalt thou
cause the
trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of
atonement shall ye make the
trumpet sound throughout all your land.
Then you are to sound the horn far and wide on the tenth day of the seventh month, the Day of
Atonement. You shall sound it throughout your land.
I also will do this unto you; I will even
appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning
ague, that shall
consume the eyes, and
cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall
sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
then this is what I will do to you: I will bring upon you sudden terror, wasting disease, and fever that will destroy your sight and
drain your life. You will
sow your seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that
causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have
lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that
causeth the
curse:
And he is to put the woman under oath and say to her, ‘If no other man has
slept with you and you have not gone
astray and become
defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be
immune to this bitter water that brings a
curse.
May this water that brings a
curse enter your stomach and
cause your
belly to swell and your
thigh to
shrivel.’ Then the woman is to say, ‘
Amen,
Amen.’
And he shall
cause the woman to drink the bitter water that
causeth the
curse: and the water that
causeth the
curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
He is to have the woman drink the bitter water that brings a
curse, and it will enter her and
cause her bitter suffering.
And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the
memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall
cause the woman to drink the water.
Then the priest is to take a handful of the grain offering as a
memorial portion and burn it on the altar; after that he is to have the woman drink the water.
And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be
defiled, and have done
trespass against her husband, that the water that
causeth the
curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her
belly shall swell, and her
thigh shall
rot: and the woman shall be a
curse among her people.
When he has made her drink the water, if she has
defiled herself and been unfaithful to her husband, then the water that brings a
curse will enter her and
cause bitter suffering; her
belly will swell, her
thigh will
shrivel, and she will become
accursed among her people.
The LORD make his face
shine upon thee, and be
gracious unto thee:
may the LORD
cause His face to
shine upon you and be
gracious to you;
And he spake unto
Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to
morrow the LORD will
shew who are his, and who is holy; and will
cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he
cause to come near unto him.
Then he said to
Korah and all his followers, “
Tomorrow morning the LORD will
reveal who belongs to Him and who is holy, and He will bring that person near to Himself. The one He chooses, He will bring near to Himself.
For which
cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that ye
murmur against him?
Therefore, it is you and all your followers who have
conspired against the LORD! As for Aaron, who is he that you should
grumble against him?”
And
whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
Anyone in the open field who touches someone who has been killed by the sword or has died of natural
causes, or
anyone who touches a human bone or a grave, will be unclean for seven days.
And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.
So Moses brought their case before the LORD,
The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
“The daughters of Zelophehad speak correctly. You certainly must give them property as an inheritance among their father’s brothers, and transfer their father’s inheritance to them.
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
Furthermore, you shall say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, you are to transfer his inheritance to his daughter.
And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an
hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou
cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering.
The drink offering accompanying each lamb shall be a quarter
hin. Pour out the offering of
fermented drink to the LORD in the sanctuary area.
Behold, these
caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to commit
trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
“Look, these women
caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.
For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave this people in the wilderness, and you will be the cause of their destruction.”
Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not
testify against any person to
cause him to die.
If
anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death on the testimony of the witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of a
lone witness.
And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
At that time I charged your judges: “Hear the disputes between your brothers, and judge fairly between a man and his brother or a foreign resident.
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
Show no
partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be
intimidated by
anyone, for judgment belongs to God. And bring to me any case too difficult for you, and I will hear it.”
But Joshua the son of
Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither:
encourage him: for he shall
cause Israel to
inherit it.
Joshua son of
Nun, who stands before you, will enter it.
Encourage him, for he will enable Israel to
inherit the land.
But charge Joshua, and
encourage him, and
strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall
cause them to
inherit the land which thou shalt see.
But commission Joshua,
encourage him, and
strengthen him, for he will cross over
ahead of the people and enable them to
inherit the land that you will see.”
Who fed thee in the wilderness with
manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
He fed you in the wilderness with
manna that your fathers had not known, in order to humble you and test you, so that in the end He might
cause you to
prosper.
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to
cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your
tithes, and the
heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye
vow unto the LORD:
then the LORD your God will choose a dwelling for His Name. And there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and special gifts, and all the choice offerings you
vow to the LORD.
But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor
cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses:
forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
But the king must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire more horses, for the LORD has said, ‘You are never to go back that way again.’
That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
so that they cannot teach you to do all the
detestable things they do for their gods, and so
cause you to sin against the LORD your God.
Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is
defiled; for that is
abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not
cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
then the husband who
divorced her first may not remarry her after she has been
defiled, for that is an
abomination to the LORD. You must not bring sin upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
If the guilty man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall have him lie down and be
flogged in his presence with the number of lashes his crime warrants.
The LORD shall
cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be
smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and
flee before thee seven ways.
The LORD will
cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will march out against you in one direction but
flee from you in seven.
The LORD shall
cause thee to be
smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and
flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
The LORD will
cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them in one direction but
flee from them in seven. You will be an object of
horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy
kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
They will eat the offspring of your
livestock and the produce of your land until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain or new wine or oil, no
calves of your herds or lambs of your flocks, until they have
caused you to perish.
And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
And the LORD your God will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it. He will
cause you to
prosper and multiply more than your fathers.
And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath
sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt
cause them to
inherit it.
Then Moses called for Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and
courageous, for you will go with this people into the land that the LORD
swore to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance.
And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.
And concerning Judah he said: “O LORD, hear the cry of Judah and bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause, but may You be a help against his foes.”
And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I
sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have
caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
And the LORD said to him, “This is the land that I
swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross into it.”
And this is the
cause why Joshua did
circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
Now this is why Joshua
circumcised them: All those who came out of Egypt—all the men of war—had died on the journey in the wilderness after they had left Egypt.
And when he that
doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his
cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
When someone flees to one of these cities, stands at the entrance of the city gate, and states his case before its elders, they are to bring him into the city and give him a place to live among them.
For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of
Reuben and children of
Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
For the LORD has made the Jordan a border between us and you Reubenites and Gadites. You have no share in the LORD!’ So your descendants could cause ours to stop fearing the LORD.
That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the names of their gods, nor
cause to
swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow
yourselves unto them:
So you are not to associate with these nations that remain among you. You must not call on the names of their gods or
swear by them, and you must not serve them or bow down to them.
And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she
caused him to
shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to
afflict him, and his strength went from him.
And having
lulled him to sleep on her
lap, she called a man to
shave off the seven braids of his head. In this way she began to
subdue him, and his strength left him.
And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
Thus Samuel had all the tribes of Israel come forward, and the tribe of Benjamin was selected.
When he had
caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of
Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.
Then he had the tribe of Benjamin come forward by its clans, and the clan of Matri was selected. Finally, Saul son of
Kish was selected. But when they looked for him, they could not find him.
And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?
“What have I done now?” said David. “Was it not just a question?”
And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any
dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be
avenged of the king’s enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.
Saul replied, “Say to David, ‘The king desires no other
dowry but a hundred
Philistine foreskins as
revenge on his enemies.’” But Saul intended to
cause David’s death at the hands of the Philistines.
For he did put his life in his hand, and
slew the
Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and
didst rejoice: wherefore then
wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to
slay David without a
cause?
He took his life in his hands when he struck down the
Philistine, and the LORD worked a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it and
rejoiced, so why would you sin against innocent blood by killing David for no reason?”
And
Jonathan caused David to
swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and thee, and see, and
plead my
cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.
May the LORD be our judge and decide between you and me. May He take notice and
plead my case and deliver me from your hand.”
That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood
causeless, or that my lord hath
avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine
handmaid.
then my lord will have no
remorse or guilt of conscience over needless
bloodshed and
revenge. And when the LORD has dealt well with my lord, may you remember your
maidservant.”
And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath
pleaded the
cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with
Abigail, to take her to him to wife.
On hearing that Nabal was dead, David said, “Blessed be the LORD, who has
upheld my
cause against the reproach of Nabal and has restrained His servant from evil. For the LORD has brought the wickedness of Nabal down upon his own head.” Then David sent word to
Abigail, asking for her in marriage.
And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a
snare for my life, to
cause me to die?
But the woman replied, “Surely you know what Saul has done, how he has killed the mediums and spiritists in the land. Why have you set a
trap to get me killed?”
And when all the people came to
cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David
sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
Then all the people came and urged David to eat something while it was still day, but David took an oath, saying, “May God
punish me, and ever so severely, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun sets!”
And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
and have done since the day I appointed judges over My people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies. The LORD declares to you that He Himself will establish a house for you.
And I,
whither shall I
cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not
withhold me from thee.
Where could I ever take my shame? And you would be like one of the fools in Israel! Please speak to the king, for he will not
withhold me from you.”
And she said unto him, There is no
cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou
didst unto me. But he would not
hearken unto her.
“No,” she replied, “sending me away is worse than this great wrong you have already done to me!” But he refused to
listen to her.
Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or
cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!
And he would add, “If only someone would
appoint me judge in the land, then
everyone with a
grievance or dispute could come to me, and I would give him justice.”
The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and
cause Solomon my son to
ride upon mine own
mule, and bring him down to
Gihon:
“Take my servants with you,” said the king. “Set my son Solomon on my own
mule and take him down to
Gihon.
So
Zadok the priest, and
Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and
caused Solomon to
ride upon king David’s
mule, and brought him to
Gihon.
Then
Zadok the priest,
Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, along with the Cherethites and Pelethites, went down and set Solomon on King David’s
mule, and they
escorted him to
Gihon.
And the king hath sent with him
Zadok the priest, and
Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have
caused him to
ride upon the king’s
mule:
And with Solomon, the king has sent
Zadok the priest,
Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, along with the Cherethites and Pelethites, and they have set him on the king’s
mule.
Bath-
sheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and
caused a seat to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.
So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah. The king stood up to
greet her, bowed to her, and sat down on his throne. Then the king had a throne brought for his mother, who sat down at his right hand.
My servants shall bring them down from
Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt
appoint me, and will
cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt
accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
My servants will
