Ahimaaz and
Jonathan climbed up out of the well and went to inform King David, saying, “Get up and
cross over the river at once, for

Gera crossed the Jordan, he fell down before the king

Please let your servant return, that I may die in my own city near the tomb of my father and mother. But here is your servant Chimham. Let him cross over with my lord the king, and do for him what is good in your sight.”
And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee: and

Gad and Jazer.
For it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and passest over the

On the day you go out and cross the Kidron Valley, know for sure that you will die; your blood will be on your own head.”

Elijah said to
Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken away from you?” “Please, let me
inherit a double portion of your spirit,”
Elisha replied.

hither and thither: and

crossed over to Zair with all his
chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his
chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night. His troops, however, fled to their homes.

And thou
didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.
You divided the sea before them, and they
crossed through it on dry ground. You
hurled their pursuers into the depths like a stone into
raging waters.
Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
You set a boundary they cannot cross, that they may never again cover the earth.
Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
crossing the street near her corner,
strolling down the road to her house,
She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
On the heights overlooking the road, at the crossroads she takes her stand.
He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.
They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their
lodging at Geba;
Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
They have
crossed at the
ford: “We will
spend the night at Geba.”
Ramah trembles; Gibeah of Saul flees.
And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he
shake his hand over the river, and shall
smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over
dryshod.
The LORD will
devote to destruction the gulf of the Sea of Egypt; with a
scorching wind He will
sweep His hand over the Euphrates. He will split it into seven streams for men to
cross with dry
sandals.
Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have
replenished.
Be silent, O dwellers of the coastland, you merchants of
Sidon, whose traders have
crossed the sea.
Cross over to
Tarshish;
wail, O inhabitants of the coastland!
And he said, Thou shalt no more
rejoice, O thou
oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to
Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.
He said, “You shall
rejoice no more, O
oppressed Virgin Daughter of
Sidon. Get up and
cross over to
Cyprus— even there you will find no rest.”
Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the
ransomed to pass over?
Was it not You who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea for the redeemed to cross over?
For pass over the isles of
Chittim, and see; and send unto
Kedar, and consider
diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
Cross over to the coasts of
Cyprus and take a look; send to
Kedar and consider carefully; see if there has ever been anything like this:
Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not
tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof
toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they
roar, yet can they not pass over it?
Do you not fear Me?” declares the LORD. “Do you not
tremble before Me, the One who set the sand as the boundary for the sea, an
enduring barrier it cannot
cross? The waves
surge, but they cannot prevail. They
roar but cannot
cross it.
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths: ‘Where is the good way?’ Then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it!’
Then
Ishmael carried away
captive all the residue of the people that were in
Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people that remained in
Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam: and
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away
captive, and departed to go over to the
Ammonites.
Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to
swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
Once again he measured off a thousand cubits, but now it was a river that I could not
cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough for
swimming—a river that could not be
crossed on foot.
And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
As I was
contemplating all this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between his eyes came out of the west,
crossing the surface of the entire earth without touching the ground.
Pass ye unto
Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to
Hamath the great: then go down to
Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
Cross over to
Calneh and see; go from there to the great
Hamath; then go down to
Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?
Neither shouldest thou have stood in the
crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
Nor should you stand at the crossroads to cut off their fugitives, nor deliver up their survivors in the day of their distress.
Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

Jesus got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own town.
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
and
anyone who does not take up his
cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.
And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
When they
crossed to the other side, the disciples
forgot to take bread.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Then Jesus told His disciples, “If
anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his
cross and follow Me.
Go ye therefore into the
highways, and as many as ye shall find,
bid to the marriage.
Go therefore to the
crossroads and
invite to the
banquet as many as you can find.’
And as they came out, they found a man of
Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his
cross.
Along the way they found a man from
Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the
cross of Jesus.
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save
thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the
cross.
and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save
Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the
cross!”
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
“He saved others, but He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
When that evening came, He said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side.”
And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was
nigh unto the sea.
When Jesus had again crossed by boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him beside the sea.
And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
When they had
crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and
moored the boat.
And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.
And He left them, got back into the boat, and crossed to the other side.
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them,
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his
cross, and follow me.
Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If
anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his
cross and follow Me.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell
whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come, take up the
cross, and follow me.
Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said to him, “There is one thing you lack: Go, sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
And they
compel one Simon a
Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his
cross.
Now Simon of
Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and the soldiers forced him to carry the
cross of Jesus.
Save
thyself, and come down from the
cross.
come down from the
cross and save
Yourself!”
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the
cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were
crucified with him
reviled him.
Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the
cross, so that we may see and believe!” And even those who were
crucified with Him
berated Him.
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they
launched forth.
One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with them and set out.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Then Jesus said to all of them, “If
anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his
cross daily and follow Me.
And
whosoever doth not bear his
cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
And
whoever does not carry his
cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
And besides all this, a great
chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot
cross from here to you, nor can
anyone cross from there to us.’
And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a
Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the
cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of
Cyrene on his way in from the country, and put the
cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Truly, truly, I tell you,
whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has
crossed over from death to life.
After these things Jesus went over the sea of
Galilee, which is the sea of
Tiberias.
After this, Jesus
crossed to the other side of the Sea of
Galilee (that is, the Sea of
Tiberias).
And he bearing his
cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew
Golgotha:
Carrying His own
cross, He went out to The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called
Golgotha.
And
Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the
cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF
NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Pilate also had a notice posted on the
cross. It read: JESUS OF
NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the
cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,)
besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
It was the day of Preparation, and the next day was a High Sabbath. In order that the bodies would not remain on the
cross during the Sabbath, the Jews asked
Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies removed.
He was delivered up by God’s set plan and
foreknowledge, and you, by the hands of the lawless, put Him to death by
nailing Him to the
cross.
And when he was disposed to pass into
Achaia, the brethren wrote,
exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
When Apollos resolved to
cross over to
Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to
welcome him. On his arrival, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.
And finding a ship sailing over unto
Phenicia, we went
aboard, and set forth.
Finding a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we boarded it and set sail.
For Christ sent me not to
baptize, but to
preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the
cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
For Christ did not send me to
baptize, but to
preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the
cross of Christ be
emptied of its power.
For the preaching of the
cross is to them that perish
foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
For the message of the
cross is
foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
And I, brethren, if I yet
preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the
cross ceased.
As many as desire to make a fair
shew in the flesh, they
constrain you to be
circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the
cross of Christ.
Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to
compel you to be
circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the
cross of Christ.
But God
forbid that I should glory, save in the
cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is
crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
But as for me, may I never
boast, except in the
cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been
crucified to me, and I to the world.
And that he might
reconcile both unto God in one body by the
cross, having slain the
enmity thereby:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the
cross.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became
obedient to death— even death on a
cross.
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even
weeping, that they are the enemies of the
cross of Christ:
For as I have often told you before, and now say again even with tears: Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.
And, having made peace through the blood of his
cross, by him to
reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
and through Him to
reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His
cross.
Blotting out the
handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
nailing it to his
cross;
having
canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away,
nailing it to the
cross!
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public
spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the
cross.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him
endured the
cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him
endured the
cross,
scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
