Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.
I delivered it into the hand of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with it according to its wickedness. I have banished it.
To the end that none of all the trees by the waters
exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all
delivered unto death, to the
nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
This happened so that no other trees by the waters would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been
consigned to death, to the depths of the earth, among the mortals who descend to the Pit.’
They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.
They will fall among those slain by the sword. The sword is appointed! Let them
drag her away along with all her multitudes.
He heard the sound of the
trumpet, and took not
warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh
warning shall
deliver his soul.
Since he heard the sound of the horn but failed to
heed the
warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had
heeded the
warning, he would have saved his life.
Nevertheless, if thou
warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast
delivered thy soul.
But if you
warn the wicked man to turn from his way, and he does not turn from it, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life.
Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not
deliver him in the day of his
transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
Therefore, son of man, say to your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not
deliver him in the day of his
transgression; neither will the wickedness of the wicked man cause him to
stumble on the day he turns from his wickedness. Nor will the righteous man be able to
survive by his righteousness on the day he sins.’
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the
shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the
shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will
deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against the
shepherds, and I will demand from them My flock and remove them from tending the flock, so that they can no longer feed themselves. For I will
deliver My flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.’
As a
shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will
deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the
cloudy and dark day.
As a
shepherd looks for his scattered sheep when he is among the flock, so I will look for My flock. I will
rescue them from all the places to which they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
The trees of the field will give their fruit, and the land will yield its produce; My flock will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bars of their yoke and
delivered them from the hands that
enslaved them.
Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their
calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
Because you
harbored an ancient hatred and
delivered the Israelites over to the sword in the time of their
disaster at the final stage of their punishment,
And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they
trespassed against me, therefore
hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
And the nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity, because they were unfaithful to Me. So I
hid My face from them and
delivered them into the hands of their enemies, so that they all fell by the sword.
And the Lord gave
Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of
Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the
treasure house of his god.
And the Lord
delivered into his hand
Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with some of the articles from the house of God. He carried these off to the land of
Shinar, to the house of his god, where he put them in the treasury of his god.
Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall
deliver you out of my hands?
Now, if you are ready, as soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the statue I have made. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the
blazing fiery furnace. Then what god will be able to
deliver you from my hands?”
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to
deliver us from the burning
fiery furnace, and he will
deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
If the God whom we serve exists, then He is able to
deliver us from the
blazing fiery furnace and from your hand, O king.
Then
Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and
delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
Nebuchadnezzar declared, “Blessed be the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, who has sent His angel and
delivered His servants who trusted in Him. They
violated the king’s command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.
Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing
amiss against the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a
dunghill: because there is no other God that can
deliver after this sort.
Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything offensive against the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego will be cut into pieces and their houses reduced to
rubble. For there is no other god who can
deliver in this way.”
Then the king, when he heard these words, was
sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to
deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to
deliver him.
As soon as the king heard this, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on
delivering Daniel, and he labored until
sundown to
rescue him.
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”
And when he came to the den, he
cried with a
lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to
deliver thee from the lions?
When he reached the den, he
cried out in a voice of
anguish, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to
deliver you from the lions?”
He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
He
delivers and rescues; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for He has
rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
I saw the ram
pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could
deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
I saw the ram charging toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against him, and there was no
deliverance from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.
And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with
choler against him, and
smote the ram, and
brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could
deliver the ram out of his hand.
I saw him approach the ram in a
rage against him, and he struck the ram and
shattered his two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against him, and the goat threw him to the ground and
trampled him, and no one could
deliver the ram from his power.
And the king of the south shall be moved with
choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
In a
rage, the king of the South will march out to fight the king of the North, who will raise a large army, but it will be
delivered into the hand of his enemy.
He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even
Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of
Ammon.
He will also
invade the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall. But these will be
delivered from his hand:
Edom, Moab, and the leaders of the
Ammonites.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
“At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—
everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be
delivered.
And now will I discover her
lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall
deliver her out of mine hand.
And then I will
expose her
lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will
deliver her out of My hands.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I
deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as
Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are
kindled together.
How could I give you up, O Ephraim? How could I surrender you, O Israel? How could I make you like Admah? How could I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within Me; My
compassion is
stirred!
And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be
delivered: for in mount
Zion and in Jerusalem shall be
deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the
remnant whom the LORD shall call.
And
everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount
Zion and in Jerusalem there will be
deliverance, as the LORD has promised, among the
remnant called by the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of
Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away
captive the whole captivity, to
deliver them up to
Edom:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of
Gaza, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they exiled a whole population,
delivering them up to
Edom.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they
delivered up the whole captivity to
Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Tyre, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
delivered up a whole congregation of exiles to
Edom and broke a covenant of
brotherhood.
Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not
strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty
deliver himself:
Escape will fail the swift, the strong will not prevail by his strength, and the mighty will not save his life.
Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.
The archer will not stand his ground, the fleet of foot will not escape, and the
horseman will not save his life.
The Lord GOD hath
sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I
abhor the
excellency of Jacob, and
hate his palaces: therefore will I
deliver up the city with all that is therein.
The Lord GOD has
sworn by Himself—the LORD, the God of Hosts, has declared: “I
abhor Jacob’s pride and
detest his citadels, so I will
deliver up the city and everything in it.”
I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said,
Smite the
lintel of the door, that the posts may
shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will
slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not
flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be
delivered.
I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and He said: “Strike the tops of the pillars so that the thresholds
shake.
Topple them on the heads of all the people, and I will kill the rest with the sword. None of those who
flee will get away; none of the fugitives will escape.
Neither shouldest thou have stood in the
crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have
delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
Nor should you stand at the crossroads to cut off their fugitives, nor deliver up their survivors in the day of their distress.
But upon mount
Zion shall be
deliverance, and there shall be
holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
But on Mount
Zion there will be
deliverance, and it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will reclaim their possession.
And saviours shall come up on mount
Zion to judge the mount of
Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
The
deliverers will
ascend Mount
Zion to rule over the mountains of
Esau. And the kingdom will belong to the LORD.
And the LORD God prepared a
gourd, and made it to come up over
Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to
deliver him from his grief. So
Jonah was exceeding
glad of the
gourd.
So the LORD God appointed a vine, and it grew up to provide shade over
Jonah’s head to ease his discomfort, and
Jonah was greatly pleased with the plant.
Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of
Zion, like a woman in
travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be
delivered; there the LORD shall
redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
Writhe in
agony, O Daughter of
Zion, like a woman in labor. For now you will leave the city and camp in the open fields. You will go to Babylon; there you will be
rescued; there the LORD will
redeem you from the hand of your enemies!
And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of
Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he
deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
And they will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of
Nimrod with the
blade drawn. So He will
deliver us when Assyria invades our land and marches into our borders.
And the
remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can
deliver.
Then the
remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which tramples and tears as it passes through, with no one to
rescue them.
Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
You will eat but not be satisfied, and your hunger will remain with you. What you acquire, you will not preserve; and what you save, I will give to the sword.
Woe to him that coveteth an evil
covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be
delivered from the power of evil!
Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain, to place his nest on high and escape the hand of
disaster!
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to
deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be
devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a
speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the Day of the LORD’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy.” For indeed, He will make a sudden end of all who dwell on the earth.
Then spake
Haggai the LORD’S
messenger in the LORD’S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.
Haggai, the
messenger of the LORD,
delivered the message of the LORD to the people: “I am with you,” declares the LORD.
Deliver thyself, O
Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
“Get up, O
Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the Daughter of Babylon!”
For I will no more
pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will
deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall
smite the land, and out of their hand I will not
deliver them.
For I will no longer have
compassion on the people of the land, declares the LORD, but behold, I will cause each man to fall into the hands of his
neighbor and his king, who will
devastate the land, and I will not
deliver it from their hands.”
And now we call the proud happy;
yea, they that work wickedness are set up;
yea, they that
tempt God are even
delivered.
So now we call the
arrogant blessed. Not only do evildoers
prosper, they even test God and escape.’”
Agree with thine
adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the
adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge
deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Reconcile quickly with your
adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise, he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
And lead us not into
temptation, but
deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
And lead us not into
temptation, but
deliver us from the evil one.’
But
beware of men: for they will
deliver you up to the councils, and they will
scourge you in their synagogues;
But
beware of men; for they will hand you over to their councils and
flog you in their synagogues.
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
But when they hand you over, do not
worry about how to
respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say.
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
Brother will
betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.
All things are
delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to
whomsoever the Son will
reveal him.
All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to
reveal Him.
And while they abode in
Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be
betrayed into the hands of men:
When they gathered together in
Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be
delivered into the hands of men.
And his lord was
wroth, and
delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be
tortured, until he should repay all that he owed.
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be
betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the
scribes, and they shall
condemn him to death,
“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be
delivered over to the chief priests and
scribes. They will
condemn Him to death
And shall
deliver him to the Gentiles to
mock, and to
scourge, and to
crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
and will
deliver Him over to the Gentiles to be
mocked and
flogged and
crucified. And on the third day He will be raised to life.”
Then shall they
deliver you up to be
afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be
hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
Then they will
deliver you over to be
persecuted and killed, and you will be
hated by all nations because of My name.
For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
For it is just like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted them with his possessions.
And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
The servant who had received the five talents came and presented five more. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’
He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
The servant who had received the two talents also came and said, ‘Master, you entrusted me with two talents. See, I have gained two more.’
And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
And when they had bound him, they led him away, and
delivered him to Pontius
Pilate the governor.
They bound Him, led Him away, and handed Him over to
Pilate the governor.
For he knew that for
envy they had
delivered him.
For he knew it was out of
envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had
scourged Jesus, he
delivered him to be
crucified.
He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
He trusts in God. Let God deliver Him now if He wants Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
He went to
Pilate, and
begged the body of Jesus. Then
Pilate commanded the body to be
delivered.
He went to
Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus, and
Pilate ordered that it be given to him.
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Thus you
nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
because He was teaching His disciples. He told them, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days He will rise.”
Saying,Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be
delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the
scribes; and they shall
condemn him to death, and shall
deliver him to the Gentiles:
“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be
delivered over to the chief priests and
scribes. They will
condemn Him to death and will
deliver Him over to the Gentiles,
But take
heed to
yourselves: for they shall
deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
So be on your guard. You will be delivered over to the councils and beaten in the synagogues. On My account you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them.
But when they shall lead you, and
deliver you up, take no thought
beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye
premeditate: but
whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
But when they arrest you and hand you over, do not
worry beforehand what to say. Instead, speak whatever you are given at that time, for it will not be you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
And
straightway in the morning the chief priests held a
consultation with the elders and
scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and
delivered him to
Pilate.
Early in the morning, the chief priests, elders,
scribes, and the whole
Sanhedrin devised a plan. They bound Jesus, led Him away, and handed Him over to
Pilate.
For he knew that the chief priests had
delivered him for
envy.
For he knew it was out of
envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over.
And so
Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and
delivered Jesus, when he had
scourged him, to be
crucified.
And wishing to satisfy the crowd,
Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus
flogged, and handed Him over to be
crucified.
Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
just as they were handed down to us by the initial eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
When the time came for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth to a son.
That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
deliverance from hostile hands, that we may serve Him without fear,
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
While they were there, the time came for her Child to be born.
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is
delivered unto me; and to
whomsoever I will I give it.
“I will give You authority over all these kingdoms and all their glory,” he said. “For it has been
relinquished to me, and I can give it to
anyone I wish.
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
the
scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
anointed me to
preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to
heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the
captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are
bruised,
“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has
anointed Me to
preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to
proclaim liberty to the
captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the
oppressed,
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
And the dead man sat up and began to speak! Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.
And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and
tare him. And Jesus
rebuked the unclean spirit, and
healed the child, and
delivered him again to his father.
Even while the boy was approaching, the
demon slammed him to the ground in a
convulsion. But Jesus
rebuked the unclean spirit,
healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
“Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.”
All things are
delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will
reveal him.
All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to
reveal Him.”
And
forgive us our sins; for we also
forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into
temptation; but
deliver us from evil.
When thou goest with thine
adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give
diligence that thou mayest be
delivered from him; lest he
hale thee to the judge, and the judge
deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
Make every effort to
reconcile with your
adversary while you are on your way to the magistrate. Otherwise, he may
drag you off to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and the officer may throw you into prison.
And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
Beforehand, he called ten of his servants and gave them ten
minas. ‘Conduct business with this until I return,’ he said.
And they watched him, and sent forth
spies, which should
feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might
deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
So they watched Him closely and sent
spies who pretended to be
sincere. They were hoping to catch Him in His words in order to hand Him over to the rule and authority of the governor.
But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and
persecute you,
delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.
But before all this, they will seize you and
persecute you. On account of My name they will
deliver you to the synagogues and prisons, and they will bring you before kings and governors.
And he released unto them him that for
