Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and
offend, imputing this his power unto his
god.
Then they
sweep by like the wind and pass on through. They are guilty; their own strength is their
god.”
Art thou not from
everlasting, O LORD my
God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty
God, thou hast established them for correction.
Are You not from
everlasting, O LORD, my
God, my Holy One? We will not die. O LORD, You have appointed them to
execute judgment; O Rock, You have established them for correction.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount
Paran.
Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount
Paran.
Selah His glory covered the heavens, and His praise filled the earth.
Yet I will
rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the
God of my salvation.
yet I will
exult in the LORD; I will
rejoice in the
God of my salvation!
The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
GOD the Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like those of a deer; He makes me walk upon the heights! For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments.
Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord
GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath
bid his guests.
Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD, for the Day of the LORD is near. Indeed, the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has consecrated His guests.
And the coast shall be for the
remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed
thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their
God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
The coast will belong to the
remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their
God will attend to them and restore their
captives.
Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the
God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as
Sodom, and the children of
Ammon as
Gomorrah, even the breeding of
nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual
desolation: the residue of my people shall
spoil them, and the
remnant of my people shall possess them.
Therefore, as surely as I live,” declares the LORD of Hosts, the
God of Israel, “surely Moab will be like
Sodom and the
Ammonites like
Gomorrah— a place of weeds and salt pits, a perpetual wasteland. The
remnant of My people will
plunder them; the remainder of My nation will dispossess them.”
The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will
famish all the
gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
The LORD will be
terrifying to them when He starves all the
gods of the earth. Then the nations of every shore will bow in worship to Him, each in its own place.
She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
She
heeded no voice; she accepted no correction. She does not trust in the LORD; she has not drawn near to her
God.
The LORD thy
God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will
rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
The LORD your
God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will
rejoice over you with
gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will
rejoice over you with singing.”
Then
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the
remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their
God, and the words of
Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their
God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
Then
Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as all the
remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their
God and the words of the prophet
Haggai, because the LORD their
God had sent him. So the people feared the LORD.
And the LORD
stirred up the spirit of
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the
remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their
God,
So the LORD
stirred the spirit of
Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as the spirit of all the
remnant of the people. And they came and began the work on the house of the LORD of Hosts, their
God,
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your
God.
Even those far away will come and build the temple of the LORD, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you. This will happen if you
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your
God.”
When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
Now the people of
Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech, along with their men, to
plead before the LORD
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
I will bring them back to dwell in Jerusalem, where they will be My people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the
skirt of him that is a
Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that
God is with you.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue will
tightly grasp the
robe of a
Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that
God is with you.’”
And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our
God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and
Ekron as a Jebusite.
I will remove the blood from their mouths and the abominations from between their teeth. Then they too will become a
remnant for our
God; they will become like a clan in Judah, and
Ekron will be like the Jebusites.
And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his
arrow shall go forth as the
lightning: and the LORD
GOD shall blow the
trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
Then the LORD will appear over them, and His
arrow will go forth like
lightning. The Lord
GOD will sound the ram’s horn and advance in the whirlwinds of the south.
And the LORD their
God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an
ensign upon his land.
On that day the LORD their
God will save them as the flock of His people; for like jewels in a crown they will
sparkle over His land.
And I will
strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their
God, and will hear them.
I will
strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have
compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their
God, and I will answer them.
Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
This is what the LORD my God says: “Pasture the flock marked for slaughter,
And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts: ‘The people of Jerusalem are my strength, for the LORD of Hosts is their God.’
In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD going before them.
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
And ye shall
flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:
yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my
God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
You will
flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will
flee as you fled from the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my
God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
And now, I pray you,
beseech God that he will be
gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.
“But ask now for
God’s favor. Will He be
gracious? Since this has come from your hands, will He show you favor?” asks the LORD of Hosts.
Have we not all one father? hath not one
God created us? why do we deal
treacherously every man against his brother, by
profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Do we not all have one Father? Did not one
God create us? Why then do we break faith with one another so as to
profane the covenant of our fathers?
Judah hath dealt
treacherously, and an
abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath
profaned the
holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange
god.
Judah has broken faith; an
abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has
profaned the LORD’s beloved sanctuary by marrying the daughter of a foreign
god.
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a
godly seed. Therefore take
heed to your spirit, and let none deal
treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Has not the LORD made them one, having a portion of the Spirit? And why one? Because He seeks
godly offspring. So guard
yourselves in your spirit and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.
For the LORD, the
God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take
heed to your spirit, that ye deal not
treacherously.
“For I
hate divorce,” says the LORD, the
God of Israel. “He who divorces his wife covers his garment with violence,” says the LORD of Hosts. So guard
yourselves in your spirit and do not break faith.
Ye have
wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we
wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the
God of judgment?
You have
wearied the LORD with your words; yet you ask, “How have we
wearied Him?” By saying, “All who do evil are good in the sight of the LORD, and in them He delights,” or, “Where is the
God of justice?”
Will a man
rob God? Yet ye have
robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we
robbed thee? In
tithes and offerings.
Will a man
rob God? Yet you are
robbing Me! But you ask, ‘How do we
rob You?’ In
tithes and offerings.
Ye have said, It is vain to serve
God: and what profit is it that we have kept his
ordinance, and that we have walked
mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
You have said, ‘It is
futile to serve
God. What have we gained by keeping His requirements and walking
mournfully before the LORD of Hosts?
And now we call the proud happy;
yea, they that work wickedness are set up;
yea, they that
tempt God are even delivered.
So now we call the
arrogant blessed. Not only do evildoers
prosper, they even test
God and escape.’”
Then shall ye return, and
discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth
God and him that serveth him not.
So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is,
God with us.
“Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him
Immanuel” (which means, “
God with us”).
And being
warned of
God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
And having been
warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.
But when he heard that
Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being
warned of
God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of
Galilee:
But when he learned that
Archelaus was reigning in
Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been
warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of
Galilee,
And think not to say within
yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that
God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
And do not
presume to say to
yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones
God can raise up children for Abraham.
And Jesus, when he was
baptized, went up
straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of
God descending like a
dove, and lighting upon him:
As soon as Jesus was
baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of
God descending like a
dove and resting on Him.
And when the
tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of
God, command that these stones be made bread.
The
tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of
God, tell these stones to become bread.”
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of
God, cast
thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou
dash thy foot against a stone.
“If You are the Son of
God,” he said, “throw
Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command His angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’”
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not
tempt the Lord thy
God.
Jesus replied, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence,
Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy
God, and him only shalt thou serve.
“Away from Me,
Satan!” Jesus declared. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your
God and serve Him only.’”
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
But I say unto you,
Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is
God’s throne:
But I tell you not to
swear at all: either by heaven, for it is
God’s throne;
No man can serve two masters: for either he will
hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and
despise the other. Ye cannot serve
God and
mammon.
No one can serve two masters: Either he will
hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and
despise the other. You cannot serve both
God and money.
Wherefore, if
God so
clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to
morrow is cast into the
oven, shall he not much more
clothe you, O ye of little faith?
If that is how
God clothes the grass of the field, which is here
today and
tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more
clothe you, O you of little faith?
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
And, behold, they
cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of
God? art thou come
hither to
torment us before the time?
“What do You want with us, Son of
God?” they
shouted. “Have You come here to
torture us before the appointed time?”
But when the multitudes saw it, they
marvelled, and
glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
When the crowds saw this, they were filled with
awe and
glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
How he entered into the house of
God, and did eat the
shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
He entered the house of
God, and he and his companions
ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for them to eat, but only for the priests.
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God!”
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also
transgress the commandment of
God by your tradition?
Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
For
God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘
Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
But ye say,
Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by
whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
But you say that if
anyone says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is a gift devoted to
God,’
And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you
nullify the word of
God for the sake of your tradition.
Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the
dumb to speak, the
maimed to be whole, the
lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they
glorified the
God of Israel.
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me,
Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of
God, but those that be of men.
But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me,
Satan! You are a
stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of
God, but the things of men.”
Wherefore they are no more
twain, but one flesh. What therefore
God hath joined together, let not man put
asunder.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is,
God: but if thou
wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a
camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of
God.
Again I tell you, it is easier for a
camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of
God.”
But Jesus
beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with
God all things are possible.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
Then Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were
buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves.
Whether of them
twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of
God before you.
Which of the two did the will of his father?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the
Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of
God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
They sent their disciples to Him along with the
Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and that You teach the way of
God in accordance with the truth. You seek favor from no one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.
They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
“Caesar’s,” they answered. So Jesus told them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do
err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of
God.
Jesus answered, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.
But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what God said to you:
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
And he that shall
swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of
God, and by him that sitteth
thereon.
And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the One who sits on it.
And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I
adjure thee by the living
God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of
God.
But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to Him, “I charge You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.”
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save
thyself. If thou be the Son of
God, come down from the cross.
and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save
Yourself! If You are the Son of
God, come down from the cross!”
He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
He trusts in God. Let God deliver Him now if He wants Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
And about the ninth hour Jesus
cried with a loud voice, saying,
Eli,
Eli,
lama sabachthani? that is to say, My
God, my
God, why hast thou
forsaken me?
About the ninth hour Jesus
cried out in a loud voice, “
Eli,
Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My
God, My
God, why have You
forsaken Me?”
Now when the
centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the
earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of
God.
When the
centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the
earthquake and all that had happened, they were
terrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of
God.”
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
This is the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into
Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of
God,
After the arrest of John, Jesus went into
Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of
God.
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of
God is at hand:
repent ye, and believe the gospel.
“The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of
God is near.
Repent and believe in the gospel!”
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of
Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of
God.
“What do You want with us, Jesus of
Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of
God!”
Why
doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can
forgive sins but
God only?
“Why does this man speak like this? He is
blaspheming! Who can
forgive sins but
God alone?”
And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all;
insomuch that they were all
amazed, and
glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
And immediately the man got up,
picked up his mat, and walked out in front of them all. As a result, they were all
astounded and
glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
How he went into the house of
God in the days of
Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the
shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
During the high priesthood of
Abiathar, he entered the house of
God and
ate the consecrated bread, which was lawful only for the priests. And he gave some to his companions as well.”
And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and
cried, saying, Thou art the Son of
God.
And when the unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and
cried out, “You are the Son of
God!”
For
whosoever shall do the will of
God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
For
whoever does the will of
God is My brother and sister and mother.”
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the
mystery of the kingdom of
God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
He replied, “The
mystery of the kingdom of
God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables,
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Jesus also said, “The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground.
And he said,
Whereunto shall we
liken the kingdom of
God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
Then He asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God? With what parable shall we present it?
And
cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high
God? I
adjure thee by
God, that thou
torment me not.
And he
shouted in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High
God? I
beg You before
God not to
torture me!”
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men.”
And he said unto them, Full well ye
reject the commandment of
God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
He went on to say, “You
neatly set aside the command of
God to maintain your own tradition.
